Earth...Fire...Air...Water...When I was a boy, my Father, Avatar Aang, told me the story of how he and his friends heroically ended the Hundred Year War. Avatar Aang and Fire Lord Zuko transformed the Fire Nation Colonies into the United Republic of Nations. A society where Benders and Non-Benders from all over the world could live and thrive together in peace and harmony. They named the capital of this great land, Republic City. Avatar Aang accomplished many remarkable things in his life, but sadly, his time in this world came to an end. And, like the cycle of the seasons, the cycle of the Avatar began anew.

NO POV

Three men trudged through the barren snow of the South Pole. The cold was harsh, and they were covered by warm coats. The three men approached a hut, a large man was waiting for them, dressed in Southern Water Tribe robes, and holding a lantern. "The White Lotus has honoured my family by coming." The man, Tonraq, said. He bowed slightly, "Thank you." Tonraq opened the door to reveal his wife, Senna, sweeping the floor. She turned to the White Lotus members as they entered.

"Welcome." Senna greeted, bowing as well. She didn't notice the piece of artwork that fell from her wall.

"We have investigated many claims, both here and in the Northern Tribe." One White Lotus member, Porik, said, taking his hood off. "All have turned out to be false."

"Then you should be happy to know, your search has come to an end."

"What makes you so sure your daughter is the one?"

"Korra! Can you please come in here with Yunoh?" Senna called.

"Come on! Come on!" A tiny voice called. A dark-skinned, five-year-old girl was walking back into the room, tugging on the arm of a smaller girl with a similar skin tone.

"Korra!" The other girl complained. "Stop pulling my arm!"

"Show them! Show them!" Korra cheered, bouncing up and down. The other girl, Yunoh, rubbed her arm, pouting at Korra. Senna pulled Korra back and out of the way. Yunoh turned to the White Lotus members and bowed politely. She closed her eyes and took a deep breath. She slammed her foot into the ground, lifting a stone into the air, and with a punch, she sent it flying across the room. She jumped into the air and kicked, sending a wave of fire forward, which accidentally set fire to Porik's coat. Yunoh then twisted her hands, sending a tendril of water to extinguish it. She waved her hands once more and blew Porik's hair into crazy spikes. Yunoh stopped and took another deep breath. She bowed to the White Lotus members one last time, before straightening and breaking into a grin.

TIMESKIP - THIRTEEN YEARS LATER - YUNOH'S POV

Kick, jab, jump, duck. My body moved seamlessly with the forms as my mind raced to keep up with my opponents. I blasted one of my opponents back, causing him to fly up onto the roof of the gazebo my mentors were waiting from. Another got blasted into the snow, and I knocked the next one into the last person, knocking them both down. I turned to my masters and bowed. "Woooh!" Korra cheered, jumping from her spot waiting and running over to me. Even after thirteen years, she was my biggest supporter. Korra glomped me in a hug. She turned to my unimpressed Masters. "Hey, why all the doom and gloom people?" Korra questioned. "We should be celebrating!" Korra squeezed me tight. "Yunoh's got three elements down, she's only got one more to go!"

"You're getting ahead of yourself as usual, Korra." Master Ruji stated. "Besides, this is Yunoh's training, not yours. We haven't decided if she's passed her Firebending Test yet."

"Yunoh, ever since you were a little girl, you've excelled at the Physical side of Bending, but completely ignored the Spiritual side." Sir Porik said. "The Avatar must master both."

"I haven't ignored the Spiritual Side, Sir." I replied softly. "I do try and meditate to connect with the Spiritual aspect of Bending, but it just isn't coming as naturally as the other areas are. That's why I believe I should start to train with Tenzin as soon as I can. He's the closest person to the Spirit World out of anyone."

"Do you believe she's ready, Master Katara?"

"Yes." Katara replied. "If anyone can teach her what she needs to learn, it's Tenzin."

"Verry well, Yunoh, it's time for you to begin your Airbending training."

"Yes!" Korra cheered, "Finally!" I jabbed Krorra in the gut, causing her to groan in pain. I bowed to the Masters, closing my eyes as I did.

