I return once again!
Anyways from the feedback I've received so far I feel that I should probably clarify.
Time-Period: The story takes place post Great War, but pre civil war. So when Sirchez and all that had their time to shine.
Harem?: No, there will be relationships outside of who ever I pair Silas (pretty obvious with who at point) with but I struggle with writing dialogue and romance will generally be a subplot from the main storyline. There may be chapters which'll be fluffier that Yasaka's 9 tails but I'm not going to focus on it.
Also question for you guys: Should Silas recruit a sacred gear user? And if yes, should I make it a canon sacred gear, or one that I'll come up with?
With that said and done, I appreciate the feedback guys!
Anyways;
Onwards to the story!

Shax Family Manor
Silas' golden eyes widened as he ducked under the speeding form of Stahl as the knight flew right over him and slammed into a wall, turning his gaze back to their opponent, Lord Shax kept his face impassive even if he were surrounded at all side.
Dodging a strike from Mordred who came at him from his flank with a step to the side, he struck the dark knight's chest plate with an open palm with such force it broke the sound barrier and flung him to the side of the training grounds.
Coming up from behind the lord was Oda, with his blade held high he leaped forwards with a downward slash.
CLANG!
The Japanese warlord widened his eyes as he stared right into the eyes of Lord Shax, who grabbed the blade of his katana with nary a scratch. With one hand the ultimate class devil threw him aside, where he was caught by his wife.
Glaring at the Lord for daring to hurt her husband, Nōhime let her magic flair.
"Don't you dare touch him, you bastard!" She all but snarled,
Gently letting go of her husband she turned her attention to her opponent fully, who still held his impassive stare.
Casting her hands out and letting loose a barrage of ice shards as her raven black hair whipped violently around her, her magic midst of forming a powerful blizzard around the training arena.
Silas had to shield his face with his hands as the force of the winds grew stronger.
Lord Shax who was watching her spectacle made no move to defend himself either.
Finally condensing the storm she had gathered around her in the palm of her hands, she unleashed the fury of the storm towards the Lord who had still yet to move.
The impact of the condensed storm formed an icy mist that blanketed the entire area, and Silas dared to hope that they had won.
His hopes would be crushed as the mist gave way to the image of Lord Shax, the remains of the stone wall that protected him crumbling away after it had served its purpose.
He raised an eyebrow, "Is that truly all you have?"
Nōhime wasn't given a chance to respond as a pillar of earth erupted from the ground and struck her right in the gut, making her double over in pain.
Seeing his peerage so ruthlessly defeated, he let out a breath that he wasn't aware he was holding as his father's eyes turned towards him.
"LANZENFUER!"
Acting fast he strafed to the right and brought up a series of metal lances that breifly hovered in the air around him before they were launched at blistering speeds towards his Father.
His Father's figure was obscured by a cloud of smoke as the lances reached their destination, not even hesitating for a moment Silas clenched his gauntleted fist as the runes glowed gold.
"SCHLAKE!"
There was a brief orange glow within the dust cloud before it violently erupted as the metal lances detonated from their impact zones. Kicking up an even greater amount of dust.
The training arena was silent as he continued to stare at the dust cloud that hid his father from sight, without noticing the dust particles themselves were moving erratically.
Before he had time to even blink, the airborne sand started to shift and formed together to make a solid snake made from earth and was launched at such speeds he didn't have time to react.
The monster made of earth sucker punched him in the gut and he was sent flying away and into the training ground wall.
Lord Shax let out a sigh as he looked around and saw the de feated forms of his son and his peerage.
"Well, I can see there are some improvements to be made,"
A groan came from the dark knight, Mordred, one of the first to get up, his breastplate dented beyond recognition.
His son's creation, Stahl, came crawling out of the rubble he made when colliding with the wall, his left leg mangled horribly from his brief battle with the lord.
Oda grunted along as he was helped up by his wife, who was sporting her own list of injuries.
Mordred was breathing heavily as he hobbled his way to Silas, clutching his bruised chest as he did so.
"Bloody hell Silas, your old man is scary as hell,"
Lord Shax raised an eyebrow at the dark knights crude manner of speech,
"This 'old man' can hear you Mordred,"
The Knight gave him a look and shrugged in a 'what can you do' manner.
