Of choreography and March
Lauren's P.O.V.:
Ah yeah let it be heard loud and proud people. March has arrived which means we are 3 months away from the music video shoot and I couldn't be more excited! Sorry I'm writing this now; I am at school with Sean and Keith in the middle of tech ed class learning about something which I believe is structure but I could be wrong. "Now, as we see here everyone its important to understand that structures have shapes that can either break or support the building being built. Who can tell me what's the commonly used shape to support structures," our teacher Mr. Don asked as someone raised their hand. "Yes Will," he called on our buddy. "Uh squares," he guessed.
"I would say yes but that's not the one you would be surprised on," he answered as I raised my hand. "Lauren," he called on me. "Triangles," I told him. "That's correct Lauren. Triangles are the commonly used shape to support the weight in buildings besides squares and cement. One great example of triangles in used in the famous cathedral in Paris Notre Dame, as you can see here in this photo," he said calling it up on the screen through his computer as we watched the photo and saw the close up of it. "See here how the buttresses are shaped like triangles," he asked showing the picture. "Yes," we all told him.
"This is basically spreading out the weight from side to side cause otherwise if not, it would break and cause the building to fall," he said to us. I raised my hand once again. "Yes Lauren," he called. "Wouldn't it be different though if something was underneath to support it," I asked honestly. "Yes in a way Lauren but when Notre Dame was being built there was a way to support it but a lot of the things found today were used to also support the weight of the building," he told me. I was honestly intrigued by it as I payed attention along with Will, Sean and Keith. "Now keep in mind everyone with your projects coming up, I want you also to think of if your building is like Notre Dame how would you best support the weight of the building," he told us as the bell rang signaling the end of the period. I got all my things along with Sean, Will and Keith as we walked out of tech ed down to the café for lunch.
Sean's P.O.V.:
"So with our group building that were doing, how would we support the weight cause Mr. Don said triangles are fairly common," I asked Lauren, Will and Keith as we went into the cafeteria. "Well, maybe if we did something like a pavilion in the park, we can show how triangles are used for that," Lauren suggested. "I was thinking if we did a church and how other shapes support the building besides triangles," Will added. "Either way we'll think of something," Keith said hopefully as we got lunch for the day. "So Lauren, has Hector set up the Electric Company annual March Madness Bracket yet," I asked my friend as she got her food.
"No yet. I've been bugging him to get started because we are like two weeks away from Selection Sunday and too top it all off, rehearsal for slide and drop is starting pretty soon, maybe today even," Lauren told us as we paid for everything. "Ah maybe he's focused on the video and doesn't have the time to get to the bracket yet," Will proposed. "That might be the case Will. If he doesn't get to it soon, I'll take the reins," I said before seeing Jess coming into the café and sitting with us. "Hey guys," she greeted. "Hey Jess," we smiled.
"You guys talking about the music video soon," she asked. "Yeah and also if Hector started up the bracket yet," Lauren told her sister. "You mean the one for March Madness? Honestly, he wouldn't miss it for the world besides other things of course," Jess told us. "Yeah or maybe with everything going on with the video he must have forgot. I know that could be the case for me," I answered. "Yeah you do bring a valid point Sean," they agreed as we had lunch. "While we are it with catch ups, how are plans for the flash mob going Will," Keith asked him.
Lauren's P.O.V.:
"Doing good. I got some choreography down with some of my friends and I think I can say it will be perfect for the flash mob," he told us. "Oh nice can we see it," I asked. "I was going to ask you guys if you want to stop by the rec center after school and see it for yourselves," he explained. "Oh. We were going to say yes but," I told Will. "Say yes," Jess pleaded. "I would but were waiting for the package," I whispered. "What package," Will asked. "Lauren and I's birthday present to Hector might be coming in the mail today," she answered. "Oh," he realized. "Yeah sorry dude, but you can video if you want and send it to us," Sean suggested. "I'll do that guys. What about you Keith, Jess want to see some of it after school," he asked them. "I have to help dad at the diner," Keith shrugged.