"Thank you all for believing in me." I said. Korra then grabbed my arm and pulled me away. "Hey!" I complained, running to keep up with her. "What have I said about dragging me around!" Korra ignored me and pulled me towards the stables where our Polar Bear Dogs were resting.

"Naga! Nuki! You should have seen it!" Korra opened the gate as our friends lifted their heads. Naga and Nuki were almost identical, the only difference between them was that Nuki had a large scar on her shoulder, from protecting me when we were kids. I pulled my arm out of Korra's and bounded over to Nuki. I wrapped my arms around her head. I could see her tail wagging like crazy.

"I managed to pass my Firebending Test!" I said. "Tenzin is gonna be coming in a few days, so you can see Oogie again!" Nuki's tail wagged faster.

TIMESKIP

I waited excitedly as I watched a Flying Bison descend into the compound. Instead of my normal training uniform, I was wearing my regular attire. Tight brown pants that were ticked into my brown snow boots, a blue dress like wrap that covered my chest and went down around to cover my hips. It was tight, but stretchy. The top was a sleeveless halter neck, fur lining my armholes. My hands and forearms were covered by dark blue fingerless gloves. I had fixed my hair from the fight, pulling it into a knot at the top of my head with two pieces hanging down the side of my face tied at the ends. A single strand of hair decided it didn't like to be difficult and fell in front of my face. I grabbed my fur-lined vest before exiting my room to watch as Tenzin helped his wife, Pema off Oogi. I smiled as Meelo raced up to me. "Yunoh!" He cheered. I opened my arms for the young Airbender, and spun him around. "Did you master it? Did you? Did you?" I set Meelo down and then knelt next to him. I opened my hand, and a flame in my open palm. "Woohhh…"

"Yunoh?" A voice called. I looked up and smiled at Tenzin. I stood and walked up to him. "Look at you, so big and strong, you've grown into quite the young Avatar."

"I'm so glad that you're here Master Tenzin." I said. "I can't wait to start my Airbending training."

"Yes, well…"

"You're going to have to tell her sooner or later." Pema stated.

"Tell me what?" I asked.

"You're not staying, are you?" Katara wondered.

"I'm afraid not." Tenzin confirmed. "We're only visiting for the night. Then, I have to return to Republic City."

"Oh…" I muttered.

"But you're supposed to move here." Korra said, stepping forward. "You're supposed to teach her."

"I'm truly sorry, Yunoh." Tenzin said, placing his on my shoulder. "Your Airbending Training is going to have to wait."

TIMESKIP

That night at dinner, we all sat around a table, and Korra brought up my training. Believe me, I was happy to not start my Airbending training, I wanted some time to myself. But, Korra wouldn't let it go. "So how long until you're ready to teach her Airbending?" Korra asked. "A week? A month?"

"It could be much longer." Tenzin said.

"I don't understand." Korra pressed. "Why are you making her wait?"

"I have a responsibility to Republic City. I'm one of it's leaders, and the situation there is very unstable right now."

"That's ok." I told him. "I understand you have a duty to Republic City, I can wait."

"But you also have a responsibility to tach Yunoh." Kora stated. "Believe me, I'd be happy to find my sister another Airbending Master, but you're the only one."

"I wish there were another way." Tenzin responded. I could see a lightbulb go off in Korra's head.

"Wait, there is! If you can't stay here, then we'll go back to Republic City with you. It's perfect!"

"Absolutely not!" Sir Porik argued, slamming his hands on the table. "The city is far too dangerous. Avatar Aang tasked us with keeping Yunoh safe while she mastered the four elements!"

"I get that, but I don't think keeping her locked up in this compound like a prisoner is what he had in mind." I clenched my fists. They were talking as if I weren't even here!

"I know this is difficult to accept, but it's not the best time for her to go to the city." Tenzin said.

"Can you all stop talking as if I'm not here!" I shouted. The table quieted. "Look, Korra, I know you want what's best for me but I don't need to learn Airbending right away. I'm fine with waiting. I've been training all my life and I think I deserve a little break."

