EPILOGUE

The next day, because it was Saturday, Heather woke up bright and early.

"Another beautiful morning." Smiled Heather.

Heather got out of her room, out of her turquoise pyjamas, but kept her aquamarine bow in her hair, and changed into her turquoise dress, turquoise socks and white Mary Jane shoes. She was going over to the Browns' place. As she approached the Brown place, she knocked on the door, and who should open it but Charlie Brown.

"Heather! Good morning!" called Charlie Brown.

"Morning, Charlie Brown!" smiled Heather. "You seem to be in high spirits today. Is it about Schroeder's trophy?"

"Yes." Said Charlie Brown.

"Schroeder decided he only loves Beethoven, which is fine by me. That's why he let you have his trophy." Said Heather.

"That's what he told me." said Charlie Brown.

"Anyway, Charlie Brown, I….." Heather began, but her words were interrupted by a car horn and a singing voice.

"Good grief! Who's that?!" asked Charlie Brown.

Out of the rear car door stepped Mimi.

"Mimi!" cried Heather.

"Heather!" cried Mimi.

"Mimi?" exclaimed Charlie Brown.

Charlie Brown walked over to Mimi and wanted to introduced himself.

"Hello Charlie Brown. Mimi's the name." said Mimi.

"Mimi? Er….. Did you by any chance go to Linus' birthday party?" asked Charlie Brown.

"I sure did." Said Mimi.

"Pity I didn't get to see you then." Sighed Charlie Brown.

"Not to worry, Charlie Brown." Smiled Mimi. "At least you're meeting me today. And your magic show was beautiful." Then she turned to Heather. "And Heather. I just wanted to say it again; Congratulations on winning the talent show last night."

"Thank you, Mimi." Said Heather. "And thank you for inspiring me to sing."

"Anytime, Heather. Anytime." Said Mimi.

As Mimi said this, the horn of the car honked.

"Oh. I'm sorry. I have to leave. Well, goodbye, Heather. Goodbye, Charlie Brown. Nice meeting you." said Mimi.

So Mimi stepped back in the car, and the car drove off. Mimi waved to Charlie Brown and Heather, and Charlie Brown and Heather waved back until the car was out of sight.

"Wow! Come on, Charlie Brown. Let's go to the park together." Said Heather.

"Yes. Let's…" agreed Charlie Brown.

Heather grabbed Charlie Brown's left hand with her right, and the two walked together, with Charlie Brown blushing as red as Heather's hair.

On the way, they stopped beside Lucy's Psychiatry Booth, and much to their surprise…..

"Linus?! And Janice?! What are you doing here?!" Heather asked in surprise.

"Hi, Heather! Hi, Charlie Brown! We're taking over Lucy's Booth." Said Linus.

"Schroeder told us what she did to you, so we decided to take over." Said Janice.

"Well, that's very clever, Linus and Janice." Said Heather.

Heather looked at the top of the booth and noticed…..

"Three cents?" puzzled Heather.

"Just wanted to lower the price." Said Linus.

"Instead of five cents, it's three cents." Added Janice.

"Unless you're my sister." Smirked Linus.

"Anyway, Janice and Linus. Charlie Brown and I have to go now. Nice talking to you." said Heather.

"Nice seeing you, Heather. And congratulations on winning the talent show last night!" called Linus.

In Charlie Brown and Heather's absence, along came Lucy, and much to her surprise…..

"Hey! That's my booth!" yelled Lucy.

"Correction; It was your booth." Linus said.

"Schroeder told us what you did last night, so we're taking over." Said Janice.

"Good grief!" groaned Lucy.

"Anyway, Lucy, what are you in for?" asked Janice.

"To get my booth back!" demanded Lucy. "And teach that Red-Haired Girl a thing or two if she's taking patients from me. And to get Schroeder to like me."

"Okay. That'll be three hundred dollars, please." Said Janice solemnly.

"Three hundred dollars?! But your sign says three cents!" shouted Lucy.

