ONE WEEK EARLIER:
Barry bolted into the room and tackled Thawne and pinned him against the floor. Wells didn't move, he didn't hesitate. There was something more than meets the eye going on here. Simmons ran into the room and immediately went to Skye. She kept muttering to herself about Daisy, and how she had to tell Skye something.
"Run," Cisco shouted as he and the other's ran into the room, "Everyone run!" the Demogorgon leaped into the room and went to charge.
"Finally." Thawne said as he ran into action. He circled around the room and threw a lightning bolt at the creature. The creature exploded against the wall, suddenly in the crater were the creature exploded, a glowing hole opened up and mysterious vines began to grow out of the glowing hole.
Thawne then turned and grabbed Simmons and threw her into the hole. The whole then quickly sealed up just as quickly as it had formed. Fitz lost it and began screaming. Barry charged at Thawne but the villain managed to quickly leave as fast as he could. Everyone stood in shock. They weren't sure if they had lost, but they weren't sure if they had won either.
UPSIDE DOWN: DAY 1:
That's where Jemma woke up. In the exact same position where she left.
"Jemma!" She heard the voice of Fitz call out.
"We gotta go, now!"
"Run!"
Jemma kept walking, wondering where she was. It almost looked exactly like the real world, but with a few gigantic changes.
The sky seemed less breathable, and there were particles floating around everywhere, and vines growing off of everything.
"Okay. Everything will be fine." Jemma calmed herself down. "I mean, I was just thrown into a creature with a flower face that seems to have somehow transported me to...I don't have any bloody idea. If I had to guess, it's some sort of upside down curvy world. Similar to the mirror theory. The theory that stated that some physicists believe of a mirror verse. Quite remarkable really, meaning that there must be some sort of way back like the way I came."
She then took a few jumps to test out the gravity.
"The gravity here is similar to the type of Earth, the terrain seems almost exactly mirroring the real world, in fact eerily so." Jemma then took out her phone and took some photos of the world. "Suitable for terrestrial organisms, with a slight dense air, it seems there's no signs of intelligent life anywhere."
She then heard a similar screech to the Demogorgon that got her in this predicament and she turned around to where it came from.
"Yet again...there must be something out there." Jemma whispered in fear as she quickly ran for it.
DAY 2:
Jemma ran as fast as she could when she found a small shed that looked to have been made for a child. Seeing to be the only place to not be covered with vines and goo.
"Seems to be the only livable place." Jemma said as she went inside and pulled out her phone. "I'm still looking for some way to get out. I'm starting to think there might be a way in...but no way out."
She then curled up and began to cry herself to sleep. Suddenly there was a loud roar and Simmons screamed at the attack and raced out of the shed and into the woods.
DAY 3:
Jemma screamed and ran as fast as she could, not caring where she ended up as long as she stayed alive. Quickly thinking she bought herself some time, she hid behind a tree where she began to her chittering and screeches from the creature.
But then she heard what sounded like sparks and lightning. She didn't know what was happening when she heard the monster let out an ear piercing scream.
Jemma doesn't even move though as she tried to control her breathing as she was shaking. Just then, an arm grabbed her from behind and covered her mouth. She tried to fight off whoever it was, but then it immediately struck her she wasn't alone.
"Stay quiet. They don't stay down for very long." The person said, sounding like an elderly man. He then took his hand away from her mouth and held it out for her to take. "You better come with me if you want to live."
Jemma had nothing to exactly say and just nodded her head. Just then, she was blasted off into a secluded area that it looks like this strange person's been making up camp.
Jemma then turned to face the area and realized she was deep inside a cave. Seemed to be a bunker of some kind.
"Sorry if I scared you." The man apologized as she turned to face the man. And he definitely wasn't what she was expecting.
Instead of some scary looking muscle bound man, he was actually an elderly man. At least twice her age or half of that. And what he was wearing shocked her as it was a giant red shirt that covered his arms and entire upper body. A golden zipper leading to a golden lightning bolt and what appeared to be a normal pair of jeans.
"Needed to get you out of there before...it caught you." He explained to her and placed down a strange helmet/hat that had wings on the side.