"But…" Kora started.

"I'm not talking about this anymore." I stood from the table, bowed to my elders and then walked away.

TIMESKIP

The next morning, Katara and I saw Tenzin and his family off. "Goodbye Gran Gran!" Ikki called. "Goodbye Yunoh!"

"Oogi, yip yip." Tenzin said. Katara wiped her eyes as they flew off. I placed my hand on her shoulder for comfort. I retreated to my room after that, planning on taking a little time to myself. I was sitting on my bed, running my hands through the fur of my Polar Ferret, Saria. Saria's fur was white, with grey face markings and matching fur on her legs and tail. I had found her around the same time as Korra and I met Naga and Nuki, and we bonded instantly. Korra came into my room just under an hour later.

"You should come to Republic City with me." Korra said, closing my door.

"Why?" I asked her, closing the book I was reading. "You heard what Sir Porik and Tenzin said, the tensions in the City are at an all-time high, I wouldn't be doing any good if I went."

"You're the Avatar, Yunoh." Korra plopped herself on my bed. "You need to make decisions for yourself." I looked down. "As the Avatar, don't you need to be out protecting the people?" I nodded. "How can you do that while you're stuck here in the compound? How are you going to learn how to help if you're not there."

"I guess you have a point…" I trailed off.

"Look, you don't have to come if you don't want to." Korra put her hand on my shoulder. "I'll support you with whatever you do but...just think about it." Korra squeezed my shoulder before leaving. I frowned. Korra was right, but I didn't want to upset Tenzin or Sir Porik. I weighed my options. I lifted Saria to my eyeline. She chittered questioningly, tilting her head.

"Should I?" I asked her. "Should I stay here, wait who knows how long to begin my Airbending training. Or, I could go to Republic City, see where my help was needed, maybe have my training moved up and serve my duty as the Avatar." Saria chittered, placing her tiny paw on my nose. I knew what I had to do.

TIMESKIP

I opened Korra's door that night, Saria draped over my shoulders. Korra looked up at me. "I'm in." I stated. Korra grinned, jumped up.

"Alright!" She cheered. "Let's go!" Korra and I raced to the stables, hurrying to saddle up our Polar Bear Dogs. As I was closing the straps around Nuki's chest, a voice called out from behind me.

"Nice night for an escape, isn't it?" I flinched, turning around to see Katara. I set Saria on Nuki's head and walked up to Katara, my eyes downcast.

"I know it doesn't look all that good, but...I have to go." I told her. "I can't be the Avatar if I'm stuck here in the compound, I need to find my own path and destiny."

"I know you do. Aang's time has passed, my brother and many of my friends are gone. It's time for you and your generation to take on the responsibility of keeping peace and balance in the world." Katara stepped forward, cupping my cheek and tilting my head upward. "And I think you're going to be a great Avatar." I smiled at her.

"Thank you." Katara wrapped me in a hug, and I returned it happily. We separated from the hug and Katara turned to Korra.

"Now your sister may be the Avatar, but you keep a close eye on her alright?"

"I will." Korra promised.

"Goodbye Yunoh, Korra." After saddling Naga and Nuki with supplies, and making sure Saria was safe on Nuki's head, Korra and I used our Waterbending in tandem with my Earthbending to dig a tunnel underneath and out of the compound. We rode Naga and Nuki back to the Tribe, surprising our parents. They held us tight, not willing to let us go just yet.

"Mum, Dad, we'll miss you." Korra said, separating from our parents.

"We love you so much." Mum stated, holding on to me a little longer.

"We'll write to you." I added, pulling away from them. Korra and I mounted Naga and Nuki again and made it to the docks, stowing away on a cargo ship bound for the city. "Did we do the right thing?" I asked as we settled in for the night.

"You're the Avatar." Korra told me. "Your instincts are the best of the best, and I trust your decisions. Plus, you're my sister. I'll follow you through anything." I smiled at her.

