Hilda was wearing a brand new summer outfit, which showed that she wanted to change, to be accepted, but is still the same from the inside. As she was walking happily, ready to see the person that give birth to her.
Her expression was that of someone that went overseas and finally came home, to see her family. How she has endured all the pain and suffering, being someone else to play toy so that she could go back home. Finally she was home.
Kaito arrived at the village seeing Hilda with a new outfit and cheerful expression was on her face. It was the first time Kaito seeing such an expression on her, complete out of character. Then again, she was just like Ange. Who preferred to bottle up all her emotions, then letting it all out.
Kaito knew about what's going to happen both to Ange and Hilda, what's the use if he tried talking or persuading them, that what awaits them is despair. It's better for them to experience what awaits them. Rather than listening to him.
It be no different than trying to force a bear to ride a tricycle.
As he was walking around the village. He saw that it was peaceful and very beautiful, He could see everyone was doing fine with their daily lives without any worries, probably forgotten about the outside world. Some of the local's waved at him happily he just waved back at them smiling forcefully just to avoid suspicion.
As he continued the walk in the village it strange, peaceful but strange, probably due to the isolation from the outside world, but that would be impossible no matter how small a village is. Some will rat out that a person being a Norma. And that Hilda was that proof.
Kaito continues walking the village, seeing the sights and planning for every contingency for any emergency. Looking around and not forgetting the souvenirs.
Hilda was in front of her house, finally meeting her mother that she missed for all those years, she felt so happy and excited for that she endured all the hardship on Arzenal. Not only from the harassment of Zola, but dragons as well.
And now finally she was home.
At the same time, Ange manages to reach the Empire, but she needs to sneak quietly since everyone already knew that she was a Norma.
So the first thing she did was to kidnap another princess.
The sky was getting even darker, it wasn't a good sign for the farmers, and it is a blessing for those who knew about bad things. But something bad is going to happen, Kaito was at the cemetery far off village. Beside tombstone were cheap stones that was used to mark the names of the Norma.
He knew, since Hilda's name was there and without her family name. It was a point that those who are Norma are already dead to the world which means her mother has already seen Hilda not as her daughter. Kaito growled, remembering memories of his own family.
He remembers how he was proud of his father once. But things changes when Yggdrasil took his company without paying any reparation, and those who supported him left. Then his father began to change to a drunkard that would hit him for no reason, when there was no money left they sent him to an orphanage to grow up.
Like Hilda and Ange, he was naïve like them waiting for his family. That they would someday come back, but they never did. As years gone past he finally learned that his family committed suicide after they lost everything.
There were times, family doesn't mean love and treasure if they can't appreciate it. It Was how this rotten world worked. Children who are Norma were either taken or abandoned by their family like a cursed child. Families are torn apart and forgotten.
Kaito guts was saying something bad happen to Hilda and he quickly ran towards where he last saw her before.
Hilda ran after her mother with splat her face with a pie. as she called her a monster and how she was being replaced by another person called Hilda. Her heart was filled with rage and despair and she ran, she couldn't take the revelation of what happen.
The police were reported of a runaway Norma and found Hilda who was walking like a zombie, the police beat her up since she was a Norma, but for Hilda she couldn't feel any pain at all. As she looks at the sky wishing that it was all just a dream. but knew it was real.
Kaito arrived just in time seeing how the police were using domestic violence on the Norma, he felt angry and rushed to save her and not before breaking every police officer's bones on their body. One of them in the weak state saying
"Why are you defending the Norma she just a monster" he said
"Then tell me, can a defenseless monster fight back? Do you all have the right to beat her?" Kaito then broke the officer fingers as he screamed in pain.
"Tell me, you are defenseless right now and does that give me the right to stop?" proving his point how the humans beating a defenseless Norma.
"Stop it or we will hold you". The officer said
"Wrong answer" as Kaito broke another finger. The officer screamed in pain
"I ask again what was the question?" he asked
"Please stop" he said with fear in is voice
"Wrong again" another finger broken.
"We're sorry we won't do it again" he said with absolute fear in his voice
"That's what they all say" Kaito then lifted up his foot and smashed the officer head knocking him out as much he wanted to killed him he has limits, only the worst scum he won't hesitated to killed.
When it was over, Kaito looks at Hilda as she was deranged, as she didn't see him at all. Kaito knew that look very often. It was the look that all hope was lost, and everything that you believe and fought for was gone.
He was just like that, still believed that his parents would come back to get him from the orphanage to be together again as a family once more. But they never came back. It was nothing more than false hope.
He slowly lift up Hilda Gently and covered her with his coat. And went to the woods to hide, and lucky for them there was an old shade that they could use.
Kaito decided to start the fire and used it to dry his clothes. He could try to remove Hilda's wet clothes, but never did in respect, but it was either carrying a sick person in very dangerous territory. Or felt her wrath as he already knew the answer.
Before he could remove her wet clothes Hilda pounced at Kaito and savagely kissing him, as she started to remove her clothes on her own. It was human nature to seek those to fill that hole and Kaito was that person in truth he could push her or stop but it would hurt her even more. He could see from her eyes that lack of any emotion and awareness only instinct that drives her, he mind was completely blank.
