It was Halloween. And Marcie was walking with a basket of apples. Marcie was dressed as Igor. She arrived at Peppermint Patty's door, and knocked on it. Peppermint Patty answered it. She was dressed as a professor.

"Ah, Igor Marcie! What a wonderful surprise!" Peppermint Patty said.

"I've brought the apples." Said Marcie.

"How many apples did you bring, Igor Marcie?" asked Peppermint Patty.

"Just enough for the guests to bob for." Marcie answered.

Marcie walked into Peppermint Patty's house, and placed the apple basket onto the bench.

"You count all the apples, and I'll get a pool to put them in." Peppermint Patty told her bespectacled friend.

"Anything you say, Sir." Replied Marcie.

"Ahem!" Peppermint Patty cleared her throat.

"I mean…. Profess Sir." Marcie corrected herself.

"That's more like it."

Over at the Van Pelt residence, Linus, like he does every Halloween, was writing a letter.

He wrote:

Dearest Great Pumpkin…..

But his writing was soon interrupted by Lucy, who walked in.

"Good grief!" groaned Lucy. "My stupid brother writing to the Great Pumpkin again?"

"Don't you understand, Lucy?" smiled Linus. "Every Halloween night, the Great Pumpkin rises out of the Pumpkin Patch with his bag of toys for all the children around the world."

"Come on, Linus!" huffed Lucy. "I want you to stop believing in this Great Pumpkin!"

"The day that'll happen is the day you stop believing in the man who wears red, has white facial hair, and laughs Ho, ho, ho!." Linus retorted.

As Linus said this and got back to writing to the Great Pumpkin, the door was heard.

"I'll get it." Lucy said as she walked over to the door, and at the door, much to her anger, was…..

"Oh, good grief!" Lucy sighed. "Linus! It's the girl you're the sweet babboo of!"

"I am NOT Sally's sweet babboo!" Linus called.

"Sally?! I'm talking about Janice!" Lucy retorted.

"Well, bring her in!" Linus called back

Linus got back to writing to the Great Pumpkin while Janice walked in.

"Hello, Linus." Smiled Janice.

"Janice! What a lovely surprise!" Said Linus.

"What are you writing, Linus?" asked Janice.

"I'm writing a letter to the Great Pumpkin." Linus explained.

"Er, what's the Great Pumpkin?" asked Janice.

"A large pumpkin who rises out of the Pumpkin Patch every Halloween with his bag of toys, and delivers toys to fortunate children around the world." Linus explained.

"Delivering toys? Sounds like a man with white facial hair who wears a red suit and delivers toys at Christmas time." Giggled Janice.

"The problem is, Janice," Linus said sadly. "while people believe in that guy, they don't believe in the Great Pumpkin."

Meanwhile, at the Brown residence, Sally was up in her room, deciding what to wear.

"Now, what can I wear tonight?" Sally pondered.

While Sally decided on what to wear, Charlie Brown was in the kitchen, preparing Snoopy's meal. Then, the telephone rang.

"I'll get it." Charlie Brown said as he walked over to the telephone and picked it up.

"Hello?" Charlie Brown said.

"Hiya, Chuck! Have you heard?" said Peppermint Patty.

"If it's about the Great Pumpkin, then it's a fake." Replied Charlie Brown.

"No, Chuck!" chuckled Peppermint Patty. "Igor Marcie and I are throwing a Halloween party at my place. When you're done with your trick or treating, you and all the others can come over to my place. How does that sound?"

"Well, that sounds okay, I guess." Charlie Brown said simply.

"Great!" exclaimed Peppermint Patty. Well, gotta get on with the final preparations, Chuck. Bye!"

As Peppermint Patty hung up, Charlie Brown heard a knock on the door.

"Now who could that be?" Charlie Brown pondered as he answered the door, and much to Charlie Brown's surprise…

"Heather?"

"Hi, Charlie Brown!" said Heather. "Have you heard?"

"Heard what?" asked Charlie Brown.

"Peppermint Patty is throwing a Halloween party at her place." Said Heather.

"I know. She just phoned to tell me." Charlie Brown replied.

"That means that once we've done trick or treating, we can go over." Heather said.

"That's exactly what she suggested to me!" Charlie Brown said.

"Great! Well, see you tonight, Charlie Brown!" said Heather as she walked back home to decide what to wear for Halloween night, while Charlie Brown went back to the kitchen to prepare Snoopy's dog food. He was suddenly interrupted by Sally.