"For other patients, it's three cents. If you're my sister, it's three hundred dollars!" said Linus.

"I can't stand it!" sighed Lucy.

"Alright, Lucy." Said Linus. "I'll drop your charges if we do the football thing. Janice, the football."

Janice went up to a football and picked it up. Then, she placed it down and held it upright.

"You watch as I kick this ball to Pluto!" smirked Lucy.

Lucy ran towards the football, ready to kick it. But just before she could, Janice pulled it away, and Lucy continued to run past.

"Ha! You thought you could trick me, didn't you?" laughed Lucy.

"Janice, this is my sister here. She's done this with Charlie Brown many times. Always pulling the football away from him before he could kick it." Said Linus.

"She'll get her comeuppance, Linus." Said Janice.

Meanwhile, Charlie Brown and Heather found a bench to sit at.

"Charlie Brown. I've been looking for you last night. Turns out you'd already gone home." Heather explained.

"I had to go home, Heather. Sally couldn't go on her own that late at night." Said Charlie Brown.

"I understand, Charlie Brown." Said Heather. "I wanted to say something apart from great magic show."

"What's that?" asked Charlie Brown.

"Er…. Let's talk this over a picnic." Suggested Heather.

"A picnic?" Charlie Brown was confused.

"Charlie Brown, you find a tree by the pond, while I go home and pack the lunch." Said Heather.

"Anything for you." smiled Charlie Brown.

Heather left Charlie Brown on the bench while she went home to pack a picnic for her and Charlie Brown. When it was lunchtime, Heather had finally returned with a hamper and a picnic basket. Heather lay out the red rug, while Charlie Brown watched on.

"It's red. Just like her hair." Charlie Brown sighed dreamily.

"Join me, Charlie Brown!" cried Heather.

Charlie Brown walked down to the picnic rug and sat with Heather.

"Charlie Brown, before we eat, let me just say…." Began Heather. But before she could say what she wanted to say, Lucy dashed by.

"That sucker!" smirked Lucy. "Thought she could outsmart me with the football! That blonde blockhead should think twice before messing with the ever so beautiful Lucy van Pelt!"

But Lucy spoke too soon. She didn't notice until too late the pond ahead of her. Lucy tripped and landed in the pond. Lucy, angry with what had happened, emerged from the pond angrily. Charlie Brown and Heather watched on.

"You know, Heather. The water is the perfect place for a crabby person!" Charlie Brown said.

"Good one, Charlie Brown! You're so funny!" Heather laughed, and Charlie Brown laughed too, while Lucy grumbled.

"I can't stand it! I can't stand it at all!" groaned Lucy.

"Anyway, Heather. You were saying?" asked Charlie Brown.

"I wanted to thank you, Charlie Brown. Thank you for everything." Said Heather happily. "Thank you for saving me from the girls' bathroom! Thank you for saving mine and Schroeder's performance! And a ginormous thank you for further inspiring me to write my song and supporting me throughout my practices and for everything you did since I moved into the neighbourhood! You are my hero, my pen pal for whenever I'm away, and best of all…"

Heather hugged Charlie Brown. Charlie Brown, feeling the hug, simply blushed.

"You are my sweet babboo." Heather finished.

And out of gratitude, Heather kissed Charlie Brown's right cheek. Then kissed his left cheek. Then kissed his nose. Then kissed his forehead. Charlie Brown, feeling all the kisses, blushed even redder. Redder than Heather's hair. Heather got out a peanut butter sandwich while looking dreamily at Charlie Brown, eternally grateful for all the things he'd done for her. Heather handed Charlie Brown a peanut butter sandwich, and the two started munching on their lunch, staring dreamily at each other.

I hope you all enjoyed this entire story. Back when I wrote this from August-November last year, it took me a while because I wrote it to celebrate 6 years since the 2015 Peanuts Movie was released. And I didn't expect to have novelised this story this fast.