"Thanks, Korra." I breathed, closing my eyes and curling into Nuki's side to preserve warmth. Saria settled in my lap, falling asleep.

TIMESKIP

The next morning, Korra shook me awake. "We're here Yunoh!" I blinked wearily.

"Wah…?" I trailed off. I rubbed my eyes as the cargo ship was filled with sunlight. Korra mounted Naga, causing me to swing my legs over Nuki and hold Saria close to my chest. We ran out of the cargo hold and onto the docks. "Thank you for the ride!" I called behind me as Korra and I left them. I couldn't contain my excitement and awe at Republic City. Large buildings made of not ice took over the landscape. Airships dominated the skies and there were so many people, dressed in all kinds of clothes, from the reds of the Fire Nation to the greens of the Earth Kingdom, and some were even dressed in blue, I didn't realise how diverse the city was.

"I've never seen so many Sato-Mobiles." Korra told me.

"I know!" I gasped. Korra and I then spotted a large statue on an island in the middle of the river. It was of Aang, looking over the city, protecting it. Just off to the side of Aang Memorial Island, was Air Temple Island. "There it is." I pointed out. "That's Air Temple Island, where Tenzin lives." Nuki then lifted her head and sniffed around. She took off into a sprint, booking it through the streets and ignoring the pedestrians. Naga pulled ahead and shoved her head into a food stand. Korra and I dismounted.

"We'll take two of everything please." Korra stated, inspecting one of the items as I came to stand beside her.

"That'll be forty Yuans." The woman said. I sighed, taking the food from Korra and putting it back.

"We don't have any money." I reminded her. I bowed to the lady. "I'm sorry." I grabbed Korra's arm. "Let's go."

TIMESKIP

We soon found ourselves at the park. Naga and Nuki had wrangled up some fish, and I had cooked it quickly. The park was nice, peaceful. I sighed, I could get used to this. "Hey." A voice spoke up. I looked over to see who I believe to be a homeless man stepping out of the bushes. "Think I can get one of them tasty-smelling fishes?" He asked.

"Sure, go ahead." I said. The man grabbed one and sat down, happily munching away.

"Do, do you live in that bush?" Korra asked.

"Yes, presently, that is what I do call home. Took me a while to procure a bush that beauteous. This park is quite popular with all the vagabonds."

"So there are a lot of you out here?"

"We always assumed that everyone in the city were living the high life." I admitted. The man laughed.

"You got a lot to learn, newcomers. Welcome to Republic City." A loud whistle cut through the air.

"Hey!" A voice shouted. Korra and I turned to see what I believe is a police officer glaring at us. "You can't fish here!" He started to run towards us.

"You best skedaddle." The homeless man hopped into the bush again. With a quick whistle of our own, Korra and I were on Naga and Nuki and booking it out of there. Saria was sitting on my neck, enjoying the sights. Korra and I soon arrived at a paved area where a man was speaking into a megaphone at the people passing by.

"Are you tired of living under the tyranny of benders?" He shouted. "Then join the Equalists! For too long, the Bending elite of this city have forced Non-Benders to live as lower-class citizens. Join Amon, and together, we will tear down the Bending Establishment."

"What are you talking about?" Korra demanded. "Bending is the coolest thing in the world!"

"Korra!" I hissed. "Don't get involved!"

"Oh yeah?" The man asked sarcastically. "Let me guess. You and your little friend are Benders."

"Yeah, we are." Korra replied.

"Then I bet you'd just love to knock me off this platform with some Waterbending, huh?"

"I'm seriously thinking about it."

"Korra!" I exclaimed. "Stop giving him fuel!"

"This is what's wrong with the city!" The man said to the crowd. "Benders like these girls only use their power to oppress us." All the people gathered started to agree.

"No no no no!" I waved my hands around to try and diffuse the situation. "Please, this is all just a misunderstanding, we're not trying to oppress anyone!" I grabbed Naga's reins from Korra and started to walk away, leading them both away. Korra and I dismounted some time later to give our friends some rest. We walked downtown and approached a lady sitting. "Excuse me, I'm sorry to bother you, but we're a bit lost, are you able to direct us to Air Temple Island?"

