"MINI BOSS!"
Tenko jolted awake, eyes wide as he came face to face with the energetic blond girl he met the other day.
"It's my turn to hang out with you so I had this idea-" she said while walking over to his spot on the bed, casually sitting down next to him while she rambled on about the both of them going to the amusement and how much fun they were going to have.
"-Oh, I can't wait to go on those big rides! I got loads of money from some annoying guy I passed by on the way here who tried flirting with me so we'll be able to also buy a lot of snacks! I love sweets- what's you're favorite hmm?" she eyed the boy with bright eyes as he scooted farther from her.
"I- uh well... I like a-all sweets so..." "BORING" she interrupted him
"That won't do, so we'll just have to try all of the sweets there until you decide which one you like the most!" Tenko's eyes went wide in disbelief "What- but isn't that too much money? I- you don't have to you know"
"Ugh you stutter a lot, older you is so much more different. He never stutters and his voice is super scratchy, he sounds like a stoner but he's surprisingly not" she casually brought up his counterpart, his mood plummeting when he remembers that he's actually a villain in the future. Tears are about to form before she grabbed his wrist and pulled him off the bed.
"Plus who cares about the cost, I'll just steal more duh! And you need to get dressed, something bright since older you always wears dark and boring clothes" she went over to his wardrobe that he placed all his clothes that he and Dabi brought the day before. "Let's see what you've got her- OH MY GOD" she said as her smiled widened even more.
She pulled out an All Might themed shirt and said "you'll be wearing this now okay- no arguing" she sounded like she was muffling laughs as she flung the item at him.
He didn't really mind, after all he liked the shirt. He was the one who picked it anyways. He knew that the reason why they keep laughing when he talked about liking All Might was because of some joke about older him, but he still sent the girl a weird look before shrugging.
She gave him blue shorts to match with his whole All Might theme before saying much to his embarrassment "you can find your underwear on your own and get changed while I wait outside your door!"
When he exited his room, he was bombarded by the girls ongoing aweing at his appearance. He blushed at the attention he usually only got from his mother, before she plopped something on his head. He peaked from under the hat she put on his head to see her beaming at him.
The hat on his head was All Might themed, containing ears similar to the hero's hair.
"While you and Dabi was out yesterday, I decided I also wanted to do some shopping of my own! I bought some other hats that are animal and hero themed just for you! I also got more nail polish to use, we can paint out nails when we come back!" she said as she brought his hand into hers although she hesitated for a second, before dragging him towards the front of the bar where everyone else was settled in.
He smiled softly "y-yeah... that sound's fun"
She slowed a bit in her walking before smiling brighter than before.
She slammed open the door to the rest of the LOV except Magne and Spinner who were busy gathering information, lounging in the bar.
"LOOK WHO'S READY TO GO OUT!" she said loudly, as Dabi groaned in annoyance.
The others glanced at the duo, eyes zooming in on Tenko and his All Might themed t-shirt.
The silence following lasted a minute before the grinning teen girl decided to whisper something into the little boy's ear. He nodded towards her before looking up to everyone and saying with all the pride of a 5 year old-
"I am here!"
Both Dabi and Twice started guffawing, body's becoming weak as they started to collapse on their knees. Compress turned away, hand over his mouth as to stop himself from laughing. Kurogiri released something suspiciously sounding like a snort before returning to his usual stone faced self. Toga too was laughing while patting the confused and slightly embarrassed boy on the head. She was sure that if Spinner and Magne was here they wouldn't be faring any better.
"G-great job Tenko- they loved it" Toga said, eyes becoming a bit teary.
Dabi then took a huge intake of air, wheezing as he clutched at his stomach. "D-dude are you good? You look like you're trying to shit" Twice tried to say to the burned man but interrupted himself as he accidently took another glance towards Tenko and collapsed to the ground once again, sniggering into his arm.