Not only that he didn't know what to do in that situation.
So he let her do it with him even if it was the first time with a male. But then again animals are driven by instinct to survive.
Hilda awoke from her sleep and seeing that she was in the shade as she looked around she saw Kaito leaning behind a wall bared chest. then she started to remember what happen the despair and anger that she felt knowing the truth and how she used Kaito to fill that hole in her heart.
She felt disgusted for using him even she wasn't right in her mind. Then she saw a gun on the floor near him, it would mean she can end it all. The pain, the suffering, and the betrayal.
"If you're going to kill yourself do it quietly" he said with no hint of remorse in is voice
"Is that all you have to say." She stood up "Why did you save me" she said with anger in her voice
"It's not my nature to leave you alone" he said looking into her eyes
"I don't need your pity" she said "I was the one that sabotaged your para mail".
"I know, I don't care or hold a grudge".
"Then why?! is it because your code of honor that you cant leave me is that it, I LOST EVERYTHING! I endured everything, just so that I could be with my mother. It turns out, I was already being replaced".
"Do you how I felt my heart was broken I fall into the deep despair I wanted to die as I looked up in the sky that it wasn't a dream at tall it was real. How could you understand me, as you could just live in the mainland since they haven't been any Norma males!"
"Is that how you humans live? Huh! To trample on us Norma!"
Kaito slowly walks straight to Hilda. Who was in fear that he would hurt her. It never came instant he hug her suddenly out of nowhere. Something that was out of character for him.
"I know what it feels like, to hope for something but in the end it never happens. I knew how it feels to be betrayed by the person that we respect and love the most. It's alright, you're not alone. Were in this together" it was something that Kaito understood, the feeling of hope the never came.
Hilda for the first time cried, but it wasn't the cry of despair, but a cry to all of her feelings were let out loud. After few minutes of crying she finally calmed down.
For the first time, she felt relieved that all of her burden in her heart was gone. As she looked closer towards Kaito, her heart was racing fast. She started to blush on how handsome he was and she wanted to do it with Kaito again only this time with her own free will. So she thought of something else.
"So what's the plan" she asked as it was an obvious question.
"We're going to save Ange, like you her family has already forgot about her. And her stupid plan may be a trap, set by her brother. He said, letting go of the hug that they were feeling
"A trap! But how we're going infiltrate one of the most secure place in the mainland?" she said knowing how the got out of Arzenal was dumb luck.
"I already got an idea" he said.
Both Kaito and Hilda were dressed up as the police officer from the clothes that he took from them their vehicle was a park not far and they can use it. "it's the perfect camouflage, as the citizens won't suspect a police officer among them was a Norma."
Hilda took one last time look at her home saying her final farewell "Saraba "then turn away, never looking back. She had a new purpose now and was to be with the only male that relieved of her heart and loneliness.
Both of them drove towards the Empire, the police vehicle was easy as everyone just ignored them. When they arrived at the Empire, everyone was doing their normal things, even during the night.
The city lit up just like Zawawe city, and how beautiful it was. Hilda was looking at the city for the first time in awe. For Kaito it was beautiful from the outside corrupt from the inside.
The duo arrives at the abandoned warehouse, where it once housed lots of goods from the former princes Angelise, now it's nothing more than a dump. A perfect place for a hideout.
Kaito went straight to the door and knock three times then two times and four times and finally a bird whistle. The door open revealing Jack who was surprised seeing their leader here.
"Kaito-aniki you're here" as both Kaito and Hilda quickly went inside, unknown to anyone else.
"It's good to see you again everyone" The team joins happily in seeing their leader once more "So how's life here?" he asked
"Were fine Aniki, it's just that everything has been vexing these days". It was true the Empire has changed. No longer cheerful like the time Princess Angelise wasn't known as a Norma. While the older brother starting to do anything he wanted, but the public didn't even care if he raised the Tax.
Since he just puts the blame on Angelise, and the public ate it like a strudel on sale.
"It's better I tell all of you about Arzenal" as Kaito told Team Neo Baron the secret of Arzenal and how Norma children were trained as expendable soldiers in a secret war of a monster from another dimension. Not only killing, but harvesting them like cattle. It seems farfetched but Kaito has a picture with a video as the say a pictured worth a thousand words.
"So all this time there's an unidentified life form from another dimension trying to invade this world" a member said
"It seems like it" Kaito said
"But I don't understand why only use Norma but not the military might from the Empire that would be much more sufficient".
"I kind of agree I knew how to keep it a secret" remembering the Angelise incident.
"It must be something else and I think that a Norma that can't use Mana is the answer. Including on why Harvesting this giant dragon, but that can wait for any news that seems big."
"Actually, there is, it's on the news nonstop". Pick hurried using Mana to project a Hologram showing the news of the Princess as Julio telling that her former sister or monster Norma trying to invade the Empire and trying to assassinate him.
Kaito already knew what the bastard is going to do tomorrow or the next day was to announce to the Empire and humiliated her.
"Men we prepared for a grand finally that this Empire will never forget."
I don't like how what happen to Hilda it kind of pisses me off and this is a change of pace.