"Who was at the door, Big Brother?" asked Sally.

"It was Heather." Said Charlie Brown. "She told me something Peppermint Patty already told me."

"What's that?" asked Sally.

"Peppermint Patty's throwing a party at her place, and we can go there when we've done trick or treating." Said Charlie Brown.

"Well, I'd best go back to my room, Big Brother." Said Sally. "Still haven't decided what to wear tonight."

While Charlie Brown wasn't pleased that Snoopy needed another helping of food, he was pleased this would be the first time he'd be going trick or treating with the girl of his dreams.

Back with Marcie and Peppermint Patty, Peppermint Patty brought in a pool of water for all the apples to float in.

"Okay, Igor Marcie! Just get the apples ready!" called Peppermint Patty.

"They've been ready for a long time, Profess Sir." Said Marcie.

"What do you mean ready?" pondered Peppermint Patty as she walked over to the bench, and much to her shock…

"IGOR MARCIE! YOU CHOPPED UP THE APPLES! AAUGH!"

Peppermint Patty's yell was enough to send Marcie flying onto the ground.

"Oh! Weren't the apples supposed to be chopped up, Profess Sir?" asked Marcie.

"Oh, good grief no!" groaned Peppermint Patty.

"Then, I'll get some more apples, Profess Sir." Said Marcie.

"We'll go together, Igor Marcie." Peppermint Patty decided. "Take me to where you got the apples."

"Yes, Sir!" Marcie said.

"Ahem? What was that?" asked Peppermint Patty.

"Yes, Profess Sir!" Marcie said.

"That's better!" Peppermint Patty smiled.

On their way to get more apples, Peppermint Patty and Marcie, the latter of whom was carrying her basket, ran into Violet and the other Patty, who were throwing the same party at Violet's house. Violet was dressed as a queen, in a gold queen's crown and a violet queen's cape, while Patty was dressed as a princess in an orange gown and an orange hennin.

"Violet! Patty! What are you doing out?" asked Peppermint Patty.

"We're going to find some pumpkins for our Halloween Party." Violet explained.

"And we're not inviting Charlie Brown!" chuckled Patty Swanson.

"Chuck won't mind." Smirked Peppermint Patty. "He's coming to our party anyway."

"But our party will be much cooler." Boasted Violet. "More games, and even ghost stories!"

"Our Halloween party will have that stuff too!" said Peppermint Patty.

"I don't mean to interrupt you, Violet," said Marcie.

"Ahem?" Violet cleared her throat.

"I mean… Queen Violet." Said Marcie.

"That's better!" smirked Violet.

"But… what do you mean you won't invite Charles?" asked Marcie.

"We don't like him." Violet replied.

"That's not a nice thing to say, especially with what Charles has done!" Marcie demanded.

"Yeah! Be a dull wishy-washy failure face!" laughed Patty Swanson.

"That's not a nice thing to say either, Sir!" Marcie called out.

"Excuse me?!" asked Patty Swanson.

"I mean….. Princess Sir." Said Marcie.

"Now what did I tell you about calling me 'Sir'?" asked Patty Swanson.

"It's not right to call a girl Sir. Sorry, Ma'am." Said Marcie.

"Ahem?" Patty Swanson added.

"Princess Ma'am." Marcie said.

"That's better." Smiled Patty Swanson.

"Come on, Profess Sir. Let's get some more fresh apples." Marcie said.

"What a fun coincidence! That's where we're going!" called Violet.

"And we're going to get more apples than you!" Patty Swanson boasted.

"Good grief!" sighed Peppermint Patty.

Unbeknownst to Peppermint Patty or Marcie, Snoopy snuck into Peppermint Patty's house to see the party they'd prepared. Snoopy walked over to the bench and noticed the apples that Marcie had chopped up. He was thinking about what to do with them.

"Ah!"

Snoopy had an idea. He got out some flour and some lard, and started making pastry.

With the Van Pelts again, whilst Linus was writing to the Great Pumpkin, Janice gave him some advice.

"If you really think this Great Pumpkin will come this Halloween, you ought to draw some Jack o' Lanterns on the card." Suggested Janice.

Linus was about to do so when an unexpected visitor arrived. This visitor was none other than Sally.

"What's going on here?!" Sally exclaimed.

"Sally? What are you doing here?!" exclaimed Janice.

"Come to check on Linus." Sally answered.

"Oh no!" groaned Linus.

