Mitsuki's Prov
I roughly wiped the sweat from my forehead trying to keeping it from dripping down into my eyes while I worked. I had been struggling with this one difficult piece of machinery for the last half hour and the hot weather was making my garage, that served as my work shop, stiflingly hot.
I readjusted my hold on the large piece of metal I was working on; sitting on the floor and planting my foot up on the heavy machine while I pulled. I grit my teeth and let out a growl of frustration as I wrestled with my tools forcing the metal to fit into place.
A loud metallic scrap followed by a loud satisfying bang sounded through the room as the pieces finally snapped into place. With a relieved sigh I stood up and beat my wrench on the top of the machine to the loud beat of the 90s hip-hop music blasting from my stereo.
A flashing light caught my eye as I looked over at my phone vibrating across the wooden surface of my work bench. I let out another aggressive growl as I glared at the interruption, tossing the large wrench on the workbench with a clang.
I switched off the blaring music of my stereo as I passed it and picked up my phone practically smashing the speaker button, already annoyed with who was on the other line.
"The HELL you want?" I snapped, while running a hand threw my sweaty hair, not caring about the dirt and grease I streaked threw my blonde mop of hair.
"Is it ready?" A rough male voice came over the speaker.
I glared down at the phone clenching my teeth. "IT'S READY WHEN I SAY IT'S READY!"
"This is not something to take lightly. There is a dead line! Need I remind you, Mrs. Bakugou, of the contract you willingly signed." The man's voice was strained over the loud speaker, showing he was clearly trying to keep his composer.
I let out a huff, standing up straight resting my fits on my hips and smirking down at the phone as if the man could see the amusement on my face. "Feeling the pressure are we?"
"WILL IT BE READY OR NOT?!" the man's control finally snapping, "People have already placed their orders, we cannot afford for you to screw this up!"
I sighed rolling my eyes, as I crossed my arms over my chest, "Relax, suits. I already completed your order. So don't get your lace panties in a bunch. Send over your guys to pick it up tomorrow."
The man made a bunch of sputtering sounds, clearly surprised and frustrated with me. "Why didn't you just say that from the beginning?"
I let out a chuckle as I moved to the phone again, "Where's the fun in that?" Then hit the red button, ending the call and successfully cutting off the shouting of the man on the other end.
"HEY HAG!" came a loud roaring voice from inside the house, "YOU HERE?!" I smirked delighted, before turning to head inside.
"DONT YELL THROUGH THE HOUSE!" I shouted back just as loud before entering into the kitchen to see my son tossing his back pack onto the counter, "Katsuki, your Father in working on a new line and needs quite."
I understood the irony of myself yelling at him while telling him not to yell, but Lord have mercy if that child didn't listen to me other wise.
"Then quit yelling like a damn Banshee." he retorted growling back at me. I was unfazed by his attitude as I walked over to reach up and smack him lightly upside the head. He had gotten so tall in the last year, I now had to reach up to smack his ego inflated head.
"Dont speak to me that way, brat." I snapped gritting my own teeth in frustration, before quickly smiling and pulling him into a tight hug. "You came home to see your dotting mother."
He growled in his throat but relaxed into my hug, making me smile more. "Yeah, yeah." he mumbled
Suddenly my attention was pulled from my own brooding son to the group standing behind him with goofy expressions on their cute little faces.
I loved this amazing group of freak'in kids; They were without a doubt the best things to have ever happened to my son, his best friends. Accepting him, even as he had been 2 years ago; when he had been out of control leaving me and my husband at our wits end on how to get threw to him.
This wacky, crazy, adorable group of misfit hero's in training had clung to his side so tightly he had had no choice but to eventually accept them. Though he wouldn't never say it out loud, as his mother, I could see the change in him and how much he had come to care for each one of them.
They each had a unique talent that had helped to shape Katsuki into the young man he was now and thou I had always believed in him, I was now more sure then ever that he was going to become one of the greatest hero's the world has ever seen.
