A/N: Hello everyone, hello Marvel fandom this here is a story that might require some context. This story is part of my Collective Chronicles series which features a multiverse of villains operating in various worlds and fandoms. This time I've set it in the Marvel universe because of this new fun story idea. There are other stories in this series in other fandoms but you do not need to read them in order to understand this one since the stories work perfectly well on their own. Without further ado let's get into the story.
Kate Bishop was known for many things. Being a confident practitioner of all sport related activities she could find. Up until recently donning the new mantle of Hawkeye, under Clint Barton and also as of last week, the new CEO of Bishop Security.
With her mother behind bars for consolidating with one of the most notorious crime lords in all of New York, it was left to Kate to take over the reins of the company. Something she had no idea about it and or experience off so her first week started off as well as it could have with her missing three meetings and struggling to stay awake during them.
Even now sitting in her new office, dressed in a fancy black suit, rubbing her temples profusely due to the mountain of paperwork she had to go over. She wasn't made for this kind of life no matter how much her mother wanted her to inherit the family business.
Regardless luckily she wasn't alone. At least she had one familiar face within the company. And he just so happened to walk into her office with a cup of coffee and a box full of pastries in his hands. Walking up to her desk and placing both carefully on it with a smile.
"Here you go sweety!" Jack Duquesne said to her.
"Thank you Jack, you're a lifesaver" Kate said with relief as she immediately began to drink the coffee.
Kate was happy her former stepfather-to-be was helping her with the company. After her mother had been arrested and Jack was cleared of all suspicion involving his uncle's death, when Kate was given the position of CEO of the company, Jack immediately offered to help her in anyway possible. And Kate was relieved and grateful for his help.
He may not have become officially her stepfather, but he had become as close as a father figure to Kate as could be, and she truly appreciated that.
Grabbing a pasty from the box and taking a bite, Kate reveled in the sugary goodness of it all.
"My God! Jack you have great taste. I needed this, this work is so overwhelming!" she said with a stuffed mouth.
Jack took a seat in front of her desk "I can always take some of the workload of you."
"No I can't ask that of you. This company is my responsibility now so I have to take it, you know I can handle anything right?" she said as she continued to eat.
"Even the greatest heroes need help sometime sweety," Jack said affectionately "besides didn't you have an interview about a job application you needed to go to."
"Yeah it's just…there's something weird about it" Kate said as she grabbed the file of job applications, which was only one and gave it to Jack.
"What could be so strange about a job application?" Jack wondered as he grabbed his glasses and looked at it.
"Well I've looked this guy up to see if I could find something about him and get a little bit of information but…this guy is almost like a ghost. Like I couldn't find anything about him, no records as far as I know, no history of schooling not even immediate family. It's like this person never existed" Kate explained as she grabbed another pastry and shoved it into her mouth, manners be damned.
"That is indeed odd," Jack said casually as he returned the paper to the desk, placing his glasses in his breast pocket "what is this person's name."
Kate waited a moment as she finished her bite of food before answering softly.
"Peter Parker."
At that moment they heard a sound above them, seeing a flock of black birds on top of the glass ceiling, apparently multiple where ganging up on another one, who angrily shrieked before flying away from the building, leaving Kate and Jack looking at it curiously.
"Well you don't see that every day" Jack noted casually.
"No you don't" Kate replied unassumingly.
Miles away the solitary and unassuming black bird flew into an alleyway and disappeared behind a trashcan. Seconds later a wild black haired woman with crimson eyes, dressed in red black stepped out of it. A large sword at her side. She walked over to the nearby metal door and banged on it.
"Password?" said the voice on the other side, clearly someone with an accent.
"Not in the mood Helmut just let me in!" the woman scowled.
The metal door opened and in sight came none other then the man who broke the Avengers apart years ago, Baron Helmut Zemo. Dressed in his familiar grey coat with purple lining and purple undershirt, the only new thing was a cane in his hand which he seemed to use to support himself and keep himself upright.
