Author's Note: Hey everyone, sorry for being AWOL for so long. Life happened. As a way of saying "I'm sorry", here's a… spicy BBRae story.

Demons Like it Hot

"Come oooon, Raeeee!" Garfield insisted, waving a jalapeño pepper right under her nose. "Just a small, teensy-weensy little bite?"

"Gar!" she growled and pushed the hand with the offending vegetable away from her face. "Which part of 'NO' didn't you understand?"

Garfield's grin turned into a pout. "Awww mama, you never wanna try anything new!" His head tilted a little and a small nuance of sadness appeared in the corners of his eyes. "I just wanted to make you happy..."

Raven bit her lip. Sweet Azar, please don't make him use The Face! she gulped inwardly, knowing that her resistance would rapidly crumble in the face of (pun intended) those gorgeous green puppy-dog eyes.

"You know I'm used to eating bland food, Gar," she tried to speak calmly and rationally, even though she knew that her green boyfriend was seldom swayed by logic or common sense. "I've eaten it all my life. And you know I'm never comfortable with changing my routine."

The grin returned to Garfield's face, this time together with a definitely devilish glint in his eyes. He leaned forward over the restaurant table to whisper in her ear. "And who was it that screamed 'Oh, yes, Gar, right there! That's the spot! Don't stop, don't stop!' last night when I tried something new?"

"Garfield!" Raven hissed, her face suddenly burning as she pulled hurriedly back and away from him. She stared at him wide-eyed, realizing he'd maneuvered her into a trap. She shook her head; she kept underestimating him, and now she was paying the price.

"I don't know, Gar," she tried one last, feeble defense. "The spiciest thing I ever ate was a slice of pepperoni Cyborg gave me from his pizza. What if..."

"Don't worry," he clasped her hand in both of his to reassure her. "I'll ask for a glass of milk. If it starts getting too hot, just rinse your mouth with it and it'll go away."

"Milk, huh?" Raven said, resigning herself to the inevitability of it all. "Very well," she sighed. "Let's get this done and over with."

Beast Boy grinned his victory and turned to order a glass of milk. Raven glared at the green fruit, an uneasy feeling invading her guts. This isn't going to end well, she grumbled to herself. She had no idea how prophetic that thought was.

The milk came, removing the last chance for procrastination. She picked up the jalapeño, studied it for a few moments with suspicion, gathered her courage and bit off the very tip.

At first she was surprised at the pleasant warmth that spread slowly through her mouth, and the taste wasn't bad at all. Since nothing unpleasant seemed to have happened, she dared to take another, much larger bite.

"Mmmmm," she couldn't resist purring as she chewed the morsel thoroughly and swallowed, the heat now spreading over her belly. "This is good," she murmured as she finished off the rest of the pepper and gave her beaming boyfriend a coy look. "I wouldn't mind another."

In the end she polished off four of the hot peppers and was about to ask for more when she noticed a strange feeling of heat building up inside her. She shifted in her seat, suddenly feeling uncomfortable with the surroundings and with her clothes that were stifling her; she couldn't wait to get out of them.

"Gar," her gravelly voice was somehow a little hoarser than usual, and her eyes glowed as she watched him. "Let's go home, I'm... a little tired." Azar, he's so handsome with that huge grin on his face...

"Sure, Rae," Gar nodded. He had already settled the bill, so in no time at all they were mounted on the B-ped and puttering towards the Tower.

In spite of all her declarations to the contrary, Raven loved riding the B-ped with her boyfriend. It was an excuse to huddle close to his wide, strong back and to clasp her arms tightly around his waist. For some reason it was especially thrilling that night, the wonderful heat inside her mingling with the warmth of his strong, toned body...

They stopped at a red light and Raven leaned forward a bit, bringing her mouth close to that cute, sexy ear of his that wasn't covered by the half-helmet he wore.

"Garfield," she crooned. There was something in her voice that made the hairs on the back of Gar's neck – together with some other parts of his body – suddenly stiffen and stand to attention.

