For several weeks the city of Brockton Bay has been in a positive uproar as today at eight o'clock at night a team of scientist has finished working on Brockton Bay's newly implemented clean energy source that is designed to give clean and efficient energy to the city.
Now this machine is modeled after a particle accelerator in terms of design and function in some ways as it is designed to harness the power of atoms in a safe way that won't result in any dangerous explosions and what not.
Now the building containing this machine is known as Star Labs and the founder is a brilliant scientist known as Emil Hamilton. Now Emil stood on a podium in front of Star Labs as he was about to speak into the large crowd that has gathered outside as Emil has fair skin with grey hair swept backwards on his head as several strands came over his forehead as he also sported brown eyes and is wearing a basic white lab coat over a short sleeved blue dress shirt and black slacks with brown dress shoes as he was flanked left and right by several scientists who also helped set this place up.
The night sky was cloudy as a storm was brewing so Emil wasted no time as he addressed the crowd.
"Hello ladies and gentlemen of Brockton Bay. My name is Emil Hamilton and the lead scientist of Star Labs and today I am proud to announce that Brockton Bay will be sent forward into the future thanks to this revolutionary technology as we have designed. So, in just a few moments we will activate the machine and push the world into the future." Emil said to the crowd as everyone started clapping out of respect.
Now running towards Star Labs from a good distance away is a young man known as Jin Chen. Now Jin is working at Star Labs as a secretary and janitor and even though he had the day off he wanted to see this event in person instead of watching it on the news.
Now Jin has bronzed skin with an athletic build as he has black hair done in a top knot on his head along with black eyes and he is wearing a simple blue T-shirt with blue jeans and black sneakers.
"Damn it. I'm so late." Jin cursed to himself as he ran and soon enough, he came up to the crowd of Star Labs as thunder crackled in the air which caused a few people to leave but Jin was still stuck in the back behind the large group of people.
"Wait…What's up with the sky?" Jin asked himself as he looked up and saw that the clouds were a bit strange looking as the clouds actually seemed to have some sort of purplish tint to them.
"Now without further delay we will start up our machine." Emil said to the crowd who once again started clapping as Emil reached into his lab coat and took out a remote as he pressed a button and for a long moment of time nobody heard anything but suddenly they all heard a loud humming noise and the entirety of Star Labs lit up with light and the entire area started changing as street lights grew brighter but before anything else could happen several bolts of lightning struck Star Labs or more specifically it struck the revolutionary machine.
Many people ran as the machine let out a massive boom noise as a section of Star Labs had exploded but the people who ran weren't safe as another explosion came but this one was different as a massive concussive wave of multicolored energy that quickly travels all over the city of Brockton Bay and hit every living being within the city but oddly the concussive force hardly effected the buildings and only seemed to harm biological organisms.
Jin was one of the ones who was affected worst of all as he happened to get struck by a bolt of lightning as the concussive force hit him, but this bolt of lightning wasn't normal. It was a pure black color and the force of that lightning strike plus the force of energy that came from Star Labs was more than enough to lift Jin off his feet and send him crashing into a nearby car which several cracked the car windshield.
Today was February six of two-thousand twenty-one and for the rest of the United States this day will be remembered as the day that Star Labs had created a new generation of Metahumans.

Location: Brockton Bay/Mercury Hospital
'Where am I?' Jin asked himself as he woke up and suddenly saw that he is inside of a hospital room and the sensation in his throat had told him that he was attached to some sort of breathing machine or possibly a machine that fed him food as the sensation was uncomfortable and Jin quickly started to hate it but knew that he couldn't do anything about it.
Jin's head rested on a pillow, and he was able to move his head as he looked around the room and saw that the room was terribly bland looking and he didn't even have a tv in the room and surprisingly there was a actual card on the table next to his bed.
Now Jin raised his hand to grab the card and discovered that his body felt different. His body was a strange mixture of lightness and heaviness. His arm felt like it was moving through quicksand despite being unhindered by anything other than air as he carefully picked up the card and opened it.
Hello Jin. This letter is from the lead scientist of Star Labs known as Emil Hamilton and I would like to speak with you once you are discharged from the hospital and don't worry about the medical bills. They have been taken care of by me.
Jin simply looked on at the letter with confusion as he didn't know why a scientist like Emil would want to speak with him, but he also didn't see any point in turning the man down since he was his boss, and he didn't want to look bad or anything.