Compress cleared his throat as he faced the boy with a smile on his unmasked face. "You look great kid, isn't that right Kurogiri?" Kurogiri paused but then nodded "yes, you look great young master" Tenko's face grimaced at being called young master but visibly brightened at the praise.
"Well, we gotta go now, bye bye! Say hi to Magne and Spinner if you see them for me" she said while dragging the 5 year old towards the exit of their hide out. Ignoring the two men who were still laughing on the floor, one of them looking like they were having a stroke as they released another painful wheeze. Tenko decided that villains are normally really weird, and ignored them.
When they entered the amusement park, the place only held a normal amount of people here and about. It wasn't very crowded because it was only around 10am, but it was still unnerving for Tenko, making him shuffle closer to the older girl. She didn't mind, holding his hand as she dragged him around the place, looking for which ride they should try first.
"Hmm, I know for sure that we're taking the Ferris wheel last, around the time the sun's about to set since that's when the views best! You're going to love it" she didn't wait for his reply before leading him towards one of the rides which held a short line of people. "Oh! Let's try the log ride first since it's best we get soaked wet at the beginning and gradually dry off as we continue trying other rides" Tenko nodded along to which she only smiled at him.
They waited for about 10 minutes, Toga making idle chat by pointing at things around them or taking pictures with him to show his older self in the future. He heard her mumble something about black mail but didn't bother thinking too much about it.
When they were about to enter the log shaped boat, Toga told him to sit in the front.
"Although you'll get most wet, it's best if you sit in front of me so I can hold onto you unless you fall off, I can't keep my eye on you if you're behind me now can I" she said teasingly as they settled themselves on the boat.
"Oh- yeah, you're right"
"Don't worry Tenko, you're going to have so much fun!"
They exited the boat, Tenko being soaking wet, his dark hair sticking to his face as he shivered when he felt the cold wind against his pale skin. Toga only laughed beside him, barely wet. He earned some amused or pitying glances from others who were waiting in line as they ventured off to another ride, only causing him to hide himself behind the still laughing girl.
"Awe, Tenko you're so adorable!" She fawned over him, earning even more amused glances and causing him to shove his face into her soft brown sweater.
"Don't worry, I know just the ride we should go on to dry off!" He withheld a groan to escape his lips as he settled on wordlessly nodding.
After about three more rides, Tenko's stomach made a gurgling noise which made Toga pause in her ramblings. He blushed at the noise but all the girl did was chuckle at his reaction.
"We didn't get to have breakfast so we should go find a food stand to get something to eat! I saw a hotdog stand around here- oh we can also buy some of the snacks after we finish eating while we walk around more. We can also bring some back to the hideout to share with the others!"
Tenko let himself get dragging around again, this time not surprised at the amount of energy the older girl contained.
They came to a halt once in front of the stand, Toga excitingly ordering after asking him what he'd like which he only responded with "Anything's fine"
After a bit of waiting, they received their order, walking towards an empty table to sit. When seated, Toga wasted no time in digging in to her hot meal, pausing at times to take a sip out of her coke that she also ordered along with fries. He had a similar meal given to him, except his drink and fries were smaller because of his smaller apetite.
"So" she started after finishing about half of her hotdog "what did you usually do for fun before? Like, with your family or whatever"
"Uhm, I liked to play in our backyard with Mon-chan- our dog -uhm, there wasn't much to do except go to school or play with my sister I guess..." he said nervously as he fiddled with one of his fries.
"Sounds boring, you said you like heroes right? You ever play hero with your friends or something?"
"Oh, I- I don't have friends..." he said quietly
She paused in her eating, looking up at the small boy who seems more pitiful to her now that she looks at him better. He looks so innocent and shy. So unlike the Shigaraki she knows it's jarring.
"Well, I didn't have friends either when I was your age so it's not surprising I guess. I only asked since that's what I saw other kids who liked heroes do whenever I was at school"
His eyes widened "You didn't have friends? But you're so nice!" He said before pausing and thinking to himself 'she's a villain though... but Mr. Dabi said that not all villains are bad because they want to... she's also kind of weird- but she's also fun...'
