Frieza's older brother had finally noticed Jeice's strange apathy.

At yet another meeting, he had been staring dejectedly at the long conference table, only rubbing a pencil's eraser back and forth in place instead of giving his intake on what to make of the two Cold siblings coming together to work under one regiment. It wasn't that it was the first time seeing the Ginyu Force, no, Cooler and his armored squadron saw Frieza's soldiers quite a lot. But he never truly cared to notice any of them as they were believed to have fallen under his younger sibling's total blissful ignorance. Salza would always talk about one certain man in a derogatory manner, who was now sitting next to Ginyu looking out the window almost in a dreamlike state. Though this did not attract a small raise of the eyebrow, rather a small rattle of the shoulder as though to check that he still had his attention.

Jeice didn't seem all that ignorant or loud either, like Salza implied. Then again, Salza looked down upon anybody that he secretly would admire from afar, as he would try his best that day to hide his smile and steal glances of the beauty. Cooler knew the face of one who was very unhappy, and that was seen on the smaller young man for the whole duration he had to be in the room, it was as if there was something else at play.

Everyone packed their belongings, and hauled themselves out of the room, either dismantled or nervous by the news of cooperating with one another. Another man in which Cooler met before, Burter, also asked Jeice about what he thought about the situation, putting a hand on his partner's shoulder. Jeice gently lifted his hand off and gave only a small nod before walking faster ahead of him. He didn't frown though, just smiled and idly stood by in the side of the hallways.

"They're quite the bunch, huh?" Ginyu took another puff of a cigarette while on their break. He always was so proud to call them his men, Cooler thought, must have had a strong bond. They rarely got time together informally, and so a cigarette or two would suffice as they discussed whatever was on their minds.

"Is there a specific one that caught your eye today," Cooler asked, "the red one?"

"Oh, Jeice? Yeah, I love him like my own son, but he can act a bit off at times when you really need him the most," Ginyu rubbed the back of his head thinking back to the conference, as he then chose his next words more carefully. Likely he regretted phrasing his commander that way, or else he wouldn't be a commander. Mannerisms were harder and harder to predict, though it would never be too much work for his leader. making. "He's a good kid at heart, though."

Cooler didn't know how to put together his next question either. Seeing as the two were very close like a paternal bond, he must be cautious too about the way he speaks of another grown man's child: his own, or not.

"Perhaps you could inform me a bit more about that?"

The Captain changed demeanor, not wanting to speak bad upon anyone under his wing. He then gave a small smile.

"Well, as charismatic and colorful as we Ginyus are, he probably talks the least out of all of us. He's got a tendency to fixate on stuff, and just at a loss for words almost, like everything just has him taken back? As much as we pose, he's not really into that kind of thing either. I only really did it so I can get something, body actions and or words out of him. I know it's not his fault though, it's just in his blood and I can't change that. I wouldn't change anything about him anyway, he's getting along just fine."

"Seems like time well spent with him."

"Oh, absolutely!"

Cooler couldn't help but smirk at his new co-worker showing off his trophy case. He couldn't help but find it other than admirable that he speaks so highly of his men despite their differences. As if it all comes together for the better. The optimism was very high with the five of them, wasn't it?

"So why do you think he might have been deflated today?"

Ginyu sighed, with another huff of his cigar, "I think he's just trying his hardest to take it all in. His circle's expanding, and he's not all comfortable with it. I don't know how well he gets along with your men, Doore and Neizu, but Salza can be a huge stressor. Not to be rude, I'm not talking down on your men, I know they don't get along too well."

"Well," Cooler began, "I know they can work their differences out. Salza talks so admiringly about Jeice anyways, so it's the only way I knew of him."

"Heh, well, I'll just have to keep my eye out on those two. Though Burter spends more than enough time with Jeice already so it couldn't be all that lovey-dovey."

"You're a good man watching out for others like that. If Frieza didn't hire you on the spot, there would've been just a bit more room for you and Jeice on my team."

"Oh come on, I'm just doing my work."

The two chuckled, and exchanged their farewells for the day. Ginyu was just walking back to see what the others were up to, until he felt a thud on his chest and a smaller soldier bouncing back, covering his forehead.

"Oh thank god, you scared me. What were you doing so far away from the others?"

Jeice shrugged. "They're just talking to Doore, Neizu and Salza."

"You didn't talk to them?"

"I probably wouldn't have added anything to the conversation anyway."

"You won't know if you stay quiet."

"Spying on you is more fun."

Ginyu had to laugh at that, for Jeice was observant and always made sure his Captain was never in any danger or harm of the sort. The two looked out for one another the most. It was all in the natural cycle of things. They then walked down the hallway, proceeding to talk about how Doore and Recoome were having an arm wrestling match and who they bet on would win.