"I can come by if you want," Jess said before sneezing. "Bless you Jess. Wait, aren't we supposed to be starting rehearsals today," I told her. "Ah thanks. I think Hector will let us know," she sniffled. "Don't mention it," I told her. It felt odd to me that Jess might be coming down with something, but I wasn't 100% sure if I'm honest. "That would be great Jess. I would love it for you to see it including you two," Will said pointing to us. "I know we would love to see it dude. I think were near the end of the wire guys besides the flash mob coming up and video rehearsals might be today," Sean told him. "Oh, you mean for slide and drop? How's that going," he asked. "Getting all the kinks sorted out and we should be starting dance rehearsal I think this week. Hector's going to let me know," I told Will. "Ah, hopefully soon," he added. "Hey guys," a voice sounded and Officer Flynn came over to us. "Hey Officer Flynn," I told him. "Hey. I heard you guys are planning some music video stuff coming up and figured I join in," he said sitting down with us for lunch.
"Yeah that's the plan now. I'm just glad that the whole scam thing is over," I explained. "Yeah, so are we," they agreed. We told Officer Flynn what happened over the weekend and he was stunned as Will was. Believe us. I got photos. "Okay so you guys are starting rehearsal soon right," he asked. "I think were starting today or so. I hadn't heard word from Hector, Shock or Mario yet," Jess admitted checking her texts. "Well I don't know when you guys are planning to film but I was at the station the other day and found some 70s theme items that we used for our Halloween party last year and I was thinking you guys can use it for Hector's birthday party," he suggested. Sean and I looked at each other knowing this would be perfect, and I mean perfect for the party. "We would love that Officer Flynn, thank you," Sean told him. "Your welcome guys. Any idea on when you want to pick it up," he asked.
"We can pick it up on," I started to think. "How about we pick them up a week before the video shoot so that way their set to go," Jess suggested. "Nice. I like that," I agreed. "Perfect. I'll let the officers know to hold onto the supplies for you guys," he told us. "Thanks," I smiled before hearing my phone buzz with a text. "Oh, we got a text guys," I announced. I soon pulled out my phone and saw Hector's name on the text. "It's from Hector. Hey Lauren, quick question did you order a package in the mail lately? I was at the mailbox and it's addressed to you," I read. I looked at Sean and smiled.
"Is it here," he asked. "I think it is," I grinned. "What's here," Officer Flynn asked. "Hector's birthday present," I smiled. "His birthday present? Are you kidding me Lauren? Planning that out in advance," he asked. "Nope. I made sure to plan everything out. It's a two part present Officer Flynn," I smiled. "How so," he asked us. "One, it's Jess and I's present to Hector and two it's for the video," I explained. "Not a bad idea. I like your thinking," he told us with a grin. The bell soon rang meaning lunch was over and soon we were off to class. Jess and I were off to art while Sean, Keith and Will were at another class enjoying it.
Hector texted me saying we would be starting practice today and I couldn't be more excited. Since Sean and I were directing and we weren't "technically" in the video, the two of us planned on staying at the apartment while Jess and Hector were rehearsing with Mario and Shock. School finished up after health as Sean, Jess and I got on the Metro back to the apartment. "Hector were home from school and Sean's here," I called to my brother as we walked in. "Hey you two. I knew you came in already. Hey man," Hector greeted getting a shirt on. "Hey dude," Sean replied. "Quick question, where's the package," I asked. "And more so, are you changing to rehearsal clothes now," Jess asked.
"Yeah. Had to work on a big project for my history class," Hector said getting the sleeve in. "It's near Spring break Hector," Sean said. "True but want to make sure things are set you know," he shrugged. "Alright, so the package that came in the mail," I asked honestly.
Hector's P.O.V.:
"Oh that package. I got it from the mailbox and It's in your," I started to say before I got a breeze of Lauren passing by me. "Thanks Hector," she called as she ran to her room. "Room," I finished. "Didn't see that one coming did you bro," Sean grinned. "Yeah guess not," I shrugged. "I'll go check on Lauren and then we'll head to rehearsal," Jess said to me as she walked right beside me. "Okay," I grinned going back to fixing my hair.
Lauren's P.O.V.:
Jess and Sean soon came into my room as I sat on my bed with the package. "You think this is it Lauren," Sean asked. "Well, it's addressed to me, so I think this is what we have been waiting for," I smiled. "I can't believe you still planned this out in advance to get it in on time," Sean remarked. "I know but it's for Hector and this is Jess and I's birthday present for him so I can't wait to see how it looks," I said before going into the package. "Hold on Lauren. We don't want to tear it apart before Hector notices," Jess told me. "Come on. I want to see it," I whined. "And we will," Sean smiled. "How," the two of us asked. "Lucky for me, I have my handy pocketknife to open up the package," he said taking it out. "You got a pocket knife in your pocket," Jess asked. "Nope. I keep it in my coat," he answered before revealing the contents in the package that was Hector's outfit for the video shoot. There it was the dark green blazer with 70s inspired shirt hanging on the hanger, green pants that were smooth as butter, the brown shoes he asked for and a braided headband that fitted perfectly with the wig I also got.
