In another universe, one with an alternate reality, the moon goddess Kaguya would descend upon the world and gift humanity with the power of chakra giving way to the destructive era of Shinobi. Another time, the celestial beings known as the Otsutsuki came to earth for a different reason.
The Otsutsuki had never taken up their doctrine of Otsutsuki ni Ishi, a doctrine which dictates that clan members consume the life energy and genetics of other worlds to continuously evolve, with the ultimate goal of attaining godhood.
The Otsutsuki had been more advanced technologically than spiritually. Not only that but they were in danger.
While naturally long-lived without taking the energy from planets made them significantly weaker. Already being few they were under threat of extinction as well. As the years pass the number of their people only gets smaller and smaller. With dozens of threats from all corners of the galaxy, they needed to find the ones to pass their knowledge to.
That's when the Otsutsuki found their last hope.
Humanity.
A young race with the potential to create new prosperity and destroy great threats, they chose the people of Earth as their champions. They went to Earth and began their teachings. Under the guidance of the Otsutsuki, the Earth began to prosper. Technology skyrocketed but others began to take notice.
In their rush to uplift humanity, the Otsutsuki had been too hasty. Their enemies knew where they were and what they were doing. None of them were content to sit around and let it happen.
In a desperate attempt to stave off the threats from the void. The Otsutsuki unlocked the destructive potential of humanity. With the power of Chakra, the docile and peaceful nature that the Otsutsuki had been cultivating was torn off. Now with this power humanity showed its cunning and ambition. Great navies were built, and they began to claim worlds around Earth.
As they did the first threat had arrived at their doorstep.
In the year 1143 Humanity finally settled on the first planet outside of its home solar system. It lay in the Alpha Centauri system. The closest planetary system to Earth is nearly four light years away. The planet Phaethon had been settled by four million people within a decade of its founding.
The Otsutsuki or the First Ones as the humans called the advanced race, had warned them about the potential dangers of expanding too soon. They claimed that Earth and its people were not ready to face the challenges that lurked in the cold void.
The humans claimed otherwise.
Before the First Ones came along humans had been in an eternal war with each other. Be it land, resources, greed, or religion. Wars were waged for all of those reasons and more. Humanity was not a stranger to struggle. As such, they thought themselves ready for anything.
How wrong they were.
In 1152 humanity had made their second contact with an alien species. Unlike the First Ones, these aliens were machines—cold and synthetic. Upon seeing humanity they viewed the fledgling race to be inferior and when they had made the connection between them and the First Ones, they deemed humanity unworthy of their technological advancements.
Without warning, they attack the Phaethon colony. Its defense fleet, composed of nearly eighty ships, was struck unawares. The surprise attack had cost humanity their innocents. Once they believed that with the help of the First Ones the galaxy was theirs to explore. Now with their fleet crippled having only nine ships surviving the attack while the colony was wiped from existence fear and resentment began to fester in the hearts of the human race.
Upon demanding the nature of this enemy the First Ones revealed much about their attacker. They called themselves Cylons. A machine race dedicated to the extermination of advanced organic species. They used nuclear and conventional weapons that were considered primitive to the First One's technology, but their six-pronged vessels called Basestars boasted shield technology. Something that neither humanity nor the First Ones had.
With this information, the two sides clashed. Humanities High-Pressure Beam Cannons—a high-energy beam of atomic and subatomic particles that disrupts their targets' atomic and molecular structure. vs. the Cylon Energy Deflectors—an energy-draining deflector screen that can halt limited amounts of enemy fire before overloading.
The two advanced technologies kept the sides of the war at a stalemate. Every time Humanity forced the Cylons back with their destructive fleets, the Cylons would counter with their higher endurance.
In the end, humanity broke the stalemate. With the combined force of two hundred and forty-seven warships of mixed classes, the United Nations Cosmo Navy managed to push the Cylons out of the ten-light-year zone around Earth and passed Epsilon Eridani. By defeating the Cylons humanity had cemented its first steps onto the galactic stage.
Over the next twenty years, constant fighting would push humanity back and forth but never once had an enemy gotten within five lightyears of either Earth or Alpha Centauri.
A.N.I had been wanting to write a Space-based Fic for some time now and I felt like my Naruto/Star Trek and Naruto/Star Wars FanFictions had been flops. This time I want to try something different. "The Struggle of Being Young in the Void," Is influenced by a plethora of different series. This includes Babylon 5, Battlestar Galactica, Halo, Mass Effect, Star Blazers, Star Trek, and Star Wars. While I will be putting this story as Naruto/X-Over it is not solely Naruto. I'm just using a lot more elements from it than others. I will be stealing characters from other anime and games for this as well.
For a little more in-depth information about "The Struggle of Being Young in the Void," I'm not making Humanity overpowered, at least not for some time. Earth and Humanity will have limited Chakra abilities (and I mean bare basic) such as Wall and Water walking as well as generally more stamina and endurance. The ships used by humanity will solely be based on those used in Uchuu Senkan Yamato or Star Blazers 2199. For better visual representation I recommend the site Yamato2202. net. From there go to "Character & Mechanic." The mechanic part will have all of the ships I'll be using.
Earth Will be in a similar position it was in Star Trek with the Otsutsuki being like the Vulcans while around them they will be constantly challenged by threats and other galactic governments from other series.
I hope you all have enjoyed this first little sample. More will come in time. I'll do my best not to cancel or abandon this story. With me Luck!