"Aww, " I smiled widely rushing over and taking them all into a tight group hug. "If it isn't my favorite group of hooligans?" The group of of young adults let out giggles and loud bursts of laughter as they hugged me back.
"Tch" I heard the click of Katsuki's tongue behind me, "Let them go before they suffocate, crazy women." I turned to look at him only to stick my tongue out, before turning back to talk with his friends again.
"Mina, my sweet girl, how have you been?" I pulled her into another quick hug before pulling back to look at her. Mina was an incredibly special young women, she had stolen my heart instantly, feeling more like my friend then my son's sometimes.
She had an other worldly beauty to her, with her bubble gum pink skin and long matching pink hair, that she had grown out and started keeping in long intricate box braids that accentuated the two sharp yellow horns popping out of the top of her head. She was a ball of feminine energy among the rough and tumble group of boys. Yet she fit in perfectly, often leading the charge into their mischief and mayhem.
She smiled widely at me, blinking her large black and yellow eyes, "I have been great. Tired, but excited about summer."
"Psh, that is if we can escape summer school." The black haired boy sighed, "I just know Aizawa has a brutal line up for the exams this year."
"Come on, Sero." I smirked, "Your Hero's in training, you can't expect him to make it easy for you."
Sero chuckled, rubbing at his new undercut but nodded in agreement.
He is what I would call the silent leash of the group he was usually the voice of reason and was always a gentleman, who put others before himself. He was often more calculating then the rest of their group; being more observant, staying more in the back ground. Which had lead him to sometimes helping me in the work shop with his quirk of shooting tape from his elbows.
He put a whole new meaning to the phrase 'Elbow grease.' Which he had found incredibly funny when I had told him so.
A loud whine drew my attention over to the couch where I could see two long legs hanging over the side of the arm rest. "Ya, but he doesn't have to try and kill us in EVERY test. Between his lessons and our internships, I'm being driven to an early grave."
I walked over and smacked one of his bright yellow shoes. "Kaminari, its because your interning that he is being so hard on you. Your already, literally, putting your life on the line every day. Aizawa would be failing at his job if he didn't make your training worth while for you."
The young man let out a over exaggerated groan and flopped back on the couch again, causing some of his long yellow hair to come loose from his messy man bun. I smiled down at his childlike behavior.
Kaminari was the type of person to light up a room when he walked in and not just because of his electric quirk. Although he struggled academically he made up for it with a truly Heroic charisma, he always tried to make the people around him laugh and thou he often had to work harder then the others to keep up, he never let it get him down and always managed to pull it off in the end.
"She is right, you know. Aizawa is rough I'll admit, but we all have seen how much he cares about us. I trust in his methods." I turned to look at the bright smile of Kirishima, as he draped a large arm around Mina's shoulders, making the smaller girl beam up at him.
I practically had to squint to look at the blinding smile of the red head; Kirishima was Katsuki's best friend, I owned a lot to all of these kids, but none more then Kirishima. He had helped to save Katsuki when he had been taken by villains, as well as being the first one to truly befriended him. He had an overwhelming positive attitude and a confidence to back it up, he believed the world was mostly good and always saw the best in everyone.
Mine wrapped her arms around his waist, giving his long red mane of hair a tug before laughing, "Of course you do, babe."
Kirishima frowned, "What is that supposed to mean?"
I smiled at the sight of the young couple, they had finally started dating last year and I was so proud and happy for them, they were simply adorable and so perfect for each other.
"She means, YOU trust everyone, dumb hair." Katsuki's voice came from behind be as he leaned on the counter near the kitchen.
"You right." smiled Kirishima, just as brightly unaffected by Katsuki's harsh words.
Katsuki rolled his eyes at his friends, "You done wasting our time yet?"
I smirked and jumped at him, pulling him tightly into a head lock and messing his hair, smiling widely as he tried to push me off, "Aw, don't worry, you will always be my favorite, Suki."
"LET GO YOU MORONIC FEMALE! Your getting sweat all over me!" he roared loudly, but quit fighting against my hold and let me pull him up into another hug. I smiled thinking of how far we had come as a family, how far 'He' had come from the brash unruly demon spawn that he had once been.
