You know the story of Dr. Henry Frankenstein and how he created his monster. However, there is another side to the story. One hidden from the world.
This story follows that of an old friend of his. Victor Moritz. His father, Buren, was a big-game hunter. Loving the thrill of the game and teaching his son to be a man. His mother, Mary, however, was a faithful worshiper of God. She taught Victor to see the beauty in ALL things. Of course…this conflicted with his determination to prove himself. He saw humanity in those animals. And couldn't bring himself to put them down.
In fact, Victor was too terrified to kill. He feared anything unnatural. To help him cleanse him of his fears, his mother gave him a Holy Amulet she got at a church when she was his age. With God protecting him, Victor felt his fears slightly lift away.
But they came back that fateful day. When Henry made his monster. Victor didn't know what to make of it. Like all others, he feared it. That fear grew and grew the more Henry lost control over it.
Finally, after seeing Dr. Waldman having been killed by the monster's hands, and hearing of the other atrocities it committed, Victor joined the rest of the men on the hunt for the monster. However, beforehand, he found the very same stone Henry used to give the monster life, secretly reforming after he destroyed it. Finding out the amulet fit perfectly in the amulet his mother gave him, he hid it away inside and prayed for protection.
He went with his friend's search party. When Henry was separated, the monster roared to lure all three parties to an old windmill. There, the monster, more specifically the being speaking through the monster it possessed as a soulless vessel, revealed that it had killed Henry and used its dark magic to inflict madness on the mob.
The mob turned on each other in primal fear and frenzy. Stabbing, burning, even dogs biting and mauling one another. In the end, perhaps it was God's will, Victor managed to survive. But as the last man remaining.
He begged for God to save, if not all of them, only ONE. And when the Monster leaped down to face him, THAT is when it happened.
Within the amulet, the stone reacted to Victor's fear. The magic of the amulet amplified it, and Victor was struck by a green lightning bolt from the heavens: God granting him His power.
With this new powerful armor, Victor was able to fight the monster as an equal, their battle within the mill lighting it ablaze! In the end, the monster was destroyed, and Victor managed to barely escape with his life from the burning mill, which crumbled shortly after.
He returned home a hero. And from the unexpected thrill of the game when hunting something monstrous, Victor was inspired by the sound of Hell itself singing during the madness-induced voices to give himself a new name: Victor Van Helsing.
Thus he began a long journey to discovering even MORE of the monster world. And he even became humbled to learn that they were just as human as his own race was. He would defend both the natural and supernatural, man and monster alike, from each other and those that would not understand.
But it didn't end with Victor alone. No, he was inspired to pass his beliefs and traditions on through his bloodline. You see, I was not the first Monster Hunter. Nor will I be the last.
The next generation followed Victor's daughter Integra. While it was her father before her that discovered most of the supernatural world and researched all it had to offer, it was her that uncovered the HISTORY of the supernatural, and would spend most of the family's efforts to find the seven mysterious stones.
The third generation followed Integra's son, George. It was he that came across the notes of Dr. Jekyll, and became the partner of the one and only Sherlock Holmes and Dr. John H. Watson when it came to supernatural cases. Together they managed to apprehend the infamous Jack the Ripper.
The fourth generation followed someone you already know: Professor Abraham Van Helsing, who I was named after. It was HE that first encountered the dark and terrible force that was the nightmare to end all nightmares: And lived to tell about it. By staking him through the heart in his sleep, Abraham sent the dark lord into a slumber that would last for one hundred years.
But his story didn't end there. After his encounter with the vampire, he also traveled to Iping to help the town police deal with an invisible madman, who used another one of the strange stones to create his Monocane drug. He set fire to the bar to lure him out, and you know the rest. Meanwhile, Abraham deduced that no man could kill a monster. Only with the power of the magical amulets could they at least stand a chance. So he began practicing the art of magic, even looking into Egyptian magic to perfect a way to create a prison for monsters, enchanting ordinary items like books to suck in dark threats. Thus the Mystic Manuscript was born.
The fifth generation followed Kate Van Helsing, who was tasked with bringing in a dangerous prisoner who escaped from Devil's Island called Erik, better known as the Phantom of the Opera. With some help from the police, she was able to track him down and apprehend him, but since she was given orders to bring him in dead or alive, she ended up with the former after a mob drowned him.
The sixth generation followed twins Gabriel and Alice Van Helsing. Gabriel was full of pride and desired to slay all evil. However, when facing off against Slappy after he ruined Franz Meher's career, the ventriloquist's dark magic managed to kill him. But he succeeded, with his death warning us of how powerful and dangerous Slappy was, and how much more stronger he could become.
Meanwhile, Alice continued her family's search for the stones. She arrived in a small town in Egypt to take another stone that brought a mumy back to life, and then faced off against werewolves a decade later from a werewolf's rampage in Llanwelly Village, using a silver sword she forged from silver bullets since she could run out of ammo. Afterwards she found another stone.
She also encountered Frankenstein's Monster, who had survived the mill and lived in secret for many years and even created a bride. However, the bride had the soul of a little girl called Maria, who had accidentally been killed by the monster. Understanding their desire to live in peace and in secret, Alice trained them to become Hunters like herself.
However, a powerful vampire managed to swipe the five stones that the Van Helsing family collected: The one that created the blood he drank from to become a vampire, the one that transformed Larry into a werewolf, the one that created Frankenstein's Monster, the one that revived the mummy, and the one used to create to Monocane drug. With these stones, the dark lord sought to eclipse the sun and turn day into night forever. But the device he made to harness the stones' power failed. Because he was missing two of them, as he quickly learned.