"Just head down this street." She said, pointing. We looked towards where she was pointing and saw a Sato-Mobile tearing into the street. "You two young ladies should get moving. It isn't safe." The woman, as well as the rest of the street, retreated into various stores. The Sato-Mobile stopped and three men got out.

"Mr Chung." The leader, dressed in Water Tribe clothes started. "Please tell me that you have my money. Or else I can't guarantee I can protect your fine establishment." The man next to him, dressed in red and black, lit a fire in his hand.

"I'm sorry." Mr Chung apologised. "Business has been slow. Please, take one of my phonographs." The Firebender used a flaming kick and smashed the phonograph the man was holding, sending it crashing to the ground. I grit my teeth, my fists clenching. I hate it when Benders use their abilities like this! No wonder those people at the park were so distrusting of us! I let Saria clamber onto Nuki's head.

"My friend here is not a music lover. Give me the money or else-"

"Or else what, you swine?" I spoke up, approaching the three. I glared at them. They laughed.

"Since you're obviously fresh off the boat, let me explain a couple of things. You're in Triple Threat Triad territory and we're about to put you in the hospital."

"I don't think so." I shed my vest. My muscles may not be as defined as Korra's, so I look pretty weak, and that's always my secret weapon. I slammed my fist into my open palm.

"Who do you think you are?"

"Come here and find out." I dropped into a fighting stance. The leader flipped his coat back to reveal a pouch of water. He took it and then shot it right towards me. I managed to catch it, swirling it around my body and using it as a whip to wrap around his leg. I tugged it out from under him, sending him into the pavement and then yanking him into his Sato-Mobile. The Earthbender started to charge, and with a simple stomp, he was sent flying backwards into a brick wall. The Firebender charged at me with two flaming fists, but I caught them and wrestled him down into submission. A tendril of water appeared from my side as Korra knocked him out of my grip and into the window of a shop. I gaped.

"Got any idea who she is now, chumps?" Korra asked.

"Korra!" I protested. "I was trying to do that with no property damage!" The Sato-Moble revved in front of us, holding the Waterbender and Earthbender. They picked up their friend and started to drive off.

"Oh, you're not getting away!" Korra shouted. She bent water from a nearby fountain towards the car speeding away. She waved her hands and created a sheet of ice right under the wheels, causing it to spin out of control and into a building. I cringed at the sound. I followed Korra as she raced towards the crash. Sirens wailed around us, and we looked up to see one of the Airships above us.

"Police!" A voice called down to us. "Freeze where you are!" A couple men jumped down from the ship and used metal cables to descend.

'Cool! Metalbenders!" Korra realised. They landed in front of us. "We caught the bad guys, officers." Kora said, gesturing to the three thugs that were swaying as they walked out of the store.

"Arrest them!" Three of the men shot their cables and tied the three up. "You're both under arrest too." My eyes widened.

"What do you mean we're under arrest? Those are the bad guys, over there! They were smashing up a shop!"

"From the looks of it, you smashed a lot more than that." The man shot his cables at us, and I reluctantly let myself be caught. Nuki snarled at him.

"Hey girl, shhh." I soothed, walking over to her. "It's ok, just calm down." Nuki reluctantly calmed down, bowing her head.

"Wait! You can't arrest us!" Korra protested, grabbing her cables before they could trap her. "Let me explain!"

"You can explain yourself all you like down at headquarters." Korra then decided to be an idiot and attack the policeman. That caused Naga to attack and Korra mounted her.

"Yunoh! Let's go!" She said, reaching a hand out to me.

"No, Korra, I'm not gonna try and escape police custody." I told her. "We may have caught the guys but we caused a lot of property damage, we have to answer for that."

"Fine then!" Korra shouted. She squeezed Naga's sides and they were off. The policemen followed her quickly. A couple grabbed me and the gang members they had apprehended, and started to lead us away. Nuki was wary of them.

