As we all fighting players know. The typical Fighting Games' stories are just What Ifnities with our choice of character against random set of opponents and bosses for the last.

What I'll do Is the actual story with actual preparation and tournament where winner half goes further and loser half goes home.

To keep story short.

The head of Mishima Zaibatsu Heihachi Mishima announced the competition: The King of Iron Fist Tournament. And 16 fighters accept challenge in pursuit for their goals.

Arc 1: Preparation and Flashbacks

These battles shall portray all the characters bios, their gameplay tutorial. Unfortunately not all of them will get gameplay action.

1. Ganryu vs Generic Sumo

The first fight portrays Ganryu's rising career as Sumo Wrestler. The youngest Rikishi battles some generic opponents and wins the clash. But due to his gambling habits Ganryu was kicked out of sports competition. Thus continuing making the living in such disgraceful way.

2. Nina Williams vs Richard Williams

3. Anna Williams vs "Mother" Williams

The following 2 matches are flashbacks portraying Nina Williams and her younger sister Anna sparing with their parents. Nina with father, while Anna with mother.

Nina embraced the assassination arts, thus winning her father's approval, while Anna was constantly ignored. And that triggers the sisters' enmity.

4. Marshall Law vs Paul Phoenix (our choice of fighter)

Law's bio states that he befriended Paul Phoenix. When the announcement of tournament reached their ears. They've began polishing their bodies and skills. After the sparring. Paul tries to learn Law's somersault, and he lands unsuccessfully on his stomach.

5. Lee Chaolan vs Marshall Law (our choice)

The Duo's last battle didn't go unnoticed by Lee Chaolan and he joins them for the next sparring with Law while Paul went for warming up street fight.

6. Paul Phoenix vs Kazuya Mishima (our choice again)

Everyone who read their bios know that their match is ended with draw.

7. Heihachi Mishima vs Jack

Now let's see The Big Boss in action. Jack's bio states that he was sent by Russians to eliminate Heihachi at the tournament for stealing their prototype.

8. Armor King vs Wrestler

Armor King earned his reputation as the most fearsome luchador in the underground wrestling arena.

9. King vs Armor King

Until he met his new challenge: Another luchador with the yellow mask of cheetah different from his own black jaguar.

King proves himself to be a very strong opponent and he accidentally damages Armor's left eye, putting him sidelined until recovery. The tournament grants the chance to settle the score.

10. Yoshimitsu vs Kunimitsu (CHOICE CHOICE CHOICE CHOICE)

The Manji Clan has briefed their mission of infiltrating and robbing the Mishima Zaibatsu vault, while sparring.

11. Michelle Chang vs "Father" Chang

"Father" was ordered by Heihachi to retrieve the Arizona treasure. But there he fell in love and his wife gave a birth to the daughter, they named her "Michelle".

Michelle was learning Xin Yi Liu He Quan and Baji Quan from her "Father". Until one day she returned home and discovered from her mother that Mishima Zaibatsu henchmen has murdered him.

12. Prototype Jack vs henchmen.

Heihachi upgrades his Russian loot and puts him to the successful test.

Arc 2: Personal Enmities

1. Yoshimitsu vs Ganryu

The King of Iron Fist Tournament begins with Ganryu meeting Yoshimitsu as his first Tekken opponent. After Yoshimitsu knocked out Ganryu, he issues an order to his Manji Clan unit to retrieve all of the Ganryu's ill-gotten gains.

2. Nina Williams vs Anna Williams

Both sisters clash their Koppojutsu and Aikido. Nina's ruthlessness gave her an upper hand over Anna. Not letting up, the older sister knocks the younger out cold and advances to the second round.

3. Wang Jinrei vs Marshall Law (I swear this is the last choice for Tekken 1)

Wang's old age of 82 years might've strained his physical stats but it's backed with his huge fighting experience and rare fighting style Xin Yi Liu He Quan.

Marshall Law is still in his prime 25 years. But alas his lack of experience of Jeet Kune Do has led this match to the Draw.

4. Kazuya Mishima vs Lee Chaolan

Lee gets his chance to prove himself that his stepfather's teaching weren't wasted. He uses his Mishima Ryu style mixed with some of Jeet Kune Do moves. But Kazuya another bearer of Mishima Ryu overpowers his opponent and goes further.

5. Paul Phoenix vs Kuma

The average human would shat their pants while fighting the bear. That's not the case with self proclaimed Toughest Fighter in the Universe. Paul pulls off Hugh Glass and advances. Kuma is alive no worries.