But he would not escape from being freeing himself of his slumber so easily. Frank managed to sacrifice himself to burn the unholy king with a holy cross, allowing Henry's dormant soul within him to reawaken when he would be revived. Alice and Maria hid the stones across the world, and Alice herself would try and find the remaining two stones.
That was a task she passed down to her own children in the seventh generation: Edward and Erika. While Edward did not share his uncle's fate, the twins managed to do what their mother could not: They found the remaining two stones, one guarded by a creature from a black lagoon, and another that brought about a night of the living dead. I'm sure you know which is which. They also encountered alien life during the Roswell Incident and kept it hidden from the world. They even battled the giant Kraken monster when Slappy got his hands on the Heart of Poseidon, forcing Erika to shatter it into four pieces to stop him from raining down chaos with his new pet. Later on they would prevent the existence of a monster getting leaked out to the public.
Then there was the eight generation: My father, Alexander Van Helsing. You may call him Alex. HE was the one who helped R.L. Stine and Jack Black defeat Slappy and seal both him, his monsters, and even Horrorland away. Afterwards, Stine was inspired to write about each and every monster he had encountered. And an all new legacy was born.
Finally, you have me. Abraham Van Helsing The Second. Just call me Abe. I'm the ninth generation of the Van Helsing family. My whole life I studied the supernatural and all its lore and history. And in my lifetime, in this century, the greatest evil has revealed itself. And Slappy looks like a toy in comparison. And this darkness plans to get all seven of these stones to resume a plan CENTURIES in the making.
But no way in Hell can I handle this alone. I'll need help. But not JUST from the best. The very BEST of the best. He has an army of monsters. And I need one of my own.
That, my friends…is where you come in.
…
"There's no need to explain your whole life stories." Abe continued. "While you've been keeping yourself a secret from the humans, you've grown quite popular among the monsters. It was only a matter of time before I heard all about you. Crossing through dimensions, fighting a shadowy being to save people from being used as batteries, hunting the worst monsters out there, and even saving this small little town on various occasions: Giant mantis, zombie outbreak, sentient tornado, psychic ghost, even a monster onslaught! Well…the stakes are higher this time. Ever felt like saving the WORLD?"
"Well…" Cory stated. "We DID with the Menace. He was gonna bring this Fier entity into our dimension using the demon dimension as a gateway."
"Woah, those people were YOUR family?!" Mirpo gasped. "That explains how you got the tech. But I never gave you any…"
"No, but they DID reverse-engineer the tech from that future saucer of yours. So thanks for that." Abe smiled.
"You've got some AWESOME gadgets, by the way!" Lisa added. "But, uh…what ARE they?"
"Standard issue monster hunting stuff I managed to invent." Abe said. "Garlic and wooden stake launcher for vampires, plus THIS little beauty."
He held up a ray gun pistol with a prism crystal.
"I call it the Day Ray. Emits out pure daylight to burn vampires and turn werewolves back into humans. Plus, it's really bright to look at. All my blades and bullets are made of silver as well, self-forged of course, because that's expensive. I've also got a BUNCH of magic spells and alien tech, and even some things that are a mix of them. Like my very own Gravity Gun. I'm sure you saw that one. And THIS one…is what I argue to be my greatest creation."
He pulled out a powerful ancient-yet-futuristic blaster the size of an assault rifle. There was a dial, a trigger, and a green crystal at the end.
"I call it the Transformation Ray. The ULTIMATE monster cure." Abe said. "In this green Natural Setting, monsters can become human. Just zap a werewolf, vampire, and zombie, and the curse is lifted. But, say you're a monster trapped in a human form. That's when you use the Supernatural setting."
He turned the dial, making the crystal glow red.
"Any living being hit will become a monster. I had to do MANY tests to make it stable. You get a beastly form with your humanity intact. Plus, normally the crystals are hard to find. Thankfully I can get some no problem. But so far…it has no effect on items, objects, or inanimate stuff, like the stones."
"And…what ARE the stones?" Cory asked
That's when Van Helsing froze. His eyes narrowed suspiciously as he looked around.
"Uh…is…it some kind of super secret?"
"No, but it'll have to wait." Van Helsing said. "We're not alone…"
That's when the magic users began sensing what Van Helsing was. It was something dark. Malevolent. And far more menacing than any that had ever come before.
BAM!
"AH!"
Mirpo jumped. As if the entire house was possessed, the doors and windows all slammed shut and locked themselves! Van Helsing quickly took the pink stone and hid it inside an armored case he brought along.
"Don't just stand there!" He said. "Arm yourselves!"
The dark magic's force of energy was no joke. The Midnight Society did just that, with magic, tech, and monster forms. Dr. Jekyll mentally retreated and Mr. Hyde emerged.
"Hey doc, we need weapons!"
"I know!" Abe said. "Here, take this!"
He tossed Hyde and Ben some more ammunition for their pistol and rifle. Meanwhile, Van Helsing took out a large war hammer and handed it to Frankenstein. The hammer seemed to power up to life as green electricity surged through and around it.
"Where'd you get this?" The monster asked.
"A gift from Maria. She said it was for you." Abe said, loading his crossbow with a wooden stake. "Now be quiet. He's here…"
The candles and flames all went out. The house was in total darkness. Even the fireplace was blown out by supernatural wind.
Nothing. Nothing but still silence. Cory was almost terrified to ask who exactly was here.
Van Helsing took a few careful steps towards the fireplace. The house seemed to creek under his footsteps. He aimed his crossbow at the fireplace, waiting.
Minutes seemed to pass. Those seconds felt like HOURS…
And suddenly, hellfire burst forth from the fireplace, taking the form of a screaming fiery skull!
