Sword and Monsters
Reviews and Stuff
To Everyone: Alright, first things first. Thank you to everyone who followed, favourited, and reviewed to this right off the bat. To be honest I didn't even think would gain any traction (would still have kept on writing anyways if it didnt gain any since im trying to use writing as stress relief). I don't promise to keep or improve the quality of this in the future as I would most likely fail, but Ill keep trying anyways.
Jarc503okami: Yeah, Mae and Ravi got saved just in time by Shirou before getting mauled and burned to death by a Lunastra. Also about the New World(MH World), I probably won't be going that far ahead just yet and focus on the Old World(Old Generation MH Rise and Sunbreak maybe?). Haven't played World, Rise and Sunbreak, and Frontier so I won't dabble into it and get things wrong.
Also about the Great Black Dragon, which one? There's atleast 5 of them in the main series without counting Disufiroa from Frontier. About the Equal Dragon Weapon(Dragon Chimera), I have a few Ideas on how to continue with this but unless I went somewhat full head canon here, Im not gonna be touching on the subject for a while. Probably just being mentioned by the Guild or something in the future and nothing more until I get more ideas on how to go about it.
Anyways on to the chapter.
Chapter 1 : New Beginnings.
Earth: Year 20XX, in a Warzone in the Middle East.
Buildings, homes, and infrastructure that can be seen as far as the eye can see are all either nearly crumbled or destroyed as the loud sounds of bullets and explosions ensued.
In one particular structure, barely intact but enough to provide cover was a man who had his back against the wall and bleeding and slowly losing his consciousness as his breathing began to whittle away.
But the man was not frowning nor sad; on the contrary, he was smiling. Seeing as he had told the civilians in the area to evacuate leading them to be saved from their eventual deaths should they have stayed here.
He had held the enemies off on his own to ensure that they wouldn't follow the others, and he succeeded. He had no regrets if he perished here, no, maybe one regret towards his past lover.
Rin was always there with him in every step of the way on guiding him to become a proper magus even though he will always be bound to be unable to use other magecraft.
She was always there with to try and steer him away from the path to hell he was walking into, yet to no avail. His ideals, no matter how fake or borrowed they may be, the ideal to save everyone is beautiful no matter how unattainable it may be.
He regrets the fact that their last meeting ended up in a fight, with her making him choose between her and the ideal he believes in, and she left him when he couldn't give an immediate response as they both already know what decision he would make in the end.
After all, he promised "Him", he swore to him that he will never regret the path he treading and how it ends after he saw "His" past experiences. He will never become like "Him" who had given up on their Ideals.
The man slowly brought a hand towards a red jewelled pendant on his neck, and held on to it as he asked for forgiveness.
"Im sorry...Rin, looks like... Ive wasted all... your efforts to... trying to lead me... away from my path..." he said in a hoarse voice.
Then all of sudden, everything went still as a entity known as the collective unconscious will of humanity to avoid extinction appeared before him in the form of a blue sphere with rings once again. The man already knowing what it wants.
[The individual known as "Shirou Emiya" is given the offer to have a contract with the Counter Force. Will you accept?] The entity said with mechanical like voice.
"N..o..." was the last thing the man to have been able to say as he was starting to lose his consciousness, he can somewhat hear the entity saying something more but he couldn't properly hear anymore as he slowly drew his last breath.
And he was suddenly struck by a multitude of Kaleidoscopic colors and disappeared from this world.
Moments after Shirou gave his response to Alaya.
[The final Contract offered to the individual known as "Shirou Emiya" has been rejected. Searching for solutions to form the contract] The entity said as it is unsatisfied with the response it was given.
[Solution found, forcing the contract onto the individual "Shirou Emiya" to become a Counter Guardian. Beginning forced contract in Three. Two. On-] but the entity didn't get to proceed as Shirou Emiya was engulfed by Kaleidoscopic colors and disappeared.
[What is the meaning of this, wielder of the Second Magic Kaleidoscope?] The entity known as Alaya, a being that possess no emotion, said in a rare tone of anger frustration could be found in it's usually mechanical voice.
Then from the dark corner of the structure, an old man with white hair and ruby red eyes came forward with a smile on his face.
"Why to stop you of course~, I would have let you have your way had he accepted your offer. But forcing him into it would be another matter." The old man said in a jovial tone.
[Then why now? You have never meddled with our contracts to our Guardians before. Be it in this world or in another.] Asked again but back to its monotone mechanical voice.
The old man dropped his carefree smile and jovial tone and adopted a serious one. One that would send most of the Clocktower Magi chills down their spines.
"Just repaying a favor is all, a promising protege of mine decided to cash in a favor that her ancestor had with me." He said as he walked around the Spherical form of Alaya "And besides, you already have 2 of the same alternate individual and their alternate adopted father, treating them as dogs under your employ."