"I need you, Gar" her hoarse purr made him shiver. He almost jumped off the B-ped when one of her hands slid down from his waist. "Get us home, now."

Beast Boy never could remember how he managed to drive to the Tower without getting them killed that night. Raven's hand had descended to where it definitely wasn't supposed to be, at least not in public, and the things she was doing with it had to be illegal. Her lips and teeth were all over his neck and his sensitive ears, kissing and nibbling while she described at length and in detail all the things she wanted to do to him. The B-ped screamed as fast as its Cyborg-enhanced-and-tweaked engine could take it through the empty streets, giving no heed to speed limits, red lights or stop signs.

Lady Luck was with them, and not only because they made it to the Tower without incident. The reckless race was recorded on dozens of traffic control cameras, but the recordings were quickly dismissed by the officials when they recognized the Titans and assumed they were responding to an emergency. Through sheer luck again, nobody thought it strange that two Titans that could actually fly were instead barreling through Jump City like bats out of hell on the fastest moped anyone had ever seen.

Leaving the B-ped in the garage they staggered to the elevator, their lips devouring each other and their hands busy exploring with trembling urgency. Belts, zippers and buttons were undone even before they reached their room and it was again pure luck that they didn't leave a trail of discarded clothing behind them for their friends to find.

They lurched shuffling into their room and fell on each other as soon as the door closed, right there beside it against the wall. Finished, they collapsed on the floor for some quick breaths before going at it again, and yet again after rolling to switch positions while still on the floor. It wasn't until Round 4 that they managed to actually reach the bed and finally indulge in some serious lovemaking.

Both Garfield and Raven were quite pleasantly surprised after discovering the aphrodisiac effects of spicy food on Raven's half-demon physiology. Not that their sex life was boring, or unsatisfying, or repetitive, just the opposite. Still, this unexpected ability opened up many new horizons enabling them to, well, spice up delightfully the intimate, physical aspect of their relationship. They did show a surprising amount of wisdom and maturity by agreeing to indulge sparingly, at most once a month.

This policy gave out bountiful dividends, allowing them to discover many cuisines they would have missed before – Sichuan, Hunan, Senegalese, Indian, Thai, Mexican, Peruvian and many others – and also to push the envelope when it came to pleasuring each other.

Yes, life was good for both of them. And yet every Eden has a serpent lurking in it. In their case it was Gar's inability not to mess with something that wasn't broken.

Gar leaned back, enjoying himself. Sichuan food was probably his favorite; besides the many vegan options it offered there were some really wicked things it could achieve with tofu. He watched fondly his girlfriend as she daintily ate, her eyes slowly starting to glow as the hot food began working its magic on her.

He grinned. Wonderful companionship, fantastic food and the certainty of wild sex afterwards – who could ever ask for more? Yet Garfield could, and that was the problem.

"I have a surprise for you tonight," Gar smirked as he lowered his head to rest his chin on his entwined fingers.

"Oh?" the empath tilted her head and took a small sip from her wine glass. "Is it for now or for later?"

"It's now, for later," he smiled, watching enraptured those amethyst eyes that were already darkening with desire. Raven bit her lip, and Gar felt his loins stir in anticipation.

"I hate surprises," Raven replied in a husky voice, licking her lips. The shapeshifter chuckled. "Yeah, I can see that."

Raven finished her dinner, pushed her plate away and leaned back, the image of a satisfied, relaxed woman, but the smoldering gaze that bored into him over the swirling wine glass held in her hand was as scorching as lava bubbling up the throat of a volcano.

"Out with it, then," she spoke with a cool disinterest that masked perfectly the fire blazing in her eyes. She smirked, and Gar barely managed to keep himself from jumping up when he felt her stockinged foot caressing the inside of his thigh under the table. "Or do I have to torture it out of you?"

The green morpher ground his teeth, which made Raven's smirk widen and her foot become more adventurous. "Rrrrrr," he growled and her fingers tightened around the glass. "Give me a moment."