"Alright, alright," I smiled again letting him go and stepping around the counter to face all of them.
"So what brings you all here?"
Mina sprang forward, her long pink braids bounced around her as she smiled widely at me. "We are doing a study group to get ready for pre summer finals."
"Damn Straight, you idiots need all the study time you can get." Katsuki snapped at the group surrounding him, causing them all to let out groans.
"Aw, come on man." Kirishima said as he punched Katsuki in the shoulder hard enough to make him grunt. "You agreed to help us."
"I NEVER AGREED TO THAT!" he shouted back,
"QUITE YELLING!" I shouted leaning over the counter to smack his arm.
"YOUR THE ONE WHO'S YELLING!" he yelled back,
"What is all the ruckus about?" We all turned to see my husband, Masaru, walking into the room, looking exhausted as he calmly cleaned his glasses with the hem of his shirt.
"Now look what you did." I snapped at our son who bared his teeth at me and raised at hand setting off small pops in his palm.
"Stop that." I smacked his hand down casually, as I moved past them to my husband. "They are here so Katsuki can help them study, isn't that great?" I wrapped my arms around one of his arms, watching as he smiled kindly at me then back up at the rest of the them.
"Yes," he pulled his arm out of my hands only to rest it over my shoulders and pull me gently into his side. "Well, you all know the drill; make yourselves at home and let us know if you need anything. We will let you get to your studies."
There was a unanimous 'Thank you' before we turned and headed up the stairs to our own room.
I smiled to myself as we walked letting my head lean on his shoulder.
"Something amusing, Love?" he asked as we went into the bedroom,
I giggled as I moved away from him to the dresser to take out some clean clothes, "Yes, I love seeing him with his friends, ya know?"
He smiled back at me as he sat at the foot of our bed, "Yes, I was afraid he wouldn't find people who understand him like we do. But it appears I was worried for nothing."
I laughed and headed over to him throwing my clean clothes onto the bed beside him before walking in between his spread legs and resting my arms on his shoulders. "You?… worry to much?… preposterous."
He chuckle up at me placing his hands on my hips to pull me closer, "I know. I worry to much."
I smiled down at him and leaned into kiss him on the lips, "It's because you care so damn much."
He hummed into my lips, as I pulled away he smirked at me, "Go get cleaned up. I'll wait for you here."
I let out a hum of thought before stepping back and removed my dirty black tank top, letting in fall on the floor before taking his hand, pulling him after me to our private bathroom. "You know I hate waiting."
He smiled at me rushing forward to pick me up bridle style and walking me into the bathroom. I laughed loudly, "Always the gentleman."
He smirked at me before gently kissing me, "That's what you will always deserve."
Kasuki's Prov
I watched as my Dad gently ushered my mom out of the kitchen, God bless him. The soft giggle of my mother could be heard as they went up the stairs. I shook my head, how he so easily tamed the beast I would never know. She was all spit and fire until it came to him, then she melted into soft and giggly.
"Aw," Mina cooed next to me, "They are seriously the cutest. They really seem to get each other, ya know."
I rolled my eyes, "Their both nuts."
"I donno," Kaminari shrugged and got up off the couch, heading into my kitchen. "Seems kinda nice. I hope me and my future girl are like that. All my parents do is argue. I don't even think they like each other to be honest." he casually opened the fridge and pulled out two waters, tossing one to Sero.
I snatched it out of the air, "Oi, don't just go digging through my fridge."
I felt the bottle of water jerk from my hand as Sero chuckled, "Ya dude, uncool." the bottle of water smacked into his hand with a trail of tape running from the bottle to his elbow.
I let out a huff, leaving the kitchen, "We come here to gock at my parents or study?"
Mina giggled as she bounced behind be, "Not ganna lie. I came to do both."
I lead them down the hall toward my room on the first floor, once inside I moved to the small table in the center and plopped down, my back against my bed. Kaminari let out a grunt before launching himself onto my bed.