"You would let your peerage act like this?" He asked his son, to which he gave a so so gesture.
"I value Mordred because of skill with a blade, not his ability to lick my boots Father,"
"You want someone to kiss your ass you should've hired Bedivere, never a better ass kisser in Camelot than him!" Yelled the fallen knight in question
Lord Shax let out a suffering sigh as he watched the antics of his son's peerage continue, yet he could not find it within himself to be mad. It was nice that Silas had finally found some company outside of his family.
Speaking of company outside his family Lord Shax was reminded of something he would rather of avoided entirely.
"Ahem, well as amusing as all of this is, Silas I must speak with your privately,"
Commanding his peerage to help the servants clean the training yard, he walks alongside his father as he made his way to his office.
Lord Shax's study hadn't changed, aside from his ever increasing pile of paperwork the office was sparsely decorated and held few mementos.
Taking a seat behind his desk, he addresses his son "Silas, I trust you know what event is coming soon?"
"The Young Devil's Gathering, you told me I am to attend this year correct?"
Lord Shax nodded, his face took on a slight frown, "I hope you know the significance of this event for us Silas,"
"This will be our Family's first public appearance outside of our territory since the Great War,"
"I have hidden you from the underworld's politics for too long, and I fear that I have still yet to adequately prepare you for the den of snakes that is the Pillar nobility, but I cannot hold your hand forever Silas."
Looking at the fear and anxiety that plagued his Father's features was alien to him, for as long as he could remember his Father had always remained the very definition of calm and calculated.
Hardening his features and looking his Father resolutely in the eye.
"I will make you proud Father, I swear this on our family name,"
Lord Shax studied his son's face for any sign of weakness, yet found none.
"I'm sure you will, now haven't you forgotten something?"
Silas looked at his father questioningly, tilting his head to the side.
"I don't believe so?"
Chuckling at his son's cluelessness he called for a servant to bring in something vital for Silas' attendance to the gathering.
"As you know our Family, and the Lucifuge have been partners for years now. I talked with Lord Lucifuge a few days ago both He and I agreed that you should bring someone along with you," His Father finished with a teasing lilt.
The look on his son's face as he realised just what his father was insinuating was something that Lord Shax would remember forever, hearing a knock on the door he called out to the person behind it to come in.
"Greetings Lord Shax, Silas," greeted a voice that Silas knew all too well.
Turning around he saw the face of an old friend, Grayfia stood there in the door war, hands folded neatly in front of her. She saw his bewildered expression and giggled softly.
"it's been quite a while Silas, how have you been?"
"I- uh... it has hasn't it? I've uhm... been well I suppose."
Turning to his Father for support, he only found betrayal as the Lord continued to watch his Son fumble around with his words.
Apparently having finally amused herself from Silas' embarrassment, Grayfia turns to Lord Shax and bowed her head,
"Apologies Lord Shax, may I speak to Silas in private?"
Hiding his bemused smile from his son with a fake cough, Lord Shax waves the two away, " Ahem! Yes, yes go and do what ever you young couples do nowadays,"
Silas turned to his Father with a furious blush on his face "Father!" was all he able to shout before he was dragged away from his study by the former Lucifuge heir.
Grayfia ran ahead of Silas as she led him by the hand through the winding hallways of his family home, this continued until they reached the guest wing of the manor.
They fianlly arrived at one of the more lavish guest wings designs for visiting nobles, opening the door she led him inside.
Lightly panting from their short run and still exhausted from his training session with his peerage, Silas regains his breathe.
"So, what is this all about and why haven't I been told about it?"
Sitting on her bed, Grayfia was facing towards him with her hands neatly folded in her lap.
"It was initially Father's idea to bring you to the ball, after Euclid had refused on attending it was natural that the matter of attendance come to me after all; however, I admit that keeping you in the dark until last minute may have been my idea. Your reaction is worth it."
Silas lightly grumbled at her face, yet he was unable to be truly irritated at her teasing smirk.
"Well I hope you got your kicks out of it,"
She giggled lightly, it was a sound that made Silas' heart soar.
Coughing into his hand, Silas hoped that his blush had died down when.
"So, what are we even doing in your room anyway?"
She noticeably perked up, and smiled brightly before jumping up and running to her closet.
