Author's Note: This story takes place when what was Kisame Hoshigaki's flashback. And also, this story is following a Hyūga that I created named Kazuto Hyūga. An Eighteen-years-old Chūnin.
"Hello. My name is Kazuto. Kazuto Hyūga. And this... is my story."
The night was young, the white moon was full and a few stars had shined in the sky.
Within a deep dark forest inside the Land of Water... more than a dozen members of the Konoha Torture and Interrogation Force-which were led by Ibiki Morino from Konohagakure were jumping from tree-to-tree and chasing the Kirigakure's Cypher Division and hoping to capture them. The group had all worn black Ninja shoes, black pants, black long-sleeved shirts, black Konoha forehead protectors on their faces and gray flak jackets. Including an Eighteen-year-old Shinobi Kazuto Hyuuga-who's ranked Chunin. He had worn a pair of Byakugan in his sockets, fair skin and short spiky black hair-that resembled Yahiko's.
"I see them! They're straight up ahead!" Kazuto said as his Byakugan were activated. He can see the Cypher Division fleeing from them from a few dozen miles away. Twelve O'clock.
"Good." Ibiki nodded as he followed Kazuto. He then slightly looked back to the Konoha Shinobi that were behind him. "Follow Kazuto's lead!"
"Yessir!" Multiple Konoha Shinobi had answered.
Their sole mission was to capture Kirigakure's Cypher Division and escort them to Konoha for intel extraction.
After a few minutes of being chased, Kisame and the Cypher Division had ultimately stopped and faced their pursuers.
Luckily, the Konoha group had stopped as well. They discovered Kisame Hoshigaki for the first time and the Cypher Division wearing green robes.
Kazuto stared each and everyone of the Kiri Ninja down. Including Miru, whom he spotted lastly. 'There's a girl with them?'
Ibiki Murano slowly walked pass Kazuto and toward Kisame Hoshigaki. "Just give up. We have you completely surrounded. There's no escape." Ibiki said.
Kisame smirked as he stared at their black Konoha headbands. "I know you. You're from Konohagakure's Torture and Interrogation Force. You want to fight?"
"Get them!"
Ibiki had ordered his men to fight and subdue Kirigakure's Cypher Division. Each member had withdrawn their blades and attacked, while Kisame defended himself with his using his blade and the rest of the Cypher Division used two kunais and pushed to the defensive. The Cypher Division were outmatched in numbers.
The Cypher Division were clashing weapons with Konohagakure's Torutre and Interrogation Force. But the Kirigakure Shinobi were outnumbered.
Kisame Hoshigaki had danced with his blade. Spinning around, swinging hos blade and slashing his Konoha enemies-mortally wounding them. He attempted to lessen Konoha's odds by striking down and stabbing his enemies in the head. Killing them, one by one. Kisame managed to kill four Konoha Shinobi within a minute and a half.
Kazuto had clashed weapons with the woman named, Miru. She had no fear within the look on her face and was determined to defend herself from him. For the next minute, Kazuto contiued to push Miru on the defensive as he pushed Miru to a tree where her feet had tripped over a large tree root.
Miru had fallen onto her butt and was forced to look up at Kazuto.
Kazuto stood over Miru and pointed the nose of his blade at Miru. As he stared at Miru, he then saw a visual of a woman smiling toward him. A woman with smooth and dark brown hair, a pair of white eyes and fair skin. Kazuto, then hasped.
"Do your best, Kazuto-Kun!"
Kazuto paused long enough to where Miru was able to see Kazuto hesitate. As his blade shook in front of her.
Ibiki looked over at his right, Four O'clock and saw that Kazuto had paused and wasn't doing what he was ordered. Which is capturing the Cypher Division members, alive.
"Kazuto!" Ibiki yelled from across the battlefield.
Kazuto gasped as he had snapped back in reality. He looked down at Miru and saw her pretty face. He and Miru had made eye contact with one a other for a moment...
Kisame Hoshigaki then jumped dozens of feet in the air and threw paper bombs attached to Kunai near the feet of his enemies. Causing a diversion of explosions.
"Everyone! Run!" Kisame shouted on a hurry. All of the male Cypher Division members listened to Kisame and followed him.
"Mmph!" Miru grunted for a second as she was still on the ground. She heard Kisame, then quickly got on her feet and joined her fellow Shinobi. Leaving Kazuto behind.
