The Zephyr lands outside of an abandoned research facility from the 80s that he was lead to by Byers. Fitz would've gone inside, but he's got a ten foot gate, and he's not exactly a fit climber.
"Fitz, what have we got?" Coulson asked as he and everyone exited the jet and headed towards Fitz.
"Byers said there's a portal somewhere in this building that was never truly sealed off." Fitz reported in.
"So we go inside, find the portal, then what?" Mack asked as they headed to the doors and Barry quickly phased into the gate and then used his powers to vibrate the door off the hinges.
"Well, from our experience, it would be, find the relic, and then run away from people wearing a pointy helmet." Hunter commented sarcastically as he was referring to the whole Battleworld experience.
Barry then came back over where Daisy was currently quaking the fence.
"Great. Let's just see what we can find." Barry said as they all began to head on inside, Barry and Daisy leading the way.
The facility seems it wasn't used since the 80s with all of the cob webs, dust, and flickering lights. And then there were these weird particles floating around the area.
"Looks like we just walked into a horror movie." Bobbie commented.
"How long do we expect to search?" Melinda asked them.
"How about until we find this?" Caitlin asks as they went into a strange room with a see through window that entered a room with a giant hole that looked sorta like several veins followed by a pulsing heart.
"That's a portal?" Mack asked.
"Not like ones we've seen." Cisco commented as he went over and touched the controls and activated the lights.
"Well, at least we have light." Coulson guessed happily. "Now what's our next move?"
"That's the portal to where Will Byers said he was rescued through. The government couldn't close it, so they contained it the best they could." Fitz informed them as he stared at the opening. "Jemma must be on the other end."
"Yeah, but...what's over there?" Daisy asked him. "We haven't had the best luck when it comes to portals."
"He said it was almost like a mirror of the real world." Fitz explained. "Everything exactly the same on where it would be in the real world. But empty. Dark. Cold."
"That's not ominous." Mack stated. "This is starting to feel like a big mistake."
"We'll, there's only one way to find out..." Fitz said with a grin and looked to their powered friends.
Daisy rolled her eyes and walked over to the enhanced door with Barry by her side.
Outside the facility, Hunter Zoloman and his gang of HYDRA men saw that SHIELD was in the facility and began to make their own way inside.
"All right, men. Let's see why SHIELDs here. Kill anyone you find." Zoloman demanded them as they grab their weapons and headed on inside.
"Mack, do me a favor, pull that lever." Fitz asks Mack as he was currently trying to open the doors without having Daisy blow them down. Just in case.
Mack did as he asked and Fitz pulled a similar lever and they watched as the doors began to slowly open.
Barry and Daisy began to walk through the room to see that the whole place was filled with those weird particles floating around.
"You sure about this?" Barry asked Daisy who answered by raising her hand and shooting a quake into the portal, seeing it rip apart and reveal there is indeed another side.
"Let's do it." Daisy said and grabbed onto Barry.
"Here we go again." Barry whispered as he sped the two of them into the portal.
Just then, they get a perimeter alert from the Zephyr parked outside and saw they had company.
"Oh, Bloody Mary." Hunter whispered.
"What is it?" Bobbie asked.
"We have company." Hunter warned and showed them what he saw.
"Great. And we just got rid of our powerful people." Coulson groaned before hearing Cisco clear his throat as he gestured to himself and Caitlin. "Oh, right. You guys learnt to control those."
"Yeah. We'll take care of them." Cisco promised as he and Caitlin made their way outside the room and down the halls. But just then, Cisco had a vision of a creature similar to the one that attacked them in the chasms coming back. "Okay, someone might wanna get on the creature we might've accidentally released."
"You're kidding, right?" Hunter asked.
"Lethal weapons!" Cisco warned them as they left and went to take care of the men.
Barry sped through the freaky portal and when he stopped, he was standing in the area where the facility was supposed to be standing, but it was nothing but an open field.
Daisy then let's go of the speedster and began to walk through the place and activated the flashlight she brought with.
As they explored the area, Barry saw a weird looking egg that was rotting, but obviously already hatched.
"I don't think we're alone in this place." Barry whispered as he searched the area.
Daisy was walking over to the area where he saw the Castle Byers sign that she recognized that Cisco said he saw Jemma was hiding in.
"Barry!" Daisy called him over as he quickly sped over towards her and saw the sign himself.
"Cisco said this was Jemma was hiding." Barry whispered, wondering where she could've gotten in a day or week, depending if this place also ran off of the Battleworld reboot logic.
"Yeah, and this means one of two things." Daisy said, not wanting to think of it.
"Either that she got away and is hiding somewhere else..." Barry listed one of the options.
"...or she's gone." Daisy listed the worst of the options.
Barry wasn't going to give up after coming this far to save Jemma. "Come on, this place is big. She's gotta be somewhere nearby."
Daisy agreed and got to her feet and they began to search the area.
Back in the facility, Mack, Bobbie, and Hunter were out looking for the creature and were wondering how to find it.
"Stay close." Bobbie warned the guys as she aimed her gun ahead and they aiming at the sides and back.
"It's at times like this I wish I carried a shotgun." Mack commented as he aimed the pistol around. "Or an axe. Or an axe/shotgun combination."
At the entrance to the facility, the HYDRA men being lead in by Hunter walk in and see that they were being blocked off by Caitlin.