"Shoe's off, short circuit." I grumbled, pulling my text books from my bag, as Kaminari obediently kicked off his shoes. Kirishima dropped is large ass into the bean bag in the corner while Mina seemed content to lay on my carpet, dumping her bag out around her. Glitter and neon spilled out in the form of her notebooks, nail polish, various beauty products and fashion magazines.
"Oi, don't spill any of that crap on the carpet." I snapped before tossing a towel I had near by at her. She caught it easily and spread it under her crap before laying on her stomach and starting to paint her nails.
"What does everyone wanna start with?" Sero asked taking his usual place sitting backwards in my desk chair. "I really need to focus on my English if I want my summer internship with Edgeshot to go well. This is our last summer after all, gotta step it up."
"We could start there," Kirishima said pulling out his own books, "I need to be better at it to before summer."
Kaminari snorted as he flipped through his phone on the bed, "Why? It's not like that will help you understand Hounddog any better."
I snapped my head around to look at Kirishima, "The schools guidance counselor? The hell you interning with him for?"
Kirishima awkwardly scratched the back of his head, "Oh ya, well he is super good at talking, when he isn't mad at least. But I have actually gone with Mina a few times to talk with him and, I donno man, he has a lot he can teach me about helping people who have gone through tough times. I wanna be that kinda hero."
Mina gently leaned her head onto his knee as she kept painting her nails. I looked from Kirishima to Mina, catching the small sad smile on Mina's face and the gentle look Kirishima gave to her.
They had started dated shortly after Mina's Dad died last year. Poor guy got caught up in a
Villain and Hero fight on the way home from work.
We had been celebrating the end of semester finals with summer starting the next day. It had become some what of a class tradition to celebrate every damn little thing, but the ending of each semester was a bit more extravagant. Even including the extras from Class 3-B and some hero support students as well.
Aisawa had come rushing through the doors, eyes scanning quickly through the loud crowded room. I noticed because I was leaned against the wall by the door waiting till I could dip out without everyone making a loud fuss.
His eyes fell on me and I knew something was wrong, "Ashido?" he had said it urgently causing me to push off the wall and frown, but I immediately pointed to where the bright pink girl was dancing with a few of the other girls.
I knew right where Mina was because she had been dancing with 'her', and where ever she was my eyes were drawn to her like a moth to the flame, I had been watching from afar, as usual.
Watching her bright smile, her hair she had let grow out, swirled around her as she danced with the other girls like a graceful goof ball.
I watched as Aisawa moved quickly to Mina and carefully grabbed her arm pulling her gently with him toward the doors, talking quietly. As they passed by me I saw a wave of horror wash over her usually bubbly face.
She turned and grabbed Aisawa's arms in a death grip, eyes instantly full of tears and panic. I couldn't make out much before they both rushed off. I watched from the door way an odd urge to follow them washing over me.
Me and Mina hadn't been very close back then. She was a classmate, Kirishima's childhood friend and
'her' best friend, but that was it really. Thou Mina and the rest of the squad had started to be my unit,
My unavoidable constants. Especially after I had been kidnapped and returned, not completely myself.
They had moved their odd loud orbit closer around me until, as much as I hated to admit it at the
time,I started taking comfort in their presence. Seeing wild Mina so shaken up had me wanting to go
into Hero mode for her, be a friend to her like she had been for me.
I had clenched my cup so hard it's contents splashed out onto my shirt causing me to snap back into focus. I wasn't the Hero she needed.
I had quickly moved through the bodies till I found him. Kirishima was sitting on the ground playing some video game with that shadow extra from Class 3-B.
"Hey Bakubro, you wanna pla-" before he finished I grabbed him by the shirt and pulled him up and after me. He yelled and complained the whole time until we got to the door and I tossed him out, he landed with a loud thump on his ass.
"What the hell man? You can't kick me out." he whined in confusion,
"Shut up!" I snapped, "Something is up with Pinky so you gotta go."
"What? Mina?" his face had morphed from confused to concerned in a flash, as he moved to his feet. "What happened? Where is she?"
"Aisawa came and got her." I said nodding toward the faculty building, "They rushed off that way."
