A/N: Thank you guys so much for reading! As always, I do not own any of these characters. This chapter is entirely in Elliot's POV for good reason. I have out a one-shot, I'm Here Tonight, so please check it out! Happy Reading!
Elliot POV
The words were out of my mouth before I could help it. "Ed? As in Tucker?" I know that this probably wasn't the time for this discussion, in fact I knew it wasn't. But I could not help it. She confirms this with the look she gives me. I immediately follow with, " I'm sorry Liv, I just-"
She cut me off before I could explain, but I knew that she knew what was going through my mind. Ed Tucker. The IAB rat. The man who went after me and her multiple times, even arresting Liv for a frame up job. Pain in our asses from day one. Ed Tucker. Did she- could she really have built a serious relationship with Tucker? Damn, was he Noah's father? It hit me that I had missed out on so much of her life. The guilt hit me hard in the gut. She was taken by a psychopath and tortured for days, almost raped and murdered, climbed the ladder in her work, had a serious relationship with the rat- I mean Tucker. Had a son, juggled motherhood. And she said he died- I must've zoned out because she grabbed both sides of my face. "El, I know that you, well downright hated the man, but yes- Tucker and Ed are one and the same." She didn't look away- she held my gaze and I felt my temper rise, but the look she was giving me I couldn't do that. I couldn't be mad right now, simply because I knew I had no right. I left her- as she had told me previously that first night, and she had deflected my questions with the bout with Eli. I know that if I get angry now, she will shut me down, and I cannot have that. She's finally letting me back in. So, let's just say therapy has helped a little with that. I calmed myself, she watched me, tilted her head sideways a little and continued. As if reading my mind, she says,"Ed is not Noah's father. That's a story within itself. And it came a lot later after the Lewis... escapade. And I will tell you all about them both. But let me finish this please." She paused a moment and I nodded for her to continue. "So, after the IAB investigation, there was a grand jury convened due to my televised confession. And the acting Lieutenant at the time- he saved me. He knew that I had lied under oath in the trial, and I was getting ready to put my papers in and leave. And he went before the grand jury and saved my badge. Told them that I acted under direct orders from him to save a little girls' life. Shortly after, he went back to his undercover work, but I respected the man." I couldn't help but be happy for her, that someone had gone to bat for her when I wasn't there. I had respect for this man too because of it. My coffee had gone cold, not that I had really touched it. We sat in silence for a moment. "Liv, do you want to come inside? It's a little chilly tonight, and Eli is not home, he's staying at a friends' house. Mom is with Kathleen. Please just come inside." I stood, and held out my hand to her. She looked at me for a moment, contemplating. I gave her a smile and motioned my head. "C'mon, Liv, the couch is a lot more comfy than these steps." She smiled and chuckled, and then she replied, "Ok, El, sure." She doesn't take my offered hand getting up, but she faces me, caresses my face for a moment, looking into my eyes. Then she walks ahead of me and stands by the door. "What are you waiting for?" Good question Liv. Good question. Punching in the code, I let us both inside.
A/N: I think this is a good place to leave us. Next chapter should have more about Noah and maybe a little Tucker, too. ;)As always, please leave a review, I love hearing your guys' feedback and thank you so much for the support!
