I know most people want to see the continuations of my RWBY stories, but this has been bouncing around my head for nearly a year. This is a One-Shot, but it may turn into a longer story once Way of Water comes out and this story is successful.

The Church of Eywa was, in my opinion, a bunch of whack jobs. Anyone who could preach that Earth's ecosystem was a living breathing god has got to be wrong in the head somehow. If she was real, she would have died decades ago. In my opinion, they were just a bunch of neopagans who read about the Pandoran Superorganism known as Eywa and applied it to Earth.

Whether their beliefs were true or not, they still paid well and kept the lights on for people like me. Whether it was a high-ranking RDA official they needed dead, or an unfinished oil pipeline bombed, they didn't care who did it, as long as it got done.

I checked my VP9, operating the bolt to make sure a round was loaded and holstered it into the lining of the blue trench coat that the Church had provided me. Mostly to blend in with the shadows and, to a lesser extent, to show solidarity with their fellow nature goddess worshipers on Pandora. A karambit was holstered at the base of my spine. I reached into the pocket of my brown cargo pants and produced a crumpled piece of paper. On it was a map of the 67th floor of a 90 floor RDA office building in which records of off planet mining infrastructure.

The plan was to land a stolen RDA Samson on the roof of the building and rappel down the side, cut a hole in one of the windows, and enter through it. It took a long time to convince them not to paint the helicopter with the colors of the Ikrans of Pandora, because if you are trying to be sneaky, you don't want your ride to be painted bright yellow.

As it landed on the roof of the building, I waved the Samson off and adjusted the blacked-out rebreather mask meant to hide my identity. I walked towards the edge of the building where a guard rail stood about a foot from the edge. I climbed over the railing and attached a rappelling line to it. I grabbed the rope and leaned forward and walked over the side. Facing down, I walked down the side of the building until I reached the target floor.

I placed a small round device on the window on the correct floor and pressed a button in the center. Two wires with diamond pins shot out of the device and latched on to the glass about a meter away from the center. I then walked up to the floor above and pressed a button the computer mounted on my wrist causing the wires to rotate. After about three cycles, the circular piece of glass that had been cut fell off the building towards the ground below. I then flipped around so that my feet faced the ground and jumped off the side of the building and into the hole in the window.

Once inside the darkened office, I unhooked myself from the rope and tossed it back outside, I would need another way out because the rope would never reach the ground. The plan was to wingsuit off the roof into a waiting van below.

I pressed a button on the side of my mask lighting up the inside with a green glow of its new night vision function. Drawing the map from my pocket, I crept between the cubicles in search of the main server.

After a minute of walking, I reached a locked door marked: Server Room. Seeing that it was just an old-fashioned key lock, I reached into one of my cargo pants pockets and produced a faux leather case and laid it on the floor. I flipped open the cover and produced one of the rakes and tension bars. Placing the tension bar into the lock and applied pressure to the right, I inserted the rake and jiggled the rake and removed it once the pins had moved into place. Once it was done, the tension bar turned and allowed me to open the door.

The cold air hit me like punch to the face. I entered and closed the door, making sure the door was locked behind me. I walked up to the main console and ran a cable from my wrist mounted computer and attached it to the USB port. After a few button presses on my wrist, a bar on the computer labeled: TRANSFERING, appeared and began to fill.

When the bar had reached around 83%, I heard a dinging sound which I assumed was the elevator. I cursed under my breathe. Intel had said that no one would be in tonight. "Security said that the server had been accessed from this floor." I heard someone say to what I assumed was another person. I removed my wrist computer and placed it on the floor, I then took up position beside the door so that if it were opened the door would block the sight of me. Drawing my VP9, I waited for the security guards.

I heard the one of the guards jiggling the door handle. "See it's locked, it's just a false alarm." One of them said.

"Well, they could have picked the lock!" The other said.

"And locked the door behind them?"

"Come on, we've got to check anyway." As I heard the jingle of keys, I began to draw my karambit as I depressed the grip safety of my VP9.

"Holy shit!" One of them yelled as he turned on the lights revealing my wrist computer and the status bar. I slammed the door behind them and shot the first guard in the head and slashed the other's throat with my karambit. As my knife victim collapsed, he smashed the alarm button with the last of his strength.

I began to search the corpses for a semi-automatic pistol, as guns like the VP9 were not meant for prolonged firefights. I grabbed a 93r from the one I shot. I then began modifying my trench coat into the wingsuit I needed to make my escape. Once that was finished, the console made a ding showing that the transfer was complete. I grabbed my wrist computer and attached it to my arm.

I dragged the bodies away into a dark corner where they would be out of my way as I exited the room. As I made my way to the elevator, alarms blaring, I could hear faintly the sound of the elevator doors dining showing that someone else had arrived. I took cover behind a cubicle wall and peered out towards the doors.

The elevator opened to reveal four armed guards brandishing XM8 rifles. "Keep your heads on a swivel, they've got to be here somewhere. One of the guards then switched on the lights, causing me to go temporarily blind as the night vision system was overwhelmed. I quickly switched it off and checked the 93r for ammo. Once I confirmed it was loaded, I jumped to the side and shot the guard at the light switch. I got to my feet and rushed to the elevator, firing blindly behind me as I reached the car and pressed the roof access button.

After a minute of waiting to reach the roof, the elevator stopped at the 83rd floor. After 5 seconds, the doors opened to reveal 5 armed guards pointing their rifles at me. I rushed forward, tackling the guy directly in front of me and fired at the window at the far end of the floor to weaken it.

As I ran, I raised my arms to protect my already covered face and smashed through the window. Once I was falling, I opened my arms and legs to allow the wingsuit to catch the air. As I glided down, I carefully aimed myself at an alleyway where a large net was set up to catch me when I landed. I flipped onto my back and folded my arms and legs as I approached and collided with the net.

Once I got up, a middle-aged man in blue clothes and his faced painted with yellow and red stripes walked over. "Do you have the data?" He asked. I removed my wrist computer and handed it to him. "Your payment is going to be wired to you, and bless Earth's Eywa."