He motioned to the owner of the establishment who was serving the celebrity customers himself. Gar nodded and the owner bowed before scuttling into the office and reappearing a few moments later with a piece of paper that he offered to Raven with another small bow.

The demoness lifted an eyebrow at her boyfriend. "It's a waiver," he chuckled. "Don't worry, just sign it."

The other eyebrow shot up to meet its counterpart. "Gar..."

"Trust me," he grinned. Raven rolled her eyes, sighed, signed on the dotted line and returned the waiver and the pen to the owner who bowed again and shouted something over his shoulder.

A few seconds later a teenage girl, obviously the owner's daughter, appeared from the kitchen carrying two small peppers on a plate.

Are those surgical gloves on her hands? Raven noticed with some confusion. "Gar, what is this?" she asked as the girl lowered the plate in front of her, bowed and then retreated with her father to watch them intently from a few tables away.

Garfield grinned playfully and his eyebrows waggled suggestively. "Those, my love, are Carolina Reapers, officially the hottest peppers in the world. Some of these bad boys –" his finger played close to the gnarly red fruit, careful not to touch it, "– have been clocked at 2.2 million on the Scoville scale."

Raven frowned, cast a quick glance at the owner and his daughter, and satisfied they couldn't hear her leaned over the table to whisper fiercely. "Garfield, right now I'm barely keeping myself from jumping you right here on this very table, and to the Nine Hells with anyone watching! And on top of that you want me to eat those?"

Garfield shrugged and smirked. "What can I say, I like living dangerously."

She tilted her head, studying him carefully. A tiny but disturbing smile spread over her features and her small, sharp teeth glistened behind it. "Very well. But you'll have to arrange for someone to pick the B-ped up tomorrow. I'll make a portal directly to our room as soon as I eat them."

Some of Gar's smugness evaporated and he fought the desire to gulp. "Deal," he said a bit more hoarsely than he wanted.

"Your funeral," she chuckled darkly, picked up the first Reaper and examined it carefully. It was twisted and gnarled, as if its own flesh rebelled against the appalling quantity of pain and suffering inside.

Still smiling that small but terrifying shark-like smile she popped the entire Reaper into her mouth and started chewing. "Mmmmm," a deep purr came out of her throat and her features flushed. Her eyes tinted red and another, smaller set of fiery crimson eyes opened above her brow.

"Very nice," she growled in an otherworldly voice, releasing shivers down Garfield's spine. She laid the stem down on the plate and took the second Reaper, eating it whole also. By now all four of her eyes were burning and her skin was turning reddish. This time Gar did gulp; the Demon was awake.

"Come," she said and extended a hand towards him. A black portal opened, shimmering with unlight. Gar took the offered hand and waved lamely to the owner and his daughter who were gaping at them.

"Sorry, superhero business, we have to run!" He threw way too much money on the table before being dragged into the portal by his demonic girlfriend.

They stumbled out of the portal and into their room, Gar's lips fastened on her neck while his teeth bit down hard at her pulse, driving every rational thought out of her already lust-drenched mind. She pushed him towards the bed while her avid, impatient hands fumbled with his belt. With the infernal contraption finally loosened, the button and the zipper quickly followed suit and his pants and boxers were yanked eagerly down to tangle around his feet.

Still being pushed back, Gar tripped, but luckily they had already reached the bed so instead of falling he ended up sitting heavily on it, bouncing up and down a couple of times. Raven's four eyes glowed with demonic hunger as they focused on the swaying prize she was after. She knelt in front of him and licked her lips. Her mouth watered as her head descended lower and closer...

A howl of indescribable pain and anguish rocked the Tower. Raven pulled back, the desire burning inside her cooled by confusion before being completely extinguished by fear and concern as she watched her green lover thrash and scream, one hand between his legs and the other clawing the linen and the mattress, shredding them to ribbons.

Understanding flashed in her mind and she facepalmed. "Trigon curse me, how could I be so stupid!" she shouted, waved her hand and fell into the portal that appeared suddenly beneath her feet.