Ibiki grunted. "Don't let them get away!"
"Yessir!"
Many Konoha Shinobi then chased after Kisame and the Cypher Division. All except for Kazuto. Ibiki saw that Kazuto was still standing like a statuw and walked toward him with a bit of frustration. He grabbed Kazuto's right shoulder with his left hand.
"What the hell was that? You could've captured her, then and there!" Ibiki yelled.
Kazuto gasped, then looked down. "Sorry."
"Don't apologize! Go after them!" Ibiki ordered.
"Mmph! Right!" Kazuto then used his chakra and stored most of it in his feet. He then jumped high in the trees and chased after the Cypher Division along with his comrades.
Ibiki stared at Kazuto's backside as he saw him pursue the Cypher Division. 'What is going on in that kid's head?' He then jumped high in the trees as well and followed his men.
A few minutes later, two members of Kirigakure's Cypher Division were attacked and hit by paper bombs attached to kunai and had fallen out of the high trees. Landing onto the hard ground. One of the two members with a neck flap headband was incapacitated and had landed on the ground face first. While the other member with a bandanna headband was still conscious. He had a severe injury on his chest. His lower stomach had been blown open from the last paper bomb attack thrown at him.
Kisame jumped down to the ground and stared at the overweight Shinobi and saw that a hole had been blown in his stomach.
"Please... help me!" The man begged as he clutched his stomach.
'That type of wound will require surgery.' Kisame thought to himself. Then, he grabbed the hilt and raised his blade high in the air. 'He's beyond saving.'
The injured Cypher Division member gasped in horror as he saw Kisame standing over him with his blade. He stretched his right hand toward Kisame out of mercy. "N-no! Have mercy!"
'Oh, I'm doing just what you said.' Kisame then slashed down. Slicing the Kiri Shinobi's throat open. 'Mercy.'
The Cypher Division man gauged as his throat had been slashed open and being forced to choke on his own blood. 'Kisame... why?' Before succumbing to his wounds, a tear had fallen from his right eye.
Meanwhile, Kazuto Hyūga, who had caught up with his Konoha comrades... had activated his Byakugan and had just seen what Kisame did from many miles ahead of him. Twelve O'clock. He had a shocked look on his face. 'The shark-looking guy. He... he just killed two of his comrades in cold blood! But... why?' As Kazuto then jumping from tree-to-tree and chasing the Kirigakure Shinobi, he suddenly thought of Miru's innocent and pretty face. 'I need to stop him!' Kazuto then more chakra and jumped from tree-to-tree. Faster than before.
One of the Konoha Shinobi noticed that Kazuto was moving on ahead and leaving them behind.
"H-hey! Don't go off on your own!" One Konoha Shinobi yelled, but his words fell onto Kazuto's deaf ears.
"What does that idiot think he's doing?"
"Hey."
"Hm?" The Konoha Shinobi that were talking about him had just noticed that their leader, Ibiki Morino had caugjt up with them.
"Captain!"
"Where's Kazuto?" Ibiki asked.
"H-He went up ahead, sir!"
"We tried telling him not to go ahead of us, but he wouldn't listen!"
After listening to their speeches, Ibiki the. looked forward, Twelve O'clock and narrowed his eyes.
Meanwhile, Kisame Hoshigaki, Miru and two other members of Kirigakure's Cypher Division had stopped when they had met a cliff. As they were there, Kisame had thought of an ultimatum.
Miru gasped in horro as he had witnessed Kisame murder two of her comrades in Cold blood. Their lifeless bodies just lied on the ground as they had bled to death from fatal stabbings. "Hoshigaki-san?"
Kisame slowly walked toward Miru with the hilt of his blade gripped, tightly. 'Nothing personal, girl.' Kisame then raised his arms high in the air. Getting ready to strike Miru down, vertically.
Miru's black pupils had shrunken a few centimeters in horror. As she stared at the edge of Kisame's blade. And as Kisame was ready to strike Miru down... he suddenly stopped before his blade could touch Miru's skin.
Miru gasped as he noticed Kisame's blade was a few centimeters away from cutting her chest.
Kisame had sensed another person's presence coming closer and closer from One O'clock. Then, he looked up at the sky to see a Konoha Shinobi named Kazuto Hyūga falling out of the sky and landing near him with a katana in his possession.
