It has been 2 weeks since Cole travelled back in time and he has been training no stop to distract himself, barely allowing himself enough time to do the necessities like eating or sleep, only training to be the best to prevent all the suffering from happening again, thankfully Chasm has grown protective of her human and refuses to let him miss a meal the little pup has gone from a harmless ball of fluff to a fierce, muscular wolf determined to do anything to protect the people she cares about and Cole is Nuber 1 on her list.

Today Master Wu is out hopefully collecting the first member of the group, Motormouth, he headed into the city this morning hoping to catch him testing his invention, not expecting to be back till late tonight. So Cole is in charge of doing all the monetary chores, which he finds quite relaxing he spends most of the day raking leaves, riding room upon room or training in the courtyard. When he finally settles for tea, when Chasm drags him into the kitchen, it is dark outside and he is more than ready for bed having been up since 4:30 this morning.

He sat at the small dining table with a cup of tea and a bowl of noodles in from of him but he couldn't start eating he was just sitting zoned out running his fingers up and down his Yang pendant thinking about Kai.

Flashback*

Cole stood on the deck of the bounty practically leaning on the barriers at the bow of the boat. No one had dared to move since they had taken off as they waited with bated breath to see if Lloyd and Kai made it out of the erupting volcano alive. With each moment that passed, the hope of their survival dwindled and it was at that moment Cole realise that he should have told Kai how he felt. Should have told him that from the moment he laid eyes on him from that monastery roof a few months prior he was all he could think about. No matter what he was doing he was always on his mind. He realised at that moment he would never be able to tell him. Then he saw a filler of light different from the rest of the eruption and lo and behold there was Kai, true potential unlocked, glowing and floating over with Lloyd wrapped in his arms smiling like he'd just won the lottery. He then landed on the deck of the bounty just to instantly collapse into Cole's arms.

End of Flashback*

When he finally snapped back into reality he wolves down his noodles that were now cold and headed to bed.

Jay POV*

I stumbled behind this old man as lost feeling in my legs we have been walking for 4 hours now and he doesn't seem to be slowing down any time soon.

"How much further?" I grumble and I try to keep moving.

"Just up the mountain." Replies the old man sweetly not a glimmer of sweat on his face.

Time skip*

We walk through these grand gates at the top of the mountains and I hear the sound of growling coming from my side. Then I am no longer upright. I twist my body around to see what just hit me and am met with a snarling wolf inches from my face.

"Chasm, please will you get off of Jay I think he would like to have his petrified soul returned to his body," the old man proclaims whilst suppressing a chuckle. Like a switch has been flipped the wolf stops snarling and its posture shifts to that of a playful dog and it backs off to head inside, as it glances back at me I swear I see it laughing, can wolves laugh?

I am now sitting in the main kitchen of the building.

"Your room is the second door on the left opposite you on the right is your team member Cole, if he is awake you can introduce yourself but as you saw earlier his wolf, Chasm is very protective of him, you have been warned. I am at the end of the corridor if you need me for anything. I shall see you in the morning if not." He explains as he walks off.

I walk down the corridor after getting myself a drink and grabbing my duffel and can hear a murmur coming from Cole's room so I place my drink and bag in my room and head over. As I approach the door I realise it isn't closed all the way and I can see Cole sitting on his bed talking to himself or the wolf.

"I can't do this Chasm. It feels wrong." He confesses." Seeing Jay s-so young, and him not k-knowing me, I miss my best friend, all my friends and my Yang." He stutters out tears dripping down his face as he buries it into the wolf's fur. "I-I-I just don't know if I can do this. I thought it would be easier than this and I haven't even seen him yet but hearing his voice. I-I just can't." He sobs at this point.

"Congratulations Cole sent back in time to prevent disaster now having a breakdown over hearing your best friend's voice." He tells himself condescendingly.

Like dropping the curtain Coles's appearance changes a glowing green scar appears on his forehead and gone is his reasonably muscular figure which is replaced by a body filled with muscles that you can tell would easily do some damage yet that calm and sweet look remains along with the red raw eyes from crying.

I open the door trying to remain calm

"What do you mean time travelled," I question.

Cole POV*

I am sitting in my room crying and ranting to Chasm, about time travel when I hear a sound to my left and the question, "what do you mean time travelled?" Coming from my best friend. $hit, oh $hit. That's not good. So much for only telling Wu, whilst Jay has changed quite a lot in the last few years his persistent curiosity hasn't and will never, so this isn't going away until I explain. "Yeah, am from about 6 years in the future and have been sent back by the FSM to help prevent a lot of the disasters from occurring again," I explain once again running my Yang pendant through my fingers, the feeling of cold metal along with soft material of Kai's Gi grounding me and the faint smell of smoke and hair gel, Kai, soothing me.

"You've got a Yang," Jay manages to stutter out. " Yeah," I reply timidly.

"Who?" He inquires.

"Kai, the future master of fire and our future teammate, please don't tell him when you meet him," I respond quietly.

"Do I?" He hurriedly asks.

"Yes but I'm not telling you who" I respond sternly.

"Oh." He accepts annoyed.
