Ruby heard a noise. She thought it was an alarm clock, but it was not.
"Ugh," she groaned, "Why do we even have that?"
She fell on the hard floor, and looked around. She then saw she was in a different outfit, but it was similar to her original one.
Her outfit comprised of a black red lined lace-up corset with four buckles hanging loose over a mesh sleeveless top over a white low cut long-sleeved blouse, as well as a black choker around her neck. She wears a red pleated skirt that is split at the side with a small brown belted strap across the gap, and bright red shorts under it. On her arms, she wears black bracers with large brown buckled straps around the wrist as well as black fingerless gloves.
Around her waist, she now has a brown belt with several bullets with a buckle of her emblem on it alongside a pouch on the right side with a zwei based emblem and she wears black, thigh-high steel-toe boots with red soles and heels, a single buckled strap, rear seam and a large brown buckled strap with attached pouches near the top, over a pair of brown mesh tights. In addition, she had a new hood around her neck.
"What's going on?"
Just then, the bed went into the wall, and the door slammed shut. The room then started to go down like an elevator. It suddenly stopped, and the light stopped buzzing, and went into the roof. Then, a door was seen opening into another room.
It was metal, and had all sorts of doors, in the shape of an octagon. It had a table with one chair in it. At least, that's all Ruby saw.
She slowly got up, and walked into the room.
"Hello?"
As the door closed behind her, Ruby looked at how tall the ceiling was.
Ruby then stepped on something, and looked down to see it was a chair! If this was a normal sized chair, then... Ruby almost turned pale
Thankfully, a pair of voices distracted her from the thought she just had.
"I thought we were getting a new monster. But we just got a pair of legs."
"Sh, she'll hear us!"
"How, legs ain't got ears."
"SHUT UP YOU TWO!"
"Hello?" asked Ruby, "Is anyone there? Can you please tell me where I am?"
Just then, an arm came down, and dropped cookies on the table. Ruby slowly walked up to the plate, and she picked one up. She then heard something.
"Hello? What was that?"
Ruby then looked behind her, and saw, a white robot.
It looked like a salt shaker, but had a skirt with a black base, with bumps all over it, a rotating mid section with a gun stick and plunger arm. Above that was a section of vents that looked like cones stacked on each other.
"Hello," said the bot.
"AAAUUUGH! EVIL ROBOT!" cried Ruby, as she slammed her fist down.
The bot ran in circles, and soon, was slammed into the table.
"Whatever mad scientist made you," moaned the bot, "He really went all out!"
Ruby backed up a bit, and said, "You can, talk."
"AUGH!" cried Ruby, as she tripped.
"Woah, you okay?" Ruby looked at her foot, and saw she slipped on something. She pulled it off, and it took form.
The figure has a tall, malformed figure, with skin made of black ink resembling tar. His head highly resembles that of the little devil, but the top area of his head appears melted, obscuring his eyes. His horns are slightly more curved to bear a shape like a deformed crescent moon, being able to articulate similarly to animal ears. His toothy, Cheshire grin, with sketch-like shadings, is shown to vibrate. His spine appears slightly crooked or curved, similar to the spinal condition scoliosis. His bow-tie is also slightly in place.
"Hi there!" said the figure.
"YEK!" he then was split in two!
"ACK, MY BACK!... JUST KIDDING, I DON'T EVEN FEEL PAIN!"
"Forgive him," said the bot, "But as you can see, he has no... brain."
"Turns out, you don't need one," said the ink figure, "Totally overrated! In fact, I don't even-"
The ink figure stopped, and was panicking, "I FORGOT HOW TO BREATH! DON'T KNOW HOW TO BREATH! HELP ME DR. BOTS, HELP! I CAN'T-!"
"Suck, in, Bendy," said Dr. Bots.
Bendy sucked in, and said, "Oh, wow, man, that was amazing. You're a life saver, Doc."
Just then, a honk was heard.
Ruby looked down to see a rusted tow truck.
He is brown, with some baby blue spots, no hood, with bucked teeth, and green eyes where his wind shield is.
"DAH HA, HA HA HA! BOY THAT WAS FUNNY RIGHT DHERE!"
"O kay," said Ruby, looking a bit scared.
Ruby slowly backed up, and she looked at truck, as it said, "Ha, ha, I like you already! My name's Mater."
"M... Mater?" asked Ruby.
"Yeah, like Tomater, but without the ta!"
Just then, an ape with some armor on appeared in front of Ruby.
The Ape had black fur, and a silver back, and his armor covered him like he was a roman.
"Wow, look at you," said the ape.
I know what you're thinking, first day in prison and you wanna take down the toughest guy in the yard. Well I'd like to see you try!"
