It was unnerving, having somebody who was supposed to be a teammate that wouldn't communicate in any way.
Well, any normal way.
His teammate was unnaturally quiet and seemed to have muscles in places that most didn't have. It was difficult to explain to others, let alone himself. It felt like he was a teammate to a monster or a machine of sorts. That wasn't a teammate, no… that thing wasn't human. It might've looked human but nothing about the way it acted agreed with that.
His hair was platinum blond, so very near to white, but it was the kind that one could tell wasn't dyed. It was the kind that came from the lack of sunlight for years on end. He had a simple navy blue top with a white circular swirl on the back, black bandages around his fists, simple black pants with utility, and black shoes meant for treading on wet grass with ease.
Yet the strangest part was the mask.
It was a mask that covered the entire face. It had thin black eye slits and two blue lines coming down from the right eye to the bottom of the mask. The mask wasn't animal themed, unlike literally any other full covering mask in Konoha.
Strapped to the left side of his waist was a scabbard for a chokuto that had "Kuronami" engraved in white on it.
Sasuke assumed that was the name of the sword.
Either way though, no matter what he might think about his teammate, Sasuke had to admit that he was useful. Hell, his teammate was the sole reason they got through the second exam.
But that was the second exam, and now they were up to the preliminaries, where even being in the same team didn't stop you from going up against a teammate. Honestly, Sasuke wasn't afraid of going up against anybody. He was confident he could win any match he was put in.
Any match, that is, except one.
That thing wasn't something he wanted to fight.
Luckily, it was the Inuzuka boy who had to do that for him. For once, Sasuke felt sorry for somebody. It was strange, feeling sorry for somebody. He hadn't done it in so long that he'd forgotten what that felt like.
His teammate, Naruto, ignored the banter and taunts that Inuzuka attempted to use to unnerve him.
Yes, Naruto did not take any attitude, as was evident when he unsheathed his sword and raised it towards Kiba.
"Frenzy Bloodloss"
It was almost as quiet as a whisper, but it could be clearly heard throughout the giant room. His voice was hoarse, as if he hadn't really spoken that much in years… If at all.
A gust of wind tore around Inuzuka, giving him very shallow cuts everywhere. Yet, despite the size and locations of the cuts, he was bleeding as if he had no limit. Inuzuka stumbled backwards a step or two, bleeding intensely. It was clear that somehow he wasn't suffering from blood loss. Even he didn't seem to understand how.
Then, all of a sudden, it stopped as quickly as it had begun.
The dog in Inuzuka's hood whimpered loud enough for Sasuke to hear it as if that puppy was right next to his own ear.
The blood on the ground began flowing towards Naruto, who let his sword tip towards the ground before the edge of the blade gently rested on the floor. The blood swirled, flowing up the blade and into the sword somehow.
Quickly, Naruto sheathed the sword and fell into a stance; a stance of speed as if he were to perform a slash while unsheathing.
White, the word on the scabbard once was, but now it began to turn a deep red. Finally, once it had completely turned red, Naruto slowly unsheathed the sword once more.
"Uzumaki Kenjutsu: Kuronami: Slash Act"
He blurred.
A moment later, he appeared behind Inuzuka, cutting off a scream with a slash of black ink across Inuzuka's chest. It didn't take long for Inuzuka to collapse, completely unmoving.
The proctor rushed over, staring at Naruto as he carefully picked up the fallen boy. Looking at Naruto, he narrowed his eyes.
"That was brutal, kid."
As usual, Naruto didn't respond. He just walked away, climbing back up the steps to watch the next fight while the proctor and several others took Inuzuka from the room to a medical ward of sorts.
One could hear the quiet chatter from nearly everybody else in the room. The other contestants, their leaders, nearly every Jonin watching. Even the Hokage himself was staring at Naruto, albeit with disappointment. The general consensus was clear, though. It was unnerving to watch somebody not hesitate to at least attempt to murder somebody else who was supposedly a comrade.
Yes, Sasuke really didn't want to fight Naruto.
Doing so would mean a near instant death.
Hello fair peoples. Yes, it is I, the most inconsistent and infuriating person on the planet.
With something that's not even 3 and a half pages in google docs for you, I present to you a choice.
I'll do my best to continue ONE of my stories, but which story that is will depend on votes and such. What I mean is you people pick one of the stories and let me know which one to continue.
Just don't expect me to be consistently updating stuff. I WILL get to it, eventually, but don't expect me to do it once every few days, weeks, months, etc. It'll happen slowly but surely.
You guys just need to pick one I guess.