"I'm sorry officers, but am I allowed to walk Nuki to the station?" I asked. "She's not very comfortable with many people, but she won't run away." The policemen looked at each other, shrugged, and helped me onto Nuki. Saria climbed up onto my shoulders and rubbed her head against my chin. "I'm good, Saria, just be good and stay on my shoulders, ok?" Saria chittered, settling down. "Ok, Nuki, just follow them." I said, nodding towards the policemen. Nuki barked in agreement and followed.

TIMESKIP

I was taken into an interrogation room made entirely of metal. I was told that Nuki and Saria were going to be taken care of while I was being talked to. Korra was wrestled into the seat next to me and I glared harshly at her as she too was cuffed to the table. "Thanks to you we might be serving jail time!" I snapped at her.

"Well, I'm sorry that we stopped some bad guys from taking advantage of that shopkeeper." Korra replied.

"Next time, do it without the property damage! I had it under control, ok?" The door opened behind us, and a woman stepped through. She had grey hair and pale green eyes. She wore different armour than the police officers that arrested us. Hers had gold lining, and her badge was gold as well.

"Let's see." She mused. "Multiple counts of destruction of private and city property, not to mention one of you evading arrest." The woman slammed her clipboard on the table, causing me to flinch. "You two young ladies are in a whole mess of trouble."

"But there were some thugs threatening a helpless shopkeeper and I-"

"Can it! You should have called the police and stayed out of the way."

"I'm sorry." I apologised, bowing my head. "But I couldn't stand by and watch someone be tormented like that. It's our first day here in the city and I know that's not a proper excuse, but we should have been more careful."

"It's her duty to help people." Korra argued. "See, my sister is the Avatar." Under the table, I kicked Korra's shin harshly. "Hey!" She complained, glaring at me. "What was that for!"

"Don't go using my title willy-nilly around the city!" I snapped. "Just because I'm the Avatar doesn't give us the right to do whatever we want! When we're in Republic City, we follow their laws. My title shouldn't just be who I am, I'm a person too."

"Oh, I am well aware of who your sister is, and she's right. The Avatar title might impress some people, but not me."

"Alright, fine. Then I want to talk to whoever's in charge."

"You're talking to her." The woman took a seat across from us. "I'm Chief Beifong."

"You're Lin Beifong?" I confirmed. "It's such an honour to meet you." I bowed my head.

"Why is she treating you like a criminal?" Korra demanded. "Weren't Avatar Aang and her mother friends?"

"Yeah, but just because I'm the Avatar doesn't mean that I'm instantly Tenzin's father, does it." I snapped at her. "Just because Avatar Aang was my past life doesn't give me any special privileges."

"And it's got diddly squat to do with the mess you're in right now." Lin agreed. "Yunoh is right, you can't just waltz in and dole out vigilante justice like you own the place." A slat opened to the side of us and an officer poked his head through.

"Cheif, Councilman Tenzin is here." He stated.

"Let him in." Lin sighed as she stood. The door opened to reveal Tenzin. He looked very angry. I ducked my head in shame.

"Tenzin…" Korra trailed off. "Sorry, we got a little sidetracked on our way to see you." Tenzin took a deep breath before turning to Lin.

"Lin, you are looking radiant as usual." He commented.

"Cut the garbage, Tenzin." Lin snapped. "Why are the Avatar and her sister in Republic City? I thought you were supposed to be moving down to the South Pole to train her."

"My relocation has been delayed. The Avatar, on the other hand, will be heading back to the South Pole immediately, where she will stay put." I hunched in on myself, ashamed. "If you would be so kind as to drop the charges against Yunoh and Korra, I will take full responsibility for today's regrettable events and cover all the damages." I looked up as Lin glanced back at Korra and I. She sighed.

"Fine." She said, waving her hand and unlocking the cuffs around our wrists. "Get them out of my city."I rubbed my wrists as I stood.

"Always a pleasure, Lin. Yunoh, Korra, let's go." I followed Korra out of the room. I looked back and saw Lin giving her the 'I got my eye on you' look to the both of us. I nodded while Korra decided to give her a snobby one back. I glared at her, yanking Korra's arm to pull her along. Tenzin lead us to the Animal Holding facility within the station.

