Randy grumbled under his breath while pausing his video game in order to get up and answer the knock on the door. Sure, he had been playing it the past two hours, but he'd only been enjoying it in solitude for the last hour. Not to mention the fact he was finally about to beat the pesky course he'd been stuck on the last 20 minutes.
It had been about a week and a half since Randy started staying with his sister, and her irritable boyfriend. Sandy had been pushing him hard at finding work. She helped him write up his resume and took him to different places for hours a day to drop them off, but had yet to hear back from one. He knew once he did get a call it was likely the employer would back off after finding about his arrest record, but he was determined to keep trying… just not today as it was Saturday. Sandy really seemed more focused on her grumpy mute of a lover today than him, so he was planning on enjoying that to its fullest extent as he was sure she'd be back riding his ass in no time at all.
Randy gripped the door handle with his right hand and sighed forcing a smile on his face. He opened the door and saw the lone feline woman standing in the doorway and found his smile was no longer so forced. It had been a while since he'd been able to say a word to a pretty woman. "Howdy, ma'am!" He admired her blue and gray pants suit, as he had rarely seen a woman be able to pull them off. "How can I help ya?"
The aqua blue furred cat looked at the man as shock came and left her face in less than a second. She fumbled a bit with the clipboard in her hand before turning her eyes back to the male squirrel that was only an inch or two shorter than her. "Hello. I was hoping to talk with Shadow." She lightly smiled while running a free hand over her short darker blue hair.
Randy took note of how her lips and hair were the same darker blue color. The three silver piercings in her left ear shined slightly as the sun hit her light blue fur, causing him to almost not notice the single piercing in her right ear, she was definitely unique and unlike any woman he'd ever met even before her saying a word. Her voice was very feminine, yet still held a force of power behind it. "Oh Mr. Mute ain't here at the moment. He and Sandy went out fer a run with the fire breathing fleabag." Randy's grin grew bigger as the woman before him friendly smile fell into confusion.
"Ok.." The female stated still unsure of his comment. "I'll just come back later. If you could jus-" Randy grabbed her arm, that wasn't holding her paperwork, and pulled her in the door.
"Not ta worry miss! They should be back pretty soon since they took that hell beast with 'em." Randy let the woman loose after she was in the living room and then shut the door before, he held out his hand in a jester for her to sit on the couch.
The female feline look of uneasiness, from him pulling her in, subsided fast as she nodded to the brown male squirrel and then she held out her hand to him. "I'm Mei."
He took her hand in both of his and shook it while locking his eyes on hers. "Randy. It's a pleasure ma'am." His grin went back to a more of a shy level as realized he was dealing with his sister's new people, and he better keep his tongue in line. Or at least try.
Mei looked the slightly shorter male up and down for a minute before walked over the couch and taking a seat. She studied the paused game screen on the TV. "Sandy's told me about you moving in." She then watched him take a seat on the opposite side of the couch next to her. "It's nice to finally meet you."
Randy's cocky grin returned as he found it hard to hold back his real self. "It's mighty nice ta meet ya too miss Mei!" He leaned back and picked up his game controlled and played with it for a moment before looking back at her. "Sandy hasn't said anything about ya, but that's probably in yer best interest." His smile disappeared for a moment as he looked down at the couch depressed for a few seconds. However, just a quickly he looked up to her and as he un-paused his game and went back to the main game menu. "Ya want take a try at Road Killer Racing? It's a combative racing game, pretty fun." He handed the controller to her, but she just looked down at it with concern.
She then looked up at him still showing she wasn't amused. "I've never played one of these games."
Randy laughed as he pushed the controller in her hands. "Of course, you haven't. You're an upscale, fancy, smart lady, and even more so than my sis ta da looks of it." He then scooted himself closer to her and placed his hands over hers to start the game. Only pulling himself away when the first course started. " Hit R1 to drive and X and O to use your weapons. " Randy found himself happy watching the screen to see how she'd do.
"R- what?!" She questioned as she started mashing buttons in attempt to amuse him in playing the childish game.
Randy took hold of her hands on the controller again and pressed her fingers lightly into the correct buttons. "There ya go." He giggled as she started to get the hang of it before letting go of her. "Yer a natural!" he proclaimed as she barely managed to pass the course, mostly, on her own. "Up fer another round, champ?" He teased.
Mei looked back at him semi annoyed, but sort of amused. "I don't understand this… game, but I will give it another shot." She shot a half grin back at the fuzzy brown male before attempting to not make a fool of herself on his turf.
"That'a girl, Mei!" Randy patted the female stranger on the back… finding himself not wanting to stay a stranger to her for long. He cheered her on watching her on the screen but found himself looking at her more than a few times. She was so out of his league…. He knew when he was beat right out of the gate, but couldn't help but hope to at least enjoy this one moment with her.
After about 10 more minutes of Randy trying to teach Mei to play his game Sandy and Shadow finally made their way though the door with Rune following closely behind. Sandy was laughing as she started to stretch a bit more once walking into the house before noticing her boyfriend's boss on the couch with her brother.
