I Don't own White Knight Chronicles or Creed
Hello, My Yulie We Meet Again
A cool yet warmed morning dawned the kingdom of Balandor. Home of the crowned Queen Cisna III and her husband (And personal knight) King Leonard. Since the fall of the tyrant Madoras, as well as his horrid empire. The moment the mad immortal and his disturbed legacy where both droved back to the ashes of the Dogma war from where they belonged. The world was able to move on from the scars of the left by the mistakes of the Yshrenian and the Athwan Empires.
Now, the world could repair the rift brought on by the two empires. Healing the and breaking down the walls of ignorance and blood which was born from the wretched war. Allowing the new leaders such as Cisna, Miu, Creaser and everyone else who wanted to make a golden age for themselves and their loved ones.
Now, one such moment would be dawning on a certain couple in the kingdom of Balandor. Dragon, the avatar knight. The red-haired teen silently looked through the stained-glass man-sized window of his given room.
The avatar knight was doing his best to calmly admire the sun rise of this spring day. Seeing the ghostly sun light pass through the kingdom which had become such an important gem to himself and his friends in the past three years. Seeing the market trade prepare their stalls for the sale of the day. Seeing the guild members gathering for their next mission. Seeing, the two wine merchants going to Parma for new stock.
The last one made the young one smile.
So much had changed in the last three years. Cisna and Miu had made general peace accords between their nations. At long last Faria and Balandor could be called friends. A personal miracle in Dragon's eyes. King Valtos XI and Archduke Dalam would have been so proud of them. The two queens had honoured them incredibly.
Creaser had wed Kara the last year, well wedded it her after one hell of a hangover from his stag due. Dragon chuckled, when the announcement was made, and they journeyed to Greede for a holiday. The new duke may be remembered as a hero, but he would be also remembered for creating a beer fest beyond mortal measure. The entire city all three levels were filled with drunken slobs and happy memories of life.
Though seeing Kara's face at the Altair as he and Leonard man handled the young lord into the church. To say the least it was not a pretty sight or rather a sight which made Dragon feel a few rounds with the Sun King would have been a gentler experience then than being at the opposite end of Kara's fury. Still thankfully the two married and with Caesar's new maturity and Kara's determination, their union would made Greede on a new path of amazingness.
That was the tale of Dragon's friends offshore. For the friends still in his area. Well, it had been pretty much a happy ending for everyone else. Leonard married Cisna and had been crowned a new king of Balandor. While true Cisna was the one in charge Leonard to his credit maned up as husband and monarch. Getting more involved, understanding what needed to be done to improve the kingdom. Yet when he had a moment to go out hunting or revisit their old shop. The wine clerk Dragon met those years ago would pop out. Dragon liked being with the Leonard who had been the wine clerk, but he respected the Leonard who grew alongside the White Knight. The boy really was a king. Yet, it was not due to a crown rather a white gauntlet which got him to this point.
Eldore, after decades of loyalty and fighting two generations of the same war. The mentor and arguably leader of their group finally could enter his days of rest. Eldore made peace with the fact he could never return to the past, his home. This future and reality were to be his life now. Dragon remembered the explanation the young old man gave. Dragon also remembered the smile on his face as he did. For the first time Eldore was truly free to live his life. While he would still be a loyal servant to them all. He just wanted to enjoy whatever time he had left in peace, seeing one better day after the other. He was given a small patch of land near the Greydall Plains. Not to mention one the best estates ever built.
For Cyrus, the knight. No that's not right the son of Valtos. Like Eldore he decided to semi retire from the army. Unlike Eldore though Cyrus decided to still live in Balandor, while he left the life of the soldier behind. He embraced the life of a councillor and ambassador. Far better and kinder than that backstabber Ledom ever could have been. Thanks to him more lands and civilizations had been discovered and brought into a fray. Some good, some bad regardless Cyrus had kept a good balance for the last two years.