"Ooh! Is Janice helping my boyfriend write a letter to the Great Pumpkin?" asked Sally sweetly.

"I am NOT your boyfriend!" growled Linus.

"Yes you are!" Sally said angrily.

"No he's not!" Janice put in.

"Oh, good grief! Not this again!" Linus sighed.

At the orchard, Marcie and Peppermint Patty noticed there were numerous apples still up in the tree.

"Say, Igor Marcie. How did you get these apples?" asked Peppermint Patty.

"I attempted kicking the football again, Profess Sir." Marcie answered.

"Football? What football?" asked Peppermint Patty.

Marcie looked around for the football she kicked earlier. She found it near a tree that was stripped bare.

"This one, Profess Sir." Marcie said.

"Great! Let me try!" said Peppermint Patty.

Marcie picked up the football and handed it to Peppermint Patty.

"Kick the ball, Profess Sir." Marcie said.

Peppermint Patty dropped the ball, and then kicked it. Upon kicking with her left foot, her sandal flew off her foot.

"Look what happened, Igor Marcie! I kicked the ball, and my sandal came off!" Peppermint Patty pointed out.

"Try again, Profess Sir!" called Marcie.

"There'll be no need for that, Igor Marcie! Look!" called Peppermint Patty, pointing to the tree the football ended up in.

Peppermint Patty had kicked the ball so hard, the tree it hit was stripped bare of apples.

"A fantastic job you did, Sir!" cheered Marcie.

"Igor Marcie…" sighed Peppermint Patty.

"I mean Profess Sir." Marcie said.

Marcie walked over to the tree, and picked up all the apples she could pick up. Every apple she picked up she placed into the basket.

"Come on, Profess Sir. Let's bring these to your house." Marcie said.

When Marcie and Peppermint Patty got home, they were most surprised to see…..

"Wha?! What happened to all the other apples, Igor Marcie?" asked Peppermint Patty.

"I don't know, Profess Sir." Said Marcie.

The two girls looked around and noticed…..

"Snoopy!" cried Peppermint Patty.

There was Snoopy, making pastry.

"And look where the apples are, Igor Marcie!" Peppermint Patty added.

"Wow! Snoopy's using them! But for what?" pondered Marcie.

Snoopy placed his front paws forward, telling Marcie that what he was preparing was confidential.

"Oh. Snoopy wants it to be a surprise." Said Marcie.

"Anyway, Marcie. Since you failed to place the apples in the pool, I'll do it myself." Peppermint Patty decided.

"If you say so, Profess Sir." Said Marcie.

Back at the Browns' place, Charlie Brown was in his room, deciding what to wear for Halloween.

"A ghost? Hmmm…. No. I don't wanna get rocks again. A carrot? If Heather's going as a rabbit….. Heather!"

Charlie Brown walked across the road to see Heather, and ask her what she's going as. Charlie Brown was rather hesitant.

"No, Charlie Brown! You know she appreciates you! Do it!"

Charlie Brown simply rang the doorbell of the Wold residence. And who should open it but….

"Heather!" Charlie Brown called.

"Hello, Charlie Brown! Fancy seeing you come over!" said Heather.

"What are you going as tonight, Heather?" asked Charlie Brown.

"Oh, I won't tell you what I'm going as, but I'll tell you what to come as." Heather said.

"What?" asked Charlie Brown.

Heather walked over to Charlie Brown and whispered into his ear.

"Er….. I don't know, Heather." Charlie Brown said doubtfully.

"Oh, Charlie Brown! Surely you can trust a Little Red-Haired Girl like me." smiled Heather.

"Alright, Heather. I'll trust you on this." Said Charlie Brown. "And don't call me Shirley."

"Shirley?!" pondered Heather.

Charlie Brown went home, and into the backyard. He was waiting for Snoopy to come home.

"Huh. Where's Snoopy? Snoopy!" Charlie Brown called.

At this point, Snoopy came home, and noticed Charlie Brown.

"There you are, Snoopy!" said Charlie Brown. "Can you pick out a Halloween Costume for me please, Snoopy?"

Snoopy stood there, crossed his front legs, and nodded.

"Great! I want you to dress me as….."

Charlie Brown whispered to Snoopy what Heather wanted him to go as. Snoopy agreed to do just that. He went into his doghouse to prepare the costume.

"I hope Snoopy knows what he's doing." Charlie Brown said to himself.

Snoopy came back out, and dressed Charlie Brown as….