Kirishima stared at me, I could see so many emotions moving over his face, not for the first time, I marveled at how other people seemed to be able to do that so easily. Let their feeling show.
"Well?" I snapped caucusing him to blink back to focus on me. "Go already!"
He had blinked once more before his hero persona appeared. Taking over his normal goofy face and replacing it with a fierce glare. "Right." and off he had ran.
The news spread threw the class by the next day and everyone had been distraught for Mina, the next few days the girls had made a weird nest of blankets, pillows, food and tissues, in the common room with Mina and Kirishima at the center. She apparently refused to be away from him and he growled at anyone who tried to pull him away from her as well.
But summer brake had started and thou most of the girls stayed longer then the rest of class Mina was now facing going home to grief and funeral planning. So the morning she was set to leave for home she had come down stair's with Kirishima to find Sero, Kaminari and myself with our bags in hand.
No way was she doing all that crap alone, the self proclaimed Bakusquad had of course gone with her and stayed the summer helping her; her mother, her new baby brother and her grandmother. Cheeks and Ears had showed up a few days after we got there and stayed to help also, doing busy work like cleaning and laundry and taking care of the little purple brat; Yes as pink as Mina was her little brother was neon Purple with four little blue hours starting to grow outta his head.
The girls tried to do the cooking too, but I quickly kicked everyone out of the kitchen. The family had sufferer enough, in my opinion.
Probably the worst part was that the house they had been living in was now to expensive to stay in with her family losing her Dad's income. So they needed to move quickly, we pulled together and were thankfully able to get the two older women and baby brat settled into a safe neighborhood with reasonable rent.
That was also when Mina almost quite U.A. she nearly quite to go get a lame ass waitressing job to support her family. But a surprise visit from Aisawa and Almight and I am sure a lot of support from Kirishima, she agreed it would be best for her family and herself to return to school and become a pro, then she would be better able to help her family.
A pink and black polka dot pillow smacked me hard in the face, "THE HELL?!" I roared pulling away the pillow to see Mina's bright smile, "Where'd you go fearless leader?" she smirked,
"Damn alien…" I rubbed my nose roughly to relieve some of the sting the pillow caused, "The hell is in that pillow? Bricks?"
"OHMIGOD!" Mina yelped, eyes going wide and grabbing for the pillow quickly, "Nothing! There is nothing in it!"
"Oh ho oh?" Kaminari easily snatched it from my hand because he was sitting on the bed behind me. "Sounds like secrets."
"Kaminari you troll, give it back!" Mina jumped quickly to her feet, Kaminari laughed as he reached into the pillow pulling out a bright yellow journal that seemed to be filled to busting and had a red ribbon tied around it. "What do we have here?"
"No!" Mina yelled, "They will kill me." she quickly lunged at him knocking over the bottle of bright neon blue nail polish all over my light gray carpet.
"Oi!" I barked moving quickly over to the spill to try and minimize the damage.
Mina latched onto Kaminari's waist still wailing, as he tossed the book to Sero.
"Class A-1's Tea book?" Sero read the cover with an arched brow, Mina jumped on the low table and reached up to try and grab the book from Sero's hands. But Sero being the tallest of us, easy held it out of her reach.
"Come on, guys." Kirishima laughed from his spot on the bean bag chair, half heartily trying to defuse the situation. 'The lazy ass.'
"Oh, oh, oh, Tea?!" Kaminari shouted, practically jumping on my bed, "Give it here."
Mina was now climbing up Sero's back, like a Koala in a tree, which might have been amusing if I wasn't so focused on trying to scrub up that damn blue nail polish from my carpet, 'Damn it's ganna smell like chemical blueberries in here for months and is that freaking glitter?' I growled, grabbing her nail polish remover and pouring some on the towel then continuing to scrub the blue spot roughly.
"Tea?" Sero wheezed out, as he struggled to keep his footing with one of Mina's arm's around his throat and both her legs tightly wrapped around his waist keeping his other arm tightly trapped to his torso.
"Tea, as is spill the tea?" Kaminari rushed. "It's a gossip book."
