Chapter 4 Phantom Menace
It's been 3 years since Sean and Korra arrived at the Jedi temple.
And since Sean had been adopted by Tarkin which led him to understanding politics better as well as other advantages.
Right now Sean was asleep at a table in his home on Coruscant.
Only for a book to drop down next to him waking him up.
"Not boring for you now is it?" Tarkin asked amused.
"No, just finished." Sean said.
"I can tell. At the rate your going there won't be much left to teach you." Tarkin said before an alert came up before he answered it showing Chancellor Volorum. "Chancellor? What may I do for you?" Tarkin asked.
"I've just recieved word that Master Qui-Gon and Kenobi have returned with Queen Amidala regarding the blockade of Naboo. I'd like you to attend with Senator Palpatine." Volorum said.
"Very well." Tarkin said ending his transmission.
"I still hate him." Sean said making him scoff in amusement.
"I know the feeling believe me I do. One of these days the Republic will be cast aside for something better." Tarkin said as they left.
Later
Everyone was on the landing platform where Korra and Selena who was revealed to be Force sensitive were there.
"So what happened?" Selena asked.
"Not sure. But something is wrong." Sean said before Palpatine walked to them.
"Ah, young Kruger always a pleasure." Palpatine said making him smile before a Naboo ship landed before everyone off got off.
Sean and Korra however spotted a boy a year older than him with a woman who was clearly his mother.
"Who's he?" Selena asked.
"I don't know." Sean said before Volorum said there would be a special sesson for the issue between the trade Federation and Naboo. "Yeah, like thats gonna help with him in charge." Sean said making Korra nod before the boy walked over to them.
"Hi."
"Hello, I don't think we've seen you before." Sean said.
"No you haven't. Sean, Korra, Selena. This is Anakin Skywalker who is special like you both are." Qui-Gon said before they left the platform.
Later
"So your this Avatar who use use all four elements on Earth?" Anakin asked.
"Yup. And I'm the first Jedi Avatar too." Korra said proudly.
"But she still can't airbend." Sean teased making her growl before hitting him making him laugh.
"What about you?" Anakin asked as Sean lifted him up with the force. "Whoa!" Anakin yelled in surprise making Sean laugh.
"Me, I'm a lot stronger in the force. 10 times stronger than Korra is." Sean said as he sat him down.
"Wow." Anakin said making them laugh before a gust of Air almost hit them making them look seeing Jinora now 5 years old trying to hit a girl who had white skin black hair and amber brown eyes.
"Jade." Korra said annoyed.
"What I just said she was a little short for a Jedi because of her age?" Jade said making her pout.
"Oy knock it off." Sean said. "Jade's only been here for a year after she was found in a slave colony.
While this was going on Qui-Gon was going over an attack that took place prior to leaving Anakin's home world.
"He was well trained in the Jedi arts. My only conclusion was he was a Sith Lord." Qui-Gon said.
"So Carth was right. They are still around." Mundi said.
"While it was a Sith Lord I don't think it was one from the days of the Old Republic. His fighting style was more modern than past. This could be one of the Rule of Two Sith." Qui-Gon said.
"Your absolutely sure?" Mace asked.
"Very. After all he gave no mention about Sean or those from the days of the old Republic. Which adds to that possibility." Qui-Gon said.
"This is troubling." Fisto said.
"And theres another thing. We've encountered a vergence in the force." Qui-Gon said.
"A vergence you say?" Yoda asked.
"Located around a person?" Mace asked.
"A boy. Who's Mid-Cholorian count was twice the amount in an average Jedi. And according to his mother he has no father." Qui-Gon said.
"You think he's the boy from the Prophecy who will bring balance tot he force?" Mace asked.
"I don't assume since it could be him, Korra or Kruger. But his birth does lead me to believe it may be so." Qui-Gon said.
"Hmm. Bring him to us." Yoda said as Qui-Gon left to find Anakin.
Arriving back down below he chuckled seeing Sean lifting Korra and Jade up with the force.
"Hey put me down!" Jade yelled making Sean and Anakin chuckle while Korra stuck her tongue out at her.
"This is what you get for teasing Jinora." Sean said as he sat them down.
"There you are." Tarkin said walking to them. "The session is about to begin. I figured you want to see this." Tarkin said as the two left.
"There was a time he absolutely hated Politics. Now he just goes to prove the Current Chancellor is a fool." Selena said.
Later
Sean and his father sat in one of the stands as Volorum began.
