That Spiteful Brake Van.

The Brake-Van growled after Donald left after bashing him about, threatening him violently after he had given the damned engine's brother a hard time, purposefully delaying the trains. His buffers were in pain after being repeatedly and violently battered by Donald and threatened to not cause any more problems for his twin. But he had always done this.

The Brake Van had a particularly antagonistic relationship with all the engines on the island. Many of them refused to even have him coupled to the trains they pulled, not that it bothered the van because it hated the work; but whenever he was forced to work, he would go out of his way to make life extremely difficult for the engines pulling the train, putting on his brakes, and mocking and jeering the engine.

It had all started after he had been released after being built. He had been put to work, but the engine had battered him too badly. The brake van had put it out of his mind at first, but it had angered him greatly.

But it had happened again.

And again.

And again.

Each time, the Brake Van was battered and his buffers were sore, and he was left seething. From that moment onwards, the Brake Van had become as troublesome as the trucks. In his mind, they were alike and they shared a passionate loathing for the engines, who pulled them and battered them all day long. Were they that surprised whenever a truck insulted them or mocked them? Well, the Brake Van mocked them a little more, and he was even more spiteful than them. The Brake Van had despised the engines he'd encountered instantly, but the Scots engines that were new were even worse.

He hated their accents. There was something about those Scottish accents that made him ill, and it was hard for the van to understand them.

He hated the way they worked.

He hated the fact he was forced to work.

But what he hated the most was being threatened and bashed around, but the van knew when he was beaten. He was shaken and frightened of what that engine would do next should he come back.
