"It's finally happening!" Cassie squealed.
The egg shattered, revealing a small purple Pokemon in its place.
"Ty?" The Pokemon said, before taking an offensive stance, tackling Pikachu off the table.
"Professor?!" Ash asked.
"It's a Tyrogue, a fighting type Pokemon." Professor Elm said.
"Jigglypuff use Sing!" Ash called out.
Ash covered his ears quickly as Jigglypuff gave off a melody, putting the surrounding people and Pokemon to sleep.
A while later
"Does it normally take this long for everyone to wake up?" Ash asked.
"Yep. Don't even get me started on how boring it was before you came up with those earplugs. I'd have to wait forever for you to wake up." Cassie said. "Shouldn't you be capturing Tyrogue right now?"
"No, Egguardo is a good Pokemon, I know he is." Ash said, looking at the sleeping fighting type.
"So we're just letting him be out." Cassie questioned.
"No, but forcing him into a Pokeball can't be the right choice." Ash said. "Maybe the Pokedex can tell me something useful."
'Tyrogue, the Scuffle Pokemon, a fighting type. Even though it is small, it can't be ignored because it will slug any handy target without warning.' The Pokedex said.
"Can you check it's moves like you do with your other Pokemon?" Cassie asked.
"No, it only showed those because they were caught." Ash admitted. "But it seems like he wants a fight."
"You can't be serious." Cassie said.
"Come on help me move him and Pikachu outside." Ash said, returning his other Pokemon.
"How?!" Cassie shouted with a laugh.
A bit later outside
"Thank you for waking me up Ash." Professor Elm said. ""Now are you sure about this?"
"The Pokedex said Tyrogue was looking for a fight, so I think we should give him one." Ash said. "And he already picked his opponent with Pikachu."
"Pika!" Pikachu said affirmingly.
"Alright then, let's wake up Tyrogue." Professor Elm said, grabbing a bucket of water and swinging it.
The water shot right over Tyrogue, while the bucket slipped from Professor Elm's hands, and hit right onto the sleeping fighting types head.
"Uh oh." Cassie said.
"Professor, you may want to get back." Ash warned.
"I think I will." Professor Elm said, running away.
"Rogue!" Tyrogue said.
"Alright Pikachu, let's give him a fight!" Ash exclaimed. "Use Quick Attack!"
Pikachu sped across the front lawn, using his higher speed to his advantage, only for Tyrogue to flip him into the air with ease.
"Pretty strong for just a baby Pokemon." Cassie joked.
"Pikachu use Thunderbolt!"
Pikachu spun himself around in the air before launching a counter attack at Tyrogue, zapping the fighting type.
"Rogue!" Tyrogue shouted angrily, before leaping at Pikachu.
"That's a Tackle attack!" Ash said, as Tyrouge slammed back into Pikachu once more. "Pikachu use Mimic!"
Pikachu rushed forward, leaping at Tyrogue, as the fighting type was slammed to the ground.
"Alright, now Pokeball, go!" Ash called out.
'Ding Ding Ding'
As the Pokeball stopped shaking, it was engulfed in a red light before shooting into the air and disappearing.
"Wait where'd it go?" Ash asked.
"It should have gone back to Professor Oak's lab." Professor Elm said.
A few minutes later
"Yes Ash, the Pokeball just arrived." Professor Oak said, holding up the Pokeball.
"Professor, what would you say to taking some of my Pokemon, and sending Egguardo over." Ash offered.
"Of course Ash. There should be a Pokeball holster somewhere nearby." Professor Oak said.
"I don't see it anywhere." Ash said, looking around.
"Oh sorry, hold on, it's been a while." Professor Elm realized, moving several sheets out of the way, showing the transfer system. "It should be all hooked up to Professor Oak's lab since we're already on call with him."
"So Ash, who will you be sending over?" Professor Oak asked.
"I've been thinking about it, and I'm going to send over Jigglypuff and Dewgong." Ash said. "I know that I'm only getting one Pokemon back, but I want to keep a spot open for a new Pokemon when I come across one."
"Not a problem at all. There is more than enough room here at the lab for all of your Pokemon should you chose to send them over." Professor Oak said.
"Thanks Professor." Ash said. "Sending over Jigglypuff now."
A few moments later, Professor Oak lifted a Pokeball on his side.
"And she's made it safe and sound." Professor Oak said.
"Okay, next up is Dewgong." Ash said, placing the Pokeball in the same spot.
"And he's already made it." Professor Oak said. "Now here comes Tyrogue."
"Egguardo." Ash corrected.
"Yes, yes. Egguardo." Professor Oak said. "Now as a note, most Pokemon Centers have a similar transfer system available, if you wish to switch Jigglypuff or Dewgong back in, or even send others over."
"Thanks for the advice." Ash said. "Now I just need to find out where I should be going next."
"I might be able to help with that." Professor Elm said. "Head west for Cherrygrove City. There isn't a gym there, but they should be able to hook you up with a map there, and even get you registered for the Johto League."
"Thanks Professors. I'm going to get going before it gets dark." Ash said.
"Don't forget to call your mother when you get to Cherrygrove." Professor Oak reminded.