"A banana? I didn't say a banana, Snoopy!"

Snoopy tried again. This time, he dressed Charlie Brown as….

"A carrot? Good grief! Not this again, Snoopy!"

Snoopy tried to remember what Charlie Brown whispered to him. Then, he dressed Charlie Brown as…

"A flower! She wants me to go as a flower, but now I'll be the laughing stock of the neighbourhood like I always am!" sighed Charlie Brown.

Snoopy just snickered at the idea of Charlie Brown dressed as a flower with yellow petals.

"Now why would Heather want me to go as a flower?"

Later that afternoon, Marcie was at the Pumpkin Patch looking for a pumpkin.

"Professor Peppermint Patty wanted me to find the right sized pumpkin for the party." She said to herself.

Marcie looked around for a pumpkin, and upon finding one the same size as Snoopy…..

"No. Too small." Marcie said.

Marcie then found a pumpkin bigger than her.

"Good grief, that's a big one!" Marcie exclaimed as she lifted the pumpkin with all her might and went back to Peppermint Patty's place.

"I got the pumpkin you wanted, Profess Sir!" said Marcie.

"Great! Put it in the kitchen. Snoopy will deal with it." Peppermint Patty said.

Just after Marcie had left the Pumpkin Patch, Linus arrived with his letter to the Great Pumpkin. He sat on a pumpkin, patiently waiting for the Great Pumpkin to arrive.

"I hope you rise this year, Great Pumpkin! I believe in you!" begged Linus.

Linus then heard a sound of foot steps walking his way.

"Is that the Great Pumpkin at long last? Oh, Great Pumpkin!" called Linus.

"Yoohoo, Linus! Your sweet babboo!" Janice called out.

"Oh, good grief!" Linus sighed.

It wasn't the Great Pumpkin coming Linus' way. It was Janice.

"Hi, Janice." Said Linus.

"Er, Linus? What's wrong?" asked Janice. "Usually, you're happy to see me."

"Sorry, Janice." Said Linus. "It's just that…. every Halloween, I expect the Great Pumpkin to rise out of the Pumpkin Patch."

"That's why I'm here, Linus." Said Janice. "To wait for the Great Pumpkin with you."

"Wow! Talk about a change of pace!" exclaimed Linus.

Linus was surprised. Normally it was Sally who would wait for the Great Pumpkin with him, but for once, it was Janice waiting with him.

Later, Charlie Brown, as a flower, walked into the living room where Sally was waiting, dressed in a blue blanket.

"Sally? Oh, don't tell me you're going as a blanket this year!" sighed Charlie Brown.

"Oh, Big Brother. If I want my sweet babboo to like me again, I have no choice to go as a blanket." Sally explained.

"But he says he's not your sweet babboo." Said Charlie Brown. "And besides, he's at the Pumpkin Patch again, waiting for the so-called Great Pumpkin."

"Oh, I know just how to grab his attention this time!" smirked Sally.

"Good grief!" sighed Charlie Brown.

Over at Schroeder's house, Schroeder, dressed as Ludwig von Beethoven, had packed his piano to play music over at Peppermint Patty's house once he'd done trick or treating. He also picked up a bag of Halloween treats.

"I just hope Lucy's not out their waiting for me." Schroeder thought.

As Schroeder exited his house, there, much to his dismay, was Lucy, dressed as a queen.

"Oh, Schroeder!" Lucy called.

"Oh, good grief!" sighed Schroeder.

"Who are you going as? George Washington?" Lucy asked.

Schroeder, hearing Lucy's question, winced with anger.

"If you must know, I'm going as the one, the only, Ludwig von Beethoven." Schroeder explained.

"Oh. That explains the wig, Schroeder." Said Lucy.

"Ahem?" Schroeder cleared his throat.

"I mean… Ludwig von Schroeder." Sighed Lucy.

"That's more like it, Lucy." Smiled Schroeder.

"Excuse me?" asked Lucy.

"I mean….. Queen Lucy." Sighed Schroeder.

"That's better." Smirked Lucy.

When Charlie Brown left his house with a bag, there, walking out in front, were Violet and Patty, carrying a basket of apples. Upon seeing Charlie Brown, they couldn't help but laugh.

"Look, Patty!" Violet called.

"Excuse me?" Patty Swanson replied.

"I mean….. Princess Patty." Violet corrected herself.

"That's more like it, Queen Violet." Smiled Patty Swanson.

