Chris Watts' public defender, John Walsh walked in my office.
"I am not interested in helping your client get parole. So, you wasted your time."
"There is extensive evidence online to prove his victims are alive and living under aliases."
"Shanann, Bella, and Celeste Watts were pronounced dead. Unless, they magically came back from the dead, your client is staying in Jail."
"I don't know how they're alive but they are."
I looked up.
"Alright. I'll bite, Walsh."
"You know that Firefighter Lieutenant that got injured in the line of duty early this morning?"
"Yes. It's all over the web. She's a mother of six kids. The youngest being two months old."
"That's not what caught my attention."
"What did?"
He had his phone out.
"I'm quoting an article to make sure I get it right."
"Okay."
"Lieutenant Jones-Epple is the granddaughter of Frank Rzucek and Sandy Rzucek. She is the niece of Frankie Rzucek."
I looked down, shutting my eyes.
"Chris's daughter is dying. He deserves to be there."
"What if The Rzuceks--"
"There is no other explanation. You know that and so will everybody else. Once I reveal to the public what a fraud the Weld County DA is. And how heartless he is. Not to let a father say goodbye to his dying daughter."
"What are the chances--"
"She fell through a roof into a fire. What do you think?"
"Where's your proof?"
"You have the photo of the Watts on the front porch."
"Mm-hmm."
"Sofia Jones" is Shanann's alias."
It was a picture of them on the front porch.
A little boy was sitting on the left side with his feet dangling above the first step.
"Noah Leland Jones" is Niko's alias."
A blonde hair hazel eyed teenager was sitting in the middle with her feet on the first step.
"Skylar Jones-Epple" is Celeste's alias. She married Nathan Epple."
A dark brown hair hazel eyed female was sitting on the right side with her feet on the first step.
"As I said "Sofia Jones" is Shanann's alias. She married Steve Jones. A guy Shanann had feelings for but tried to hide them."
A brown hair brown eyed teenager was standing behind "Sofia."
She had the same shade of brown eyes as Chris Watts.
"Scarlett Jones-Epple formerly Scarlett Jones-White is Bella's alias. She was married to Chase White until he died in a fire. Bella married Mason Epple in 2041."
"Scarlett's" eyes sparkled in the sunlight.
Steve Jones was squatting behind "Skylar."
He had his right index finger on her right shoulder.
"Fine. I'll let Chris out."
"Thank you."
"However if he even breathes wrong in their direction, I will lock him back up."
"Got it."
"Good."
Walsh walked out.
