So I haven't said this in previous chapters, but I like to think that being taken to Feral's Lab in this story is a metaphor for going to 'Hades/The Underworld' in classic Hero's Journey Fashion Don was taken to Mutant Animal Hades for attempting to recreate the Psionic Helmet which Planet Earth is clearly not ready for and Arctica's crimes...We'll see later on but been reading the classic fairy tales from both the Grimm Brothers and Hans Christian Anderson and listening on a comparison between the The Last Unicorn book vs Movie one thing that was pointed out was in the book the town of Hagsgate the fairy tale like element of characters being disproportionatly punished or rewarded for minor acts

No time to worry about their collars giving off a signal for the moment, with Feral returning home tomorrow (If he didn't hasten his return if her learned two of his captives had escaped) Don quickly ran up the stairs and upon reaching the rear loading area of the kitchen quickly leaped out a nearby window. running down the smooth green lawn, as Arctica felt the wind whipping her furry face, she smiled realizing she wasn't sure if she would ever feel the wind ever again.

Upon reaching the wall Don effortless leapt over it...Again amazing Arctica how much he could do with her on his back...And with that he ran as far as he could into the forest.

When at last he could run no further, Don kneeled so Arctica could step down, Don turned around to sit , he was drenched in sweat and panting for breath.

"Shell..." He said as he mopped his brow "...With this collar transmitting a signal to Feral giving away our exact location, there's no way I can go home now and risk dooming my family to the same Nightmare!"

Arctica sighed, knowing this meant he had been seperated from his family for three days...Then she thought of something.

"Can you at least call them?" She asked

Don then realized that he could indeed to that, he looked in his Duffel and found his Shell Cell, he checked to see if it was bugged, it wasn't either Feral didn't recognize it as a Phone, although the fact he took the Shell Cell off his person and put it in his bag implied he did know what it was, or more likely Feral was really in a rush for this business trip he only had enough time to install the collar on him and cage him before he had to catch his flight.

He quickly dialed Splinter's number

Back at the lair everyone jumped when they heard the Shell Cell knowing that must be Donny.

"Hey Guys..." Don said quietly, meekly.

"Donatello!" Splinter exclaimed "Where are you?"

"Not in New York..." Don said "...Look before anyone says anything else, I...I really need some time alone...Don't come looking for me...But I will tell you what it was I was working on before I left...I was trying to recreate Professor Honeycutt's Psionic Helmet..."

The other three Turtles were gathered around Splinter to listen to what Don had to say.

"But now I realized...I think deep down a part of me knew I was doing something wrong, that why I couldn't bring myself to tell any of you...But now I see clearly...This world isn't ready for psychic powers...I need some time to think...Hopefully I'll be back soon."

"Don wait!" Leo grabbed the phone from Splinter but Don had already hung up

"So..." Raph admittily a little bit amazed by Don's confession "Whattya make of it Leo?"

"Don is clearly lying through his teeth." Leo said "All right he's not lying about the Psionic helmet that part was true, it's more he's leaving something out...We could all hear it in his voice, he's scared something's gone wrong...We need to find out what it is."

Don knew what his family was probably thinking as well, "They're going to come to try and find me..." He said "So...I'm on the run from both Feral and my own family."

"Why?" Arctica asked

"I have to," Don said "To keep them safe, if Feral finds us all together he can capture all of us."

"Oh...Yeah..." Arctica said feeling foolish she had already forgotten what Don said about not leading Feral to his family.

"We can't stay here..." Don said standing up "...But the problem is...Where can we go?"

Just then both their stomachs gave an enormous rumble! Don remembered that past two days he had only eaten one of his two Nutrigruel meals he had been given and he never finished the entire bowl in both cases.

"I smell deer nearby..." Arctica said "...If you like I can go and kill a deer, my claws and fangs can make short work..."

Don however after seeing Feral's collection of mutant organs was not sure he could handle butchering a deer right now...

"Hang on just a minute, before you do that..." Don said "...I know your claws and fangs are sharp but two things, One you aren't in great health after being cooped up for so long, a deer even a fawn could seriously injure you fighting back and two...We're not like natural predators if humans come by and find the remains of a deer that has been neatly butchered and further more cooked they'll assume poachers are in the area as I'm pretty sure it's not Deer Season."

Arctica remembering on her world she mostly only knew about various hunting seasosn from cartoons realized that those jokes were actually referring to things that happened to actual animals.

"I think I see some easier prey already..." Don said his eyes turned to a nearby stream "...If you can wait a minute I might have found food for both of us..."

Arctica watched with her sharp wolf eyes and Don lay on his stomach on the bank, then she saw what he had spotted a fat brown troat resting in the shallow water...Don sillently slipped his hand into the water, and Artica watched fasinated and he proceeded to stroke the troat's berry with a finger after doing this for a while he simply pulled the trout out of the water.

"How did you do that?" Arctica asked

"I remember reading a book about trout tickling." Don said "How in Medievil times you could lure trout into a hypnotyzed state by tickling their bellies, never thought I'd actually be able to try it."

So the journey now truly begins with Don and Arctica now on the run from both Feral and his own family