"It?" Jemma asked the elderly man.
"Whatever it is that lives out there." Jay explains to her and notices she had a cut on her arm. "Oh, that doesn't look good. Hang on." He then sped through the bunker, shocking Jemma that he was indeed a speedster. The man then came back and had a first aid kit in hand. "One of the benefits of this world being identical to the real world. You know where to find everything.
"I'm sorry...who are you?" Jemma asked him.
"I'm sorry, I forgot my manners." He apologized with a laugh. "I've been alone for a while, and you forget things like that. My name's Jay Garrick."
"And...you're a speedster?" Jemma asked in shock.
"You know about me?" Jay asked.
"Well, not you, but I'm friends with a speedster. Barry Allen." Jemma explained to him.
"Barry Allen?" Jay asked and shrugged. "Never heard of him. But where I'm from, they call me the Flash."
"The Flash?" Jemma was even more surprised to hear. "That's what we call Barry."
"Heh. That's a coincidence." Jay said with a laugh and pulled out a small bottle of water.
Jemma then looked and saw a bed, equipment, and supplies all over the place. "How long have you been here?"
"Oh, I don't know. Days, weeks, months, I honestly don't know." Jay said as he handed a bottle over to Jemma who gladly took it. "I don't really know how I even got here."
"What do you remember?" Jemma wondered.
"Running." Jay answered with a shrug. "I was running to stop a crime, and then the skies turned red. And the next thing I know, I woke up here. How'd you manage to get here?"
"I was shoved into this creature by someone who we thought was a friend." Jemma answered. "Same to the one that chased me."
"Yeah, those buggers are all over the place." Jay said and pulled out a book and handed it to her.
When Jemma opened it, she saw drawings of tadpole like creatures that had arms and legs. She then turned over the pages and saw they later transformed into the creature that she was tossed into.
"Is there any way out of here?" Jemma asked.
"Not that I've found. Mostly due to...it." Jay said with a grim tone.
"It?" Jemma asked.
"It." Jay said as he gestured behind Jemma who turned and saw a drawing. It looked to be a gigantic spider like creature with the head of an alien from...Alien. "It's out there...waiting. For something, I don't know what. I think it's next victim."
"There's no way out, is there?" Jemma guessed.
"Not as I've been able to tell." Jay said regretfully. "It's like an entire world here, but there's no way to get out of."
"If there's a way in, there has to be a way out." Jemma returned.
"I'd like to believe that, but there isn't. Not unless you get past him." Jay gestured to the image again.
"Have you tried?" Jemma asked.
"Never really had a reason." Jay answered.
PRESENT DAY:
"And that's how you got out?" Barry asked as he and the others were listening to Jemma tell her story on what exactly happened to her while getting checked up by Caitlin.
"Not...exactly." Jemma answered.
DAY 7:
Jemma and Jay have been getting to know one another and it would appear that Jay was from a team known as the Justice Society that were a group of heroes from World War Two, meaning he's defiantly been here for some time.
They heard a monster out roar outside and were shocked to hear it.
"Somethings agitated it." Jay said in shock.
They then felt the entire world shake.
"It's them!" Jemma could easily tell as she raced outside and they saw a glow coming from the forest. "They found a way!"
"I can't believe it." Jay said in shock.
"Let's go!" Jemma cried and grabbed Jay's hand and raced off with him.
Jay and Jemma ran for a few seconds before Jay saw something in the distance.
"Jemma! Wait!" Jay cried as they both looked up and saw a giant cloud of dust and smoke in the shape of a giant spider.
Jay quickly sped off and hid him and Jemma in a secluded location.
"No...no!" Jemma cried. "We're so close. We can't give up now."
Jay looked and saw that the creature was going to be closing in on them. "We're not giving up. I know how to draw it away."
"What?" Jemma asked.
Jay smiled and looked back to Jemma. "You didn't give up. Keep running, they're here to get you."
"Jay, what are you saying? Jemma asked.
"Jemma!?" Barry's voice is heard through the Upside Down.
"Run, Jemma...run." Jay tells her before speeding off in front of the creature. "Hey!"
"Jay!" Jemma cried in terror at what he's doing.