There even had been a few rumours flying around court that Cyrus and Miu had been having private dinners during his trips to Faria. Though Dragon was never one for Gossip.
Then there was Yulie.
Dragon grimaced for a moment as he closed his eyes. Before opening them again to look more the mossy dawn before him. While he had explained one way or another the epilogues of most of his friends. When it came to Yulie. The lavender archer he met in the Parma, the girl who was known to be an equal of the fronts of bossiness and true kindness, the pact maker of the moon maiden.
The girl he had fallen for.
This motherly sun cradling her child Balandor. The today before the young swordsman was not crafted for him. It had been forged for her. His dearly beloved. It had been one long road for the pair of them. Traveling various lands and countries, discovering the five knights. (Yulie, would correct a person and state six for Dragon's sake. No matter if it embarrassed him.) Fighting enemies such as Ledom, Madoras, Shapur, Grazel and other nightmares. Even time traveling at some points.
Dragon had an adventure beyond fantasy and imagination. Even by this worlds standard. None the less all those experiences felt quite trivial compared to Yulie.
Yulie, the maiden of Parma. The first day Dragon saw her. Seeing how her short hair flew freely in sync with her skirt. Her curious smoothed face, her demanding arms as she placed them on her hips. The one aspect Dragon would always treasure from her appearance. Her green eyes. Yulie was a beautiful, cute girl. Anyone who would pass her could see one aspect they could be attracted to whether it be her figure or choice of cloths. (Though maybe Dragon was being a tad bias to his girlfriend. The again did he really care if he was?)
Those emerald eyes, the shade of green which embalmed out of them. They reminded Dragon, well of a dragon. For standard Dragon's they would have been born with average green scales. A Dragon's scale is meant to be a series of small shields for the creatures. They are meant to protect them. When Dragon, looked into Yulie's eyes. He felt a certain feeling of tranquillity he never had before. Never imagined he desired before.
Growing up, Dragon didn't have the best of childhoods. Life in the Flandar Trail's was a daily care. You never knew if you would bump in a giant lizard and be its dinner. It provoked Dragon to learn some basic sword skill, though it had improved when he joined Leonard and the others. Having to survive daily. Throughout most of Dragon's life the one constant friend he had was fear and insecurity.
The fear, born that this was his life. A strange awkward orphan who failed at anything he attempted to start. His old room was filled with failed projects, drawings, writing, alternative weaponry. The room of his childhood had been a small cell of the failures of his youth.
The insecurity, that one. It was worse than the fear. The fear made his old home a prison. His insecurity had made his existence into a prison. The lack of attempting the new, the awkwardness denying your expansion. The voice dictating on why he was lonely, unloved and probably would never see any resolution out of the rut of a lifestyle he had created for himself. From his stupidity.
One night, before the reawakening of Wizel. Dragon just got this itch in his back. A nightmare of an old man staying in his room replaying the same patchiness over and over. Never accomplishing anything. Nothing to show for the life he was given. It struck his heart and mind. Hence when he saw the pamphlet for being a wine clerk he applied without question. True a weak job with a weaker pay. Yet a chance to possibly breck free from his prison.
When he came to Balandor he didn't know what to make of anything. Not just his new work and the kingdom, or even the adventure he would undertake. A small boy from a wasteland in a metropolis like this, but the first time he saw her eyes. Dragon didn't know if he could even breath, he didn't know if he could even move. Again. Those eyes. They had just rewritten his life all over again. All he wanted was her, that he knew all he needed was just her, every other accomplishment big or small would just have been a tad bonus compared to her. Those eyes where the scales that taught him how to live the years ahead, not to spend the time he had waiting to die.
Looking back, Dragon had achieved his fair share of accomplishments like his friends. True not as grand compared to Leonard's and the rest of the gang, but for what he did he was happy. He became a better sword fighter, he developed a family, he gained Valtos the Avatar Knight. All because he said yes on a pamphlet.
