As Adrian sat down in his usual seat, he let out a relieved sigh at being free from his father. At school, he could be at peace, with no cameras to sneak behind or put up an act. Here he could hate Hawkmoth without his father sending an Akuma after him for his 'rebellious' thoughts.

Five minutes later, Nino arrived with Alya. Once they sat down, Adrian got his books out of his bag for the lesson and began to write the date. Nino noticed that Adrian had a map in his bag. Just as he was going to ask him about it, Miss Bustier came in to greet the class and do the register.

As usual, Marinette came in late. Though today she looked a bit more frazzled than usual. Deep bags were under her eyes like she hadn't slept all night, and she couldn't stop flicking her eyes between Adrian and Miss Bustier. When she realised everyone was watching her, she turned and said: "Sorry, Miss Bustier. I didn't realise how late it was when I fell asleep last night. It won't happen again".

She said it like she meant it. Like she was going to eliminate all the problems in the universe just to make it happen. The class couldn't believe the seriousness she had at that moment. Usually, she would mumble an apology and run or stumble to her seat, but not today. Today she was determined.

"What is up today with you?" Alya whispered. "Your acting like the universe is Hawkmoth, and you have the key to defeating him," she continued, only for Marinette to just look at the boy in front of her. The boy whom she now knew to be one Chat Noir, her partner in crime and Adrian Agreste, the boy she secretly loves and would do anything to protect.

"Let's just say I woke up and realised what was important in my life," she mumbled back, not wanting to be called upon for speaking in class after coming in late.

As the day went by, Adrian tried to have a bit of normality, trying to forget the previous night's events yet still having the events to come looming over his head. When asked about the map, all he could come up with was 'he was helping someone with their geography homework' and needed maps of Paris and New York and transportation methods.

'Butterflies can travel for up to 2,000 miles. From here to New York, it's 3,631 miles. So he would have to go to New York if he wanted me. With how big the world is, it will take him a while to learn where I am, and New York has loads of superheroes, so I should be safe there if we can't defeat him today. It's probably best I don't stay here in Paris where my every move and emotion can be tracked. Ok breath. You can do this.' Adrian thought to himself as he went to his final lesson before lunch.

Not believing Adrian's story about Geography homework, Nino kept a close eye on him throughout the lesson. When the class was given permission to talk amongst themselves about the situation they were presented with, Nino tried asking him if he was ok, only for Adrian to say he was fine and ignore further questions, only answering the relevant ones to do with the lesson. Nino tried to talk to Alya about it, but she was too busy trying to get answers about Marinette to worry about Adrian, so he decided to let it go until dinner so he would have more time to talk about what was worrying his friend.