Pulling the sliding door open to reveal several high quality dresses, she looks back at him and gives him a wry smirk.
"Your going to help me pick out a dress,"
Under World Capital, Lucifaad
The Lucifaad Capital Hall was as lavish as one could imagine, abstract shaped stained windows, smooth grey walls, and the dark red curtains that hung from the walls.
Within were the heirs of 72 Pillar families that mingled within, In between the socialising nobles was a devil with long red hair, and striking blue eyes. Sirzechs sighed as his eyes roamed around the great hall, socialising amongst the underworld's nobility was a tiring affair, everyone and everything had an agenda they wanted done and the young devils gathering was a prime place to do it.
His attention was diverted to the entrance when one of the attendants of the ball called out two new arrivals from the list, one of which quickly grabbed his attention.
"Now arriving: Heir to the 44th Pillar, Sir Silas Shax! And his partner, former heiress of the Lucifer Extra Clans, Lady Grayfia Lucifuge!"
The Shax's haven't been seen outside their territory since the end of the Great War! Even their trade deals were held exclusively on their territory.
The devil in question walked into the hall at his introduction, the iconic purple hair and golden eyes of the Shax bloodline gave away his heritage, and intertwined with his arm was a silver haired beauty and former heiress of the Lucifuge.
The pair gathered the attention of many of the nobles that were attending, Silas in particular drew many stares of jealousy courtesy of the person hanging off his arm.
Lady Grayfia was dressed in an intricate strapless black dress that went down to her heels, a slit in the side revealed her long and slender legs, and detached sleeves that went up to her elbows.
He had heard rumours of trade alliances being made between the two but see it with his own eyes. Sirzech Gremory repressed a grimace, if the Old Satan faction had the financial backing of the Shax's then it would be a big problem for his plans. At the though he winced even harder, he was starting to sound like one of those nobles now.
Making sure his face was set back to its charming smile once again, Sirzechs went off in search of the newly arrived couple who had already disappeared into the crowd of devils who had once again started to mingle with each other.
He found the pair talking with another one of the houses, an extra clan if he remembered correctly.
Silas Shax smiled his best as the devil they were talking to continued to spout off insincere compliments and boasted of his few and most likely over exaggerated feats of greatness.
He wasn't used to this sort of environment at all, he hated how everyone hid their thinly veiled insults behind every sentence, he hated how he couldn't just say what he wanted to say without some sort of massive scandal, and he absolutely hated the leering that was directed at Grayfia.
He almost summoned a lance to skewer a poor bastard then and there for looking at her with those disgusting eyes of his before Grayfia managed to stop him by leading them away.
He was droning out the current heir of one of the many houses that attended the gathering when he heard another one cleared his throat and introduced himself,
"Greetings Lord Shax, Lady Lucifuge, My name is Sirzechs Gremory. I'm not interrupting anything am I?"
The Gremory, if memory served Silas correctly they're one of the leading houses in the new devil faction. Deciding that this wasn't a person he could just blatantly ignore, Silas smiled back at the heir.
"No no, we were just finishing this conversation up," he said, interrupting the prattling noble and waving the annoying boy off.
"So, what brings the illustrious heir of the Gremory's to me?"
Unlike many of the nobles before him, Silas noted that Sirzech's smile wasn't forced, and if it was false in any way then the heir hid it admirably.
"Curiosity more than anything really, everyone had heard of your family's outright refusal to leave your territory so your presence here stands as a bit of a surprise to all of us,"
"The Great War had cost everyone a great deal, my father felt that we would need to tend to our territories before re entering the stage once more," was the reason that Silas had given everyone else, and the one he would give to Sirzechs as well.
In truth he had no idea why his family kept to themselves but it was never his place to question his Father's orders.
Sirzech nodded his head at his reasoning, yet somehow Silas doubted that he actually believed him.
"Forgive me if I'm being intrusive, but I must ask, how has your relationship with Lady Lucifuge come about exactly?"
Standing in to answer herself instead of Silas, Grayfia took a small step forward in front him.
"Silas and I have been friends since we were children, we met when our Father's met for business and we've kept in contact since,"
Silas was a bit shocked to see her take charge all of a sudden but remained silent. Sensing that he had overstayed his welcome, Sirzechs took on what Silas assumed to be his signature charming smile and took a light bow.