"Knock knock." Came to distract him from his mindset.
"Who is it?" Dragon asked taking his eyes off the window.
A small serving girl entered his room with some small green fabrics. "Its almost time sir."
Dragon smiled gently at the young lady with a small nod. "I guess, its time to give her this day."
It took a few minutes for Dragon to change out his nightwear, into what was his wedding attire. He was a long green coat with gold and white linings. Stealth like black trousers which had silver linings and some brown boots. A tiny emerald ball was hung around his neck.
Dragon gasped slightly looking at this reflection seeing his current wear. He could almost pass off as Caesar's brother in this gear. Then again. It was from the said man himself. Dragon sighed amusingly, Due to the new mining season Ceaser and Kara couldn't be here today. None the less the Greede Lord wanted to his part for his friend and tailored his outfit.
A new knock came at the door. "Who is it?" Dragon asked once more. Perhaps the serving girl wanted a tip.
"Robert Baratheon." A sly voice came out. Dragon turned to his shock to see Leonard waiting near the door. The former wine clerk was wearing long black royal attire embroiled with red linings and jewels, A golden crown laid was rested on his head with five white gems embodied into it. Not to mention the small beard he is growing.
Dragon looked from his entered king back to the mirror. "Could be worse."
"Hey, it's a good book." Leonard defended. The king walked to Dragon's side peering over his shoulder as they both looked at the mirror. "So, you're really going to do this." There was no malice in Leonard's voice. Rather a sense of naturality
"Yeah," Dragon answered back "You know, a lot of me is telling this a bad idea, that I am making a dumb mistake."
"In over your head, might as well keep the divorce papers ready to sign. Yeah, you're going to feel like that. Which voice do you hear the most?" Leonard asked.
"The one that tells me to shut up and do it." Dragon answered back.
Leonard chuckled "Look guy, Yulie she probably is feeling the same way as we speak. Its jitters we all of them."
Dragon just stared at the reflections "Have you seen her?"
"Yeah, she looks amazing."
"She always did Leonard."
"Yeah…I know." Leonard replied sadly.
Dragon turned to see his friend "You, okay?"
"Dragon, could you do me a promise. Not as your king. Just as your friend?"
"Sure, what is it?" Dragon asked with a little more concern.
"Treat her better, just treat her better. Looking back, at her crush. I….I should have."
Dragon stopped the king as he calmly held his hand. "Leonard, she is happy for you. Whatever happened… its in the past. She wants you to be happy. You want her to be happy. That's what will always make you two connected. Please never dwell on a mistake. You made the most of your time to fix it. That's what is important. That's what will make her smile."
Leonard stopped his mopping. Feeling guilty he got depressed on his friend's day. He smiled and patted Dragon "You know, for guy who didn't talk a lot you sure knew the right things to say."
"You know, I got that from you." Dragon smiled sadly.
"I'm just glad Valtos went to good hands. You made a great knight with him. For her" The two boys heard ringing from the bells. "Its time Dragon, you ready."
The Balandor throne room
The throne room had been decorated with lunar drop like flowers, banners and carpets coloured and laid out like the milki way. Ornaments shaped like the moon were placed on the walls yet had been painted sea water colour. Lavender arrows where next to each seat as if they pointing to the Altair
Dragon Waited near the Altair with Cisna in her beautiful red gown and golden crown waiting her with the groom. Dragon breathed in. Only a few seconds before his destiny, his wishes where about to come true. During their journeys when he and Yulie had a moment together, big or small this scenario would play out. Just a passing daydream.
Now this dream was real, looking around some people he knew some came for favours for the Queen. Dragon didn't mind. All he could think about was when he proposed to her. They had just come from a date in the town. They had come near the waterway where Yulie had a breck down during their second year. This time however, she didn't feel the same sadness as she once did. Since they had gotten together, the pain she felt for Leonard not returning her feelings seemed to have settled. She no longer was clinging for something that many people knew was not going to happen.
