I'm the only one who's in control.

"You weren't there. In the final days of the war. You never saw what was born. But if the time lock's broken then everything is coming through. Not just the Daleks, but the Star of Degradations. The Horde of Travesties. The Nightmare Child. The Could-Have-Been King with his army of Meanwhiles and Neverweres. The war turned into hell! And that's what you've opened. Right above the Earth. Hell is descending".

— The 10th Doctor , The End of Time

Kaito was in what you would call a Mexican standoff as both of he and the evolved Seiryu Inves waited for the other to make the first move. The evolved Seiryu Inves stayed there staring at Kaito's Glaive while the other DRAGONs flew back into the singularity point. The former Overlord narrowed his eyes, the Seiryu Inves could have only gotten here through a crack, he didn't know if he was on a different planet in the same dimension as his former home or a totally different dimension. But he knew very well, Kouta wouldn't release a damn Inves into another world even if the world depended on it. The only one who could and would open a crack, apart from him, Mai and Kouta, was the manifestation of the Helheim forest.

At the same time, Jill and the others were dumbfounded to see the new type of dragon facing against the only man on Arzenal. The Seiryu Inves was a totally different type of dragon, nothing they have ever seen before. The fact that the DRAGONs had retreated even surprised them as they had never done that before. Well, the members of Arzenal always killed them off before they could even retreat anyways.

Kaito stared at the Seiryu Inves, he wasn't scared, but he sure as hell was nervous. The Inves was coated with iron-like scales that could withstand just about any attack, nothing short of a Squash attack or Gaim's DJ Gun could damage it. Hell, even missiles, sword slashes couldn't land a scratch on the Seiryu Inves. The former Overlord knew that first hand, and now, his Glaive was void of weapons.

The man stood strong against the Inves nonetheless, he never ever backed down from an opponent, unless it really called for it. He was also probably the only one on the planet who knew what it was and its abilities.

Kaito sighed as he thought, 'If I live through this, I will find that fucking snake and beat the crap outta him."

Then, he willed his Para-mail to charge the massive Seiryu Inves. The Inves breathed out a dozen fireballs at Kaito's Glaive. The man manoeuvred through the air as he dodged the fireballs easily. (If you don't understand, search ' Ultraman Nexus VS Dark Mephisto Zwei' on Youtube and watch the part 2:15 onwards to where Ultraman Nexus dodges Dark Mephisto Zwei energy balls)

Then the Inves started to shoot more fireballs at the Glaive. Kaito transformed his Glaive into Flight Mode for increased speed. As Kaito did a barrel roll, he found the Seiryu Inves charging him. He dived downwards to avoid the attacks before the man quickly changed his Para-mail to Assault mode and managed to grab the Inves' arms before it could attack him.

The Inves seemed to be surprised as Kaito's Glaive pushed against its own strength. But soon, sparks started to emerge from the Glaive's arm joints. Kaito knew the Para-mail wasn't a match for the Inves when it came to strength, but it was enough. He quickly transformed his Glaive into flight mode as he jumped upwards. As he expected, the Para-mail exploded, stunning the Inves and creating an opening for Kaito.

The man drew his sword and held it in reverse grip. Kaito roared and stabbed the katana into the Seiryu Inves chest. The sword managed to pierce the dragon type monster, but unfortunately, the dragon roared and slapped Kaito away from its chest, breaking the blade in the process as Kaito fell towards the ocean.

Kaito fell as he looked at the Seiryu Inves which roared in triumph. Kaito chuckled as he said to himself, "Better to fight for something and die, I guess that idiot was right. I haven't even started to train that idiot of a princess yet."

As if on cue, Ange sneezed, "Is someone talking about me?"

It was at that moment, something came alive in the basement underneath the island of Arzenal. The island started to shake as that 'something' started to tear the hatch apart with its bare hands, climbing up and out of the hatch to reveal two glowing yellow amber eyes.

Jill gasped slightly as everyone on the island felt the tremor, including the Para-mail riders and the mechanics in the hangar, who were still working to refuel and fix the Para-mails.

