"Ugh…water. Why did it have to be water?"

Randy stared into the massive lake before him. It seemed to be pretty deep. Maybe it led to an ocean via underground caverns? Now he really DID wish he was a fish person rather than a werewolf. At least this seemed easier than getting Kaiju Blood. What if the stuff was toxic?

"Okay, how am I gonna get this guy out?" He pondered, still immensely worried for his older sister. "I don't exactly have a nuke with me or something like that…"

He tried howling. Nothing. Maybe he was at the wrong place?

No, this was DEFINITELY the spot. The monsters here said only one Kaiju had scales. Their alpha, Gira the Guardian. A wrathful giant that protected the natural order of this world. And yet no one was spared its vengeance.

It was then that there was a low yet loud sound heard. And the water began glowing an eerie green.

The entire land seemed to shake. Randy calmed himself. The last thing he needed to do was to show hostility. Or else be flattened into a big fat furry pancake.

The water itself seemed to erupt and explode! Randy braced himself against the strong waters, coughing and sputtering after getting drenched. And then, he saw two eyes open and glare at him.

A large dark green reptilian head faced him. And a large face snarled. This HAD to be him. Randy tried not to freak out. He hadn't faced anything this big since the mantis.

"Uh, hey there, Mr, uh, Gira guy!" He called. "I uh…I don't know if you speak, and you probably don't, but…uh…my sister's been bitten by Dracula."

Gira didn't bat an eye. He just stared at the werewolf before him.

"And…uh…I'm trying to save her before she loses her humanity. Forever. So…I heard that your scales were needed for a cure. Not sure how I'm gonna get THAT back, but I'm sure I'll find a way. So, uh…can you help me? Please, my sister's life is on the line!"

Gira only moved in close and took a sniff. Randy could've sworn he felt himself getting sucked in! After the Kaiju sniffed him more times…Gira's eyes widened.

"Is…is that a yes? T-That's a yes, right?"

"SKREEEEEEEEEEONK!"

The force of the roar sent Randy tumbling back, and Gira began rising from the water with tremendous stomps! Randy only went wide with horror as green lights traveled from the tail to up the neck and throat.

"No, nonononononono, wait wait wait wait wait, I didn't come here to fi-!"

Too late. The not-so-jolly green giant unleashed a stream of massive green fire! Randy yelled as he bolted, with Gira roaring and giving chase!

No WAY could Randy fight something so big alone! But why was he attacking him?!

That's when it hit him. Like a freight train. And the tail nearly smashed him, too.

"Wait, is this because I'm part DEMON?!" He screamed. "That I'm not from this world?! I didn't have a choice, this is the only place I could get them! I SWEAR, I'M NOT A THREAT!"

Why do people keep saying that about demons?!

Randy managed to hide to try and avoid Gira's gaze. No way could he get a scale if he was EATEN. He cursed in his head. WHY did beings on EVERY SINGLE WORLD always want to kill him?! WHY?!

"And Lucy says SHE'S cursed…"

A thunderous boom of a footstep made him jolt. He was almost glad that kaijus couldn't exist in his world thanks to its more scientific physics.

Fine then. It saw him as a threat? Then he'd BE a threat!

Randy transformed into his Hellhound form to better withstand the giant's attacks. He dodged an arm blade stab to the ground and raced up it, holding on for dear life when the giant tried shaking him off with a roar. He stunned it with a triple fireball blast to the eye, then raced across the body. He just needed ONE scale. But he couldn't risk hurting the giant and making it want to eat him even more.

Maybe a small bit of a scale will do. I hope!

He ended up sliding down the Kaiju's back, dodging the bone spikes Gira detracted to try and impale the demonic abomination. Randy felt his mind racing when his eyes fell upon something at the end of Gira's spiked mace-like tail.

A loose scale! YES!

Randy snagged it once he got to it and raced off! The scale was as big as the Moonstones, so it HAD to be enough! But there was still another problem: Gira being hot on his heels!

Randy used that supernatural speed of his to dart into the forest, and evading the wave of green fire Gira sent his way as the Kaiju stomped after him. The Hellhound managed to make his way onto a massive stone bridge going over a chasm, with Gira still coming for him!

Hold on…this bridge doesn't look like it can support his weight!

Unfortunately for Randy, Gira thought the same the moment Randy was halfway across. So instead, the Kaiju tried blasting Randy again. The green fiery laser that followed, however, ended up hitting the bridge instead.

"Ha! You MISSED, you Godzilla knockoff!"

Gira only let out a strange noise with a smile.

"Wait, are you…are you laughing?"

That's when Randy heard something. Rumbling. And cracks began to form on the bridge!

"Oh no…"

Clearly the Kaiju Alpha was FAR smarter than it looked! Randy began to bolt as fast as he could as the bridge began to give way and collapse! It felt almost suicidal running TOWARDS the giant monster, but what choice did he have?!

"No no no nonononononononono-AAAAAAAAHHHHHHH!"

Randy ended up tumbling and falling into the chasm, the bridge debris following to bury him underneath! And when the dust settled…there was seemingly no sign of the half-breed.

Snarling, Gira let out one last beam of green fire to make sure it was dead. Afterwards, he stomped away, his work done.

Thankfully, unseen and unheard by the Kaiju, a figure managed to free himself from the rubble, coughing and panting.

"Never…thought my…healing factor…would be…so GOOD for something…" Randy gasped. No ordinary human would be able to BARELY survive a Kaiju's Atomic Breath, let alone falling from a collapsing bridge and getting buried in the rubble.

That's when he realized something. He searched for that scale, and thankfully, it didn't get far. Seriously though, that took way too much time.

Randy took off with the Kaiju Scale back to the Cryptid Keep, moving as fast as he superhumanly could. Too bad he wasn't as fast as Primor. But it HAD to be enough.

And hopefully, he'd never have to deal with something that terrible ever again…
