"Invite me to hangout with you after work."
"You're tired of being a hermit? Wow."
"Give me an invite."
"Did you go to happy hour on your lunch break? You are never this happy without alcohol."
"No, I want to go somewhere lively for a few hours."
Marcus side eyed Olivia, and she laughed. He'd been in New York two weeks, and now that he was back in DC Olivia seemed like a different person.
"Who are you, and where is my friend?"
"You're funny."
"I don't know what universe you are from, but you're not my friend Olivia."
The lights flickered and Olivia's phone chimed in her pocket.
"Is it a solar storm or something? The lights were flickering in New York when I was there."
Olivia read the message, Tell Fitz I'm going to bring him home. I love him... doux bébé Livvie.
"Sweet baby Livvie?"
"Who's flirting with you?" Marcus teased.
"Nothing, let's go somewhere fun," Olivia said, putting the phone in her pocket.
"Is it that guy who's looking for you? I think his name is Fitzgerald..."
"How do you know that?"
"He came to Mellie's office asking about OPA and Olivia Pope."
"What was that?" Olivia said, when the floor shook slightly and the lights flickered again.
"An earthquake?" Marcus said.
"We don't get earthquakes in DC."
"You bought a painting when I was in New York?" Marcus asked, noticing the conference room looked slightly different.
"No," I don't know how that got there..."
"Liv, you said you were taking the day off. What are you doing in the office, and who's your friend?" Jake asked, kissing her forehead and taking a seat.
"Who the hell are you?" Olivia said.
"You don't know this guy?" Marcus asked.
"No."
The ground shook again, the lights flickered and the painting was gone.
"Who was that guy, and where did he go? Where's the painting?" Marcus said.
"I don't know..."
The lights flickered again, and Olivia screamed when Jake reappeared along with Quinn and Huck, sitting at the conference table for a quick second and then disappeared.
"Did you see that!" Olivia said.
"Yeah, this isn't a solar storm," Marcus said.
"What do you think it is?"
"I don't know. Maybe we're both tired and seeing things."
"That doesn't explain the earthquake and lights flickering."
"It will probably be on the news. Let's go. I have plans to meet up with Mellie and Harrison."
At the bar after work, Olivia couldn't get her mind off the guy in her office. He kissed her, so he had to be more than a colleague. Huck was there. A different Huck...not her friend. Olivia had made up her mind that she was going to call Angela. She had to start looking for answers, and Angela was the only inside person she knew besides Edison.
"Liv, I'm glad you're joining us for drinks!" Mellie said.
"Yeah, I'm trying to leave my apartment more often."
'A guy came by my office asking about you. Fitzgerald Grant."
"I spoke with him."
"He seemed panicked about something. I hope he's okay."
"Yeah, Fitz is okay."
"I think he wants more than your professional services," Mellie teased, with a laugh.
"Maybe he does."
"I want to meet the guy," Marcus said.
"I don't know how long he's going to be here."
"Oh, it's one of those kinds of relationships," Marcus said.
"We're not in a relationship."
"Did you guys notice the earthquake?" Harrison asked.
"Yeah," Mellie said. "I drank too much in my office because I was seeing people who weren't really there for a few seconds."
"Who did you see?" Marcus asked.
"I don't know."
"I'm going to get home before I drink too much alcohol."
"You just got here." Mellie said.
"Yeah, we'll hang out again sometime."
Olivia couldn't stop thinking about the time slip in her office. Was Huck right about the worlds intertangling? If so, what did it mean for everyone? She felt like she was in the middle of a mystery she couldn't solve. She'd even tried getting help from Maya. She laughed at Olivia and let her know the gypsy gig was entertainment. She called Fitz and asked him to stay the night with her. Neither of them called what they had a relationship, but it was something.
"It's freezing in here," Livvie said, with her eyes closed, she was too tired to raise the temperature. The last few days, the electricity was going out randomly all over the city. She was still sending messages and not getting a response. She turned over and snuggled closer into Jake for warmth. He must have invited himself over when she fell asleep. She opened her eyes when she felt softness and smelled a faint scent that she used to wear a long time ago. Her head wasn't snuggled in Jake's neck, and her arm wasn't draped over him. He wore cotton not satin. She raised her hand higher and felt soft curls. Livvie moved back quickly and turned on her lamp. She covered her mouth when she saw herself. She inched further away and bumped into someone on the other side of her.
"Fitz!"
The noise woke the other Olivia. She sat up, startled and screamed when she saw herself and Fitz. She also moved backward and fell on the floor, except she hit the nightstand on her side head first before landing on the floor.
"Ouch!" She moaned, holding her head.
"Who are you?!" Livvie yelled, seeing herself.
"I should be asking you that," Olivia groaned, still holding her head.
"How did you get in my home?"
"You're Livvie?"
Olivia looked around. Everything was exactly the same. She tried to stay calm. This wasn't the first time realities shifted. This wasn't lights flickering or a text message. She was in another universe having a conversation with herself. She felt a tinge of jealousy seeing Livvie. She was gorgeous. This is the woman Fitz called the love of his life. How is it possible to be jealous of yourself?
"How are you here?!" Livvie yelled.
"I don't know. Get me an ice pack!"
Livvie walked backward to the hallway, to baffled to not stare at herself sitting on the floor. She thought about calling Jake but changed her mind. He couldn't fix this.
"Can you control our communication?" Livive asked, giving Olivia the ice pack.
"No, my friend Huck said something about the universes combining."
"Huck! What does he know about this?"
"I don't know."
Livvie studied Olivia and her lip quivered when she looked into her own eyes. She could see it despite Olivia trying to hide it, "You had sex with Fitz."
"Livvie..."
"Twice right. I know I'm right. You can't keep anything from me. I can feel your emotions when you're here with me."
"So can I," Olivia said.
"You can't have him. He's mine."
They were so in shock with seeing their cosmic twin, that they almost forgot about Fitz still in a deep sleep. He groaned and covered his head with a pillow. The scotch gave him a headache. He kept refilling his glass until they fell asleep.
"Fitz!" Livvie screamed, he opened his eyes and looked at both of them.
The lights flickered and the ground shook. When he opened his eyes again, his Livvie was gone.
"Was it a dream?" He said, with bleary eyes looking around.
"No, it was real," Olivia said, holding the ice pack to her head.