She giggled at his expression before deciding to explain "Well, when my quirk came in people didn't like it. They said it was creepy and villainous you know? Well, of course you don't know since you don't even have your quirk yet"
"Wait- what's my quirk? I thought I didn't have a quirk- and why would they treat you like that? That's mean, it's not your fault that you got whatever quirk you got" he said with furrowed brows.
"Slow down" she said although amused "first off, yes you have a quirk. I knew you didn't have it now since when you first appeared, I and everybody else noticed how when you touched something like that cup that Kurogiri poured for you, you didn't disintegrate it when you touched it with all 5 fingers. As for why people were mean to me, it's because they're all a bunch of judge-mental jerks that judge people on whatever quirk their born with." she said, her tone becoming harsher by the end.
"... what does di-disin-te-grate and j-judge-mental mean?"
"Disintegrate means when something turns to dust or just you know? Breaks to pieces I guess, and judge-mental are people who like to always have an opinion on everyone and thing"
"Oh... what's a opinion?-"
"You know what- never mind. Ask Kurogiri when we get back, but the point is, people are stupid and you know what I do to stupid people" she said with a grin on her face
"What?-"
"I stab them!" She said, face pulled in an intimidating grin
"S-stab?" he replied in horror
"Oh yeah, it's always nice to see blood everywhere"
"D-does that have to do with your quirk? blood I mean?"
"Yep, by drink someone's blood I can turn into them!"
"Woah... I still think that stabbing people is bad but- do you like, need to drink blood?"
she froze at the question "What?"
"Like food and water... do you need blood or do you just like hurting people" he said a bit nervously at the change in her demeanor
The girl was silent for a moment before responding "You know, you're the first person to ask me that... most people just went straight to, 'oh she's crazy' or 'how villainous' but... to answer your question, I guess I do need blood" her voice was loud as ever but her face was scarily blank. It made Tenko uncomfortable.
"Then shouldn't you be allowed to drink blood? Is that why you became a villain, because people didn't like you drank blood and they were scared of you?"
"Hmm, not exactly. More like, I got sick of society's version of normal. I like hanging out with the league, I like the taste of blood and the adrenaline I feel when on the run from heroes, and I like using my quirk to turn into the people I love. That's my normal. If other people can't accept that then fine, won't stop me from doing what I love" she said, grinning up at the wide eyed boy.
"... yeah, that makes sense" he said slowly before continuing to eat.
The two continued to eat in a comfortable silence.
"So what kind of sweets should we get? I saw a cotton candy stand around here, we could eat them while walking around"
"Uhm, yeah that sounds nice"
The blond groans "Come one mini boss, give me more than that! What do you want to try? Anything! Anything at all"
He hesitated "I- dango sounds nice... or mochi... Mr. Dabi bought them yesterday for us to eat and they tasted good"
"Hmm, great, so we'll get those, maybe we could try some brownies, red velvet cupcakes, OH macarons- I love macarons, they're decorated so cutely!"
Tenko nodded along as she started listing off more sweets he wasn't even sure was here. It's the amusement park after all. But he decided not to question it.
He let himself be brought to different stands, bags filling up with different sweets that made him drool. After almost an hour of none-stop walking, while also taking bites on his cotton candy stick, she took his hand and led him to a stand with a bunch of different hero plushies lined up.
"Let's play some games before we go eat again!" She said before handing the man in front some money and taking the toy gun given to her with confidence.
"Watch me win that All Might plushie over there for you Tenko!"
"Good luck!" he said while trying to give an encouraging smile.
He watched as she missed almost all her shots, only being able to hit the targeted plushie on it's arm, but it didn't drop. She groaned, before handing the man even more money. She kept going again, only to fail repeatedly, managing to win some other hero plushies but not the one she was hoping to get. There were people in a line waiting behind the duo, which made the boy nervous at their impatient looks.