"Well I suppose I've taken a bit too much of your time, have a good night Lord Shax, Lady Lucifuge,"
Watching the retreating form of Sirzech, Silas turned to Grayfia after he was sure the devil was out of hearing range,
"Not that I'm complaining, but what was that all about?"
Grayfia took in a deep breath as she rubbed her temples,
"More annoying politics. The Gremory's have always been an advocate for reincarnated devil rights, something that the Lucifer Extra clans have fought against for years but they're getting bolder and it's rumoured that Sirzech himself along with Serafall Sitri have ben spearheading the effort. In fact I was suppose to watch them during the ball today under the orders of the Extra Clan elders,"
Silas shot her a puzzled look,
"Wait, if you were supposed to watch him why are you with me?"
Chuckling sweetly, a sound that made his heart skip a beat, she turned to him and shot him a smile before leaning in to whisper in his ear,
"Because I'd rather spend the night with you,"
Silas felt his face heat up and turn red, the feeling of her breath tickling his ear made his blood pump, and if life were a cartoon then he would have started spewing steam right of his ears.
Silas stuttered and struggled to form a coherent response, much to Grayfia's growing amusement.
CRASH!
Silas was saved from further teasing when the sound of crashing tables drew his attention from Grayfia to a noble standing over another. He recognised the standing one as the Heir to the Beelzebub, and the other belonged to another one Silas didn't care to remember.
"You impudent worm! You dare and harm me! You dare and leave a mark on my face!" The Beelzebub heir's face was flushed red with anger, he raised his hand that was powered with demonic energy and prepared to end unnamed heir once and for all.
Silas rushed forwards in an attempt to stop him but the crowd that had gathered around them stood in his way and slowed him down. He watched the bolt of demonic magic flew from the Beelzebub's fingertips and towards the face of the soon to be dead heir.
Or it would have been if not for the dark red energy that made Silas' skin crawl from looking at it, shoot forth and interrupt the magic missile and cancel out the attack entirely.
Off from the side of the the fight stood the heir of the Gremory himself, hand outstretched and crackling with more of the dark red energy.
The interruption made the Beelzebub heir even angrier, he gnashed his teeth together and glared daggers at the red haired devil.
"You! Do you know who I am? How dare you interfere with business that you have no place in!"
"Business? You're about to kill the poor boy for something you started in the first place, if your not prepared to get hurt then you shouldn't start flinging stones,"
His rather casual tone must done something to tick the Beelzebub heir off because he started to gather more dark green energy around himself, and raised both of his arms in the air.
"I AM THE BEELZEBUB HEIR, YOU WILL BE DEVOURED ALIVE!"
The magic power gathered in his hands was used to fuel the power of his bloodline, from the late Beelzebub himself. Swarms of flies were summoned from the palm of his hands and spread out over the hall, it seemed at this point he was uncaring of who got caught in the crossfire.
Finally breaking through the crowd of people who had dispersed at the sight of the power of the Beelzebub heir, Silas reached into the inner pocket of his suit and pulled out small bags of metal shards.
Casting at the bags and quickly emptying the contents, metal shards briefly blanketed the area.
"STAHLSPLITTERSTURM!"
Controlling the metal shards like his father did with the dust at the training grounds days prior, the shards in the air became a swirling mass of jagged metal teeth that collided with the swarm of flies.
The slimy viscera the flies exploded into once they came into contact with the storm of shards rained down below, but just as the shard storm could not be contested by the flies, the flies greatly outnumbered the storm.
Not to be left out of the fight, Sirzech summoned more of his power of destruction and blasted entire swathes of the flying insects away into nothingness.
Watching his swarm getting slaughtered the heir of Beelzebub continued to fuel more of his magic into spawning more swarms of flies.
Deciding to end the fight at it's source, Grayfia finally ended the battle by firing a low intensity blast of her magic into the back of the Beelzebub heir and knocking him out.
With the source of the flies gone, and the man controlling them knocked out, the flies quickly scattered and flew away. Leaving much of the hall destroyed and covered in flow guts.
Silas shuddered as he flicked his arms out in disgust, much of the remains of the insect swarm covered his body.
