Summary/disclaimer: Time for another chapter of the Sun and the Inventor. Enjoy the 900-word chapter. I don't own MLP, Hasbro and a few others do.
Celestia watched Maverick slowly ease up as he led the former co-matriarch of Equestria through Silver Shoals.
"Anyway, the crash into the cliffside destroyed my wing… Said I'd never fly again." Maverick stated and flapped his prosthetic wing. "It's not the same, but I can still get myself airborne…. Just don't like flying anymore." Maverick said with a tone that caused him to sigh.
Celestia nodded and frowned. She had lived for a long time, but to have seen one of subjects had destroyed their limbs so horridly. Celestia could only ponder how one of her subjects had ended up replacing one of their appendages they were born with.
"I'm sorry to hear that, Maverick." Celestia said as they continued their course through the city. "How did you replace it? That replacement couldn't have grown with you." Celestia said as Maverick rubbed at his side.
"My friends helped me figure out how to measure it." Maverick said while waving his wing back and forth. "Fancy Bolt helped me measure. He loves helping building, I never saw him drop the tape measurer he used to carry around." Maverick said while Celestia smiled.
'Good, he has friends… Just like everyone should.' Celestia thought to herself as she looked to the side.
"I barely see my few friends around town at times." Maverick said and started to pace in place. "It's not easy with them, I know their busy… But sometimes I wonder why they never come around to talk." Maverick stated as Celestia raised an eyebrow at this.
"Your friends and you aren't getting along?" Celestia questioned which caused Maverick to hum and shrug at this. "That's something I could contact Twi…" Celestia started to say before her jaws snapped shut.
She had forgotten that she had abdicated her throne. She no longer had the direct methods to contact her former student. Celestia mentally sighed at this and then pondered how to ask her former apprentice if she could handle the task.
"Maverick I'm so sorry to hear that." Celestia stated which caused Maverick to raise an eyebrow.
"Wha?" Maverick questioned before he realized what she meant. "OH, NO, NO, NO! We still meet up at times. They just don't meet up with me as much as we used to… I guess we just got busier as we got older." Maverick stated and waved his front legs and wings at the former princess of Equestria.
Celestia still hummed as Maverick finally asked a question which he had just noticed at the moment.
"I've been meaning to ask as I just noticed it, Pri… Celestia. Where's your sister? I would have thought you and Luna would be traveling together." Maverick questioned while tilting his head to the side.
Luna, her younger sibling. The very one which made her remember that had banished her… Nobody could imagine the pain that she had to deal with at the moment. Nobody could deal with that pain at the moment. It made her question just how her sister forgave her for that at the moment.
"She's busy sleeping." Celestia said with the same smile which made Maverick hum. "You know my sister; she's still shaking off not being on a schedule." Celestia stated as Maverick nodded.
"Yeah, I can understand not getting good sleep when it comes down to it." Maverick stated and rubbed at his chin at the moment. "I'm not a heavy sleeper. You make one loud noise and I'll be up and at them. My heart goes out to the former princess of the night." Maverick stated as he looked at Celestia who chuckled.
'Oh, poor Luna will never drop that, I'm sure." Celestia mentally thought and turned to look at Maverick who only hummed before starting to trot in place… Again.
Maverick cleared his throat more before someone started to rush towards them. Maverick leapt back which allowed the blur to rush ahead.
"THANK YOU, MAVERICK!" Maverick heard from the blur as he hummed and then turned.
"NO PROBLEM, GALE! SLOW DOWN NEXT TIME!" Maverick shouted as he looked to the side.
"Gale?" Celestia questioned as Maverick hummed and rubbed at his chin once more.
"Yeah, one of my friends… Super-fast Earth Pony, she just never continues to slow down." Maverick stated while tapped on the ground as he hummed. "You'd like her, she's very fast and yet she's a great conversationalist." Maverick stated as he waved his hands back and forth while he tilted his head.
Maverick knew Gale would come back. She'd come back as he knew when it thought back to it as he hummed.
Maverick looked back up at the sky and then turned to the sun alicorn once more. Maverick didn't know what he had to say as he looked to the side. He didn't know exactly what would happen next.
But it would be such fun.

Phew. Another chapter done! I want to point out that next chapter will be 900-1500 words and such. Next chapter will also be in a month or so down the road. Until then, Lighting Wolf out!
P.S: Luna might get a new story soon. I might make some other stories down the road when it comes down to it. They might be 900 words.