"I think that should be enough, I really don't need that plushie anyways-" "NO! I am getting you that plushie no matter what!"
Tenko sighed, side glancing at the line behind him before deciding to just watch her continue to fail.
It took about 10 more tries before she finally managed to win the All Might plushie. She jumped in glee, Tenko only offering a small smile in return.
They finally left the stand, hands full of bags that contained both sweets and hero plushies.
"You can decorate your room with these plushies since your room is so plain! I'm sure older you won't mind" she giggled at the end.
By the time they sat down at a bench, it was around 4pm. Toga sat everything down before saying "I'll go get us some Takoyaki and drinks, we can eat these sweets when we get home and paint our nails! If big sis is there, we could ask her to join too- or Twice. Unless we could just have our own bonding time, if that's what you'd prefer" he nodded along, just replying with 'I don't mind other people coming'
He waiter for her to return, letting his gaze roam around the place. There were still families and couples around, laughing and smiling with one another. His heart clenched, missing his family. So far he liked it here, but here wasn't his home. He wanted to be with his mum, his sister, and Mon-chan. Dad- not so much though...
'At least I'm allowed to like heroes here. Dad would have been really angry if he saw me wearing an All Might t-shirt, or holding a hero plushie...'
He was snapped out of his thoughts once Toga came in to view, holding a small box and two drinks. She had a smile on while she walked over.
"Here you go!" she said as she plopped down next to him.
"Now we dig in! Make sure to blow it before you eat it because it's hot!" he nodded and did as she said, holding out the stick with balled meat stuck to it in front of his mouth. When he was sure it was warm enough for him to bite into, he took a large bite out of the meat. His eyes glimmered once he consumed the food, making a blissed noise at the taste.
"I know right! I literally love Takoyaki so much- seriously, it's amazing" her mouth was full of the meat, as she continued to gobble away with no shame at all. He nodded at her, agreeing that it was in fact delicious.
They spent that moment in silence, only interrupted when Toga hissed in pain, her tongue burned from eating her food too fast without blowing on it. Tenko laughed at the irony of her warning him not to get burned, which only earned him a pout from the girl. Although her eyes gleamed when she heard the sound come from him, feeling accomplished at being the first to make the younger boy laugh.
When they finished eating, they threw away their rubbish in a nearby bin, before Toga decided they should now head towards the Ferris wheel since it's finally the perfect time of day to see the sun set.
"You're going to love it, normally couples would go on these but that's weird cause' you're a kid and even if it was older you, you aren't my type and you're way older than me. We can go as partners in crime! Or siblings by choice- not blood" She said dramatically at the end.
"Siblings?"
"Yeah! Normally you're like the older brother but now the roles are switched and I'm the older sibling! So you have to listen to me okay!"
"Okay!" He said, more happy now. 'I have another sister now! I always wanted a brother though'
"Hey uhm, can Mr. Dabi be my older brother then? I always wanted a brother and since we all live together and stuff..." he said, eyes expectant.
"Hmm, yeah we can ask him! He's like an older brother to me too you know, he does my hair sometimes since I only know how to make my hair into buns but for some reason he knows how to do different hairstyles... probably has to do with his family although he doesn't talk about them much"
He visibly brightened, reminding himself to ask the man once they return in his head. 'He did say he had siblings too so that might be why he knows how to style hair'
"Oh, and drop the Mr. stuff, we don't do the formalities thing in the league, and since you are technically part of us it applies to you too"
"O-oh, okay"
They waited in line for a bit, before it was their turn and the two of them entered the capsule, sitting next to each other on the passenger seats. They were the only ones in the thing thankfully.
After the other groups of people got into their respective spots, them moving higher every time the ride moved, they had a view of the whole area. The 5 year old boys eyes gleamed in delight at the sight, Toga grinning from ear to ear next to him.
