Chapter 3: Anya distracts herself until her father comes back home. When he does, they both check up on Yor together and Anya learns something from Loid in the process...and Yor may have too. :3c

After the hour and a half that Anya spent tending to her mother, she did her usual activities for the remainder of the day. She did some small solo study sessions, watched some TV eating peanuts, drew some pictures, played in her room with her remaining plushies, and took small naps in the sunny spots of the apartment with Bond. There wasn't too much she could do with her father out, and her mother unable to leave. If Yor wasn't sick, she probably would've been babysat by Franky again while her parents were at work.

Even so, Anya was still happy. She didn't mind spending her day off like this at home helping her mother and playing with Bond. Every hour or so she would go to check in on Yor to see if she was still asleep (which she was) and to re-soak the washcloth once the coolness of it wore off. Every time she went into her mother's room, she'd put the medical mask back on as her father told her to. Then take it off once she left.

A little later in the day around 2pm, Anya's friend Becky stopped by to see if she wanted to hang out and possibly go on another shopping trip like she usually took her to on their days off school. Anya did want to, but she knew she had to continue watching her mother while she was unwell as she promised her father, and if Yor woke up to find Anya missing, she would most likely panic and go out looking for her, worsening her condition in the process. Anya sighed shaking her head and simply told Becky she couldn't because her mother was sick, and she had to watch over her. Becky was a little disappointed at first, but then she smiled admiring Anya for being so mature in looking after someone else before herself. After they both talked at the door for a bit, they parted ways with saying they'd see each other at school again tomorrow.

Anya walked back to where Bond was and laid on him once again.

"Bond, do you think Papa will be home soon? I'm so bored…"

Bond whined looking at Anya.

Both of them looked at the clock. Loid usually returned home around 4 or 5pm.

Anya put her finger to Bond's fur and twirled it around.

"I wonder if Papa is gonna do any spy missions tonight… Maybe he told his boss he couldn't do any today because of Mama…"

Bond wished he could show Anya the future, but even then, he wasn't really sure about it at the time.

Anya figured Loid couldn't leave her alone with Yor who was not able to do anything in her condition.

She yawned and closed her eyes as she began to drift off to sleep on Bond again.

"I hope Papa comes home soon…and Mama gets better…I wanna go out on…another ooting…"

Anya napped for the remaining hours until her father came back.

Due to having to stop at the store, Loid was understandably a little late coming back home. At exactly 6pm Loid opened the door to their home carrying a few small bags. Bond's ears perked and he started barking running over to greet his master, causing Anya to fall to the floor and be woken up unpleasantly.

"HUH!? Is it the end of the world?!" Anya instinctively responded feeling the mistake of an earthquake of Bond moving away from her. "Bond…? Where'd you go…?" she wiped her eyes.

"Anya, I'm home." Loid called as he walked in.

Her eyes were instantly shot awake. She ran over to her father at the door. "Papa!" Anya happily greeted him by clinging to his leg as she always did.

"Did you remember to study today?" he asked smiling at her and patting her head.

"Yep!" she responded.

Loid placed the bags down on the small counter by the sink. "How's Yor doing?"

"I took very good care of Mama! She's sleeping now!" Anya responded.

"Good. I hope you wore the mask when you did."

"I did! I was a very good doctor!"

"I'm sure you were. I'm going to go check on her then I'll make us all some dinner."

"I'm wanna come too!" Anya responded.

"Alright then, just wear the mask. I'll put one on as well. We have to make sure our family stays healthy so we can all work hard tomorrow." Loid responded.

First, he walked into his room first to get another one of his surgical masks. He came out wearing it as Anya waited for him.

"Yay! We're both doctors now Papa!" Anya reacted gleefully wearing her own mask.

Loid gave a genuine smile at his daughter. He was amused by her imagination; it almost made this family business thing worth it to him.

"Yes. We certainly are. Now. Let's go check on the patient." He responded showing a bit of a playful side. Anya may have been rubbing off on him.

Anya nodded happily as the both of them walked into Yor's darkened room.

"Yor? Are you awake?" Loid asked as he came into the room.

Yor stirred in her sleep and slowly opened her eyes.

"Mmm… Loid…?" she murmured. Loid turned the lights on in the room and walked over to her and kneeled down to her level.

"Yes, it's me." he said quietly incase she had a headache or migraine. "I'm home. How are you feeling?"

Yor tried to sit upright. It took her a few seconds, but she managed to do it. In doing so the washcloth fell off. Loid stood back up.

"Mmn… I think I feel a little better after sleeping." she responded wiping her eyes. Then she looked down. "Oh, whoops…there goes the cloth…" she was still half asleep.

"Hi Mama!" Anya said as she got on the bed.