After Jin put the card down, he suddenly had a massive headache and he felt like his eyes, ears and nose was on fire. It hurt so much that he felt like he was going to scream, and the pain kept rising until Jin closed his eyes and suddenly when he opened them, he couldn't see…Not in the traditional sense but he saw everything around him in a full 360 degrees.
The way he saw everything was in shades of grey and shadows and when Jin looked around, he suddenly felt the pain fade away as quickly as it appeared and for what felt like hours he looked on with this new type of vision until a nurse came in and the strange new vision he felt suddenly vanished.
Now the nurse removed the medical device from his mouth and throat and had him looked over before letting him rest for a bit before bringing him a set of clothes that Emil had sent him as the clothes were a basic gray hoodie with blue jeans and socks with sneakers and soon enough Jin was leaving the hospital and made his way to Star Labs to speak with Emil.
Now when Emil made his way to Star Labs near the Boardwalk, he noticed that the area now had a large fence around it but the gate was opened so he walked in and saw parts of the building had been spray painted and the pain said words of hatred towards Emil Hamilton and the workers of Star Labs.
"The security guards aren't even here." Jin said as this building normally had guards posted to provent theft and what not, but the outside of this building was completely abandoned.
Now Jin made his way through the front door and saw that the inside of this place was equally devoid of life as he began moving around though this laboratory building in confusion.
"Jin you've made it." A voice said from a room nearby in a long hallway as Jin looked to the left and saw the lead security guard of Star Labs as this man is known as Michael Washington Lane.
Michael stands at six foot two with a built body build which showed that he spent a good chunk of time working out. He has fair skin with black hair cut low to his head and brown eyes as he is wearing a white T-shirt underneath a heavy-duty security vest with baggy cargo pants with a knife holster attached to the right outer thigh which held a sizeable combat knife, and he is also sporting heavy combat boots.
"Don't sound to surprised Michael." Jin said back as Michael's tone wasn't of concern but instead it was a tone of indifference.
"Emil is waiting for you." Michael said as he moved out of the doorway and let Jin through as he came into a mechanical laboratory room where he saw Emil sitting in a chair in front of the wall mounted tv as he was looking at the news as more and more reports of metahuman related crimes was coming up in the news.
"Jin you're here." Emil said as he lowered the volume on the tv and got up to shake Jin's hand as the two of them shook hands before Jin spoke up.
"Why did you want to see me boss?" Jin asked bluntly.
"You can just call me Emil and I wanted to see you to talk with you a bit and maybe run a few tests." Emil explained as Jin was a bit confused.
"Emil I'm pretty sure that the hospital has run several tests on me while I was out cold and, on that note, how long have, I been out? A week or something?" Jin asked as Emil looked down for a moment before looking back up and talking to Jin.
"Jin I don't know how to tell you this but you've been out cold for several months now." Emil said and that took Jin of guard for a moment as he was taken back by Emil's words.
"What?" Jin asked with wide eyes.
"Jin. The date is the eleventh of August." Emil said as Jin looked back at Michael who closed his eyes and let out a deep breath as he looked away.
"I've been in the hospital for six months?" Jin asked grimly as he lowered his head in shock.
"I'm afraid so. Now the reason I want to run tests on you is because I need to confirm if you have become one of the new generations Metahumans." Emil said as Jin had to take a seat in a nearby chair as he took all of this in.
"First you tell me that I've been in a coma and now you're trying to run tests on me to see if I've become one of those metahumans." Jin said as he saw the news a few times and knew about Metahumans like the Flash or the Elongated Man, but he never thought that he would become one.
"I'm afraid so. Now the event that placed you in a coma has also genetically altered several people and since you were affected by the wave as well as being struck by lightning, I want to make sure that your biology is still relatively normal." Emil said with his own form of bluntness as Jin felt like he was about to fall over and pass out.
So, after Emil gave Jin a moment to collect himself, he took a deep breath before responding.
"In the hospital. Something weird happened to me." Jin said before he finally noticed how long his hair had gotten as it was messy and unkept as it reached down to his shoulders.
"What happened?" Emil asked as he pulled up his own seat and sat across from Jin as Jin explained the bizarre event that happened to him at the hospital which only served to convince Jin to try these tests so he could figure out what was going on with him and after agreeing to the test Jin was placed through various tests of mental abilities and physical capabilities in this massive lab building thanks to the various equipment that was all over the place.

A/N: New story and this is a new take on the Worm and DC universes because I came to the realization that if comics and tv shows can change canon into whatever they want. Then why can't I? Also, this story will have Dishonored influence as well.