Jill exclaimed as she held onto her table, "What the hell?!"

"Ma'am, something is tearing the ground from below the island! Its moving towards the launching platform!" reported Pamella.

Jill's eyes widened in shock as she thought, 'It can't be! That thing hasn't move in ages!'

Her eyes landed on the screen, where Kaito was falling towards the sea, 'It can't be… did it react to Kaito?'

Jill decided to fret over it later and quickly spoke into the mic, "Attention, everyone move away from the launch the platform now! Leave any Para-mails! I don't care if you spent a fortune there, this is an emergency!"

Everyone in the base felt the tremors, and they all felt as if something evil was clawing its way out towards the surface, something out of this world. Then just when everyone got away from the platforms, a robotic hand pierced out of the floor, ripping the metal floor apart as it came out of the hole. It looked around, its yellow eyes glowing as it stared at the frightened girls around it.

It then looked up to see Kaito falling to his death. The enigma spread its wings and shot out of the hangar, giving everyone a clear view of it. It looked just like the Vilkiss, except it was grey and had crimson linings instead of being white and having blue linings. On its head, instead of the angelic figure, was a rhinoceros beetle horn.

The Para-mail ignited its thrusters and sped towards the former Overlord. As Kaito prepared to close his eyes and waited for death's embrace, a ring with a blue gem on his right ring finger started to shine. He heard the sound of the thrusters and opened his eyes to see the grey machine flying towards him, he also noticed the ring on his left hand glowing brightly.

The man decided not to ask any questions and positioned his body so that he dived towards the mech. He reached out and grabbed the controls before landing onto the seat. But as soon as he started to use the controls, the machine went wild and started to swing around in a wild manner as if it was a stallion testing its rider's worth.

Kaito cursed, "Damn it! I can't control this thing! Its like it has its own mind!"

The man held onto the mech as it swung around wildly. Kaito cussed out words that made the girls watching him blush as he struggled to stay on the wild stallion.

Everyone on the island watch in awe and gasp as their only hope is this one male to defeat the unstoppable dragon since all Para-mail are rendered unavailable for flight even worse the launch platform is half destroyed. The girls all prayed for Kaito to gain control of the mech he was on, they knew he was their only hope unless the mechanics can repair the Para-mails on time.

Jill sighed as she saw Kaito struggle to stay on the Ragna-mail, "He can't control the Overlord. It's a Ragna-mail, like the Vilkiss. But what's this feeling? It feels like he can succeed."

The Overlord was a Ragna-mail, just like the Vilkiss. But unlike the Vilkiss, which wouldn't even activate if the pilot didn't meet the requirements, not only those who tried to pilot it would get killed, the Overlord wouldn't activate to anyone, but it would test its pilot's worth by running wild, testing if the pilot could tame it. Soon, no one tried to touch it, fearing the mech like it was a sleeping dragon, one that would kill you if you poke it, or in this case, ride it.

(In truth the overlord was more like a deep sleep dragon that won't move even if you poke it many times)

As of now, Jill could say Kaito had the greatest progress, and in her opinion, the highest chance of success. But that wasn't to say Kaito wasn't hurt, he received a lot of cuts and bruises as the machine tried to tear him to shreds, along with the constant fireballs from the Seiryu Inves. He was between a rock and a hard place.

Then as the Seiryu Inves chose to do a nose dive, aiming to end all of it. Kaito roared, "Enough! I have endured worse than this! This…. This is nothing!"

The former Overlord pulled hard on the controls. Then the ring started to glow even brighter as the Ragna-mail relented to Kaito's will. The man willed the machine to transform into its Assault mode, shooting up into the sky as it stayed there, its wings blaring brightly as the machine glared at the Seiryu Inves, which had missed it attack when Kaito had taken control of the Overlord.

Then a red bow appeared in the Ragna-mail's right hand, one that Kaito knew very well. Kaito smirked, "The Sonic Arrow, I like this already. Now, let's continue, shall we?"

