CHARLIE BROWN TO THE RESCUE

Heather, who'd been watching the action, looked behind her to see…..

"Hold on! Schroeder? Schroeder! Oh Schroeder!" cried Heather.

Schroeder had gone missing.

"Where's Schroeder?" asked Heather.

Heather walked over to Charlie Brown, who was for some reason in charge of the curtains.

"Charlie Brown. Have you seen Schroeder? We're up soon." Cried Heather.

"I have." Said Charlie Brown.

While Marcie, Peppermint Patty and Franklin were performing, Lucy noticed that Heather was too busy watching the show to take any notice of Schroeder. And just as Schroeder was about to warm up, Lucy covered his mouth with her right arm, and she dragged him out of the auditorium.

"Good grief! You mean to tell me Schroeder's been kidnapped?!" cried Heather.

"I believe so." Said Charlie Brown.

"I have until the end of the next act to save him!" cried Heather.

"Go get 'er, Heather!" called Charlie Brown.

Heather walked out of the auditorium to find Schroeder.

Lucy had taken Schroeder to the girls' bathroom. Schroeder had been gagged and his arms and legs were tied together.

"If I can't have Schroeder, then no one can!" Smirked Lucy.

Schroeder tried to respond, but he couldn't. Not while his face was gagged.

"Now, Schroeder. You do not love the Little Red-Haired Girl. You love me. I am your future wife." Lucy demanded.

Schroeder tried to respond, but it was no good.

Heather looked around for Schroeder. Now where would Lucy take Schroeder to?

"The principal's office?" Heather said. "No. We were too busy practicing for the talent show for him to do anything wrong. The classroom? No. School's over for the weekend. Her psychiatric booth? No. It's night time. The girls' bathroom? No…. of course!"

Heather set off for the girls' bathroom.

"Once that Little Red-Haired Girl gets in here, she's next!" Lucy said.

As she had said this, Heather burst into the girls' bathroom.

"Lucy!" shouted Heather.

"Good grief! She's here!" groaned Lucy.

"You let go of Schroeder!" demanded Heather.

"Oh, I'll let him go! I'll let him go alright! Once I get through with you!" smirked Lucy.

And Lucy did the unexpected. She ungagged Schroeder and untied his legs and arms.

"I'm free! I'm free at last!" cheered Schroeder.

"Not so fast!" Lucy called out.

Lucy gagged Heather, and tied her arms together and her legs together. Then, she locked her in the bathroom.

"Excellent! Now Schroeder will have to be my talent partner!" smirked Lucy.

Lucy grabbed Schroeder's arms and brought him back to the auditorium.

Meanwhile, Charlie Brown was watching the performance. The performance was Shermy as a mime. At last, Lucy and Schroeder had returned.

"Schroeder! You're back! And Lucy!" cried Charlie Brown.

"It was awful, Charlie Brown!" cried Schroeder.

"But at least you got out fine, didn't you, Schroeder?" asked Charlie Brown.

"Yes, but the worst has happened!" cried Schroeder.

"What?" asked Charlie Brown.

"Heather's locked in the bathroom!" exclaimed Schroeder.

"Good grief! Heather!" cried Charlie Brown.

Charlie Brown ran out of the auditorium to find Heather.

"Now that that Little Red-Haired Girl and that wishy-washy blockhead are out of the way, how about we…" Lucy started.

"Forget it, Lucy!" said Schroeder.

"Rats!" groaned Lucy.

Charlie Brown had reached the girl's bathroom, and found it was locked.

"Good grief! Now how am I gonna get in there? Her performance is next!" cried Charlie Brown. "Unless….."

Charlie Brown thought for a second. Then, he remembered that every bathroom has a window.

"Mph mph mph mph!" Heater muffled.

"I've got it!" Charlie Brown cried.

Charlie Brown went outside, and found a kite.

"Come on, Charlie Brown! Use this kite and you will free…." Charlie Brown said to himself.

But as Charlie Brown tried to carry the kite, it flew away and landed in the Kite-Eating Tree.

"Good grief! I can't seem to do anything right!" sighed Charlie Brown.

But much to Charlie Brown's surprise, the tree spat the kite out, and back at Charlie Brown.

"I guess the Kite-Eating Tree doesn't like this kite. Oh well." Sighed Charlie Brown.

Charlie Brown threw the kite into the open window of the bathroom, and Charlie Brown tried his best to climb into the window. Luckily, Charlie Brown made it up, but got stuck in the window.

"I'm stuck! Now I'll never free the Little Red-Haired Girl!" cried Charlie Brown.

But he'd spoken too soon. Charlie Brown fell off the window and landed. Charlie Brown picked himself up and searched for Heather.

"Heather! Heather!" called Charlie Brown.

Charlie Brown found a toilet room that was engaged.

"Engaged?! Heather's engaged to Schroeder?! I knew it! I knew Schroeder would ask Heather to marry him. I can't stand it! No! No, Charlie Brown! This is no time for moping! You have a Little Red-Haired Girl to save!" Charlie Brown said with determination.

Charlie Brown remembered the many times he'd tried to kick the football, and decided to put it to good use. He ran back, and charged at the engaged toilet. And luckily, the lock broke, and Charlie Brown got in.

"Heather! Don't worry! I'll save you!" Charlie Brown told her.

Charlie Brown ungagged Heather, and then untied her limbs. Heather, grateful for Charlie Brown helping her, hugged him.

"Oh, thank you, Charlie Brown!" cried Heather. "It's awful! Lucy did this to me!"

"Lucy?!" Charlie Brown exclaimed.

"There's no time to worry about Lucy, Charlie Brown! We have to get back! Schroeder and I are up soon!" Heather called.

Later, at the auditorium, as Lucy was about to pluck a kiss on Schroeder, Heather and Charlie Brown burst in.

"Stop right there, Lucy!" called Heather.

"Rats! She's free!" Lucy groaned.

"Lucy! This is your idea? Ruin our act?" demanded Heather.

"I had you trapped in that bathroom so you wouldn't take Schroeder from me!" Lucy explained.

"Take Schroeder away from you? What are you talking about, Lucy?" asked Heather.

"Don't play blockhead with me!" said Lucy angrily. "You've been spending so much time together!"

"But Lucy! I do like Schroeder. However, I don't like like him." Heather explained.

"Don't like like him?" Lucy was puzzled.

"I'm not that interested in him! I only like him as a friend!" Heather said.

"Oh!" said Charlie Brown.

And then he thought "She's not engaged to Schroeder!"

"I… I didn't think of it like that. Heather, I….." Lucy said.

"Save the apologies for later, Lucy." Said Heather. "Schroeder and I are up."

"Well, it's back to the curtains for me." sighed Lucy.
