So this is my first NBB fanfic, so go easy on me with it! :) Xx
5 years old Alex Wolff is your typical American little boy, he loves to play with his friends from school and he also idolizes his big brother, Nat Wolff, he always wanted to be like his big brother and wanted to follow him everywhere Nat and his best friends Thomas, David and Cooper go. Alex ran into his and Nat's bedroom to see his 8 years old big brother Nat getting ready to gang out with his friends. "Natty! Come play with me!" Alex beamed at his brother.
Nat rolled his eyes.
"No Alex, I wanna play with my friends" Nat tells him.
"Can I come?" Alex asked, his eyes lighting up like a Christmas tree.
Nat lets out an annoyed sigh.
"No Alex, I need space from you." Nat said. "I want to hang out with my friends and not be around you all the time."
"Why not?" Alex asked.
"Because I don't want to!" Nat snapped, getting frustrated.
"But I love you." Alex spoke.
"Well I don't!" Nat shouted. "Now get out!"
He shoved Alex out of the room before slamming the door in his face. Alex stood there dumbfounded and sad, he walked down the hall and sat at the counter of the kitchen while resting his chin on his arm, tearing sad and hurt.
"Hey buddy." He heard his father, Michael Wolff, say as he entered the kitchen. "How's my little drummer boy doing?"
Michael saw his youngest son crying.
"Alex, what's wrong son?" Michael asked, worrying.
"Nat yelled at me." Alex said as he looked up at his father. "And he said he doesn't love me either."
Michael felt his heart break.
"Now Alex, you know very well that your brother loves you very, very much." He assured him.
"Really?" Alex asked.
Michael nods his head.
"Yes." He answers. "Now go watch cartoons while I have a talk with Nat."
Alex walked over to the couch and sat down, before turning on the TV. Michael let out a sigh as he walked over to the boys' bedroom door and knocked on the door.
"Nat?" Michael asked as he opened the door to see his eldest son putting on his coat. "We need to talk."
"Can we talk later, dad?" He asked. "I promised the fellas that I would meet up with them in the park."
"You're not gonna go anywhere son." Michael spoke.
"Why not?" Nat asked. "Is it because of Alex?"
"Son, you made him feel awful." Michael said to him.
"He'll get over it." Nat says. "It doesn't matter."
"It does matter, young man!" Michael snapped.
Nat looked at his father, dumbfounded.
"Especially when a little boy feels like his own brother hates him." He adds.
Nat felt his little heart sink.
"B-but I don't hate him." Nat said quietly. "I just…wanna to hang out with my friends."
"So hanging out with your friends is more important to play with your little brother who adores and idolizes you?" Michael asked.
Nat looks down, feeling really awful.
"Listen son, I know I may not be good at being a strict parent." Michael starts. "And I know you want to play with your friends and all, but Alex really wants to play with his big brother who he adores, idolizes and looks up too."
Nat lets out a sigh.
"But I'm not gonna force you, so it's your choice." He adds as he ruffles his hair before leaving the bedroom.
Nat looks up the picture frame on the dresser of him and Alex on Alex's 2nd birthday. He smiled a little to himself, he loved being the big brother to Alex. Protecting him, teasing him and of course, being there for him. He knew that Alex looked up to him since they were small tots.
~Out In The Living room~
Alex was watching the classic cartoon, "The Looney Toons", he looked up to see Nat grabbing the remote from him.
"C'mon." Nat spoke as he turned the TV off.
"Huh?" Alex asked, confused.
Nat chuckled at him.
"I said let's go buddy." Nat smiled as Alex stood up. "I'm gonna teach you how to throw a baseball."
"Why?" Alex asked again.
Nat awed at him and looked behind him to see his father and their babysitter, Jesse cook, at the counter, smiling at the brotherly interactions before looking back at Alex.
"Because you're my baby brother." Nat tells him. "It'll always be you and me, Ally."
Nat gave Alex a nickname, "Ally" when he started talking. He was the only one who can call him, "Ally".
"You do love me?" Alex asked.
Nat laughs a little.
"Of course, ya dork." He smiled. "Come on."
He took his cap off and put it on Alex's head, who beamed up at him.
"I love you big brother!" Alex said, hugging him.
Nat hugged him tightly.
"I love you too, baby brother." He said, kissing his head. "Come on."
He draped his arm over Alex's shoulder as they walked down the hall with Jesse behind them. Michael smiled at his boys, he wished he could have a tight brotherly relationship with his younger brother.
