CHARLIE BROWN'S INJURY
Charlie Brown still stood at the front door, still sighing dreamily when Woodstock walked up to Charlie Brown, and pecked his leg.
"Woodstock?!" Charlie Brown exclaimed.
Woodstock chirped a language even Charlie Brown couldn't understand. However, he did figure out since Woodstock is Snoopy's best friend…..
"Oh, you're looking for Snoopy?" said Charlie Brown. "He went across the road."
Woodstock walked away from the Brown residence. He tried flying, but his wings were too little for him to fly correctly. Soon, Woodstock went to the backyard, only to find Snoopy with Fifi.
Snoopy was sitting on Fifi's doghouse with Fifi holding him, and he was acting like the World War I Flying Ace. Woodstock just sighed at Snoopy's strange imagination.
Snoopy imagined himself flying the skies with Fifi.
Everything went into fantasy….
Snoopy was driving Fifi's doghouse as a plane, with Fifi holding onto him. Soon, the Red Baron flew directly in front of them. Snoopy, thinking he was after Fifi again, did his best to avoid him.
Everything soon went back to reality…..
Really, Woodstock was flying weird patterns in front of Snoopy. Snoopy got out of his fantasy world, and was surprised to see Woodstock. Woodstock just chuckled, but Fifi was confused.
The following day, as Heather walked into class, she walked up to the teacher.
Miss Donovan called out to Heather.
"Sorry I wasn't at school yesterday, Ma'am." Said Heather. "I…. I…."
Charlie Brown looked at Heather, and nodded.
"I had a sore throat, and had to stay home." Heather lied.
Miss Donovan decided to believe Heather's lie.
"She believed me. She actually thought I had a sore throat!" Heather thought.
Miss Donovan then told Heather to take her seat.
"Alright then." Said Heather as she went to take her seat. Because Lucy was sitting with Violet's friend Patty, and Schroeder was sitting with Violet, as well as other seats being taken, Heather knew just where to sit.
Charlie Brown looked at Heather lovingly. Knowing the seat next to him was empty, he knew exactly where Heather was going to sit.
"Hi, Charlie Brown." Smiled Heather. "Every other desk is full, and because your desk is the only one with a spare chair, I'll sit with you."
Meanwhile, over at their school, during recess, Marcie and Peppermint Patty had a chat on the bench, and Marcie looked concerned.
"I don't think the teacher believed your story, Sir." Said Marcie.
"Come on, Marcie! If I told the truth, I would've gotten into more trouble!" said Peppermint Patty.
"Is there a reason you sat on Snoopy's doghouse, Sir?" asked Marcie.
"Alright, Marcie." Said Peppermint Patty. And then she explained….. "I'll level with you. I spent the whole night and day on Snoopy's doghouse because…"
"Yes?" asked Marcie.
"Ever since that Little Red-Haired Girl moved into the neighbourhood, I've been feeling green with envy." Said Peppermint Patty. "I really wanted to spend my time there until Chuck started paying attention to me again."
"You're always wearing green, Sir." Said Marcie.
"No, Marcie! Green with envy. Means you're jealous." Peppermint Patty corrected.
"You love Charles, don't you, Sir?" asked Marcie.
"Oh, don't be ridiculous….." Peppermint Patty, and then she stopped. "oh, who am I kidding? Yes! I do love Chuck! Marcie! Can you help me out of this?"
"There's other boys out there, Sir. Maybe you'll find one from this school." Suggested Marcie.
"I don't want a different boy! I want Chuck!" said Peppermint Patty sadly.
"Look, Sir. I like Charles as much as you do, but there's a such thing as living with disappointment." Marcie said.
"Living with disappointment?" scoffed Peppermint Patty. "Don't be ridiculous, Marcie! How can I live with disappointment?"
"There's a first for everything, Sir." Marcie explained.
When it was lunchtime, Charlie Brown was sitting on the bench with his best friend Linus. Charlie Brown had explained to Linus about what happened to Snoopy's doghouse.
"That's terrible, Charlie Brown!" exclaimed Linus. "Where is Snoopy going to live now?"
"I'm loaning him to Heather." Said Charlie Brown. "She's sure to give him the love and care a dog deserves."
"You're not lending Snoopy to Heather just because you like her, are you, Charlie Brown?" Linus asked.
"Come on, Linus! That's what friends do for friends!" Charlie Brown said.
"If you say so, Charlie Brown." Said Linus simply.
Just then, Sally and Heather went over to the bench to see Charlie Brown and Linus chatting their way. Charlie Brown turned his attention to his sister and Heather.
"Oh. Hi, Sally! Hi, Heather." Charlie Brown blushed towards Heather.
"Hey, Big Brother! Hey, Linus!" said Sally.
"Say, Charlie Brown. Is there room for a Little Red-Haired Girl on that bench?" asked Heather.
"Er…" Charlie Brown pondered.
"She's all yours, Heather. I'm…. er….. going to push Sally on the swings." Linus said.
"Yay!" cheered Sally.
Linus got off the bench, allowing room for Heather to sit.
"Come on, Sally. I'll push you on the swing." Said Linus.
"Yay! My sweet babboo is going to push me on the swings!" cheered Sally.
"I'm not your sweet babboo." Linus said simply.
"Charlie Brown. Thank you so much for making up an excuse for me not coming to school yesterday!" said Heather.
"Anytime, Heather. Anytime." Smiled Charlie Brown.
Meanwhile, Sally was sitting on the swing, and Linus pushed her multiple times. Sally was enjoying herself, because the boy of her dreams was the one pushing her.
"Having fun, Sally?" asked Linus.
"More fun than ever, Linus!" cheered Sally.
Soon, Janice walked up to Linus, puzzled by who he was pushing on the swing.
"Er…. Linus?" asked Janice.
"Janice?!" exclaimed Linus. He was so surprised, he accidentally pushed Sally too hard, causing her to fly off the swing. Sally's head landed on Charlie Brown's head, causing him fall over and feel pain.
"Charlie Brown! Are you okay?!" cried Heather.
Charlie Brown moaned in pain.
"Ow! What happened?! Where am I?!" groaned Sally, feeling dizzy. She got up and noticed Charlie Brown feeling hurt. "Big Brother! Are you okay?!"
"That's what I'm wondering." Said Heather.
"I think he's hurt." Said Heather. She got down, and noticed Charlie Brown feeling injured. She patted Charlie Brown's head.
"Do you like that, Charlie Brown?" asked Heather.
"Oooooooh…." Moaned Charlie Brown.
"Poor sweet baby…." Heather said as she rubbed Charlie Brown's forehead.
"Are you okay, Big Brother?" Sally asked again.
"Oh!" Charlie Brown groaned again.
"I didn't mean to crash into you, Big Brother. Linus pushed me too hard!" Said Sally.
"Linus?" Charlie Brown pondered.
"Let's get you to the school nurse, Charlie Brown." Suggested Heather. "We want to see if you've suffered any permanent damage."