"Wow, we can see everything"
"Just wait till the sun sets, I still remember when I first came here and saw it. I also brought Twice along once, and Magne but the others said they were busy. And most of them don't like going out in public much, including Twice and Magne"
"Oh"
"You know you can talk more with me, I'm not going to bite you or anything- unless you let me of course" she grinned down at him teasingly
"Sorry, I'm just not used to talking with people much..."
"It's fine, I guess you and your counterpart actually do have something in common after all"
"What's c-counterpart mean?"
"... never mind" she chuckled a little to herself, forgetting that he was only a 5 year old.
Just in time, they noticed the sun beginning to set, Tenko's eyes glued onto the scene while Toga who've seen this many times before focused on his reaction. She smiled softly to herself at the his face which lit up in awe.
'The world really is shit for letting this kid become a villain'
"Toga! Toga! Look- it's so pretty! The sky is almost the same color as your hair!" She smiled widely when he faced her, nodding to him as he took on the role of rambling about how pretty everything was. It was a nice change.
When the day came to an end and they had to return back, bags in hand, both held relaxed expressions. Toga called for a taxi once again.
"Hey Toga"
"Hmm?"
"This was really fun... thank you for doing all this for me" he smiled shyly at her
"It's not the end of the day of course, we still have to try out the sweets and paint our nails! Plus it was really fun for me too!"
He blushed but scooted a little closer to her as they waited for their ride. He felt much more comfortable with the older girls presence now.
Returning to the bar only took around 10 minutes, the duo now standing outside the place. When they entered, there were the same people there in the morning, excluding Dabi must be out again or in his room. Twice was also absent surprisingly.
"Oh, hello Toga, Tenko, how was it spending time together?" Compress said as he noticed them enter, alongside Kurogiri who is as usual cleaning a bunch of cups.
"It was the best! We bought so many sweets and I won lots of hero plushies for Tenko, ain't that right mini boss" she nudged his shoulder
"Uh- yeah, she won me an All Might plushie that I really like... thanks again" he blushed a little, Toga only replying with a quick 'you're welcome'
Mr. Compress who wasn't currently wearing his mask, smiled in amusement.
"That's good to hear, so what will you be doing now Tenko? Kurogiri brought some of your old toys and video games back into your room that you don't use anymore if you'd like to play with them" Tenko was interested when they mentioned games, since he wasn't allowed to play much video games back home. His family was very strict when it came to electronics.
"Nope, he'll be painting his nails with me! Oh, and we'll leave some sweets here for you guys- where's Twice? Wanted to ask if he'd want to join us" she said, eyes scanning the place before zooming in on the black couch which held a figure with a blanket covering it's body.
"He fell asleep early, I suppose he was quite exhausted after going out to complete an... 'errand' earlier today" she nodded in understanding
"What about Spinner and Magne?"
"Both are still out, they texted me and said they'll be back early tomorrow morning. I believe they're with Giran"
"Aww, I guess it'll be just me and you Tenko... unless one of you two would like to join us? Although I don't think Kurogiri even has nails but we'll think of something"
"I'd have to decline the invitation, you see I have some business to attend to soon" she pouted but then looked towards Kurogiri with pleading eyes.
Said man paused, before replying "I suppose I won't mind"
Surprise shone on Compress's face but Toga didn't care and jumped up and down in excitement. "Yes! We get to spend time with Kurogiri, Tenko!"
Tenko cheered shyly with her, not as familiar with the other man.
"I guess I shall take my leave now, hope you three have a good night" Compress smiled and bowed before exiting the place. The others bid their goodbyes, not too loud as to not wake up the unconscious man not that far away.
"Okay, let's go to my room, I'll just leave some snacks over here for when Twice wakes up"
They made their way towards her room, Kurogiri and Tenko trailing behind her quietly as the girl hummed to herself.
"And, welcome to my humble abode!" she said jokingly as she flung open her door. The room in question was very colorful, walls decorated with different pictures of celebrities, some being of characters from shows. Her fairly large bed in the corner held many plushies, heart and star shaped along with pet themed ones. There was a desk off to the side, holding makeup materials and other objects.