"The Chair recognizes the senator from the Sovereign system of Naboo." Volorum said as Palpatine in his seat floated down.
"Supreme Chancellor, delegates of the senate, A tragedy has occurred which starred right here with the taxation of the trade routes and has now engulfed our entire planet in the oppression of the trade federation." Palpatine said.
"This is Outrageous! I object the Senator's statements!" The Trade Federation senator yelled.
"Oh great. Here we go." Sean said expecting this.
"Never ending with the Trade Federation." Tarkin said.
"The Chair does not recognize the Senator of the Trade Federation at this time." Volorum said.
"To state our allegations, I present Queen amidala, recently elected ruler of the Naboo, who speaks on our behalf." Palpatine said as she stood up.
"Honorable representatives of the Republic, I come to you under the gravest of Circumstances. The Naboo system has been invaded by the droid armies of the Trade Federation..." The Queen tried to say.
"I object! There is no proof! This is incredible. We recommend a commission be sent to ascertain the truth." The Trade Federation Senator said.
"The Congress of Malastare concurs with the honorable delegates of the Trade Federation. A commission must be sent."
"The point..." Volorum tried to say before his Chairman pulled him away and whispered in his ear. "The Point has been made. Will you defer your motion to allow..." Volorum tried to say.
"THATS IT!" Sean roared shocking everyone but his father as they floated down. "I have had it up to here with your nonsense. You are the absolute worst Chancellor in history!" Sean yelled.
"Young Kruger please." Volorum tried to say.
"I think we should let Tarkin's son speak. He's far wiser than many his age." Palpatine said.
"You have done nothing your whole carrier since you were elected in office always getting pushed around by people like them letting them do what they want without resistance. That ends now! I call for a vote of no confidence...Effective immediately." Sean said as the whole place shouted in agreement as Volorum sat down in defeat at how quickly they wanted him out.
All the while Palpatine smirked in satisfaction.
"A rather blunt but true view of him." Tarkin said agreeing with his son on Volorum leadership.
"Idiot." Sean said.
Later
"I know you have a dislike for Volorum since you think he's not suited for the position but doing that was unnecessary." Mace said to Sean as they walked the halls to the balcony of the temple.
"Someone had to say something. That guy has been nothing but a joke since he took office. Always caring more for his public view than doing the right thing. Now someone right will take the position." Sean said.
"Perhaps. Now, tell me your thoughts on Skywalker?" Mace asked.
"He's ok. Kinda angry about his slave days from what he told us after the vote. But who wouldn't be?" Sean asked.
"True." Mace said.
"Why are you asking?" Sean asked.
"The council is unsure on if he should be let into the order since he's older compared to most who start training." Mace said.
"Kota was 18 when he started." Sean said making him chuckle.
"Very true. Some traditions are broken on special occasions. Still...Theres much about Skywalker we don't know." Mace said.
Sean walked down the halls of the temple before seeing Anakin run away from what was known as a Nexu that was clearly young due to it's size being the same size as Naga was now.
"Nexo." Sean said stopping said animal before it walked to him and stood up licking him.
"Whoa. How'd you do that? Use the force?" Anakin asked.
"No. Nexo is nice to those he knows." Sean said petting him.
"So he's your pet?" Anakin asked before it growled at him making him step back.
"He hates that word. He prefers partner. And no. Not mine. His." Sean said before a three year old boy walked in. He had tan Skin brown hair and dark blue eyes before Nexo rushed to him and licked him making him giggle. "Thats my brother Turok stone. He's the son of an old friend of our father who was killed by pirates last year so Dad took him in." Sean said.
"Oh." Anakin said. "Do you have a Partner?" Anakin asked making him grin.
"Let me show you something." Sean said leading him away.
Walking out to the further garden parts of the temple Sean whistled before a soft growl was heard before they heard footsteps.
"Uh?" Anakin asked before he widened his eyes.
Reason being was because what he saw was a Krayt Dragon that was about three times the size of an average human with green skin and yellow eyes. (not Mandolorian version)
"Hey, Drago." Sean said petting him as he purred.
"You have a Krayt dragon?" Anakin asked.
"Found him when poachers killed his mother last year. Been here ever since." Sean said as Drago looked at Anakin before licking him.
"Ugh." Anakin said making him laugh.
Later
"The boy is Strong with the force." Mundi said to Qui-Gon as he, Obi-Wan and Anakin were before the council.
"He is to be trained then?" Qui-Gon asked.
