(Sophia's POV)

I cringed watching yet another man slam into the carpet, unchained was destroying what little pride the Japanese police department had left.
Six bodies.
Seven bodies.
Eight bodies. Each one slammed against the mat with more force then the first and I wince as more screams of pain hit the air.

My eyes snap over to police chief Sonoda, his mouth set in a firm line. The man was stubborn I'd give him that

"What are you waiting for? A fatality?"

Gyoki clearly shared my thoughts "Just give him the damn black belt already."

"If I do that we could never call ourselves true judo masters." he snaps back

"Yeah well Unchained isn't using judo so this whole thing is pointless." I watch unchained slam yet another poor soul into the mat, the large male was simply using force instead of technique -and carelessly at that.

"Come on Sonoda! How many of these guys do I got to toss around before you give me the black belt?!" Unchained whines "What do I have to throw this guy through the damn roof?! Because I'll do it one handed!"
I wince as the male slams into the ceiling then the floor, barely noticing Mr. Shibakawa sneaking off
"I mean seriously!" he picks the next male up with ease "Even I'm starting to get a little bored."

"You're bored eh?" my head snaps to the left, seeing Mr. Shibakawa now dressed in a white judo uniform "Well then how about I change that."

"Oh god..."

This was not going to end well...

I take in another spoonful of food, sitting at this expensive restaurant Unchained had somehow convinced Police chief Sonoda to let us attend. My eyes take in the fancy chandelier, the fancy outfits, the string quartet and the rich clientele. I even wore an expensive red evening gown that probably costs an arm and a leg and heels that he secured with one phone call. A part of me wondered who Biscuit Oliver really was, but the other half said knowing would be a thousand times worse.

"Come on cherry. Why don't you just give it up and tell me where his hide out is."

"I told you I don't know what your talking about."

"Why do you care?"

"What?"

"Why do you care about all of this?" He asks again "The prisoners? The fight? I mean no offence but most females find this kind of stuff ridiculous." He takes a slow sip of wine "Now maybe you like it, the thrill, but you don't strike me as a thrill seeker."

I stare him down "and yet here I am, eating dinner with a criminal."

"Well considering you ex I assumed you were used to this." He spins the wine around his glass "Yakuza may be rough but they sure know fine dining."

"Can we not talk about my ex boyfriend?"

"Well you don't seem to keen on answering my other questions."

This time I look away "Maybe I have nothing to say..."

"Yujiro sure seems keen about you."

"Tell me about him."

"Who? Yujiro.

"No," I pause curling my hands, it was still so hard to say his name. "Your prey."

He smiles "well we have the Russian"

"Not him."

"No? And I assume not your friend... Spec?"

"No."

He hums deeply "You must mean Yanagi." I feel my hand tighten around my glass "there is the basic stuff."

"He is a Japanese convict who escapes from a rocket-proof special glass case. While he's the smallest of the convicts physically, he is proving to the most deadly. He is the only convict whose crime is known to the public."

"Which is?"

"he killed a dozen men in prison as a test bed for his new skill." he takes a sip of wine "his Vacuum Palm technique. That's what landed him on death row." I swallow some tea but that did little to help the ball in my throat "At first, Yanagi seems to be a very stoic person, but he actually likes to use psychological mind games during his battles, he behaves towards his prey like a cat toying with a mouse."

"Yeah, that much I knew."

"He uses a special martial arts called Way of the Void. In this style he practices Vacuum Palm, Whip Strike, Poison Hand and many others. Yanagi is also very good at using a wide range of weapons." Unchained cuts some meat, clearly not bothered by any of this "However, he is strong and skilled as his weight lifting training is so extreme it ruined his teeth." his eyes find mine "If your looking for a new opponent I'd stay away from him."

I look down quietly, gently poking my food with my fork.

If only I could...

..

..

I exit out of the building, four police officers around me. They were returning me home when the first one hit the ground.
I gasp, already feeling that cold shiver run through my body, the second crunch was heard before a thump.

Oh God no

The third one hits the ground, blood spilling from his throat.
The fourth one struggles and then I hear it, the calm unnerving voice.

"Tell me Sophia, do you know what the most poisonous gas is?" I turn, slowly seeing Yanagi. He had the cop pinned before him, arms bent in a painful lock "It isn't what you think. It's not Hydrogen Fluoride, Carbon Monoxide or Cyanide." his hand moves, slowly touching, playing with the scared cops face "No answer?" his head turns to his ear, words soft and whispered "It's actually air."

I feel my stomach twist when he grips the cops head and I watch him blow. The cops eyes bulged, blood and brains exploding out the other side of his head. Blood runs from his eyes nose and ears and I watch the now lifeless body hit the ground.

How the hell had he found me?

"You know I'm almost angry, the way you chose him over me." he steps over the bodies "The way you run to him... but maybe that's my fault." his hand gently swish back and forth, a tricky deception of peace "Maybe I've done more damage then I realized." A small smile on his lips "But don't worry," his hand moves, gently cupping my face, his rough thumb runs over my cheek "We have all the time in the world to change it..."

I shut my eyes, feeling his other hand slide up my arm, over my shoulder, up my neck and just before it reaches my lips he stops.

"I turn around for one moment and this happens." tears spill down my cheeks as Unchains voice hits my ears.

"Biscuit Oliver."

He grins in amusement "You know about me?"

"The criminal that hunts other criminals? Any criminals with serious intentions knows that name."