"Look! It's Flower Face Charlie Brown! I knew he was a failure face, but I never thought he'd be as wishy-washy as a flower!" chuckled Violet.

"Oh, Charlie Brown! We're throwing a Halloween Party, and you're not invited!" smirked Patty Swanson.

"I don't mind. I'm going to Peppermint Patty's house later." Charlie Brown replied.

"So….. you're not upset we're not inviting you?" Violet said in bemusement.

"No." Charlie Brown answered simply.

"Okay. But you know what you're missing out on." Violet scoffed.

And Violet and Patty, disappointed by Charlie Brown accepting them not inviting him, walked back to the Gray residence.

Charlie Brown walked across the road to the Wold place. He waited for Heather to come outside. And much to his surprise, out came Heather, carrying a bag. She had turquoise butterfly wings, and had replaced her hairbow with an antenna headband. Upon seeing Charlie Brown, Heather giggled.

"Heather?! You're… You're….." Charlie Brown stammered.

"I'm what?" asked Heather.

"Beautiful!" Charlie Brown exclaimed.

"Oh. Thanks, Charlie Brown." Smiled Heather.

"Is this why you wanted me to go as a flower?" asked Charlie Brown.

"Butterflies loves flowers, Charlie Brown." Said Heather.

"I don't believe it! The Little Red-Haired Girl…." Charlie Brown began.

"Excuse me?" asked Heather.

"I mean… the Little Red-Haired Butterfly, appreciates my costume!" Charlie Brown corrected.

"That's more like it! Anyway, Charlie Brown. Let's go." Heather decided.

"Yes, Heather." Said Charlie Brown.

Following behind Charlie Brown and Heather, were Pig-Pen dressed as a fox covered in dust, Franklin dressed as a vampire bat, and Frieda dressed as a pumpkin witch.

"Oh! Hi, Pig-Pen! Hi, Frieda! Hi, Franklin!" Heather called out.

"Hey, Heather! Hey, Charlie Brown!" Franklin called back.

"Franklin! Pig-Pen! Frieda!" Charlie Brown exclaimed.

"We've got the word from Peppermint Patty. Once we're done trick or treating, we can go to her place." Franklin explained.

"Can you tell what I'm going as?" Asked Pig-Pen slyly.

"By the looks of it, Pig-Pen." Said Charlie Brown. "You're going as a fox."

"Not just any fox, Charlie Brown. An arctic fox." Pig-Pen answered.

"Good grief!" sighed Charlie Brown, knowing that arctic foxes are white and not brown.

"And I'm going as a pumpkin witch." Frieda bragged. "Ever seen a witch with naturally curly hair before?"

"O…..kay." Heather said. "Anyway, let's go trick or treating, guys! Hope to get some candy."

Sally didn't follow behind her big brother or his friends. Because she knew Linus would be at the Pumpkin Patch, she went over.

"What's that noise, Linus?" Janice gasped.

"Could it be? Could it be the Great Pumpkin?" Linus cried.

Janice looked around and noticed a blue blanket walking towards them.

"Look, Linus! It's your blanket!" called Janice.

"My blanket? Oh, don't be ridiculous, Janice!" Linus said sternly.

"Oh, Linus! Your sweet babboo is here!" Sally called out.

"Oh no!" groaned Linus, not liking it when Sally showed affection towards him.

Then, Sally pulled the blue blanket off.

"Hey! What's going on here?!" Sally shouted, sending Linus and Janice flipping up.

"Janice! What are you doing at this patch with my sweet babboo?" Sally demanded.

"I'm waiting for the Great Pumpkin with Linus." Said Janice. "And he's not your sweet babboo!"

"He is too!"

"I am not!" Linus interrupted. "And by the way, Sally. Is that my blanket you're wearing?"

"No. It's just an old sheet I dyed blue to resemble yours." Sally smiled.

But this didn't go without another sound.

"Oh! Is that the Great Pumpkin?" Linus gasped.

It wasn't the Great Pumpkin at all. It was Snoopy. He rose out of the pumpkin, saw Sally with a blue sheet, and thinking it was Linus' blanket, Snoopy got on all fours and grabbed the sheet with his mouth with Sally still holding onto it.

"Whoa! Hey!" Sally shouted.

Snoopy ran round the Pumpkin Patch dragging the sheet along with him while Sally still held on.

"Sally! Snoopy!" cried Linus as he grabbed Sally's right hand with both his hands, while Janice grabbed Linus' left leg with both her hands. Snoopy was dragging the sheet and all three Peanuts with him. Sally, seeing Linus holding her right hand, just blushed.