[...] Alaya could not refute the statement as it is the truth, nor can it harm and get back at the old man for meddling to acquire another version of its most efficient Counter Guardian, as the Old Man of the Jewels is technically on its side and could only metaphorically stare with disdain to the old man.
Seeing as it's purpose for coming here has failed, the entity left as quickly as it appeared. Leaving the old man alone while looking up towards the night sky.
"I hope you make good use of this second chance young man, and be glad that my protege gave you one." he said with a wistful smile etched on his face. "and you better provide this old man some entertainment as repayment." He chuckled as he was back to his usual carefree attitude and walk away and disappeared into the darkness now that his debt is now repaid.
Somewhere within the Rainforest(Old Jungle).
A child looking no more than 7 years old was lying down can be seen slowly gaining consciousness. Sitting himself upright and looking around the unfamiliar surrounding.
He tried to stand only to fall face first onto the ground, surprised that his balance was different to what it was before and he also felt that his weight was lighter.
Rolling himself onto his back, he brought his hands in front of his face, shock present on the child's face as his hands looked much smaller to someone with his actual age and instead of having five fingers, he now only has four on each hand.
One of his hand was still clutching on the red jewel pendant that his lover had used to save him that night when he was stabbed through the heart. Relief washed over him as he still had one of the only things he ever owned and treasures.
Sitting upright once again he looked at the puddle of water near to his right to take a look at the reflection of his face, only to once again be taken aback on his appearance.
His facial features was the same as when he was first adopted by Kiritsugu after the aftermath of the Fourth Holy Grail War, yet it does not end there.
His hair was still white as it was before due to his overuse of his projection magecraft yet there was small patches of red hair similar to when he was young.
His eyes were now heterochromatic with the left eye with the color of amber as when he was younger, with his right being the color of silver, the same as his later years also due to his overuse of projection magecraft.
But most of all, one feature that he didn't have in his younger and later years was long ears that made him think of features that an elf would have.
He shook his head to try make sense of things and tried to stand up again only to almost fall again but regained his balance on time before falling, this time however he also saw that his feet and toes were different.
He was now walking on the tips of his toes, heels not touching the ground. And speaking of toes, he also noted that he only had four them on each foot.
Since the moment the child woke up, he never said a thing about how incredulous the situation he was currently in. But now he could no longer contain the question he wanted to ask since the very beginning.
In a tired and exasperated tone of voice, only one word was all he said to generalize the absurdity of the situation he found himself in.
"What?"
AN:
Welp, here's what ever I could have come up with what I know of both franchise.
Before anyone asks, yes I know Rin only ever got to be Zelretch's protégé after Heaven's Feel route. Problem is with me trying to find a way to either have Rin somehow managed to recreate the Jeweled Sword of Zelretch in UBW Route( which if Im being honest here is very unlikely since Illya would probably already dead or still enemies with Shirou, so can't give him the remaining blueprints for projecting it.)
Or have this Shirou come from a route where it's a mix of UBW and Heaven's feel. Where Archer survives and Shirou didn't lose his arm. Have Illya with them and share the memories of Justeaze of JWoZ's blueprints.
Also if the way that Shirou is flung over to another world feels familiar to you, yeah Im not being very original with using Zelretch here but he's still pretty much the only character that could send 'someone' to another world. Or said 'someone' was able to reach the root and came out alive with a new True Magic(of which I am highly doubtful anyone could just manage to do) that is also able to travel between worlds.
Also Shirou being a wyverian part... Still gotta come up with something to justify it which I currently come up empty with. Well not exactly, I do have one but that might be too absurd I guess? Also would it be reasonable to give Shirou a Magic Core here? Even if it's something like a inactive Magic Core that would most likely require to be drenched Elder Dragon Blood( Something similar to Siegfried or Sigurd's legends) for it to turn Active? Also, thoughts of me upping the scale of Elder Dragons similar or lower to that of NasuVerse Dragons? Gonna need someone like FabledLife's opinion or someone else who is also knowledgeable of NasuVerse lore on this one .
Im definitely going to come back to these early chapters in the future to polish it more but for now I'd like to move on to the Monster Hunter side of the story.
Which would be the hardest part to deal with as Capcom is not known for being consistent with their stories and lore of Monster Hunter.
Like hell we don't even know if the Main series, Stories, Frontier, etc. are even held in the same universe! Like cmon Capcom give us a bit more exposition on the world of your game. ( I mean Frontier kinda does now since Espinas is in the Old World in the main Series, but how exactly?)
So from this point on I would most likely be going what information we have and mixed in with a bit of head canon stuff. So yeah... You have been warned.
And that's pretty much all I have to say at the moment. Still feels pretty weird to use writing as a method of stress relieving, but hey! it works pretty damn well if I do say so myself.
As for the next chapter, it probably won't come for a while since im preparing to enter college the next Monday. But ive got a planned omake at the end of it. I suppose the only hint I could give is 'Hipchecks' Lol.