"Hello Anya." she greeted her daughter with a gentle smile waking up a little more.

"All right. Let me check." Loid said as he placed his hand to Yor's forehead.

Yor closed her eyes as his cool hand touched her and was just relieved that he didn't do it the other way, otherwise her temperature would have definitely risen for a completely different reason.

"Still a bit warm, but better than this morning." Loid responded.

Yor smiled looking over to Anya.

"Its all thanks to Anya's care. She was such a big help." She said praising her daughter causing Anya's expression to brighten up.

"Yep! I was a very good doctor!" Anya said with both pride and happiness at her mother's praise.

"Yes. You were the best doctor I could ask for." Yor smiled petting Anya, causing the small girl to giggle in response.

"I'm happy to hear that." Loid said looking at his wife and daughter getting along. He was glad they were both able to bond over this. It made their forged family bond all the more believable.

"However, I'd like to check it in a bit more detail. Anya, where's the thermometer?" Loid asked.

"Over here!" Anya stated grabbing the glass thermometer on the desk beside the bed and handing it to her father.

"I see. Thank you." Loid said taking the glass thermometer from Anya and placing it in Yor's mouth.

"We're both your doctors now Mama!" Anya said looking at Loid insert the device in.

Yor softly giggled nodding at this as she couldn't respond with the thermometer in her mouth or it would fall out.

After about 15 seconds, Loid took it out and looked at it closely.

"What does it say, Papa?" Anya asked genuinely curious since she can't read it herself.

"It says it's about 100.1." Loid responded. "Which means the fever's not down yet, but it's getting close."

"Wow, how can you read it Papa?" Anya asked.

"If you want to know, look closely…" Loid said as Anya got closer to him.

"See the red line here?"

"Uh-huh."

"The red line ends where the number does…" he continued teaching her.

Yor smiled watching Loid teach Anya how to read the thermometer. He was such a doting father to her. What did she do to deserve being part of such a sweet family?

"See? That's how you read it." Loid said.

"Yeah! I get it now! The red line is at the 100!"

"Very good Anya." Loid praised. "That way, if this ever happens again, next time you'll know how to read it."

"Yeah! Then I'll be an even better doctor!" Anya responded cheerfully.

"You're already a wonderful doctor Anya." Yor responded before she turned her head to cough softly a few times. "…and I'm sure your father is very proud of you. I am too…" she then held her head a little bit groaning quietly.

Her husband observed her actions. "Hmm. Wait here for a moment." Loid left for a small moment to go grab something he bought at the store along with the medicine. He also bought a stick-on cold compress for fevers or headaches.

He came back with it, unwrapped it, and stuck it onto Yor's forehead. Yor was blushing the whole time due to Loid being so close to her. Her fever may as well have risen again.

"E-Eh…?" Yor responded still flustered and confused. Once she shook it off, she placed her hand on it curiously. "This is…?"

"It should help your headache." Loid said giving her a considerate smile.

"O-Oh…I see…um… Thank you, Loid..." she responded blushing again. "That's very kind of you…"

"Papa and Mama are flirting." Anya teased watching her parents.

"NO, WE ARE NOT!" Loid and Yor said in unison. This reaction was so funny to Anya every time.

Loid cleared his throat. "Anyway, all Yor needs is medicine, something to eat and a good night sleep. She should be better by morning if she does so."

Yor nodded. "I already feel much better now... Thank you, both of you."

"Do you think you're able to eat anything?" Loid asked.

"Yes. I think I can now." Yor responded.

"All right then. I'll make you some warm soup with some sliced apples on the side and some hot ginger tea." Loid said. "I bought all the ingredients I'll need for it."

"That sounds lovely… Thank you Loid." Yor said smiling at him.

"I wanna help too, Papa!" Anya said.

Loid smiled. "All right, but you need to do exactly as I say. We need to ensure the meal is safe for her to eat."

"Okay!" Anya cheerfully replied.

"And once she eats then she can take the medicine. Since it's a strong cold remedy, it will make her tired so she should sleep with no issue tonight."

Yor was relieved hearing this, she couldn't wait to get some good sleep tonight. Her cold had simply wore her out and she was dying for some more rest.

"We'll be back Mama!" Anya said as her and loid left.

"Yes. I'll be waiting for you." Yor replied.

They both left Yor alone and she placed her hand on the compress again, a soft blush on her cheeks.

Wow. That was so considerate of him to think of me like that, and get me this…

Yor ended up blushing hard and hiding her face and internally screaming.

She was an overheated mess for a different reason now. Thank God Anya wasn't reading her mind!

Chapter End: Oh Yor. Whatever could you possibly be thinking...? Hehe~ :3c