6. Jack vs Prototype Jack

Russian Military was not wasting their time and also upgraded their remaining JACKS. And their unit of one completely obliterates the stolen prototype.

7. King vs Armor King

The rematch has repeated and King moves up to the 2nd round.

8. Michelle Chang vs Kunimitsu

The mysterious amulet in Michelle's possession is the treasure hunted not only by Heihachi Mishima but Kunimitsu too for their own ulterior motives. The Wandering Female Fighter defends the amulet knocking Kunoichi out cold.

Arc 3: Round 2

Due to one draw match the tournament keeps the odd number of participants. Heihachi organises the following raffle with 3 pairs, while the remaining fighter automatically goes to the quarter finals and facing the winner of the first pair. Between...

1. Paul Phoenix vs Jack

The toughest of the universe must overcome all innovative challenges.

2. Kazuya Mishima vs Nina Williams

The clash of predators sharing their one goal: Getting Heihachi Mishima's head.

3. Yoshimitsu vs Michelle Chang

The Remaining bunch. Weird but Yoshimitsu is playable demo character.

Yes yes, you're correct. King automatically is quarter-finalist. Thank your bio, stating you've made it far despite being kinda minor character for the main focus.

Arc 4: Finals

May the best fighter win these matches!

1. Paul Phoenix vs King

2. Kazuya Mishima vs Yoshimitsu

3. Kazuya Mishima vs Paul Phoenix

The street fight creates one-sided rivalry. Paul barely contained his excitement to prove himself against his strongest opponent yet. That he is #1.

Kazuya merely sees Paul as just another obstacle before his main goal. It was a tough battle. Kazuya gets the victory by a scratch.

Before the final.

4. King vs Yoshimitsu

They'll battle for the 3rd place, who'll get minimal amount of cash.

5. Heihachi Mishima vs Kazuya Mishima

Seeing his old man after so many years triggers all the hatred Kazuya held for the past 20 years. We move back when Kazuya was kid and gets wrecked by his father Heihachi. The senior Mishima picks the kid's body and throws him off the cliff.

Present time fight wasn't much different from the past one. Until...

6. Kazuya Mishima vs Heihachi Mishima

A Purple aura coated Kazuya's body awakening his magical dark powers. The younger Mishima used his new enhances to return every blow Heihachi dealt to him.

When the fight was over Kazuya picks the bloody heap of Heihachi's body and delivers his revenge, throwing his father off the same cliff from 20 years back.

Now that the head of Zaibatsu is no more, Kazuya claims the throne and prepares to fruit his plans.

A few days later

The Manji Clan under Yoshimitsu's command robs the conniving richmen to help unlucky poors. The most impactful act. The Space Ninja provided the cut of Ganryu's savings for Marshall Law.

The amount of cash was big enough to build his own dojo, with his cooking career and Jeet Kune Do teacher he'll finally rise his family for the better life.

King has made it for the top 3, earning not much but still enough money to provide the orphanage he runs, for awhile. The kids meet their foster parent with their brightest smiles and embraces.

King would continue to raise these children helping them built their paths for the bright future. Just like he built his.

That time Paul got bested by his rival. But that only encouraged him to work harder, pushing past his limits and when he gets his chance for the next tournament he'll put all of his might and beyond to even the score.

Look out Kazuya, because Paul Phoenix will not stop until he gets the title of "Toughest in the Universe" from you.

Despite not winning this Iron Fist Tournament. Jack collects the data from all of the fighters he met. The Military shall use this to upgrade the JACK model to prepare for the incoming threats around the world.

Back at The Williams sisters' home Anna bickered with Nina about former accusing the latter for stealing her shoe. Anna receives a slap to her face (literally). That was painful as hell and she leaves with tears covering her eyes. Nina meanwhile was smirking for the prank's success.

Bitterness still resides in Michelle's heart for not being able to win the tournament, face Heihachi and avenge her late father.

On the way home to Arizona, the news of Heihachi's disappearance reached her ears and that called o lot of emotions.

Dissatisfaction, worry. That is topped by several questions. Why was Heihachi after her father? What exactly did he needed? And what was this The King of Iron Fist Tournament all about?

Michelle doesn't know if she'll find the answers. Until then, she still has a family: her mother. The loss of father and husband made them incomplete, but they'll be there for each other cherishing their memories of their happy life and make the new ones. That grants her a little bit of peace in her mind.

THE END.
