This is kind of a trailer for a much longer story. I have written many versions of this story, and I think it's going to be ready soon to put out there. I own nothing but the idea, the OCs, and perhaps the ship. (Y'all are going to have to wait for the full story to find out who I shipped with who) I've watched a few episodes from each season up until season 6 of VLD, so I'm a little rusty on the character personalities, so don't expect them to be straight out of the cannon. So, sit back, relax, and enjoy this trailer.
Keith blew out the air of lungs, filled them again, then emptied them. He repeated this process several times, bouncing lightly on the balls of his feet, trying not to let the thoughts of the past few days interfere with what he had to think about in a few minutes. He gripped his daggers tighter; settling them more securely over his knuckles, and made sure the leather parts of his armor didn't bunch up when it would count. Krolia watched from the shadows as he walked to the bottom of a flight of stairs. She went up to him as he was about to step up. She rested a hand on his shoulder.
"Remember, Keith. No matter what, I will always be proud of you. No matter what decisionyou make, whether you think it is right for yourself, the universe, or just one other person, I will stand by you." Krolia said. Keith looked into his mother's face and saw the raw pride and truth in her words. He smiled a little.
"Thanks, mom." He said in a small, slightly croaky voice.
The sounds of the crowd were made more audible when the door at the top of the stairs creaked open. Keith nodded to his mother, then bounced a few times in place, amping himself up as music began to play. He ran up the stairs and into The Arena. The cheering of the crowd exploded as Keith threw his hands into the air, a big smile on his face as he circled around, basking in the noise and light. He had to admit, it did have a certain appeal to be cheered on like this.
Keith looked across The Arena at his opponent. Curtis was strong, fast, and could read Keith's mind to a degree. In short, this was going to be a good fight. Keith sank into his battle pose, Curtis doing the same. There was a hush as everyone waited for the bell to sound. And when it did, Keith smiled.