"Aw! My sweet babboo is holding my hand!" swooned Sally.

Linus was going to tell Sally off when he noticed Janice holding onto his leg.

"Janice? Grab my hand, Janice!" Linus called out.

Linus took his right hand off Sally, and reached out for Janice's hands. Janice reached out with her left hand and held on. Janice looked at Linus adoringly.

"Aw, my boyfriend!" Janice swooned.

Linus looked at Janice holding his hand, and blushed.

Snoopy continued to drag the sheet along the neighbourhood and as Janice saw her house, she let go of Linus and she got on her feet, and into her house to look for a Halloween costume.

"What to wear for Halloween? Hmm….."

Janice walked to her room to find what she should wear trick or treating.

"Of course! I know what to go as!" Janice decided.

Snoopy passed the Van Pelt place, and Linus let go of Sally. Then, he walked into his house to find a costume.

"I'll wait for the Great Pumpkin later. I could do some trick or treating." Linus said.

The last stop for Snoopy was the Brown place. Snoopy spun his head, tossing Sally off. That was when Sally landed on her back on top of Snoopy's doghouse.

"Good grief! Maybe going as Linus' security blanket wasn't a good idea." Sally said to herself. Then she had an idea.

"Oh! I know! Snoopy!"

Snoopy walked up to Sally and Sally whispered into his ear what to dress her up as.

The first place Charlie Brown, Heather, Frieda, Franklin and Pig-Pen stopped at was the Swanson place. There, standing at the door, was Patty's mother.

"Trick or Treat!" The five Lil Folks called.

Patty's mother tossed some things into each bag. After they received what they got, Charlie Brown was dismayed by what he'd gotten.

"Good grief! I got a rock!" Charlie Brown sighed. "I always get rocks!"

The next place they stopped at was the Armstrong place.

"Hold it! This is my house." Franklin exclaimed. "I'm staying out of this."

Franklin decided to leave Charlie Brown, Heather, Frieda and Pig-Pen to get treats from his folks. There, standing at the door, was Franklin's mother.

"Trick or Treat!" Charlie Brown called.

Mrs. Armstrong tossed some stuff into each bag. This dismayed Charlie Brown even more.

"I got some dirt." Sighed Charlie Brown.

The five Peanuts continued their trick or treat journey. Charlie Brown felt down in the dumps.

"It's one thing to give me rocks, but dirt?" muttered Charlie Brown.

"Come on, Charlie Brown." Smiled Heather. "It's not so bad! Remember what you are."

The five Peanuts came across another place. This was the Rich place. Frieda, knowing this was her house, decided to stay out of it.

"I'm staying out of this, otherwise, my parents will damage my naturally curly hair." Frieda said to herself.

"Trick or treat!" Heather called.

Mrs. Rich tossed some more stuff into their bags. Charlie Brown looked in and…..

"A bottle of water? Really?" Charlie Brown sighed.

"Oh, Charlie Brown!" smiled Heather. "Look on the bright side! Flowers love water, dirt and rocks. It helps them to grow. I know just what you can do with your rocks and dirt. But water, well, you know what you do with water."

Meanwhile, over at the Gray place, Violet and Patty had finally prepared their party.

"Your party looks so cool, Violet!" Patty said.

"Totally, Patty!" Violet replied.

Then, they heard a knock on the door.

"Oh good grief! Who could that be?" groaned Violet.

Mrs. Gray opened the door and were surprised to see Charlie Brown, Heather, Frieda, Pig-Pen and Franklin.

"Trick….." Heather began before being interrupted by Violet's mother. And then, she shut the door.

"Good grief!" sighed Charlie Brown. Then he thought for a moment.

"Yes! I know what to do with this dirt and rock! Stand back, everyone!"

Charlie Brown poured some water onto the dirt to turn it into mud, soaked the rock in the mud, and then threw the rock through the open window.

"Alright! What was that?" shouted Violet as she looked at the mud-covered rock.

"AAUGH! Charlie BROWN!"

"Good grief! It's Violet! Let's get out of here!" Charlie Brown cried as he, Heather, Frieda, Pig-Pen and Franklin ran away.

"You wait until we get you, Charlie Brown!" Violet shouted.

Meanwhile, Linus, dressed as a Jack o' Lantern, waited outside the Emmons place for Janice. And out came Janice, wearing a white dress, a white bow in her hair, and a pair of angel wings.