"I'll be right there, Gar, just a few seconds!" she muttered as the portal dropped her off in the Common room. She hastened towards the fridge, ripping the door off its hinges and tossing it away carelessly with her power. "If Cyborg drank all the milk I'll have him begging for death!" she growled in a voice that resembled glass being crushed under a boulder. Luckily for the man-machine there was still more than half a gallon of milk remaining in the jug, and it hadn't spoiled yet. With a relieved sigh she grabbed a glass from the cupboard, poured the milk in with trembling hands and teleported back to their room.

Gar had stopped screaming, but he still writhed and squirmed on the bed, holding his most precious possession and whimpering in pain. Without wasting time trying to get him to listen she enveloped him in dark power and forced his hands away from his crotch.

"Aaaaaahhhhh!" a long groan of relief came from the changeling as the most sensitive part of his body was immersed in the cool white liquid that immediately soothed away the burning pain, his cramped muscles slowly relaxing.

"Oh, Garfield, I'm so sorry!" the sorceress sobbed, finally allowing her fear, concern and guilt to overwhelm her. "It's all my fault, I should've remembered, please forgive me!"

The shapeshifter blinked, still dazed and confused. He turned to his girlfriend and opened his mouth to ask what had just happened, when...

The door hissed open. Starfire, Robin and Cyborg rushed inside, ready for anything – anything, of course, except for the scene they now gawked at in astonishment. Their eyes goggled at the sight of the resident demoness sporting vivid, noticeable bite marks and hickeys on her neck and throat sitting on the bed beside her boyfriend, whose pants and boxers were still around his ankles and whose... um, dongle... was immersed into what looked like a glass of milk.

Cyborg was the first to react. He stepped back and retreated out of the room. "I don't wanna know," he mumbled, closed his human eye and turned off the cybernetic one. "I don't wanna know, I don't wanna know, I DON'T WANNA KNOW!" his voice rose to a shriek as he turned and ran away screaming, until a loud crash signaled that he had slammed against the wall at the end of the hallway and knocked himself out.

The loud sound finally pulled Raven out of her stupor. She grabbed a pillow from the bed and shoved it quickly onto Beast Boy's lap, hiding his state of undress and the incriminating glass of milk.

"What?" she asked in her most innocent voice, belied by the fierce blush burning on her face.

Robin picked his jaw off the floor. "We, um, heard a scream, so we... Are you two, uh, okay?"

Raven pinched the bridge of her nose. "We are fine, Richard," she said before her voice descended into a menacing growl. "And before you even ask, no, I will not discuss what happened, now or ever."

The leader of the Titans frowned, but quickly realized that Cyborg had a point and that his detective instincts would have to let this one go. "If you say so, Raven. As long as you're both fine..."

"We are. Now, unless there's anything else...? "

The Boy Wonder nodded and caught his girlfriend's hand. "Let's go, Star," he pulled her gently before smirking at the couple. "Let's give Raven and Beast Boy their privacy back."

Starfire's astonished gaze was pulled away from the pillow on Garfield's lap and she looked at her boyfriend with excited innocence. "Dearest, why did you not tell me that human male's burglorbs have to be recharged before the act of the copulation?"

For two endless seconds no one moved, spoke or even breathed. Then Garfield snorted and quickly covered his mouth, his shoulders shaking with suppressed mirth. Raven facepalmed again.

"Starfire, I don't think –" Robin groaned, his face as red as his vest.

"This is most wonderful!" the gorgeous alien interrupted him, clasping her hands. "There have to be different flavors to choose from, yes? Come, we must go at once to find a mustard-flavored recharge for you!" she exclaimed happily and floated out of Raven's room, pulling her boyfriend along.

Robin paused at the door, glaring murderously at the changeling and the demoness. He stabbed an index finger viciously towards them, then ran his thumb across his throat before the bubbly redhead yanked him away.

The door closed. Beast Boy and Raven looked at each other.

"We are so dead," Gar managed to say before they both collapsed on the bed, laughing hysterically.
