After being bombarded with questions and interrogated within an inch of my sanity by Jay asking every question that came to mind, but mostly about fighting I glanced at the clock and bargained to do this in the morning when I could show him what I could do. So here we are at ridiculous o'clock in the morning standing in the courtyard of the monastery, the morning sun barely warming the ground as a faint breeze blows through the air, morning dew creating that one smell that cannot be replicated and birds singing to begin the day. Jay and I stood at the centre of the courtyard with the weapons rack to the side filled with every weapon you could think of, Chasm lay to the side with a look of irritation on her face as I had accidentally woke her to get ready so instead of just falling back to sleep she followed me outside and now blames me for it (You know what look I'm on about). At some point, Master Wu had joined us outside and was pretending to meditate, I have known him long enough to tell, as I know he was curious as he didn't ask many questions when he found out. "What's your first question," I ask Jay preparing for a long day. "Who's on our team in the future? " He inquiries. "On our team, we have You, Me, Kai-" "Your Yang" he intrudes, " Yes," I reply, "there is also Zane, Nya, P.I.X.A.L, Master Wu and Greenbean." "Who is Greenbean?" He question. I glance at Wu as I reply, "he is the green ninja, that is obviously not his real name but it is what I shall refer to him so as to not ruin the prophecy accidentally, " I respond. "What enemy have we fought? " he questions. " We have fought, in order, Lord Garmadon, the serpentine, the Great Devourer, Garmadon, the Overlord, Master Chen, Morro, Acronix and Krux, Harumi, Garmadon again, The Iron Barron, the Oni, Aspheera, the Ice Emperor, Unagami and the Skull Sorcerer." I list off out of breath. I look over and Jay is slack-jawed in front of me even Master Wu looks shocked as he probably recognised half of those names if not more. "Ahem" I attempt to rid the uncomfortable silence that has descended. "Any more questions?" I inquire.
"What weapons can we use?" Jay asks. "Well all of us are well versed in most weapons, there was one time when we were stopping a prison riot and we had no weapons and you grabbed a toothbrush from one of the cells and proceeded to fight with it, but we all have our favourites, I prefer two swords, my scythe or my hammer, you like your nunchucks or a staff, Kai likes two swords or his fists, Zane likes his shurikens or his bow, Nya likes her trident, Wu likes his staff and Greenbean likes his sword or his katana," I reply.
"What can you do?" He asks. Instead of talking, I show him I start with simple spinjitzu and then proceed to airjitzu, I activate my lava arm and create a wall of rock then proceed to break off a large spike and lift it and then throw it over the wall and down the mountain. By the end once again Kay is slack-jawed and Wu looks impressed. "Where did you learn airjitzu," Wu questions, "from Sensei Yang I reply I was also temporarily turned into a ghost but that's another story."
After about 3 hours of questions and demonstrations, Jay was down to his last question " Where did the wolf come from," he asks. "Oh, well on the day I 'met' Wu I heard a cry and found a little wolf pup stuck in a chasm under a boulder so I used my strength to lift the boulder, then patched it up and strapped her to me and carried her the rest of the way up the mountain, she was too small to survive on her own so I raised her when she was old enough and I knew she could survive on her own I tried to release her but she just followed me home glares at me and curled up on my bed and when to sleep so I just stopped trying nothing is keeping her here she is just too protective of me to leave so I let her stay and that's that," I answer. "I have one request, please do not tell Kai or The others anything except maybe about Chasm although it would be hilarious if you left that till after they met her," I ask.
Time Skip*
It's been 2 days since my courtyard in interrogation by Jay and today Master Wu has left to get Zane, he has been gone for hours now and Jay and I have been training all day and we are now chilling and playing some video games when we hear Chasm howl and bark to announce that Wu is back with a stranger and we can hear Zane screaming from here, as any sane person would do when faced with a large snarling wolf. Wu simple pets her on the head and walks in. So Zane cautiously follows once they are inside she runs up to me with a look on her face akin to a laugh. And tackles me to the floor just to tickle me with licks to the face. After she finally lets up I stand to greet Zane which is weird as he is looking human, I have been with titanium Zane longer than human Zane and although he sometimes swaps between the two he is mostly silver. "Hello, I'm Cole nice to meet you." I greet warmly. "Hello I am Zane it is nice to meet you too," he replies. Now that Zane is here I will have to train my spinjitzu in secret as t9 not give away my secret.
The next day we start with training, I pretend not to know anything as if I am the same as I was all those years ago, I held my instincts back and paired the price with a hit to the face with Jay's nunchucks, the last thing I remember is seeing a blur of brown, feeling a sharp pain in the side of my face and then Jay's scream and Chasms panicked yelp before the world went black. When I awoke Chasm was laid on top of me licking my face and growling to keep anyone including Sensei away from me, Jay's eyes are filled with unshed tears and Wu and Zane's faces are filled with concern. "W-wha- happened?" I question as awareness returns to me. "COLE!!" Jay shouts in relief as I wake up.
*Jay POV*
We are training on the roof and I am swinging my nunchucks around when I feel them hit something solid I look to my side and see Cole his eyes drifting shit as his body collapses beneath his I scream his name in terror and I hear Chasm give a concerned yelp as she runs over, that wolf is really quick as although I am less than an arm's length away she still makes it to him before me, her hackles are raises and she is stood over him snarling, not playfully like when I or Zane first met her no this was a real threat, at the sound of the promotion I see Master Wu has come outside and at the site of Cole out cold on the ground and the snarling wolf standing over him, he walks over but Chasm even snarls at him so we both back off. From where we are standing we can see that Cole is still thankfully breathing and once Chasm has determined that we are far enough away she turns around and starts to lick Cole's face to wake him up there is a thin line of blood running from where he was hit but she avoids licking that area as if she knows that would hurt. After about 5 minutes of her refusing to allow anyone remotely close to Cole, we start to get a little worried and then we see him move, then he opens his eyes and groans. I have never heard such a beautiful sound in all my life he then along with the help of Chasm, who still won't let us over, sits up he still looks dazed but at least he is conscious. After about 10 minutes of Cole reassuring Chasm, he is fine she finally allows us to get close enough to move Cole inside and treat his head injury.