Kisame had quickly jumped a few yards back before Kazuto Hyūga could land and attack.
Kazuto then stood in front of Miru with his back facing her.
Miru gasped when she sees Kazuto placing a hand in front of her. Telling her to stay back. "Why are-"
"You..." Kisame said as he spotted Kazuto. He then remembered seeing Kazuto, before Ibiki approached them.
"Don't you dare touch her!" Kazuto told Kisame as he gripped his double handed katana.
"What's your relationship with that woman?" Kisame asked.
Kazuto clinched his teeth as he couldn't come up with anything. Then, he calmed down. "Nothing."
"Hm?"
"Our relationhip has zero chemistry!" Kazuto boldly replied to Kisame.
Miru continued standing behind Kazuto-despite being targeted by Konoha. 'I'm glad that this person had saved me.' Miru's smile of relief quickly turned into a mild frown. 'But... I fear that he might only be doing so, because I'm their target.' Miru then looked over to Kisame. 'And Hoshigaki-San... if not for this person, then... Hoshigak-san really would've killed me.'
Miru was happy to not be killed, but at the same time was still weary. She didn't really know who to trust. Whether it be her bodyguard, Kisame Hoshigaki, who murdered her comrades and tried to end her... or the Konoha Shinobi who's trying to capture her for intel.
"You're about to become nothing, as well, if you choose to keep interfering with our affairs." Kisame smiled as he gripped his blade. Tightly.
"Tch! Like I give a damn what you sa-"
Suddenly, a whistle had been blown in the distance. Catching all three of their attention. Kazuto and Miru looked at the woods, Three O'clock, while Kisame looked, Nine O'clock.
'Reinforcements?' Kisame questioned in his mind. Then, he slowly grinned.
'That whistle... it's gotta be Ibiki-san. Which means...' Kazuto thought.
Miru gasped when she saw Kisame jump a few dozen feet high in the air. "Hoshigaki-san?"
Kazuto gasped and looked at Mirai. Then, he turned his head back toward Kisame, who wasn't on the ground. 'W-where did he go?'
Suddenly, a kunai with a paper Bomb attached to it had landed in front of Kazuto's feet.
Kazuto gasped, then looked upward at the sky to see Kisame throw a few more kunai attached to paper bombs surrounding Kazuto's and Mirai's feet.
Kazuto saw that each and every paper bomb attached to the kunai were about to detonated in front of them. He gasped, then grabbed Miru's shoulders.
"Move!"
Within the next second, the paper bombs had exploded surrounding Kazuto and Miru had exploded. Luckily, Kazuto was fast enough to move himself and Miru away from the explosions caused by the paper bombs. But hadn't realized that Kazuto and Miru were by the edge of a cliff. Kazuto had led Miru to the edge of the cliff, indirectly.
Miru coughed after accidentally inhaling some of the smoke from the paper bomb explosions.
"Are you okay?" Kazuto asked as he grabbed Miru's shoulders.
"I'm fine." Miru nodded toward Kazuto.
Within a second, both Kazuto and Miru heard the sound of the ground breaking. It had taken them a few seconds to realize that the ground under their feet was breaking apart. And that they were on the edge of a cliff.
Miru gasped.
Kisame had landed onto the ground and smiled as part of the cliff cracked.
Kazuto looked at Miru in her eyes. "Mo-"
But before Kazuto could finish his words, part of the cliff that they were standing close to had suddenly collapsed. Causing the two Shinobi to fall off the cliff and into the fog.
Kisame slowly walked toward the edge of the cliff to see nothing but a deep fog from above. "Heh." He chuckled. 'They couldn't have survived a fall like that.'
"Stop!"
"Hm?" Kisame heard a masculine noise and turned back around to see a group of surviving Shinobi from Konohagakure. They all had katana and were ready to fight Kisame.
Ibiki slowly approached Kisame. Standing a few yards from each other. "Where is Kazuto?"
Kisame paused for a moment, then he smirked at Ibiki. "Heh." Feeling confident.
Author's Note: Kazuto Hyūga was inspired by Kirito from Swors Art Online. In one way or two.
There will be more parts. And for those who don't know, Miru is the woman who tried befriending Kisame. Then, she was killed by his own hands to prevent intel from leaking. Her face will be on the cover of the story.