"I don't think I've shown Kurogiri my room before so this is also a first time for you! Oh, and ignore that wall over there-" she pointed to the corner of the room which had pictures of brown and green haired teenagers, plus one of a scary looking man with a red scarf "That's for people I admire and love! The girl is Uraraka, the freckled boy is Izuku- and last but not least, Stain! He's so cool"
Kurogiri made no remarks or visible hints of his thoughts, Tenko deciding to just nod and not question it.
"Okay guys, sit down on the bed while I grab everything. You guys can start eating the sweets- oh right Kurogiri you don't really eat so... never mind"
She went over to her desk while Tenko and Kurogiri went to sit on the bed, which had enough space for all three of them.
"Okay, which colors would you guys want? Oh, we can't really do you Kurogiri but you can watch or just do my nails"
"I'm fine with watching, but if you insist I do not mind painting your nails" he said finally speaking up
Tenko found how formally he talked strange
"Great, okay I'll paint mine, hmm... mint green and... a baby blue color for my pinky and middle fingers" she grabbed said colors before asking Tenko "What would you like mini boss?"
He hesitated before saying "Uhm, red would be cool" she then asked if he'd like any other colors "uh, yellow? or blue?"
"Oh I see, we're making it All Might themed" she giggled as he tried to deny it
Kurogiri piped in "We could use all the requested colors by making the background red at the bottom and then fading into a sky blue, adding little yellow stars at the top"
The blond teen turned to him with stars in her eyes "YES, oh my god Kurogiri you should do his nails instead! You can do both our nails since you won't be having yours done and I don't know if I'll be able to make that! What do you think Tenko?"
"Yeah, that's sounds like it would look really cool" he smiled at the man, only earning a nod in return.
Time passed as they let the man made of mist do their nails, Toga joking around or complimenting his skills. The two ate the sweets while they let Kurogiri work, Tenko blinking in surprise at all the new flavors he has never tried before. By the end of the whole thing, with both of them now drying off their nails while Kurogiri sat to the side, Toga decided to ask Tenko which sweet he liked most.
"I guess I liked the ohagi the most"
"Oooo, people usually pick the more popular stuff but I guess you've always been different Tenko" he blushed in embarrassment
"Well at least I can now rest in peace knowing you now have a favorite sweet" she said quite dramatically as Tenko chuckled at her.
"Your older self also enjoyed ohagi quite a lot too. I believe he first tried the sweet when Giran came over to deliver information for sensei when you were twelve"
This surprised Toga who knew little of what her leader liked, but also the fact that Kurogiri knew Shigaraki since he was twelve or maybe even younger.
"Sensei?"
"Ah, yes you don't need to worry about him right now"
"Uhm okay" he cocked his head in confusion but once again shrugged it off.
"it's getting late, I believe you both should be heading to sleep now"
"Come on Kurogiri" the blond groaned "can't we stay a bit longer, you can tell me what it was like taking care of a younger Shigaraki!"
"No, both of you are too young and need the sleep"
"Aww, okay... can Tenko sleep in my room then?"
"That's up to him"
She turned to him with an excited grin "Tenko?"
"Uhmm"
"Please, it'll be sibling bonding"
"Uhh"
"We can stay up and tell each other scary stories!"
"No, you'll give the boy nightmares"
She groaned again "Kurogiri, stop being such a mom"
Something akin to annoyance flickered in the mans eyes, although they seem to lack any heat in them.
"Come on, it's so boring alone"
"Well I guess..."
"GREAT! Sleepover time" the girl fist bumped the air
"No yelling, it's late and you'll wake up everyone else"
"Okay mom".
Tenko laughed as she continued to get scolded only to try and sass the mist man back.
'I think I'll miss them when I go back' he thought to himself as watched the scene. The boy then out of the blue remember to ask the man what opinion means.
