She comes twice.

That is enough for her to get out of bed, go to the gym or just get out of the house or something.

There is definitely something going on. Sakura doesn't know what it is. She isn't sure how to explain it. But concludes it's a thing when she nearly trips during her treadmill run, and her lady parts tingle at the sight of a guy with a ponytail.

Okay. That's it!

Frustrated at having almost lost her life and perhaps her pride, she steps onto the sides of the machine and reduces her incline to zero. This is even more annoying because Itachi isn't even around, yet she can't bring herself to focus on anything else. The reason she's at the gym at all is to clear her head.

Usually, working out helps when her mind is overwhelmed, and she's horny as hell but can't do anything about it. Like right now. Sakura expects to run until her thoughts clear to nothingness. Except, her thoughts choose to enact self-sabotage and redirect itself to the other mystery in her life.

When the treadmill incline reaches zero, Sakura bounces back on as punishment for her brain's utter betrayal. In retaliation, her musings meander back to one Uchiha Itachi. Even though she can't find words for whatever they were, they were something. Yet he said nothing to her from the time she was sprawled across his bedsheets.

Asshole. Ugh! This isn't even working anymore.

Sakura leaves the gym entirely, going home to find one Uchiha already in her house. Sasuke's well into whatever he's cooking when she opens her apartment door. Shrugging out of her jacket and tossing her gym bag aside, Sakura walks inside to confirm what she presumes. Sasuke's coat is hanging up, so her panic starts and stops at noises inside her apartment.

"Hey!" she calls and, after several seconds, Sasuke sticks his head around the corner.

"Hey."

Sakura makes her way to the kitchen while letting down her wet hair, spying what looks deliciously like tempura.

"Dinner?" she asks.

He's back at the stove, frying away. "Had a taste for it, yeah. Did you forget today was your day?"

She did, actually. Sakura only shrugs on her way to the shower and yells over the shoulder. "I remember now!"

Dinner is about as good as Sasuke's tempura can be. Which is decent, all things considering. They watch two movies on her couch before calling it a night. Sakura takes to washing the dishes while Sasuke preps to sleep on her couch. It is probably the better idea, but Sakura's already in a bit of a mood. She's no closer to figuring out what to do with Itachi if anything needs to be done. All of this has her feeling several types of ways. After putting the last dish away, Sakura catches Sasuke leaving the bathroom.

"Can you sleep with me tonight?" she asks.

Sasuke wrinkles his nose and eyes her scant sleeping attire. "No."

Sakura pouts at him. "Please?"

"No."

"I'd do it for you if you asked me!"

Sasuke rolls his eyes and corners her in the doorway. "Give me one good reason why we would sleep together that won't end in a fight?"

"End in a..." The connotation clicks in her mind. Sakura wrinkles her nose this time. "Not the sex kind of sleep with me. The last thing I need is even more confusing feelings. Sleep in bed with me tonight. You know, cuddle stuff."

"Cuddle stuff?"

"Yes."

Sasuke raises his eyebrows at her. "You want to cuddle."

She chuckles nervously, glancing away into the hall. "Please? I need some comfort of the male variety."

His exhale brushes against her cheek. Sasuke pulls away to give her space.

"You're just going to use me because I'm here?"

"Who else am I gonna use? You're such a whore, Sasuke. I don't even think this counts as using. Probably just your karma."

"While you're over here mouthing off, I could say no." He threatens but is already taking her hand and leading her to the bedroom.

Sakura squeezes his hand in gratitude and adds. "You're a nice whore."

"Fuck you."

"We can't remember?"

When they make it back to her room, the routine is familiar. He takes the left side. Sakura takes the right side. Sasuke pulls off his undershirt while she arranges decorative pillows on the chair near her vanity.

Sakura's cuddling style of choice involves laying face to face or face to collarbone in Sasuke's case. With a leg thrown over his hip and his leg squeezed between both of hers. Sasuke tucks one arm under his head and slips the other under the bottom of her shirt. Sakura wraps her arm around his waist and presses her face in the curve of his neck.

Sighing in contentment at not sleeping alone, Sakura gets comfortable when Sasuke interrupts her serenity.

"Is it Jin again?"

Sakura blinks and pulls her head back to see his face. In the dark, hardiness in his grey eyes could be mistaken for annoyance. But Sakura sees the set in his brows and knows it's the way he looks when he's concerned. Sasuke only concerns himself with things he cares about. Which, considering her train of thought recently, is a welcomed distraction.

Smiling to herself, she shakes her head and pokes his rib.

"Stop looking like you're going to kill someone."

"If you stop avoiding the question, I will."

She rolls her eyes then tucks back in place. "It's not Jin."

Sasuke's voice surprisingly softens, and she almost thinks she hears hope. "Another guy?"

Sakura sighs, "...Yes."

"Are you going to need this again tomorrow?" he mutters to the top of her head.

Sakura isn't sure if she'll have her life figured out by then. "Probably?"

He huffs and scraps nails against her lower back. "I have something to do tomorrow if you plan on coming over, you're going to have to wait."

Sakura returns the favor, dancing her fingers over his forearm. "A date?"

"Maybe."

She seizes the opportunity. "I'll just hang out with Itachi until you get back."

"He's not home," Sasuke states. "He's out of town on a business trip."

The news makes Sakura's face sink. "Oh. I guess that explains why I haven't seen him around..."

Silence lingers for several seconds before she feels Sasuke shift, then in the kindest voice she's heard in a while, he says, "He'll be back next week. Don't worry too much about it."

In the dark, Sakura is grateful to have someone who understands without her having to say anything at all.

A/N: Two best friends in a room, they might kiss. No, they won't. Seriously, they won't. Also, two for one special!