"I'm unarmed, boys." Caitlin promised them as she raised her hands.
"Well, we're not." Zoloman said as he walked over to her. "Step aside, or we'll go through you."
"Here's another idea." Caitlin said with a smile. "How about you leave, or I go through you?" She then straightened out before staring down Zoloman and that was followed by all of their guns to start turning on them.
"Uh...sir..." one of them tried to speak as Caitlin started to turn their guns to point at their own heads.
"I...I can't lower my weapon!"
Zoloman tried to move himself but found himself frozen in place. He then looked towards Caitlin who gave him a grin before he noticed her nose was bleeding.
Caitlin also noticed that she was losing control and forced all of them out of the facility before smiling and turning away.
Zoloman got back on his feet and groaned in anger before quickly pulling his gun and shooting at Caitlin with her back turned. Caitlin heard the gunshots, but then she turned around and saw the bullet heading for her. She tried to stop it, but it seems she ended up using too much power and took a bullet to the shoulder.
"Caitlin!" Cisco cried as he opened a breath before he dropped down and picked her up and ran back through it.
"That's it. Run." Hunter said with a grin as he headed on inside.
Mack, Bobbie, and Hunter keep going through the halls when the lights begin to flicker.
"Guess the electric bills haven't been paid." Mack said when suddenly they heard something crashing through the ceiling and looked up to see something breaking through it.
The three immediately began opening fire on it, but it didn't seem to do much as the creature came crashing through and they stopped firing.
"Time to make a run!" Mack said as they all ran out of the door and closed it on their way out, hoping that slows it down.
Barry and Daisy continue to walk through the place and search for Jemma.
"Jemma?" Daisy just called out to the open air. "Jemma!"
Just then, the air began to pick up, blowing the particles around to where the area isn't visible anymore.
"Jemma!" Barry has resorted to shouting as well.
"Barry!" They suddenly hear Jemma crying out.
"Simmons!" Daisy cried as they both ran off in the direction of the cry.
Cisco exited the breach with Caitlin holding her wounded shoulder when Mack and the others can in.
"We've got a problem!" Lance warned them as they closed and barricaded the door.
"We've got another one of those things that took Simmons roaming the halls." Bobbie warned them.
"What happened to her?" Mack asked as he saw Caitlin bleeding.
"Seems HYDRA is back." Cisco said as he took out their first aid kit they brought for Simmons and started to patch Caitlin up. "Caitlin took care of most of them, but we might have them coming back for seconds."
"Let's hope the others see having better luck than we are." Coulson said as they got prepared for a fight.
Daisy and Barry ran at a normal pace through the storm, searching for where Jemma's voice came from.
"Simmons, you out there?!" Daisy called out.
"Jemma, if you're out there, cry out!" Barry called out.
As they entered the school, they saw a bunch of bodies. Some fresh, some old enough to be coated with mold.
"Barry! Skye!" Jemma cried, and they realized that she doesn't know about the whole Daisy thing.
Yet again, Coulson still calls her Skye every now and then.
Barry then sped off to where he finally found where Simmons was and saw she was limping.
Picking her up, he sped back over to Daisy who was relieved to see she was safe. "Let's get the hell out of here."
The team were all aiming their weapons at the door when they heard screaming and gunshots, seems that the creature found HYDRA for them.
The gunshots stopped and they just began to calm down when the creature rammed the door and caused them to start opening fire on it.
"Shoot it!" Cisco cried as he quickly raised his fist and blasted it with a blast of energy.
Caitlin then had an idea and suddenly got to her feet and then began to use all of her power to force the monster back from her friends and impale it to the wall.
"Caitlin, you're bleeding." Bobbie warned her as Caitlin sees she's using an overextend of her powers. But before she could do anything else, a quake of energy comes in and blasts the creature to oblivion.
"That was right. Right?" Daisy asked them with her hand held high.
"Right." May promised when Barry came through the doors, carrying an unconscious Jemma in his hands.
"Jemma!" Fitz cried as he ran over to Barry.
"We need to get her to STAR Labs." Barry tells him. "She seems injured."
"Then let's get her out of here." Coulson agreed as they all made their way out of the facility, keeping it up just in case they need to return.
Hopefully they never do.
What they didn't know was there was one survivor of HYDRA. Hunter Zoloman. And with nobody to stop him, he wandered through all of the halls to where he found an old book.
It was an all red covering, seemed to be rotting with old age, and the cover had a six fingered hand with the number 2 on it.
"Now...what is this?" Hunter asked as he opened the book and went through a few pages when he saw something that could be his answers to all of his problems.
Creature #326: It had a pyramid shaped figure with hands, feet, a top hat and one eye.
Their problems with saving Simmons might be over...but what was the cost?
Jemma was in the power dampening box on the Zephyr and was getting looked over by Caitlin who was feeling better after defeating the creature.
"No signs of radiation or infection." Coulson sighed in relief what Caitlin told him.
"She wouldn't have even known that they were looking if it weren't for the quake." Daisy commented.
"Let's just get her back home. Who knows what happened to her over there." Barry stated, happy that after everything they've been through, they finally have everyone back together.
After everything they went through on Battleworld, losing their world, the threat of losing all of their lives, they were happy to see that their family was in one piece.
For now.