"Mei!" She walked up to her with a smile before glancing at her brother for a moment with a worried look. "We weren't expecting ya today." Sandy looked back at the feline female and took her into a light hug.
"Surprise visits are mandatory every so often." Mei smiled at Sandy somewhat apologetically as she stood up and handed the game controller back to Randy.
Shadow unhooked Runes lease before joining the two women. "Sorry you had to deal with him." Shadow stated coldly without even look towards Randy.
"Oh! No need to worry, Randy was a delight." Mei looked down at Sandy's brother and smiled very sincerely." He introduced me to these TV games."
"Video games." Randy corrected with a laugh of delight as he turned the system off via his controller.
"Shall we?" Mei questioned Shadow getting a nod of his head in approval as she picked up her clipboard and followed him through the house.
"Randy!" Sandy chastised as she sat next to him on the couch. "I really hope ya behaved!"
Randy looked at her amused at how upset she seemed to be at this moment. "Don't worry Sandy… I only had her suck my dick two times instead of my usual three-time requirement." Sandy punched him hard on the arm causing him to drop the controller and grab his assaulted limb gingerly. "OW! Kidding!"
"Randy, ya really shouldn't be talking to Mei, but if ya have ta ya better be nothing more than a gentleman." Sandy demanded as she looked fiercely at her brother who was still sitting on the couch.
"She's hot!" Randy laughed accepting another punch in the side from his sister.
"Randy don't! I've already told her all about ya." Sandy stressed.
Randy stopped laughing and looked back as his sister more than a bit disappointed. "So ya mean ya told her I'm a loser?"
Sandy sighed and pulled back away from him a bit. "I didn't say that, but I told her about yer troubles."
"Wow." Randy shook his head in irritation. "Glad yer helping me get better by putting me down ta everyone ya know."
Sandy gripped her brother's arms and pulled him close to her face. "Yer broke Randy, and ya need ta be built back up. It's only right I let those close ta me, and Shadow, know about yer… challenges."
Randy nodded now feeling more temptations than he had in a long time to find a drink. He pulled away from his sister, as he brooded on the other side of the couch. "I'm going fer a walk."
"NO!" Sandy demanded of him knowing full well his end game.
"I need air!" He stood up and made his way to the front door but stopped and looked back at her as Shadow, and Mei, made their way back into the living room with them.
"Randy, Mei needs to take a look in the room you're staying in. If you have anything creepy, or weird, you should deal with it now." Shadow crossed his arms as he leaned against the wall and waiting for Randy to take care the mess of a room, he currently slept in.
"I'm very proud of mah creepy and weird things." Randy was able to lift the left side of his mouth into a slight grin. "Have at it." He lifted his right hand slightly in a half-assed goodbye as he opened the entry door and walked out to the front porch. He fell onto the wooden bench swing that was in front of the Livingroom's large bay window and started to kick lightly causing the swing to propel slowly. The male squirrel closed his eyes as the midday breeze hit his face.
Randy could barely make out half of what was being said in the house, but he swore his name came up more than a few times. As much as he enjoyed being around his sister again, he couldn't help but feel bad for causing her so much trouble with her current roommate. He really didn't care for Shadow, and Shadow had no problem showing his negative views about Randy, and unfortunately Sandy was caught in the middle. He had to find a job, and fast before he caused any real damage in her personal life.
"If only Pa would'a let up on me a little." Randy cursed as he kicked his feet against the ground harder causing the swing to almost bash into the window behind him.
"Not sure that's the best swing to try to jump from."
Randy looked over to see Mei now standing outside smiling at him. "I save da real playground swings fer the second date, sweetheart." Randy laughed as he watched her take a seat next to him. Randy blushed a little and looked away as she sat closer to him than she needed to.
"Sorry about going through your space." Mei apologized as she enjoyed the cool fall breeze herself. "Don't you need a coat?" She asked noticing Randy only in a short sleeve tee shirt, and jeans, as his fur somewhat standing on end.
"I don't mind. I really shouldn't be here anyway." He jerked his neck around a few times until it cracked as he was now actually a bit nervous. "And it ain't dat cold." He lied but managed to make it look believable by his fixed on an emotionless expression.
"You want to get a cup of coffee together?" Mei asked.
Randy looked back at her surprised and was shocked to see her smiling. "Uhh…" He then coughed and stood up as he pulled out his wallet and looked inside. "I'll need ta drop by da bank first."
"No need!" Mei stood up and motioned for him to follow her. "It's on me. You can pick up the bill next time." She looked back at him still grinning as they walked up to her small black BMW sports car.
"Wow." Randy stated as she opened the driver's side door to get inside.
"Is something wrong?" She asked looking a bit concerned as she stopped entering her vehicle.
"NO! No!" Randy shook his head in amusement. "Ya got a really nice ride!" He ran his hand over the hood in admiration before opening the passenger side door and taking a seat. His smile became more giddy while shutting the door and looking at the plush leather upholstery and trim. "Wow." He started again as he ran his fingers gently over the dash.
Mei just looked at him briefly and grinned before starting the engine and kicking the car into gear fiercely. Likely in an attempt to show off, and it definitely got the reaction from her passenger she was hoping for.