Kaito stared at the massive Inves below him. The Inves roared as it fired its fireballs. But Kaito dodged them easily and shot towards the Dragon-type Inves. As soon as he entered its range, the dragon tried to grab the Overlord. But Kaito wouldn't have it, he slashed the Sonic Arrow's blades at the claws, cutting through them easily. But the man wasn't finished yet, using the momentum from his previous attack, Kaito willed the Overlord to turn and slash at the Seiryu Inves' chest, where the wound from Kaito's sword was.

The effect was as Kaito wanted, the wound grew, green blood gushed out of the wound. Then, Kaito threw his bow up into the sky before he grabbed the dragon's tail and flung the dragon towards the ocean.

As the Seiryu Inves crashed into the sea, Kaito raised the Overlord's right hand to grab the Sonic Arrow. The man grinned as he aimed the bow at the silhouette of the dragon in the water and pulled the bowstring. Then an energy arrow formed as energy started to gather at the tip of the arrow.

Kaito muttered as he saw the monitor stating the duration for the maximum output of the arrow, which was 3 minutes, "Come on… come on."

If it was a normal day, three minutes weren't much, hell it was short. But in a battle, three minutes could mean life and death, and hell it felt like forever for the man.

Then a smirk formed on Kaito's face as the charge was complete, just as the Seiryu burst out of the ocean. Kaito's smirk widened as the Seiryu Inves charged straight towards the grey Ragna-mail, not noticing the drawn arrow.

As the red laser point tracer landed on the Inves' forehead, Kaito released the arrow. The yellow energy arrow glowed with power as it pierced through the Inves' head. Then the Inves glowed before it exploded from the massive amount of energy in the arrow.

Kaito lowered his bow as he stared at the remains of the Inves, or rather the ashes that fell into the ocean. He didn't care if the commander wanted the Inves alive, he would never let anything related to the Helheim roam in the world. The last thing he needed was this world turned into an Inves Hell.

Back at the base, everyone was shocked upon seeing the power the Ragna-mail held. Jill was curious at the weird bow, as far as she knew, the Overlord had nothing that resembled a bow. Hell, she didn't even think the Ragna-mail had any weapons other than its sword. She sighed, it would seem that she could only get answers from Kaito. But even then she couldn't help but admit, Kaito probably had more potential than Ange and she ever did, and will probably be stronger than they ever will.

After the battle, Kaito returned to the island. As a result of the battle and his show of skill at taming the Overlord, he had received a massive amount of money along with a promotion to being second in command of Squad one. But as punishment for his suicidal acts, he had to run 30 laps around the island with 50 kilograms on his back.

Kaito didn't argue, he knew he deserved it. But he figured it wasn't that bad since he not only got to keep the Overlord, which he found ironic since he was a former Overlord, and a whole bunch of money along with a promotion. Though he didn't care much about that.

After finishing the run, Kaito decided he would treat himself to a fruit parfait, for once. The man couldn't help but feel excited at the new power he gained. It was like getting his Sengoku Driver, Banana Lockseed, Genesis Driver and Lemon Energy Lockseed all over again.

Just about every member was happy for Kaito, but Ange wasn't thrilled. The brute, in her opinion, had been promoted, received a Para-mail similar to her Vilkiss, and even received a huge bunch of money. Ange knew she was jealous, even if she wouldn't admit it.

But no one could blame her, she was weak compared to Kaito. He never gloated when he won, before they came to Arzenal, Ange had everything, she had power, money and just about everything. Ange was royalty and had everything handed to her on a silver platter.

As for Kaito, he was and had nothing. He was a commoner, yet he was stronger than her. He never used Mana, he did everything with his own hands. Hell, Kaito was even more of a noble than she was. Then Ange realized, Kaito was just like a knight, a black knight, but a knight nonetheless. Even if he wouldn't admit it, Kaito had fought for other people, but he never once gloated about his achievements, he was never appreciated for his deeds, and instead he was hated.

Then a question arose in her mind, if she was even half of what Kaito was, could she had changed the society to accept the lack of Mana? Could she remove the need for mana in the society like how Kaito did not use Mana?