"Tenzin, please, don't send us back home." Kora pleaded.

"You blatantly disobeyed my wishes and the orders of the White Lotus." Tenzin said.

"Katara agreed with us that we should come. She said that Yunoh's destiny is in Republic City."

"Technically she didn't say those words specifically." I pointed out. "I said that I had to find my destiny and then she told us that it was our generation's turn to keep the peace."

"Don't bring my mother into this!" Tenzin said.

"Listen, Tenzin, I know what I said, but, going around Republic City opened my eyes. I need to continue my training to help people. Staying in the South Pole isn't going to do anything to help me improve on being the Avatar."

"We saw a lot of the city today." Korra added, "And it's totally out of whack."

"The reason you need to stay now is so clear. The City needs you, but I do too, and the City needs me as well." Tenzin stammered, trying to come up with an argument.

"Are these your Polar Bear Dogs and Polar Ferret?" Someone called. We looked over to see Naga, Nuki and Saria. Naga licked the man's head, while Nuki whined, her paws nervously shifting as she wanted to get closer to me. Saria was chittering silently on Nuki's head.

TIMESKIP

On the ship back to Air Temple Island, I gazed at the city. Tenzin isn't going to let me stay, no way at all. We docked soon after, and Korra and I saw the White Lotus members waiting for us. I sighed, taking Nuki's reins and starting to approach them. I was stopped however, by two air gliders landing in front of me, depositing Tenzin's children. "Yunoh! Korra!" They cheered. Meelo lept into me, and I laughed, holding him tight. Ikki wrapped her arms around Korra. Jinora hugged the two of us just as Ikki started talking.

"Are you coming to live with us on the Island?" She asked.

"No, we're not." I apologised, turning to her. "I'm sorry kids. We have to go back to the South Pole."

"Aww!" The trio complained. I set Meelo down, and grabbed Nuki's reins again. Korra and I approached the White Lotus members when Tenzin stopped us.

"Wait." He called. I turned to him. "I have done my best to guide Republic City towards the dream my father had for it. But you are right."

"I am?" I asked.

"It has fallen out of balance since he passed. I thought I should put off your training in order to uphold his legacy, but you are his legacy. You may stay and train Airbending here with me, and of course, Korra can stay as well." I grinned. "Republic City needs it's Avatar once again."

"Thank you!" I cheered, wrapping Tezin in a hug.

"Yay!" Tenzin's kids cheered. I grinned down at them.

"Last one to the dinner table loses dessert!" I shouted, starting to run. The kids let out simultaneous laughs, giggles and shrieks, hopping on their Air Scooters and following.

TIMESKIP

The next morning, a Press Conference was held to announce to the city that I was now in the city. Cameras were going off like crazy, with Tenzin, Korra and Lin behind me for support. Nuki was sitting next to me as well, with Saria on her shoulder. I took a deep breath and turned to the microphones. "Good morning Republic City." I greeted. "My name is Yunoh, and I am your new Avatar."

"Does this mean you've moved to Republic City?" A reporter asked.

"Were you trying to send a message to the Triad's yesterday?"

"Will you be fighting crime, or the Anti-Bending Revolution, or both?"

"Will you be working with Chief Beifong and the Police?" I cleared my throat.

"Yes, I have moved to Republic City for the time being. No, I was not trying to send a message to the Triads yesterday. I doubt I'll be fighting crime, and I don't know much of this Anti-Bending Revolution to make a judgement call on that front, and if Chief Beifong will allow me, I may help her in the near future." I answered, making sure I was clear. "Avatar Aang's dream for this city was to be a centre for all people to live together, regardless of what nation they hail from or if they are benders are not. This City is a testament to prove to the world that we can live in peace and harmony together. I understand that the city itself isn't perfect, however, we are still moving towards that dream, and my hope is to make it a reality. I look forward to serving you as your Avatar." I bowed as the crowds cheered.