"We still haven't fully decided on that just yet. Mainly because having two people who have an even greater connection to the force leaves many concerned. A third who's less than that will raise further concerns." Mace said.
"One of the three the Chosen one is. But which one is unknown." Yoda said.
"However for now this choice will be put on hold. Right now the Queen is heading back to Naboo. As risky as this is we want to send Sean and Korra with you hoping it draws out the attacker once more. If this Sith Lord is from the days of the Old Republic he won't resist trying to grab him." Mace said.
"This is a risky move." Obi-Wan said.
"Indeed but Tarkin agreed as did Carth and the others. We need to know if this Sith is a modern or old version. If it's a modern one we can put most of our worries at ease and focus on finding the other one." Mundi said.
"But if it's a past one...Then our fears have come true." Mace said.
"I understand." Qui-Gon said.
Later
The Queen along with those from her planet and the Jedi had arrived back on Naboo seeing the blockade was downsized to one ship that controled thousands of battle droids.
After landing the queen now revealed to be Padme using her double named Sabe convinced the Gunguns to fight back.
"I don't think this is a battle we can win." Panaka said.
"The battle is a diversion to lure away the main armies to make it easier to get into the city." Sean said.
"Sean's right. it's the only way we're going to get in and get to the Viceroy." Padme said.
"Once the Viceroy is captured we can make him surrender and shut down all the droids. And if not thats where the second part of getting into the City comes in." Kenobi said.
"Which is?" Panaka asked.
"Get the pilots to their ships and take out the control ship. It's a long shot but it could work." Padme said.
"The problem is if the Viceroy escapes he'll return with another droid army." Kenobi said.
"Thats why we can't fail. Plus theres something wrong. Theres no logic to this." Sean said.
"You think he's up to something?" Qui-Gon asked.
"I think theres more to this than some simple trade dispute." Sean said as he and Korra walked off.
"What do you think?" Korra asked.
"I think theres more to than anyone realizes. What if he's doing this because someone else told him to?" Sean asked.
"Who?" Korra asked.
"I don't know and thats what bugs me." Sean said.
Later
While the Gungun army was keeping the main droid armies busy the rest arrived in the city.
Padme and her team arrived at one point before using a colored flasher to signal Panaka who did the same thing before his men got ready.
"Once we're inside I want all of you to hide." Qui-Gon said.
"Why bring us here if we're not gonna help?" Sean asked.
"To observe." Qui-Gon said as a tank blew up before they rushed to the hanger.
Inside they blasted and destroyed the droids inside while the pilots got to their fighters and flew out to the control ship while Sean, Korra and Anakin got in one of them for cover as the battle ended.
"My guess is the Viceroy is in the throne room." Padme said.
"Wait for us." Anakin said getting up but Sean pulled him down.
"Didn't you hear? We have to stay in here." Sean said as the doors opened up before on the other end was someone in dark robes with sickly yellow eyes.
"Uh who's that?" Korra asked as Sean looked at him before he looked at him as well.
"We'll handle this." Qui-Gon said as Padme and her forces were about to use the long way.
Only for stronger droids known as Destroyers to roll in and started blasting them with shields around them.
"We gotta do something." Anakin said as Sean looked for the trigger.
The Sith warriour pulled out a lightsaber staff with two red blades on each end.
"Before we begin who are you?" Qui-Gon asked.
"I am Darth Maul." Maul said.
"Why are you after Sean?" Obi-Wan asked.
"I don't even know who your talking about." Maul said before looking at the boy again. "Ah, you're talking about the boy. But why? I sense the power within him. But you ask as if I already knew who he was. Why is that?" Maul asked before Qui-Gon went on the attack first.
Padme and her group were still pinned down.
"Wheres the Trigger?" Sean asked looking.
"I don't know." Anakin said before pressing a button as they started taking off.
"Not that one. What about this?" Korra asked as the top shut on them.
"Nope." Anakin siad.
"It's right here you idiots." Sean said taking it and started blasting them.
"Now get us out of here!" Korra yelled.
"It's on Automatic pilot." Anakin said before the droid up top known as R2 started beeping.
"Try to override it." Sean said as they took off.
Obi-Wan and Qui-Gon continued to fight maul before they made their way to the power core room as Maul kicked Obi-Wan back making him grunt falling but caught the railing.
"I don't know what it is about that boy but I sense great from him. Your hiding something about him. The question though is what." Maul said.
"You only confirmed our suspicions if your don't know. Your not a Sith of the days of Old. You're a modern one." Qui-Gon said.