"Janice!" cried Linus. "Oh good grief! Her cancer must have returned and now she's an angel!"

"Fear not, Linus! It's just a costume!" smiled Janice.

"Oh. Janice. You had me scared for a bit. But still, you make a wonderful angel." Linus said.

"Thanks, Linus. Now, let's get us some candy!"

Snoopy had finally dressed Sally up. She was going out as a witch.

Sally: Ha ha ha! Once I find my sweet babboo, I will put a spell on him and make him say that he is my sweet babboo!

Sally went inside to collect a bag to store her confectionery in and set out. All Snoopy had left to do was dress up. He dressed himself up as a pirate. Then, flying towards him, was Woodstock. Snoopy looked at Woodstock and knew just what to dress him as. Snoopy went into his doghouse and got out a little costume for Woodstock. Remembering that Charlie Brown said Woodstock isn't a parrot, Snoopy dressed Woodstock as a parrot, knowing that pirates traditionally have parrots on their shoulders.

"Arrr!" Snoopy growled.

Once their trick or treating was over, Charlie Brown, Frieda, Pig-Pen, Franklin and Heather walked over to the Reichardt place for the party. They knocked on the door and…..

"Hiya, guys! Hey, Chuck!" Peppermint Patty called out.

"Good grief, here it comes." Sighed Charlie Brown.

"You look cute in that costume, Chuck!" Peppermint Patty smiled.

"Really?" smiled Charlie Brown.

"Of course!" replied Peppermint Patty. "And the Little Red-Haired Girl!"

"Ahem?" Heather cleared her throat.

"I mean…. Little Red-Haired Butterfly." Sighed Peppermint Patty.

"That's better." Smirked Heather.

"Come on in! The party's ready!" Peppermint Patty told them.

"Great!" cheered Heather.

"Plenty of games for all!" added Marcie.

"Leave your bags." Peppermint Patty told them.

As Charlie Brown, Heather, Franklin, Frieda and Pig-Pen put their bags down, and just as they went in, Snoopy arrived with Woodstock on his shoulders.

"Hiya, Snoop! Nice parrot!" called Peppermint Patty.

Woodstock wanted to show his anger towards Peppermint Patty for thinking he's a parrot, but Snoopy silenced him.

"This funny looking pirate has a big nose. Come on in, Snoop."

Soon, all the guests arrived, including Shermy, who'd come as a Dracula, Eudora, who'd come as a fairy, and even Sally, Linus, and Janice.

"There's somebody missing." Said Peppermint Patty.

The door was knocked on, and Marcie answered it.

"Schroeder!" exclaimed Marcie.

"That's Ludwig von Schroeder to you, Igor Marcie." Smiled Schroeder.

"Okay, Ludwig. And Lucy."

"That's Queen Lucy to you." Lucy bragged.

"All hail Queen Lucy." Said Marcie.

"Come on in, Ludwig von Beethoven and Queen Lucy!" Peppermint Patty called.

While Schroeder and Lucy went in, Heather, who had plenty of confectionery in her bag, snuck half of hers into Charlie Brown's bag.

"There. Now Charlie Brown has candy." Heather said to herself.

"Arf!" Snoopy called out. He walked over to the oven and took out of the oven…..

"Ooh!" called Peppermint Patty. "Do you smell that, Igor Marcie?"

"I smell it too, Profess Sir!" said Marcie.

"Follow your nose, Igor Marcie!" called Peppermint Patty as she and Marcie saw that Snoopy had made…..

"I don't believe it!" cried Marcie.

"Apple pies!" added Peppermint Patty.

"You see, Profess Sir." Said Marcie. "Those chopped up apples proved to be useful after all."

"Who wants apple pies?" Peppermint Patty asked.

"I do!" cried Linus.

"Me too!" added Janice.

Everyone each got an apple pie. All except for Charlie Brown.

"Oh good grief! I missed out again!" sighed Charlie Brown sadly.

Then, a knock on the door was heard. Peppermint Patty answered it, and standing at the door were…..

"Violet and Patty? What….." exclaimed Peppermint Patty.

"Where's Charlie Brown?" demanded Violet.

"We want a word with him!" Patty added.

"Oh good grief!" sighed Peppermint Patty. "Chuck! I think you're in trouble!"

Violet and Patty walked over to Charlie Brown…

"Violet? Patty?" Charlie Brown was in for it now.

