The moment that school ended, the different exit doors swung open. Each age group had their own exit. As a result, it looked like an orderly end to the day. The front yard of the school was flooded with kids. Some of the kids chatted, joked and walked with their friends. Most were headed to where they were either picked up from their parents or that they took the bus home to their house. Amaria and her group of friends all stood near the bus stop. As they were all waiting for the bus, they quickly noticed that Amaria had been quiet since they left the building,
"Amaria, what's wrong?", asked Philip.
Amaria looked at him.
"Nothing. Its just that Astrid thinks I'm stealing her boyfriend or something.",said Amaria.
Her friends started laughing,
"Where would she get that idea?",asked Chloe.
"Beats me. She just likes to make up stuff.",said Amaria.
"That must be true because you're nothing like that.",said Philip.
This made Amaria smile. She thought about how Philip is a good friend. After all, Philip's right. Amaria wasn't into makeup or boys yet. Astrid was. Amaria was more into politics and science. Amaria wanted to develop herself as a good student and a good friend. She wasn't like all the other girls who gossiped and dressed up. She had her own sense of style and her own personality. Thats what made her who she was, after all. Astrid was the complete opposite. All she cared about was being popular...which made Amaria groan,
"Can't believe I was friends with her.",she thought to herself .
Soon after that thought, the school bus arrived to pick up Amaria and her friends. The doors swung open. Each friend, one by one, walked onto the bus one at a time. As they got settled in, conversation paused , then, everyone got adjusted to more people and went back to their noisy socializing while the bus pulled away from the curb.