A slow mocking clap echoes through the alley "Serious criminals huh? Well you sure seem to fit that bill," his eyes flicker to the bloody mess of bodies "Blowing a man's brains out? I got to say I'm impressed. That was quiet a show,"

Yanagi turns, a hand still on my arm "I have an eye for flare."

Unchained grins flexing his large hands "While I'm pleased you showed up, I must admit I was expecting someone else."

I watch his lips move into a straight line "I'm sure you were... but he's a little preoccupied at the moment."

"Yeah, I threw down with him a little while ago, guess he's still recovering."

Yanagi finally released my hand, fully turning to Unchains approaching frame and I take a shaky step back. My palm were sweating, my head was pounding and it seemed impossible to breathe, yet each step he took I took one back. One step, two steps, three steps, four steps. I already knew this fight would be awful and for the first time since all this craziness started I didn't want to know how it ended.

I ran.

..

..

After what felt like an hour of running I scrambled through the door of the new hotel room, like I figured Doyle was sitting on the bed, dressing his wounds in white medical tape and gauze. He spares me a momentary glance before returning to his work. I stand there, waiting for him to say something, anything at all and feel my anger boil.

"What the hell was that?!" Doyle cuts off the last of the tape, placing the things in the box before him "DOYLE!"

I feel my heart jump slightly when his eyes snap up "What are you yelling about?"

I stop, my mouth actually falling open. Was he seriously pretending this morning never happened?! "You left me at the station!"

He simply looks at me again, causally lighting a cigerette between his lips "And you found your way home."

"Doyle!"

"Sophia." He exhales with a wince, his split lip sent blood rolling down his chin

"I want you to train me! That's what I asked!"

"I am"

"No your not. I've been here for the last four days and you've done nothing but treat this like a joke!"

He dabs a cloth against his bloodied lip "Why not?"

"What?"

"Why can't I?" I pause, this answer was clearly throwing me. Doyle had been up my ass since the moment I met him and now that I was here willing to learn he was pulling away?
"Why should I train you?" He leans back on the chair "I mean we both know what this is." His hand waves in a circle before me "you're pouting Sophia. You're mad that you left and your boyfriend let you. Well I'm not going to training someone that wont take it seriously."

"I'm not pouting."

"Yes you are." he leans back, picking up the silver can of beer

"No I'm not!" I move, smacking the beer out of his hand and Doyle's on his feet before me.

"Then why?! Why are you so obsessed with power?! WHY NOW?!"

"BECAUSE I WAS WEAK!" I feel my lip quiver "I thought I knew what I was doing! I thought I was great! And then you guys show up! And I realized that I am completely and utterly defenseless." I put a hand over my mouth, sparing a glance at the window "... I was weak and I realized in that moment that the boys would be happy to keep me that way!" I feel my anger rise "I do not want to be weak. I want to be strong... I want to be powerful and you're the only one that will show me that."

This time Doyle steps back, looking around the room "Its not weakness Sophia... Its innocence." He picks up his beer can before sitting "You've experienced darkness but you're still on the line. To step into our world you have to abandon all humanity. -This isn't a movie Sophia. Hero's don't stop bad guys, bad guys stop bad guys ." his hand motions to me "The way you are now, you'll never win, because your not prepared to kill."

"THEN TEACH ME!" I run a hand through my hair "God Doyle I don't know how much clearer I can be about this!"

"Why do you want it?! What happened? What happened in the last three weeks that is so bad that you'd be willing to throw away everything for it?!"

"BECAUSE HE KILLED MY MOTHER!"

Doyle slowly turns to face me "What?"

"My parents made an agreement with a man, demanding god knows what for a large amount of money. My mother and brother die, my fathers ran away too scared to tell me anything and ten years later my brother shows up in a mysterious coma with the monster from my dreams. -I put two and two together."

"Who is it?" I look away feeling that fear come back and Doyle snorts "You want me to teach you how to kill people and you cant even say his name?

Despite my anger a deep blush floods my cheeks "Well that's why! Ever sense your stupid group showed up I can't do a damn thing! I'm terrified of him and its infuriating!"

He smiles walking over to me slowly "Well since you can't say his name should I go down the list?"

"Doyle" I warn

"Spec?"

"Dorian?"

"Sikorsky?"

"Yu-"

"Stop!" Even just hearing his name made my stomach spin, my heart jump and my head hurt. I move away from Doyle's amused eyes "I want to look him in the eyes and feel no fear. I want to be able to say his name with out getting sick. I want to sleep without tossing and turning from nightmares!"

Doyle sighs, turning to walk towards the window, the darkened sky stared back. He stood there for a while, mulling over my words in silence. I dared not speak, simply standing by the door. Everything would change or stay the same depending on his answer. My eyes fell on the clock by the bed, watching the hand move.
Five minutes.
Ten minutes.
Fifteen minutes pass before a deep tired sigh leaves his lips.

Doyle turns, struggling to sit and his eyes find mine, red irises filled with something I couldn't read. "I'll be honest Sophia, that's a difficult path. This mission for vengeance will take you away from everything you know. I will strip away everything that is you and mold you into a weapon, my weapon to be used when ever and how ever I want. You will do what I want, when I want it and I won't go easy on you."

"I know." I swallow roughly

He looks at me, danger lurking behind his eyes and I shiver as the room suddenly felt too cold.

"No. You don't... but you will."