"Over here! Come get me!" Jay cried as several trails of smoke began to chase after him. "Run!" He yelled to Jemma before racing off and the creature screeched and followed after Jay.
"Jemma!?" Daisy cried as the smoke began to pick up and it became more difficult to see.
Jemma cried at her friend who's giving his life to save her and ran off to find her friends and escape.
PRESENT DAY:
"I don't even know if he's still alive." Jemma whispered in sadness.
Barry and the others looked around as it seems they all had the same thought.
"Then let's go find out." Barry said, shocking Simmons. "We brought you back, and if he's as fast as me, maybe there's a way he could've survived. Maybe he can teach me some new things on my speed."
"And not to mention he saved your life." Coulson added on. "I'd like to return the favor. But let's make one thing clear: once we get there, find Jay, rescue him, we need a way to shut that portal for good. So nobody makes a move until we get a way to get that done."
"Yes, sir." Hunter agreed.
"Thank you, sir." Simmons said with a smile. "And I'll be glad to help."
"No, you take a few days and rest." Coulson told her. "We've got this handled."
A small distance from the facility, Hunter Zoloman was looking over the book page about how to summon a power beyond anything the worlds ever imagined.
"Triangulum. Entangulum. Veneforis dominus ventium!" Hunter read the incantation from the book and began to feel like something was crawling up his stomach as he grabbed it in pain but kept going. "Egassem sdrawkcab! Egassem sdrawkcab! Egassem sdrawkcab! Egassem sdrawkcab!
Suddenly, there was a flash of bright light and gust of wind as reality seems to focus on one point until out of that singular point of light, a triangular creature donning a top hat and bow tie along with skinny black limbs appeared.
"Oh! Oh! Earth-S, it is so good to be back!" The creature said as he floated down towards Hunter. "Gotta say, it looks a little different since the last time I was here. Probably has something to do with the Batman Who Laughs and his fun little joy ride he did through the multiverse."
"Listen here, demon." Hunter said but was stopped by the creature.
"Hey," the creature scoffed, "I gotta name you know, the name's Bill. But you can call me the answer to your prayers. And I'm guessing you're some kind of psycho who escaped a mental institution? Ha! I'm kidding, I know who you are, Hunter Zolomon."
"What...what are you?" Hunter asked. "How do you know my name?"
"Oh, I know lots of things." Bill stated. "Lots of things." He said in an ominously dark tone
Suddenly, his entire yellow background revealed several images of fights all throughout history, from his world, and many hundred other worlds. Dragon Riders, the Avengers of Earth-2, Peter Parker-Coulson of Earth-616, and many, many more worlds. Some familiar, some yet to be discovered.
"Hey, look what I can do." Bill said as he suddenly snapped his fingers and the man earning plant from Little Shop of Horrors appeared in front of them. "A man eating plant, for you, kid!"
Hunter shrieked as he backed away in fear. "You're insane."
"Sure I am." Bill shrugged. "What's your point?" He then snapped his fingers and the plant vanished.
"Listen to me, I heard you have infinite power. So, I want you to give me the power to bring down SHIELD!" Hunter demanded.
Bill laughed at that before a shock and thought came into his head. "Wait...SHIELD." Some smaller, slower images appeared of the agents and even a few of their Earth-616 counterparts. "You know what?" He then turned around to face Hunter again. "You've convinced me, kid. I'm sold! I'll help you with this, and in return, you can help me with something I've been working on! We can work on the details later."
"Deal." Hunter agreed and held his hand out as Bill did the same, creating a small blue flame in his hands. The two shook hands and Hunter could feel something change inside of him.
"Well, time to destroy SHIELD from the inside. Learned that from a psychotic AI. This should be love!" Bill commented as he began to float away. "Remember, reality is an illusion, the universe is a hologram, by gold! BYE!"
He then vanished, and Hunter was returned to the real world and was shocked when he looked down and saw there was almost no evidence of what just happened, just happened.
Except...there was something down on the floor where the original book once stood. Journal 3 was now gone.
And in its place...was something much...much darker.
The Book of Sins.
The Book of the Dammed.
The Darkhold.