"That's Queen Violet to you, Charlie!" demanded Violet.

"And Princess Patty!" added Patty.

"Er….." Charlie Brown stammered.

"We saw the mud rock you threw into my house and…" Violet started.

"And?" Charlie Brown stammered.

"That was a clever trick, you played on us, Charlie!" Violet said.

"Really?" Charlie Brown was surprised. He didn't expect a compliment from Violet.

"Yes! Flowers like water, dirt and rocks." Patty explained.

"Hold on! Hold on! What's going on here?" Lucy demanded.

"It was lonely at my house." Violet explained.

"Nobody even came." Patty added.

"You will have even more fun here, Violet and Patty." Lucy smiled.

"Excuse me, Lucy?" Violet demanded.

"That's Queen Lucy to you, Queen Violet." Lucy smirked.

"Good grief! Another queen!" sighed Violet.

At last, it was game time.

"Alright! Let's bob for apples! Me first!" Violet said as she walked over to the pool of apples, and got ready to dunk her head in. As soon as she picked up an apple, holding onto the other end of the apple was Captain Snoopy, with his teeth. Violet was shocked to see….

"Blegh! Poison dog lips!" Violet exclaimed as ran off, with her lips covered in poison. Everyone laughed at what Violet had experienced. All except Lucy, who'd been through the same thing one Halloween.

"Huh?!" Snoopy looked puzzled.

Schroeder went over to his piano, and started to play some music, but in the style of an organ to help bring the spooky atmosphere. Monster Mash. This got everyone dancing. Violet returned from the kitchen after washing her mouth.

"That taught me a lesson." Sighed Violet. "Oh well. Might as well join in the fun."

Violet walked to the dance floor and danced with the rest of the gang.

Once the party was over, Charlie Brown went to pick up his confectionery bag and much to his surprise…

"Good grief! My bag has candy in it! Sally!" Charlie Brown exclaimed.

"Oh, that was me, Big Brother." Smiled Sally innocently.

"Sally? Did you cast a magic spell to make more candy appear?

"Er…"

"Actually, that was me, Charlie Brown." Said Heather.

"Heather?" Charlie Brown said.

Heather walked over to Charlie Brown, and explained.

"You went through this just for me?" Charlie Brown said.

"I saw you were disappointed, Charlie Brown, so I gave half of my candy to you." Heather finished.

"Oh, Heather! Thank you! But I still didn't get an apple pie." Sighed Charlie Brown.

"Oh, I don't know about that!" Smirked Heather.

"Wha?!"

Heather pulled out of her wings an apple pie.

"I got two apple pies. One for me, one for you." Smiled Heather.

"Why, Heather! You…. you shouldn't have!" Charlie Brown cried.

"The Little Red-Haired Girl…." Sally started.

"Ahem?" Heather cleared her throat.

"I mean… The Little Red-Haired Butterfly has done it again!" Sally corrected herself.

"That's more like it." Smirked Heather. "Er, Charlie Brown. Since this pie is cold, how about I take it to my house and heat it up for you."

"Would you?" Charlie Brown cried.

So Charlie Brown and Heather walked home together. Upon their departure, Sally saw Linus and Janice walking out.

"Say, Janice. While it's still Halloween, wanna come to the Pumpkin Patch and wait for the Great Pumpkin?" asked Linus.

"Would I?" Janice said eagerly.

"Ooh! Can I come with?" asked Sally sweetly.

"Sure, Sally. Anything's better than not believing in the Great Pumpkin." Linus answered.

"Yay! My sweet babboo is inviting me with him!" cheered Sally.

"And I'm not your sweet babboo!" demanded Linus.

Later, at the Brown residence, Charlie Brown sat in his yellow beanbag watching a horror movie while waiting for his apple pie to be reheated. He then heard a knock on the door. Charlie Brown walked over to the door, and saw….

"Heather!" Charlie Brown exclaimed.

"Hi, Charlie Brown! He's your apple pie." Heather said as she handed him the pie.

"Oh! Thank you, Heather! Come on in! I'm watching a horror movie."

"Don't mind if I do, Charlie Brown." Replied Heather as she walked in with Charlie Brown, and while Charlie Brown ate his warm apple pie,

Heather, knowing what butterflies do to flowers, kissed Charlie Brown on the forehead in the same manner butterflies pollinate flowers. Charlie Brown looked towards Heather, and knowing the Little Red-Haired Butterfly cares about him, he blushed redder than her hair.