He then did kung-fu moves, until he broke his back. "You okay Gerald?" asked the truck.
"Yeah, I'm good Mater, but look, she's speechless."
"She?"
"Yes, Bendy," said Dr. Bots, "We are in the presence, of the rare, female monster."
"No way, it's a boy! Look at his boobies!"
Mater then just shook his head, and Gerald said, "We need to have a talk."
"Gentlemen, I'm afraid we're not making a very good first impression," said Dr. Bots.
"At least I'm talking!" said Gerald, "First new monster in years, and we don't get like a wolf-man, or, or a mummy, you know, just someone to play cards with."
"Might we ask your name mad'am?" asked Dr. Bots.
"Ruby."
"No, we mean, we mean like you monster name," said Mater, "Like, in d-he movies, and TV shows."
"W-W-What? I'm not a monster. I'm just a regular human!"
"We all were," said Dr. Bots, "But, you said you're name is Ruby?"
"Yes."
"Nice to meet you, I'm Gerald."
"Dr. Bots."
"Bendy."
"And I like your name," said Mater, "It's nice, sweet, and suits you."
"Also," said Gerald, "You're ten times taller than the average Human and Faunus, so, yeah, you're a monster."
"I-"
A buzzing was heard, and Dr. Bots said, "Lunch!"
The others then headed to the table. Bendy got a large pizza, which he sucked down. Mater got 3 liters of oil and 5 gallons of gas. Dr. Bots got electricity surging through him. Gerald had bananas.
Oh god, thought Ruby, Please let this not be real. Please just tell me I had a nervous break down at graduation, and now I'm in a hospital, and I'm on medication, and it's giving me hallucinations.
She then hit the wall, only it was warm, rough, and scaly. Ruby looked up, and saw a massive green dinosaur, with scales going down it's back all the way to it's tail.
As the beast roared, Ruby screamed, and took off.
"DON'T SCARE REPTAR!" said Gerald, "HE'S GONNA PEE HIMSELF! Then we'll all be in trouble."
"EVERY ROOM HAS A DOOR!" cried Ruby as she banged on the walls, "THERE HAS TO BE A DOOR HERE, WHERE'S THE DOOR!?"
"It's okay buddy," said Gerald, as he walked up to Reptar, "Don't worry about it. Who's a handsome bud, huh? You like it when I rub your tummy?"
Ruby was now panicking.
"PLEASE, SOMEBODY, I DON'T BELONG HERE! LET ME OUT!"
Ruby went around, slamming on the walls
"Hey hey!" said Gerald, "That is not a good idea!"
"LET ME OUT!" Just then, a door opened, and two eyes were looking down at her. She thought they were eyes, until a voice said, "Ruby?"
From the dark, came some very familiar figures to her.
It was her family, team, and another figure who looked like an older version of Weiss.
Her father, Taiyang Xiao Long, was there, as well as Qrow Branwen, her uncle.
Taiyang is a man with blond hair that has two small strands sticking out from the top and blue eyes. His facial hair consists of a soul patch and small stubble along his jawline. On his right arm is a tattoo of his emblem, which resembles a heart. His hair was once a bright shade of gold, but in his older age, it has notably grayed somewhat - still blond, but far more subdued.
He wears brown cargo shorts with a dark brown belt, black shoes, a red bandana on his left arm and a brown leather vest over a tan dress shirt with the right sleeve cut off. For armor, he wears a metal spaulder, leather vambrace and a brown fingerless glove all on his right arm.
Qrow has graying black, spiky hair, faded red eyes, and slight stubble along his jawline. Along with a red, tattered cloak, he wears a gray dress shirt with a long tail, black dress pants and black dress shoes. In an old picture of him with his former team, Qrow looked exactly the same but lacked stubble.
He also wears a ring on his right index finger, two other rings on his right ring finger and a necklace with a crooked cross-shaped pendant.
Qrow's bangs are down most of the time, but he sometimes pushes his hair back when fighting. In addition, his hair is made to look like it is composed entirely of feathers.
The other figure's outfit, which was Weiss's sister, consists of a white long-sleeved coat with a single dark blue clasp around the center waist holding it shut alongside a red jeweled brooch on the collar. The coat's length runs down to her ankles and the sleeves are split from shoulder to elbow. She wears a white pleated sleeveless blouse with a dark blue waistcoat. A pair of white trousers with dark blue garters alongside a pair of gray thigh boots with black detailing around the knees. She also wears a pair of black forearm length gloves with gray trimmed cuffs.
"Monsters," said the adult in front, "Return to your cells."
The monster all walked and rolled back to their cells, while Reptar was baited with meat, and the doors all closed behind the monsters.
"You guys!" said Ruby, "You're here! Am I going home? What's going on?"
