Summary: Miyako wants to do something for Hikari. It's best to start at the beginning, right?
Miyako had never felt quite this comfortable with too many people. Most of the time she didn't even like being around a lot of people, since she spent most of her time at home with anywhere from one to five other people. She had enough of people.
But when she was with Hikari, it was entirely different. Hikari fit into a part of her that she'd not even known existed until it didn't anymore. Until their partners fused together to become something more. She wasn't sure how different Silphymon was from Hawkmon or Aquilamon, but Hikari didn't seem to think that it mattered a great deal. That was their partner, no matter what.
And that meant Hikari was her partner - her Jogress partner. A companion that was a friend, a friend that was a companion, someone who was her and not her all at the same time, and Miyako didn't even properly have the words to describe any of it, nor did she care.
I want to do something for her. It wasn't a need. She didn't think she needed to do anything other than be Hikari's friend. But they'd been friends for months now and the desire to do so hadn't been as strong as it was now.
It could have been any of the others. It could have been Takeru or Iori - though what that might have created, she had no idea. But she had Hikari and Hikari had her, and Miyako just wanted to do something to express how happy this made her.
Hikari was everything that she wasn't. Hikari knew how to be quiet when she needed to be. Hikari did things for other people as a matter of course. Miyako liked to bring gifts of food when they were getting ready to go to the Digital World, but it wasn't quite the same. Hikari just - did things. Miyako reasoned it out as best she could. She had to work at the store. Young Digimon were often hungry and needed food to be able to evolve. She had access to food. So, she brought food. Though her parents had been giving here looks lately. As long as she paid for it, they didn't ask questions, but she wondered…
Anyway, she couldn't decide what it was that she wanted to do with Hikari or for Hikari or whatever. What would Hikari like? They hadn't spent as much time with just the two of them as they did with the whole group. What could really say what she wanted to say? And what did she want to say in the first place?
What might Hikari want, anyway? Food wouldn't be right. Jewelry wasn't even possible. She wanted it absolutely be from her heart. So what would truly make Hikari happy?
She had no idea of how long she'd been thinking about it before something that might work occurred to her. Slowly she reached to her D-Terminal and typed a quick message to Hikari, biting her lip nervously as she sent it, then checking to see if she had the money to make this happen.
Just as she decided it could be done, the D-Terminal beeped and she checked the answer, half terrified that Hikari would have plans and half terrified that she wouldn't.
That sounds great! I'll see you there! Hikari's answer read and Miyako breathed a deep sigh of relief. It would just be a quick visit to a tea shop, one that one of Miyako's cousins ran, and they'd just talk to each other. It wasn't much but they could at least learn more about each other, so next time, she'd know something else to do.
Besides, the tea shop was one of the prettiest that she'd evewr seen, set in a beautiful neighborhood. Hikari liked taking pictures. She'd probably take a few there. That in and of itself would more than satisfy Miyako.
She ran a quick brush through her hair, nudged Poromon until he woke up, and set him in her bag. "We're going to meet Hikari and Tailmon," she reported as he yawned and tried to rub the sleep out of his eyes with one tiny wing. "And have some tea."
"That does sound like an interesting afternoon," Poromon agreed. "Let's go!"
Miyako grinned brilliantly. "You got it." She headed out of the room, humming under her breath, and looking forward to what the rest of the day would bring.
The End
Notes: I wish we had seen a lot more of how the Jogress partners interact. I am probably going to write a sequel on day five for the official Jogress prompt. But I also have always liked her friendship with Hikari and how the Jogress would affect it.