Questions raced through her mind as she considered all of them, they all eventually led to that one man who came into her life. That one man who fought an unknown dragon and single-handedly won against it, and even if she would never admit it, Ange was happy that Kaito had survived.

Meanwhile, in the cafeteria, Kaito was enjoying his fruit parfait. Granted it wasn't Charmant or Drupers, but it was still good in Kaito's opinion. Several of the Para-mail riders sat next to his table staring at him, more specifically the riders from squad one. The man could basically feel the curiosity from their gazes as he took a bite from his parfait.

The former Overlord decided to be nice for once and looked at the girls, "So, you've been staring at me for a while, what do you girls want?"

Deciding to go first, regardless of how scary Kaito was, Vivian asked, "Umm, how did you manage to tame that Para-mail? It was like swinging around wildly!"

The pinkette raised her arms sideways to emphasize her point. Kaito stared at her and answered, "It was nothing much, you can say I only showed it who was the real boss, and it followed my will."

The enthusiastic girl's eyes sparkled with admiration, "Sugoi…"

"I think you should have been punished more after what you pulled," commented Salia.

Kaito smirked at the girl, "Ah, but I survived. I survived to fight for another day. There will always be risks, ups and downs in life. I merely decided to take the chance. Besides, if I died, then you girls could have picked up from where I left and used my sacrifice to win."

Salia stared at the man with a deadpanned expression, "The way you said that, you're not scared to do kamikaze stuff, are you?"

Kaito chuckled, "Ah, but being scared is just pointless. Sometimes all you need is to have determination. If not, well, then there's no other way to say it, you're weak."

Salia nodded, even Ersha and Vivian were slightly surprised by his words.

The bluenette then asked, "So, what are planning to do with that money? I mean you're not exactly the kind of person to buy a lot of things."

Kaito shrugged, "Apart from what I need, daily stuff, small shit and new equipment for my new ride, I don't think I need much. You girls can have the rest."

At that, the three girls' eyes widened and Kaito could've sworn he saw bill signs in their eyes. The three girls exclaimed in unison, "Are you serious?!"

Kaito chuckled awkwardly and nodded. All three of them beamed happily as Salia commented, "Thank you! There were several things I wanted to buy from the market."

Vivan and Ersha nodded as the elder pinkette said, "Same here. Thank you very much, Kaito."

Kaito shrugged, "Its fine, I don't need that much money anyways. But I'm curious, what are you girls gonna buy?"

Salia blushed slightly and looked away, "It's a secret, you don't need to know."

Kaito nodded and filed it as female needs, deciding he didn't need to know. Ersha then replied to his question, "Well, I'm planning to get some gifts for the children and a few items I need, girl stuff."

Kaito nodded to that as well before Vivian exclaimed, "I'm gonna get that boomerang I saw in Jasmine-baachan's mall! I'll call it Bunbunmaru!"

Kaito chuckled at her enthusiasm and nodded. They continued talking about random things as Kaito continued to eat his parfait. As they talked, the other girls that didn't like Kaito watched them, and as they watched them, the girls started to respect the man more but that doesn't mean all of them.

Later at night, after the pleasant conversation with Squad one, Kaito was walking towards his room along the dark hallways. As he walked, he heard claps and turned to see a figure step out from the shadows. The figure wore nomad clothes and had a face that was all too familiar to the former Overlord.

Kaito charged the man and threw a punch towards the man's face, only for his fist to phase through his head, showing that he was a hologram. Kaito cursed, "Damn it."

Sagara chuckled, "Ah, you seem to be thrilled to see me again, Kaito, or do you prefer Baron?"

Kaito glared at the man, "What do you want? No, the better question would be why am I here?"

Sagara stroke his chin, "Well, since I'm feeling generous today, I'll tell you. I am here to provide you with some assistance and some answers. To answer your second question, unfortunately even I do not know."

Kaito narrowed his eyes, "What do you mean?''