"Ms. Rose, please listen," said the adult.
"Winter, what's going on?"
"And, why did you call those guys, monsters?" asked Yang.
"Well, to simply put it, I'm in charge of this facility," said Winter, "Now follow me. It's time for the orientation."
"Orientation?" asked Taiyang.
"What you are about to hear is very forbidden. You will not be allowed to repeat what you are about to hear," said Winter.
Ruby was lead into a large room, and she saw airships flying around her, as the platform she was on moved.
"50 years ago, the Atlas council decided that the public couldn't handle the truth about monsters, and should focus on more important things, like the Grimm, and world peace. So the kingdoms convinced the world monsters were a stuff of myth and legend, and locked them away in this facility. My family has been given the responsibility of looking over this place. My father was the last person my Grandfather even considered for this job."
"But," said Blake, "He chose him for the Schnee-"
"He'd rather have his public image ruined, then have the poor monsters in here be turned into weapons for profit," said Winter.
"But Ruby's not a monster!" said Yang, "She's just a regular person."
"I'm sorry," said Winter, "but the public would not agree with you."
"But, I'm careful with all things!"
Ruby then accidentally hit an airship, and it crashed on the platform.
"Don't let her get me," said the pilot.
"Sorry," said Ruby.
They all then headed up wards, and Ruby asked, "How long will I be here?"
"Indefinitely," said Winter.
"What!?" yelled Yang.
"Listen, our family has been through enough heart break," said Qrow, "And we can't have Ruby here forever!"
"Can't I contact my friends?" asked Ruby.
"No," said Winter.
"Does anyone know where I am?"
"No. I'm sorry, but this place is under deep cover. My Grandfather left this to my mother, who gave the responsibility to me, and not even Ironwood knows about this. I can't have him weaponizing these poor people who have been through enough already! There will be no contact with the outside world."
Soon, they were all taken to another room, and Winter said, "As long as you're here, what you're about to see can never, EVER, be told to the public. Now, this is Reptar. He was created in a nuclear testing field, and the radiation turned the poor lizard into a 350 ft tall, fire breathing monster, that attacked Mistral."
"Wow," said Weiss, as she looked at Reptar.
"This is Gerald. He comes from an extinct lineage of apes from Menagerie. He was frozen in ice in the southern regions, and scientists accidentally thawed him out. He went on a rampage, but your father, Ghira Belladonna, managed to assist us in securing him."
Gerald was working out, and lifting weights.
"Feels good. You know, I think the blond one seems like a good brawler. I'd like to fight her some day."
"This young man is Bendy. He was infected with a chemical that transformed the water in his body into ink. He is now able to with stand any force, and he is able to morph into anything."
Bendy then turned his hand into a puzzle piece, and he put it it, and he found the last piece.
"Nice," he said.
"This truck is called Tow Mater. He was originally called Larry, but he was struck by lightning, and his con-scenes was transferred into a tow truck, which was named Tow Mater. He just goes by Mater for short."
Mater then lifted a block, and then farted, and said, "Oh lord!"
He then giggled.
"This bot is called Dr. Bots. Originally known as Eric Einstein, he invented a small armored tank, but like Mater, he was electrocuted, and his mind was put into the main frame of the robot. He then renamed himself Dr. Bots."
Dr. Bots was working on electric circuits, and he made them light up.
Soon, the last cell opened up, and Winter said, "We tried to get you more comfortable, so I got the prison psychologist get some things to try to help cheer you up Ms. Rose."
Ruby looked in, and saw pictures of her in the Tournament, Beacon, family, friends, and her growing up.
"But I don't want pictures. I want to be out there, helping people. I want to go home!"
"Ms. Rose, please don't cry," said Winter, "It's gonna make me cry. I don't look like it, but I'm sensitive in family matters. When I joined the military, my father cut off all ties with me and the rest of us. I couldn't even speak to Weiss over her scroll for months. Just know, every monster here had been taken from their normal lives. If you wish to talk to anyone, just let them know, or even me."
Winter landed the craft, and said, "You all have 12 hours to spend. Then you leave."
"You mean we'll never see her again!?" asked Yang.
"I'm sorry. It's just my orders."
"Winter-"
"Weiss, please. I'll let her keep in touch every now and then. Just make these last ones the best."
As the door closed, Winter said, "Oh, Ms. Rose, one more thing. The Atlas Military has changed your name to Titanis."
Ruby gasped, then hugged herself, and fell into the corner. Yang then hugged her 'big' sister's ankle.
"Ruby," said Yang, "I promise, some how, I'll get you out of here."
"So will I," said Qrow, "I know these are for your safety, but it can help bring the world closer together."
Ruby didn't care. After this, she wouldn't see her friends and family ever again.