Sero's mouth opened in a small 'o' as he understood and just managed to toss the book to Kaminari as he lost his balance causing him and Mina fall into a heap on the floor.
Kirishima finally moved to his feet, "Wait, I dont think that is a good idea, man."
Kaminari rolled his eyes, "It will be fine, we know practically everything about our class anyways. What could they really be hiding?" he quickly flipped open the book, as Mina let out a final wail, "Denki stop!"
Kaminari's face paled as his eyes shot up to me before he looked back at the book, "What?" I snapped annoyed, my hands still holding the nail polish covered towel, the remover burning my nostrils.
"Dude-" he started before Mina tackled him hard off the bed causing the book to fly in the air and land right next to me.
Next thing I knew I was looked down into the stupid green eyes of none other then freak'in Deku, who had his arms wrapped around that Blonde four eyed girl from I-Island, in what was clearly a romantic hug.
They were both looking back at the camera, the girl was the one who had taken the selfie of them, both with big goofy smiles and blushing faces.
I grabbed the book, "The hell is this?" I looked back at Mina,
She let out a loud groan as she flopped ungracefully on top of Kaminari who out a grunt at the weight as he was still on the floor from her tackle, "None of you were suppose to see any of that."
"The heck Mina!" I yelled, thrusting the picture at her. "What is he doing with his stupid hands all over her?"
Mina looked at me confused, "Uh, hugging her? Come on, Bakubabe you can't be that touch starved."
I ignored her jab and looked from her back to the picture, my hands were getting hot my whole body was tense. 'How could he do this? Do this to her? What was he thinking?'
Kirishima came up next to me and looked at the picture, "Dude," he said with a large smile and a quick punch to my arm, "This is perfect."
Mina got up moving some of her long braids over her shoulder, "Okay, I am ganna need more info from both of you. Your taking this weirdly hard." she pointed at me, "and you," she pointed at Kirishima, "are taking this weirdly well. Spill it."
I kept my eyes on the stupid picture, clenching my free fist, the hand holding the book started to smoke, before Mina quickly snatched it away. "Hey, hey, hey. This is a special book dude, don't blow it up. What is the matter with you?"
"Oh… well uh," Kirishima said nervously, "We well… we thought that, I mean we didn't know…"
I growled down at the smaller pink girl, "What about Cheeks?"
I watched as Mina's eyes widened slightly darting between me and Kirishima, "Ohhhh. Ohmigod, Bakugou! I knew it!" she tossed the book onto the floor and jumped at me, letting out a horrifyingly girly squeal.
In my surprise and frustration I growled letting off some small explosions away from Mina, but enough so she was able to realize how pissed I was . She tensed before backing away, "Okay, okay, let me explain. I think I see where the miss understanding happened."
"So as we all know Midoriya has been on a mission for the last few weeks, due to his connection with All for one, yes?" Mina started, causing me to bite my cheek hard to try and let her finish, 'I did not need to be reminded of the fact that while I was here at school Deku was out there on a real Hero mission, seems I was having to chase his lame broccoli ass yet again.'
See me tensing up Mina moved both her hands in a calm down motion that had me drawing blood from my cheek, "While he was on the mission he ended up running back into Melissa and they just recently started dating. But it's not common knowledge just yet, you know how shy Midoriya is. They wanted to wait till they got back to tell the whole class."
"Then how is it in your book?" asked Sero from the floor next to Kaminari.
"This book," Mina sighed as she walked over to it and picked it up again. "It's a travel journal for the girls in the class. We started it first year and pass it around to each other while we are all on missions or vacations, or whatever. It helps us feel connected, ya know."
My teeth were going to be power in a few minuets, 'This was getting ridiculous, she wasn't answering my question it didn't make any damn scene. The journal was for all the girls in class? Then that meant 'she' read it too, how was Mina so casual about all this? I thought they were best friends.'
Kirishima, bless him asked the question I was thinking, "Sooo, Uraraka reads this journal too?"
Mina smirked over at me and nodded. That was it she was being coy on purpose and I was not in the mood.