Sagara grinned, "I may be the Helheim forest, but there are much more powerful beings out in the universe. Kami-sama, as humans would say, decided to throw you into this world for some reason. I have no idea what goes on in that mind."

Kaito frowned, "So I might just be a pawn or merely a random average guy sent to a totally different world for nothing but this god's personal entertainment?"

Sagara pondered a while before he nodded, "Well, if you wanna put it that way, I guess you're not wrong. But hey, you do look like you're enjoying the thrill of flying and fighting, even if you hate this world for its corruption."

Kaito nodded, "Yeah, though you can say I love and hate it at the same time."

Sagara chuckled, "I see. But you know, many males would kill to even be in your position. After all, you're surrounded by strong beautiful women, you might as well make your own harem!" Sagara declared dramatically with open arms.

Kaito glared at the snake, "I don't give a fuck with what others say, I'm not in the mood and I have a lot of questions for you."

Sagara sighed, "Aww, such a killjoy. Its no wonder you're still single. Well, I guess you wanna know why the Seiryu Inves is here, and why I'm here?"

Kaito nodded. The snake continued, "Well, to be honest, the Seiryu Inves was merely a test to see if you can tame that Overlord of yours, like that time you ate one of my fruits. As for why I'm here, I told you, I'm here to give you something."

Sagara took out a Sengoku Driver and a Melon Lockseed and threw them to Kaito who caught both of the items easily. The man frowned, "This isn't the one I use."

Sagara chuckled, "Of course not, but that's the only one I'm giving you. So take it or leave it."

" Tch'd" Kaito clicked his tongue but said nothing as he placed both items into his pockets. He knew very well Sagara was the only one who could make or bring in Lockseeds since there weren't any Lockseeds here. But having the Melon Lockseed was better than nothing, even if he didn't want it since it was used by Kureshima Takatora, Armored Rider Zangetsu, otherwise known as Shiroi no Akuma.

Sagara then said, "Oh, by the way, that driver can only be used three times, a way to test your determination and patience, no?"

Kaito didn't reply as he stared at the man. Sagara continued, "If you're gonna ask me if I'm bringing the forest here, then the answer is no. I've already found another world to invade, its only a matter of time."

Kaito stared at the man sceptically as Sagara sighed, "Hey, don't gimme that look, I told you already, one world one fruit. That's the rule."

Meanwhile, Ange had been thinking about the events during the day, but she fell asleep in the cafeteria. The girl woke up to realize she had fallen asleep in the cafeteria and decided to go back to her room. As she walked, she saw Kaito talking to another person.

Ange decided to hide by the corridor and observe them. It puzzled her as she heard Sagara's voice, which was obviously male. It was common knowledge that Kaito was the only male to ever set foot on the island but here was another man on the island, wearing old fashioned nomad clothes.

It also bothered her to see Kaito talking to him so familiarly, it was as if Kaito knew the man. Then the man's eyes moved to Ange, and their eyes met. Ange's eyes widened in fear she had been caught but the man did nothing and winked at her when Kaito looked away.

Sagara decided to end the conversation and said, "Well, my time is up. Adieu, Kaito. I'll see you some other time, hopefully under better circumstances."

The man turned to leave before he said once more, "But before I leave, I believe I should tell you that the Kami-sama of this world has taken an interest in you. I wish you luck."

With that, the man vanished without a trace. Kaito sighed and tossed the Melon Lockseed in his hands before he entered his room, totally unaware of the former princess that was hidden in the corridors.

I wrote this because I was in a good mood, if you're asking why Kaito can only use the Sengoku Driver three times its because Sagara is a prankster and he enjoys intervening with the flow. So he just added the handicap for entertainment. The Overlord is based on the Vilkiss and the other Ragna-mails in the series, I mean it does make sense for other proto-types to be there, with faults here and there.

A Mexican standoff is a confrontation between two or more parties in which no participant can proceed or retreat without being exposed to danger. As a result, all participants need to maintain the strategic tension, which remains unresolved until some outside event makes it possible to resolve it.
