Jaune grunted as he slid onto the soft bed. The Argus Express rattled around him, creating constant noise he was both used and unused to. Having been on a team with Nora Valkyrie for so long had made him used to noise, but so long in Mistral's wilderness had left him unused to the feeling of mechanical noise and stuff made by humanity and its inventions.

Civilisation. He was unused to the feeling of civilization.

A sigh escaped him as the door to the train compartment opened with a hiss. He looked up, expecting Nora or Ren or Oscar, only to see Weiss standing in the doorway, wearing a simple white shift.

He blinked, and gaped at her, and her face grew redder as she stood in the doorway with neither saying anything and him just gawking at her.

"Oh for the love of!" Yang groaned, shoving Weiss into the room and causing her to yell angrily as she nearly toppled over. "Just bang already!"

With those eloquent words she slammed the door to their train compartment shut, and Jaune saw Ruby and Blake pass by, Ruby giggling and Blake smiling amusedly. Then Ren came into view, the stoic boy giving Jaune a smile and a wink as he tied something to the doorknob of the door before wandering off.

Weiss stomped over to the door and pulled the blinds to the glass window of it shut with a huff, before turning around and giving him a stern look as well as a pointed finger.

"We will not be doing anything like that for the foreseeable future mister. Understood?"

"Crystal clear ma'am." Jaune replied, giving her a lazy salute before rolling out of bed and wandering over to her. "Not that I'm complaining being able to spend some alone time with you, but what's going on exactly?"

"I made the mistake of admitting to my team I wouldn't mind some alone time with you." Weiss answered, sighing slightly before walking over to him and accepting his open armed offer, letting out another, more content sigh as she nuzzled her head into his chest. "They mistook that as me wanting to take our relationship to the next level."

"I see." Jaune replied, gently stroking her back and he felt her shift nervously in his arms.

"Jaune?"

"Yes, Snow Angel?"

"S-Stop it!" She whined, making him chuckle before she fell serious and quiet again. "Y-You don't mind waiting? F-For that, I mean."

"Of course not." Jaune told her sincerely. "I don't care if I have to wait a decade or we never do it. I'm not dating you because I want sex Weiss, I'm dating you because you are you and I love that. I wouldn't mind…you know, but it's not a deal-breaker if we don't."

"Ever?" She gasped quietly. "You'd stay with me even if we never…"

"Yup." Jaune grinned, giving her forehead a quick peck that made her red face turn into a tomato face. "I gave you a promise, remember? And-"

"An Arc never goes back on their word." Weiss finished, smiling up at him and eyes sparkling. "I love you, you dork."

"Love you too Snow Angel." He replied, kissing her properly, feeling her melt against him as their tongues explored one another passionately. "We can still cuddle though right?"

"Obviously." Weiss scoffed, dragging him over to his bed, a bottom bunk. They got comfortable until they were curled up together, Weiss the little spoon and he the big, the blankets warm and stuffy over them.

"Hey Weiss?" Jaune asked, feeling his skin start to feel clammy with sweat after just a few minutes of resting there. "Do you mind if I take my shirt off?"

"P-Pardon?" Weiss demanded, head turning so suddenly the long, let down locks of her pale her whipped into his face.

"Just my shirt!" Jaune replied, quickly, swallowing nervously at the odd look she gave him. "I'm getting sweaty is all."

Wordlessly she nodded, so he gently unwrapped his arms from around her and shrugged off his shirt, keenly aware of her icy blue eyes watching him as he did so. He practically jumped out of his skin when he felt her hand press against the small of his back, gently running her fingers over an old, jagged scar there.

"Where did you get this?" She asked quietly, and he thought back for a moment before turning around to face her and answering the question.

"A week after me, Ruby, Nora and Ren set off for Mistral. We got on a boat and a few days before finally reaching Mistral's coast we were attacked by some sort of aquatic Grimm. It had a lot of tentacles I couldn't keep track of and it managed to score a lucky hit on me before Nora blew it up with her grenades."

She didn't say anything, and her face was inscrutable. As the silence dragged on without her saying anything he pointed to her own scar on her face.

"What about you? Where did you get that?" He asked, and her eyes flickered up to meet his, as if they were having some sort of wordless conversation. He had no idea what Weiss was saying or thinking he was saying back, but eventually she nodded and answered, voice barely more than a husky whisper.

"I was fighting an Arma Gigas. My father wanted me to prove my worth as a Huntress before he agreed to send me to Beacon. It was part of my own…pre-Initiation initiation if you will."

Jaune nodded, cocking his head and cupping her cheek in his hand.

"You're beautiful. You know that right?" He asked softly, enjoying the way he could practically feel her cheek explode with heat as blood rushed to it and her face reddened once again. It was adorable.

"I-I know you idiot." Weiss replied, though her words were without heat and she shuffled closer to him. "You're not too shabby yourself."

Jaune smiled at her and she nuzzled her head against his shoulder, letting out a content hum before speaking again.

"Do you have any more scars?" She asked eventually, and he fell silent before nodding and shifting her slightly so he could show her so he could tilt his neck and reveal the small scar nicked against the skin of his left shoulder. "How did you get that?"

"Pyrrha." He answered quietly, unable to hide the bitterness and grief with which he said the name of his old partner. "At Initiation she saved my life, but I wasn't prepared and she accidentally gave me this. I didn't even realise I had it until…after."

He could feel Weiss' tenseness, and he cursed his stupidity. You don't just bring up exes like that, let alone dead ones you still mourned over.

"I have one more scar as well." Weiss said after a few moments of stifling silence, she leaned up so she was sat next to him. "Would you like to see?"

He nodded, before his eyes widened as her hands fell to the hem of her shift and she tugged it upwards, revealing long, pale legs, lacy blue panties and a toned, slim stomach with a jagged pink cut cutting straight down the middle of it.

"I-Is that?" He asked quietly, and she cut him off by pressing a finger to his lips.

"It is. It's the wound Cinder gave me at Haven." Weiss paused, before lowering her shift again until it covered her. "I know you don't always think the best of yourself Jaune. I can't help but feel partially responsible for that, I wasn't exactly…diplomatic back at Beacon. But I want you to know here and now that you are one of the best things to happen to me, and even if I had the opportunity to change time, to make my family feel like a family, I wouldn't do it if it meant not having you in my life with me now. I love you, because you are an amazing, kind, honourable, chivalrous young man who makes me happy…and I hope I make you happy too."

"You do!" Jaune said quickly, sitting up quickly and embracing her tightly. "You make me the happiest man alive!"

She smiled into his shoulder, her small hands sliding around to his back and holding him just as tightly as he did her.

They slid back under the sheets together, Weiss the little spoon and Jaune the big spoon, the rattling sounds of the Argus Express echoing around them as they found themselves drifting into a blissful sleep together side by side.
