On a warm September Sunday mommy woke me up with the news that we were moving to Yucipa California. We would be meeting her friend lucy who has a daughter my age. Her name is Susie we have never met so I'm sort of excited, I am also anxious as I am mildly autistic. We would be leaving in 3 days as mommy grandma and some friends of ours needed to pack all our belongings and put them in a huge truck.
Susie's pov I woke up on Sunday morning and headed downstairs where my mommy told me that her friend from Montana were moving here in just 3 days. She asked if I remembered her friends Lilly and Dianna. I said sort of is Dianna the sort of shy little girl with reddish brown hair and glasses. Mommy said yes but she is shy because she is slightly autistic. That afternoon I told the rest of the gang minus Jake and Sam about Dianna moving here.
2 Sundays later mommy grandma and I piled into her car and headed out. A friend of my late daddies was following us in the truck. You see we lost my daddy when I was 1.5 in a car accident. We drove for what seemed like a million hours but was only about 4 before we stopped for lunch. We then drove to a hotel in the state of Washington. Where we stayed overnight before driving the rest of the way the next morning.
When we arrived in Yucpia we went to Mommies friend Lucy's house. When she saw me she asked is that Dianna and mommy said yes as I hid behind her legs as I was anxious with so many people around. After a bit a little girl came and introduced herself to me as Susie.
She took my hand and led me to the back yard where I met Tommy and his brother Dil, Chuckie and his sister Kimi, MinJun and his sister JiYeon. I also met twins Phil and Lil Kai and Kya, then she introduced me to Jake who was Blind and his friend Sam, and finally Angelica who is tommy's cousin and sort of a bully and the cutest baby I had ever seen Zack who was 2.5 to my 3.5.
we hit it off right away as he and I figured out that we Lived in the same apartment building. That night Mommy Took Zack and I home as his Auntie had to work so he got to stay with us. The next morning mommy got us ready for daycare and dropped us off. She talked to the teacher about my autism and gave her my lunch bag before coming over to say goodbye. She told me that Zack's auntie would be picking the 2 of us up. Because she needed to work on getting her store all set up and grandma was busy setting the apartment up.
We met everyone else in the big playroom where we decided to make paintings. They all started using their fingers while I grabbed a brush Zack asked me why do don't you use your fingers? I said let me tell you guys about something I have a mild form of autism. What does that mean asked Sam it means I am different then you guys in some ways. Such as I don't like certain things such as the way paint feels. Is autism something you can catch asked Lil no I said it's a disability I was born with. You remind me of my best buddy from Virginia said Jake he also is autistic. Are there more things we need to know asked Zack sure I am sort of clumsy and fall a lot. I have issues with things like catching a ball but you know what I am who I am and am proud of it.
That night at bedtime Mommy tucked me in and we talked about my day. She was happy I told my friends about my autism. I then went night night as I was sleepy from a busy day.