"How can you be so calm, Mina!" I roared towering over her much smaller form, "Your heartless enough to let your best friend just stumble upon this damn picture of her boyfriend with his slimy hands all over another women?"
I could feel all their eyes on me. I was breathing hard glaring down at Mina who was sporting a oddly large smirk on her stupidly pink face.
'There is no way she knows.' I felt panic, hot in my gut. I mean I guess the other guys in the room were starting to catch on, especially Kirishima. They would all sometimes tease me when my eyes would land on 'her' and stay longer then intended. Or when I would loose focus in training and one of them would get the upper hand in our sparring, knowing it was because I was distracted from watching 'her' kick somebody else ass.
I could tell you the exact moment the shift happened, down to the damn second when 'she' dropped into my world like an atomic bomb shooting her shrapnel so deep into my skin I knew would never be rid of her. That damn festival two years ago in first year, it hunted me.
She had surprised me.
The obsessive, cocky, little douche bag that I had been back then, didn't stand a chance against her determination and passion in the arena. The moment she dropped the whole field on top of me and charged me, my heart had fully surrendered and I was helpless to stop it.
I knew I wanted to be in her inner circle, wanted her to like me; and that was the darnedest thing. The first hint I was a goner. I had never ever cared before if someone freak'in liked me, most people either cowered away from me or praised my skills and that was just how I had liked it.
But in that one fight it had been like gravity left me completely and I was endanger of floating into the freak'in sun. So I did the first thing I could think of to get closer to her.
I had tried to return her gym shirt that day after our match. I had walked back onto the field and retrieved her scorched one before heading to get a new one and then to the waiting room where I knew she was supposed to be. No one had been there so I had placed the shirt on the table near her old ass pink flip phone and debated waiting for her.
Until I figured she would be with recovery girl, so I decided to head that way, but I never made it that far. That damn nerd had been coming to check on her and I felt white hot rage flood me, the likes I had never felt before, as it dawned on me. 'That's right, she was friends with the nerd. It had probably been his idea to float the whole damned arena.'
For an unknown reason that thought had pissed me off more, I couldn't tell if I was more disappointed that she didn't fight her own battles or that I had been impressed by a plan Deku had come up with.
Both thoughts had me raging, so when I confronted Deku about it, only to have him tell me I was wrong he had done nothing to help her.
I was even more surprised by the overwhelming relief I had felt wash over me. Only to feel an odd ache in my chest as he walked away from me toward recovery girls office… walked toward her.
I had stood there warring with myself on if I should follow him or return to my seat. In the end my pride won and I returned to my seat.
After that it was impossible not to watch her; I started to notice more things about her in our day to day, how she took her coffee with hazelnut creamer and drank it through out the entire day and into the night, that she hated scary movies but loved ones full of bad CGI. She was a ridiculous penny pincher, and often went without breakfast. She cared a lot for her friends and family doting on them almost every chance she got with encouragement, praise, and support.
I started paying more attention in training too; she was powerful and resilient. Willing to push herself, eager to be better then she was the day before, which had her quickly moving to be the best hand to hand fighter out of the girls and most the guys in class. I got a wicked sort of pride from watching her wipe the floor with Deku a few times in quirkless combat.
And the occasional chance I got the courage to demand we spar, the thrill of it was addicting, being able to witness her improvement first hand, to the point where I now had to keep on my toes when we fought or she would quickly hang my cocky ass out to dry as well.
but all this caused two things to happen;
One, I had quickly realized I was falling and falling hard, for this damn pink floating ray of sunshine and I didn't see any way out of it.
And two… I was now clearly on the crap end of a pathetic unrequited love story.
As much as I watched her it became painfully obvious early on, that she was fall'in for the nerd.
She would never choose me.
"Bakugou?" Mina's gentle voice snapped me out of my pitiful memories, she was looking at me with a bit of concern. She must have seen some kind of emotion on my face and decided to take pity on me, gently placing her hand on my arm, she gave it a small squeeze.
"Bakugou, Midoriya and Uraraka broke up last year."