"Ah Raven back already," he said casually as he stepped away from the door allowing her to pass before closing it "what have you learned?"
The two walked towards the big room, which only had a giant table with two chairs. A perfect and unassuming hideout for them.
The woman known as Raven pulled out one of the chairs and sat down in it, her feet on the table as Zemo took the other chair, silently sitting down on it, placing his cane on the table.
"I learned nothing that's what! I don't even understand why he send us here of all places to keep tabs on some girl in a high up position!" Raven exclaimed throwing her hands up in the air.
"Our Lord Titan knows what he's doing. If he send us here that means this girl is somehow either part of his plans or she could be an obstacle to it. Regardless we should keep watch over her" Zemo responded calmly.
Raven groaned, pinching the bridge of her nose in annoyance "this is ridiculous we are an organization made up of some of the most powerful and resourceful members in the Multiverse and I'm stuck on babysitting duty with a cripple."
Zemo shrugged his shoulders. Not fazed by the insult.
"I'm out of here I have better things to do" Raven said as she stood up, as soon as she did a massive light appeared behind her. Zemo's head turned to see the flash of light turn into a swirling vortex. A portal has opened.
Through the portal a man appeared. Tall and dressed in red and grey, his face half scarred, almost looking like it had been poisoned long ago, his eye left eye completely black with an orange iris. Dressed in a long grey and red coat with his hands planted on his back. The moment he stepped forward and the portal behind him disappeared Raven stepped back.
"Ah Mr. Silco, what brings you here?" Zemo asked politely.
The man known as Silco scanned the man and woman in front of him before making his way to the table they where sitting on and placing his hands on it.
"The Lord Titan has send me. He wonders why you haven't made any progress?" he asks direct and cold.
"I have been observing that building and that girl for the past two days!" Raven shouted in annoyance "he told us to infiltrate Bishop security since we needed to find something there but he didn't tell us what? How are we supposed to get this thing if we don't even know what we're looking for."
Silco looked at her with his cold emotionless expression saying "you are privy to that information when you make progress and you haven't yet."
Hands on her hips, her fingers just itching to grab her sword Raven just replied with "well I have to do all the work here since Helmut here refuses to leave this safehouse."
"Well I am sort of a wanted man here so me walking the streets may not be the best thing" Zemo responded.
Raven walked over to him, grabbed his cane from the table and throwing it to the side.
"I have been on that rooftop assaulted by other birds, following that girl every which way possible in order to find answers when we could've simply go into that building the old fashioned way and get what we need."
"Going in with a full frontal attack on a well known company in the middle of busy New York. We might as well wear a neon sign to advertise or arrival."
The two started arguing back and forth. Not an uncommon occurrence since arriving in New York, but before it could go much further a sudden purple blast soared past the two and blew a hole in the wall behind them. The normally calm and composed Zemo looked worried and Raven gulped audibly as they both turned to the origin of the blast.
A metallic grey device was attached to Silco's right hand, a purple liquid seeming to power it. He pulled back his hand and shouted "enough of your blathering! Sit down!"
Raven didn't need to be taught twice and sat down on the nearby chair.
"The Lord Titan entrusted you with this mission and all you seem to do is bicker and make excuses and I will not stand for this. I have made your objective perfectly clear and you will accomplish it! Is that understood!."
"Yes sir!" the pair responded, noticeably out of character.
"Good" Silco said as he grabbed a device from his pocket and pushed the red button on it, as soon as he did a portal appeared before him. He turned to the pair once more and told them sternly "and make sure I don't have to come here and tell you again."
And with that he disappeared through the portal. Leaving Raven and Zemo alone and slightly in shock as they looked at each other.
"Well….time for Plan B" Zemo said to which Raven nodded silently in agreement.
A/N: So there we are the start of a new story which if you haven't already guessed will be mostly Peter/Kate focused since I find this shipping unique and want to see where we can take them. So let's go ahead and see what we can do with this story.