The moon that evening, it was so beautiful. A stripe of stars crossed through it. That evening, when she clasped his hands. The warmth and understanding he felt from the hold. Trust, hope, resolution, believe, strength…. love. Dragon felt that from her. Felt she was giving him those feelings.
With one kiss, they both knew. They were now forever one. One knight.
"Dragon," The Queen whispered to the avatar knight. Dragon turned around, once he had done so. His mind was nowhere near to being prepared for the sight before him. Yulie, his Yulie. A girl from Parma. Now looked more like Princess then the one he had to save.
Her hair had grown longer to shoulder length, her lips had been painted with blue lipstick, her dress was white like snow, but allowed her arms to be shown. The bottom the dress had red roses knitted in. While a real red rose placed on her right ear. A small see-through veil had been placed on her head to Finnish it all off.
A small tear fell down Dragon's eye. He didn't know, or perhaps he didn't want to know why. Since he met her, he knew Yulie, was a princess. Seeing her now, she couldn't have been more the Moon Maiden if she tried to be. It was like the Goddess herself carved her body. As child reading those children books about those beautiful princess characters. He never came looking for one, but the cool thing was he did.
Yulie, walked slowly through the guests being escorted by Leonard. True Eldore might be the better choice, but she personally requested Leonard. Not as a form of revenge or anything nasty like that no. She wanted a person she loved giving her away to the one she gave her heart too.
Finally, she came to her Altair. As Leonard went to sit down next to Eldore as the mentor pattered the young king with respect. Cisna as Queen she had the right to proceed with the services. "Three years, ago a lot of lives changed. People changed. Our world changed thanks to six knights."
Dragon could see Yulie smirk to the Queen. "Our Kingdom, our people have grown. Many have cursed the Knights for decades due to the scars of the Dogma Wars. However, for myself, the day the White Knight awakened. Was the day many of us found each other."
"True, we have had our bumps, our pains. The White Knight Chronicles shall always leave a division amongst many. Even out future generations will wonder if it was worth it." Cisna asked as she looked a painting of her farther in the distance.
"One chronicle I am glad was written is the one I see before me. Two knights who started on a journey, never expecting to be more than two wine clerks. Are now two people who redeemed their time." Cisna finished looking at her husband with fondness.
"Dragon, please." Cisna motioned to Yulie's veil. Dragon moved his hands ever so slowly, feeling tingles coursing through them. Treating the small piece of cloth like glass. He only had one shot to get this right.
Once he lifted the cloth off, he could see Yulie's green eyes. The scales which had shielded him all this time. The friend he always wanted to me again. Dragon remembered from the last weddings he attended that some words had to be exchanged. For the life of him, even though he had months to create a speech nothing could been created. Everything that he wrote down felt wrong, un right.
"I…" Dragon was about to say but was stopped as Yulie pressed her finger on his mouth.
"It's okay." Dragon looked at her surprised "Its okay, I didn't need any fancy words like that. I ain't that kind of girl." She took her finger of Dragon's mouth "I'm the kind of girl who…..who." Yulie jokingly pondered "Who wakes up, who gets up. Goes out of her house to see everything around her. Who gets bossy to do her job, who is willing to admit she fears spiders, who is willing to walk around the planet just to get a save a princess, who gets into fights with immortal tyrants, who is ready to get ten times higher from a magic world. I am good with that." Yulie admitted.
"I'm the girl who just wanted to share it with someone." Yulie placed a hand on Dragon's cheek "I don't know what our marriage will be like. What I do know is you're the type of guy who will do his best to not let a girl like me down."
With that Yulie slowly pushed her mouth into Dragons. The couple spent the final moments of the ceremony in a loving embrace, allowing to their mouths to do the rest of the vows for them. For now, He was her Avatar Knight, and she was his Moon Maiden. It was a chronicle which could always be written or even re written. For now in this world the White Knight had allowed this moment to happen in his story.