"Ugh, I don't think I'm ever getting this stench out,"
Noticing that both Sirzechs and Grayfia remained clean, as their magic disintegrated the swarm, Silas let out a moan as he started to clean himself.
/ Sometime Later /
The aftermath of the incident was just as hectic as it was during it, Families demanded explanation and recompense for the situation, and the Beelzebub family was refusing to hold their heir accountable for his actions. Stating that his actions were justified and that nobody should've interfered in the first place.
Grayfia herself was reporting to the elders of the Lucifer Extra Clans when the topic of the Gremory Heir came up.
"So it is as you say? The Gremory Heir holds the power of destruction? I was unaware that any of Venelana's spawn even carried on their bloodline," spoke an elder, sat upon a high chair where Grayfia had to look up to see him
The chamber the meeting had taken place in had elevated seats for the elders to sit in while the discussed the matters of the Lucifuge extra clans. Any non elders who had to speak stood at the centre, surrounded by council.
"I saw the power with my own eyes, even the might of Beelzebub bloodline couldn't withstand the power of destruction,"
Grayfia wanted to be anywhere but here at the moment, she had to leave Silas behind when the Elders called her in and she was worried what sort of trouble that boy would get himself in.
Her Father scratched his chin from his high seat, seemingly in deep thought before speaking.
"Still, to think that the Beelzebub heir would end up embarrassing himself and his house at the gathering of places. Still we are allied towards them; however strenuous that alliance may be, and our reputation will suffer from this, not to mention it was Grayfia that struck the final blow,"
Grayfia almost shrunk under the gazes of the elders at her Fathers words, she was hoping that they wouldn't notice that bit.
"Still it could be worse, by helping to subdue the boy we weren't directly seen as accomplices to their idiocy,"
Luckily it seemed they were merciful today, looking at her Father above she spoke "Father, may I take my leave now? I'm afraid I left Silas all by his lonesome and I'm getting worried he might of done something silly again,"
"You may Grayfia, do tell Silas that I said hello,"
His daughter nodded and bowed before the clan elders before activating the teleportation circle beneath and teleporting back to Lucifaad.
Letting his head fall into his hands he massaged his temples in preparation for what was going to be another long day.
Another head of the branch families called out to him across the room, "Lucifuge, the Shax's are still adamant on their neutral stance are they not?"
"Yes, Lord Shax refuses to budge from his position, I didn't push the issue further in fear of him canceling our deal entirely, he still mourns his late wife. A positive note on that end is that it's unlikely they'll join the Gremory faction,"
The branch head narrowed his eyes, "Unlikely? So theres still a chance he will?"
Nodding his replies, "Yes, the Gremory don't wish to continue the Great War, something I believe that Lord Shax might have strong feeling about considering to how much he's lost during it,"
He hated that look in the elder's eye, the bastard was up to something and he knew it.
"If we cannot convince Lord Shax then we will convince his son. Lucifuge, Grayfia is close to the boy, she will attempt to marry him to bring him to our side. Euclid has recently returned yes? Then he will be sent to watch over Lord Shax in secret to ensure he isn't brought over to Gremory's side,"
He held his anger in, these bastards wanted manipulate his daughter into their political games again and have his son spy over his friend?
"Grayfia will be unhappy that we are taking interests in her personal life,"
"You don't have to tell her, set up meeting between them or some such. Besides she's a girl and not even the heir at that, what she wants doesn't matter,"
Hearing him say that made his blood boil, but he just sat back into his seat and felt the head ache that was already forming. It was going to be a long day indeed.
Aaaaand thats a wrap!
So yeah the young devils gathering and the introduction fo Sirzechs.
Sorry about the dialogue for the fly guy by the way, being a poor student and having Christian parents means I don't have access to volume 0 or manga in general where this guy got his ass kicked by Sirzechs to see what his dialogue and character were like, so I turned him into a generic, bland and annoying character with cliche ass lines whose purpose only serves to showcase the mc's power or some shit.
Unoriginal I know.
Another note: The new satan faction, I don't think I can call them that yet because Sirzech's couldn't have called himself Lucifer at that point and I'm stuck at what I'm going to name them in the mean time.
So any suggestions as to what the new satan faction should be called before the civil war would be appreciated.
Anyhow, I'd appreciate your thoughts and feedback on how I did the chapter!
See ya next time folks!
