TALENT TIME

The night of the talent show had arrived. Mimi was making her way into the school when she saw Heather walking in with Schroeder. Heather was wearing a pink sleeveless shirt, a pink ruffled skirt, a lighter pink bow in her hair, white socks, and black Mary Jane shoes. While Schroeder was wearing a black dinner suit, a white dress shirt, a red bow tie, black dress trousers, and black dress shoes.

"Heather! You look fab-u-lous!" cried Mimi.

"Thanks, Mimi!" smiled Heather.

"And is this Charlie Brown?" Asked Mimi, looking at the blonde boy.

"No, silly!" chuckled Heather. "This is Schroeder. I'm performing with him."

"Oh, hi, Schroeder." Said Mimi.

"Oh. Hello….." said Schroeder.

"Mimi." Mimi answered.

"Well, we'd best go backstage. We have to warm up for our performance." Said Heather.

"Best of luck, Heather!" called Mimi.

Just as Mimi was about to enter the school, there, standing, was Janice.

"Mimi!" exclaimed Janice.

"Hello, Janice." Said Mimi.

"Glad to see you, Mimi." Said Janice.

"I'm glad to see you tonight, Janice." Said Mimi.

"Look. I'm sorry for thinking you'd be taking Linus away from me. I didn't even know of your existence." Said Janice.

"That's alright, Janice." Smiled Mimi.

"Shall we be friends?" asked Janice.

"Yeah. We can be friends." Said Mimi. "Let's watch the talent show together."

"Great! Come on in!" said Janice.

As soon as everyone was seated, they waited for the curtains to be pulled. Lucy was in charge of the curtains, since she couldn't think of a talent to do.

Charlie Brown arrived, wearing his black dinner suit white dress shirt, black bow tie, and black dress shoes. Along with Frieda, who was dressed in a purple shirt, a purple pleated skirt, purple socks, and brown and white saddle shoes. Along came Snoopy and Fifi.

"Are you ready to warm up, Charlie Brown?" asked Frieda.

"Practice makes perfect." Said Charlie Brown.

Linus and Sally arrived. Sally was dressed in her cowgirl outfit, whilst Linus was dressed as a cowboy, with his blanket as a whip.

"Hey, Sally! Trying the cowgirl performance again?" asked Charlie Brown.

"Sure am, Big Brother!" said Sally. "But this time, my sweet babboo by my side."

"For as long as we're performing, I am your sweet babboo." Said Linus.

"However, we need something to use as a bull." Suggested Sally.

"Need something as a bull, huh?" came a voice.

Sally looked behind, and there, dressed as a bull, was…..

"Harold Angel?" said Linus.

"I can be your bull, Sally." Said Harold Angel.

"Great! You're in!" cheered Sally.

Marcie and Peppermint Patty arrived, and because they attend Charlie Brown's school now, they got a part in the talent show. Marcie was a princess in a red hennin and a red gown, and Peppermint Patty was a knight in a silver suit of armour.

"Marcie? Peppermint Patty?" exclaimed Charlie Brown.

"That's Princess Marcie to you, Charles." Smirked Marcie.

"And that's Sir Peppermint Patty to you, Chuck." Added Peppermint Patty.

"Good grief!" sighed Charlie Brown.

"We're going to be doing an act where I'm the princess, and Peppermint Patty's the knight." Marcie explained.

"But who's the dragon?" asked Charlie Brown.

"I'm the dragon!" came a voice.

A green dragon came up, and removed his head.

"Franklin?" exclaimed Charlie Brown.

"Because we go to this school now, we agreed to sign up for this talent show." Said Franklin.

"Anyway, Franklin and Sir. Let's warm up for our act." Said Marcie.

It was time for the talent show to start. Among the crowd sat Janice and Mimi, sitting next to each other.

"Are you excited, Mimi?" asked Janice eagerly.

"I sure am, Janice." Smiled Mimi.

And right next to Janice sat Rerun. He couldn't wait to see his brother perform.

"Hello, Rerun." Said Janice.

"Hello, Janice. Come to see my big brother performing." Asked Rerun.

The curtains opened, and the first act starred Violet Gray and Patty Swanson. They were dressed as pirates, and had a cardboard ship and cardboard waves. Patty had a telescope.

"Yar, First Mate Patty! Can ye loan me yer telescope there?" asked Violet.

"Ay ay, Violet!" said Patty.

"Excuse thee?" asked Violet.

"I mean Captain Violet." Replied Patty.

"Thar's more like it!" smirked Violet.

Patty handed the telescope to Violet, and Violet placed the small part in front of her left eye, and looked at the audience.

"Arrr, I spy the crowd!" cried Violet.

"A crowd?" pondered Patty.

"Yar! A crowd! They're here for our little shanty." Said Violet.

"Hit it!" Patty cried.

The music started playing, and as Violet put the telescope on her belt, she and Patty started to dance to the music. They did some pirate jigs, and then, they wrapped their right arm around the other's, and skipped around.

From backstage, Heather watched the action.

"I just hope Schroeder and I can beat those two." Heather said to herself.

"They're pretty good, Heather." Said Linus.

"That reminds me, Sweet Babboo. We're next." Said Sally.

Soon, Patty and Violet's act was over. They took a bow, and they received an applause.

"Come on, Sally! We're next!" called Linus.

"Come on, Sweet Babboos!" cried Sally as she grabbed Linus' left hand and Harold Angel's right hand, and they all set out on stage while the curtains were still closed.

"Good grief! My stupid brother and his girlfriend are performing!" groaned Lucy.

Lucy drew the curtains, and Linus, Sally, and Harold Angel were ready to perform. Linus had his stupid blanket as a whip. He also had other plans.

"Yee-haw!" cheered Sally. "Tonight, we shall present to you, the taming of this bull!"

"Moo!" said Harold Angel.

"Back, Toro! Back!" cried Linus.

Linus cracked his blanket whip, sending Harold Angel back.

"Go, Sheriff Linus, Go!" called Sally.

"Cowgirl Sally! Will you do the honours of tying him up?" asked Linus.

"I'm right behind you!" called Sally.

Sally went behind Linus, and got ready to tie Harold Angel up with her lasso. Linus unfolded his blanket, turning it into a muleta, acting like a matador. Harold Angel ran towards the muleta, and Linus pulled it away, prompting Sally to send her lasso onto Harold Angel, tying him up in the process.

"Ta-da!" cheered Sally.

Sally untied Harold Angel, and they and Linus took a bow. The audience applauded them, but Janice cheered loudest of all.

"Well done, Linus!" cheered Janice.