"Ah, The boy is from the past. I wonder...A weapon of the Sith perhaps. Fallen into Jedi hands. Not for long." Maul said.
As they were fighting a dark shroud observed the fight.
Meanwhile
Anakin and the others flew to the control ship.
"Thata where we're going." Sean said before R2 deactivated the autopilot.
"Lets get out of here." Korra said.
"Hold on. Theres an opening right there." Sean said seeing the hanger open.
"So?" Anakin asked.
"Fly in and take out the reactor and it'll take out the ship. That will cause all the droids around the planet to shut down. Making our job easier." Sean said.
"Oh yeah. Right." Anakin said flying in and past several droids.
"There it is." Sean said.
"Got it." Anakin said firing rockets at it before it blew up causing a chain reaction.
"Lets get out of here." Sean said as they flew out as the whole place began to blow up.
"Now this is pod racing." Anakin said making them laugh as the whole ship blew up which shut down all the droids.
Meanwhile
Maul continued to fight against Kenobi and Qui-Gon before he hit Obi-Wan down and was about to go for a fatal hit.
Only for a dark hand to grab the blade.
"WHAT!" Maul roared before gasping seeing who held the blade.
Revan
"The Sith of today are nowhere near the power of my age." Revan said.
"Your dead." Maul said in fear.
"Death for those of my power...Is only the beginning." Revan said before using the force to choke him before breaking his neck letting him fall to his doom.
"How are you still alive?" Obi-Wan asked.
"He's become one with the living force. An ancient form that has been all but forgotten." Qui-Gon said.
"Indeed I am. And I have come to warn you. The Sith from my age...Still live. They have remained in hiding...Waiting for the day when my son's emergence would be revealed. One day it will...And they will return." Revan said.
"So Maul wasn't a Sith of Old." Kenobi said.
"No. He and his master are of this age. His Master on the other hand though is a lesser threat to what is coming and will meet his demise...7 years from now." Revan said.
"You can see the future?" Qui-Gon asked.
"In parts but his fate will be met by something from ages past on Earth that was stopped by a Past Avatar. I can say no more but understand this. He must be ready for when they return." Revan said fading as they looked concerned.
Later
The Viceroy and his advisor were being escorted to a ship to be held in trial for what happened.
Thats when the new Chancellor Palpatine walked down.
"Congratulations on your election." Padme said.
"It is you who we should be congratulating. Your bravery saved our people. In time such acts will change everything." Palpatine said before walking to Sean and the children.
"Nice to see someone competent in office for a change." Sean said making him smile.
"My boy, I assure you that I will make sure those mistakes are never repeated. And when you're older I would like to offer you a place within the Republic Senate. It certainly needs those who take action." Palpatine said walking away.
When he was out of range Sean frowned.
"Still don't trust him?" Tarkin asked his son.
"I don't know. Something about him kinda bugs me. Maybe I'm just being paranoid." Sean said.
"Sometimes Paranoia is a good thing. But only time can tell if it's rightly placed." Tarkin said as they walked off.
Later
"So Revan did confirm there are two types of Sith in the Galaxy. The Modern and the Past." Mace said to Qui-Gon.
"Thats what he believes. Maul knew nothing about Sean only that he was powerful. But nothing more." Qui-Gon said.
"Then our fears are confirmed." Mundi said.
"What about the Boy? Skywalker?" Fisto asked.
"Sean and Korra have gotten to know him. I think it's best we do train him. Perhaps they can help him cope with his slave years and help him move on. That and with his mother with him also helps." Qui-Gon said.
"Very well. We will accept him into the order. And Kenobi will be made a knight so you may both train him. This way he gets more than one perspective." Mace said.
"The only question now we have to wonder is who was killed? The Master of the Rule of Two or the apprentice?" Mundi asked.
"I believe it was the Apprentice. His skills while great were still developing." Qui-Gon said.
"I agree." Kenobi said.
"So now we have to find the Master which makes things difficult." Koth said.
"According to Revan he said he would die in 7 years by something a past Avatar fought years ago. So I don't think theres much need for concern." Qui-Gon said.
"Did he say what it was?" Plo asked.
"No. Only that it was from Earth." Qui-Gon said.
"Whatever it is we'll deal with it." Mace said.
Authors note: And with that Phantom menace has a better ending. Qui-Gon lives and now they know the Sith are still out there. Next Chapter is gonna be intense and full of surprises.