"Wow," all of us breathed and whistled seeing everything all perfect. "Looking good Lauren. This is perfect," Jess cheered. "Thank you. I told you planning this out would be perfect for the video," I smiled. "Yeah, this is awesome and amazing girl," Sean grinned. "Yep and knowing these are on the hangers we should be perfect for the party. I'll also make sure to get a protector to keep it clean," I said to them with a smile. "Lauren, let Jess know I'm ready whenever she is," Hector's voice rang through the apartment. "Will do Hector," I told him. "I better get going with Hector for rehearsal. I'll see you guys later on," she told us. "Yep see you then," I smiled. "Jess come on, we don't want to be late," Hector said near the door of my room. "Okay I'm coming Hector," she told him getting some clothes to practice in her duffle bag. "Hey, those are my clothes your putting in the bag," I pointed out. "I'll put them in the wash," she told me. "Fine," I agreed. "Come on Jess, don't want to be late," Hector told her as she soon left my room. Sean and I quickly got our present for Hector in my closet just in time before he came in.
"Oh your already set. I was about to barge in," Hector told her. "Don't get any ideas," she told him. "Alright. Say everything okay, I heard talking or so," he asked. "Oh. Part of your birthday pres, I mean decorations came in the mail," Sean said before catching himself.
Hector's P.O.V.:
"This out already? Are you guys crazy," I asked them. "No, I don't think so," Lauren shrugged. "Alright. Well, were heading off to rehearsal and we'll be back a little later okay," I told my sister. "Okay Hector, have fun," she said to us. "We will," I grinned before Jess and I walked out of the apartment heading towards the subway to go to the dance studio. This was going to be awesome!
Lauren's P.O.V.:
"Close call on the project Sean," I told my friend. "Yeah good thing, I caught myself. Otherwise I'd be spilling the surprise," he admitted. "Yeah, really good call," I grinned. My phone soon rang my BTR ring tone. "Whose calling," Sean asked. "Oh it's Will. He's on Facechat," I said picking up. "Hey Will," I greeted with a smile. "Hey buddy," Sean said as well. "Hey, I thought you guys were coming," he smiled. "Well Hector has dance practice with Jess for Slide and drop today so, pretty much Sean and I for now. What's up," I asked. "I got the choreography done for the video and wanted to show you guys some parts," he told us. "Really," I asked. "Yeah it's awesome! Check it out. Hey Sam, come help me for a sec," Will said calling Sam over as they got in the position to do one of the dance moves which was almost something one would see in the Step up movies and have to admit, looked awesome. "Dude that was great," I applauded. "Nice," Sean added. "Thanks guys. I figured it would be perfect for the video. Speaking of videos how's Slide and drop coming along," Will asked.
"Hector and Jess are at rehearsal now," I told him. "Wait. Is that today? Oh man, I forgot," Will groaned. "Calm down buddy they're just getting started with dance moves. So your fine," I told him. "Oh. I feel bad and were late guys. Got to go Lauren," Will said as he hang up. "No wait Will your fine. I," I said before he hanged up the phone. "That was weird," I told Sean. "Yeah really weird if you ask me," Sean agreed. "Uh huh. So what's next," I asked. "Homework," Sean shrugged. "Works for me," I agreed as we went back into the kitchen to work on homework for school.
(At the Palm Woods)
Logan's P.O.V.:
The guys and I had a pretty interesting day as we recorded our album which I can't believe is happening to us now. Who would have thought it came to be? I'm still stunned by it. Believe me. Anyway, the guys and I were relaxing at the pool as I looked curiously on the statue of the lion and the small coin. We hadn't cracked the code yet but I figured we would figure it out. "Logan you coming into the pool dude? Come on," James said calling me. "I'll be right there James. I'm just thinking about something," I told him looking at the lion statue and coin that were near me. I'm not 100% sure what they are exactly but I guess it means my destiny is about to come to fruition.
