The team were trying to find out how to find out how to get back into the Upside Down, rescue Jay Garrick, and close the cut in their universe for good.
"Jay Garrick." Coulson said as he pulled up an old file of a group of heroes known as the Justice Society of America. "Member of a group of heroes known as the Justice Society of America."
"Never heard of them." Daisy stated.
"Because they were a secret operative in the US Government." Coulson explained as the information of them came from Fury's box. "Wonder Woman was also a member with them for a while."
"So, our Earth has a JSA." Cisco commented, thinking back to Battleworld and the team of kids from the alternate universe. "Didn't know that."
"I still question this whole alternative dimension thing." Melinda admitted.
"With short of calling in Madame Web or the Specter I don't see how to prove it." Cisco stated.
"I don't know, the idea of Coulson being a dad is kinda cute." Daisy admitted on their story of Peter Parker-Coulson. "Was he as grouchy and cool as Coulson?"
"Sorta." Caitlin shrugged. "He was sorta like a mix of Coulson and Fury."
"Yeah, cool and loose, then followed by strict and angry." Cisco agreed.
"Back to the problem at hand, Garrick was lost in the middle of World War Two, deceased." Coulson stated.
"So, how do we close an inner-dimensional rift?" Mack asked as they stared at the rift in the universe.
"It doesn't seem like a scientific approach could help us here." Simmons was sorry to say. "This is...spiritual. Demonic. That place was basically the illustration of Hell."
"Yeah, and a devil and fallen Angel need rescuing." Bobbie said sarcastically.
"We need to find someone who might be able to actually help." Coulson said as he then pulled up a location in England.
"You want us to get Constantine?" Cisco asked.
"Honestly, mate, I had enough of him during the crisis." Hunter agreed.
"He could help." Barry was less skeptical on the idea.
"Fine." Cisco sighed and went to go grab his glasses. "I'll go pick him up."
Hunter was currently having dinner with one of the last remaining heads of HYDRA, Gideon Malick, also one of the ex-members of the security council.
Picking a piece of sushi from the plates, he started to look at Hunter who's been eating an awful lot. "The octopus is one of the great symbols of HYDRA. Intelligent, highly adaptable, ruthless killers. A nearly perfect predator." He then looked up to Hunter. "Said could be said of you. Taking on these last remains of SHIELD with a handful of men and being the last survivor."
"It's a terrifying symbol, but not my idea for dinner." Hunter stated, trying to come across as normal. "Then again, I'm adaptable. Hope the same can be said about you."
"Well, that depends on your request." Gideon tells him. "Grant Ward, before his sudden passing-"
"I surpass Grant Ward." Hunter stated. "I'm still here."
"Yes, and I'm the hast head of HYDRA thanks to him and you." Gideon stated. "How, I have no idea."
"You should be thanking me." Hunter stated. "I trimmed the fat and unworthy necessities."
"You weren't trimming the fat, you're digging." Gideon could see. "What for, I'm not sure. You're chasing rumors. Ghosts."
"I'd believe you, but I found what HYDRA was hiding in that place." Hunter stated. "And I saw what it contains. Who it contains? Someone who wants to give us the Galaxy. What if the two of us put it to good use?"
That's when the door opened and one of Gideon's men walked in. "HYDRA is a complicated organization, and I don't have time to give you a history lesson." He then started to get up and wipe his hands. "I do have some long-standing plans that are finally coming together."
That's when Hunter revealed something shocking as he zipped across the room, stood right in front of his man, and then immediately returned to his seat in a millisecond and was holding the man's heart.
The body then finally fell and died in seconds as Hunter looked up to Gideon who had no idea Hunter could do that.
"Now...as I was saying, I have a plan. To take down SHIELD. The whole organization. With the help of this." Hunter said as he dropped the Darkhold on the table. "I struck a deal with a creature known as Barbados. And in return of helping him get their minds, we will get power beyond your wildest dreams. What do you say?"
Back in SHIELD, they were going over all the information that they could about the institution and all of the information they could gather about the portal until Cisco got back with Constantine.
"So, how exactly did this guy get powers?" Hunter asked Fitz. "I mean, all the people we met all had the same powers due to a lightning bolt."
"Still skeptical about the multiverse." Fitz commented, considering that their story is pretty insane. "Jay went to Midwestern University in Keystone City where he would double-major in chemistry and physics. An experiment he was working on during his junior year was to purify hard water without any residual radiation in a cyclotron. When a test tube of the hard water was accidentally spilled, the fumes knocked him out. His friend Elliot Shapiro dragged him from the lab. After a week of unconsciousness, during which Jay's metabolism increased and his body rejected nutrients, he discovered that he had been given superhuman speed by the accident."
"Glad I asked." Hunter mutter, no idea what he just said.
The breach then reopened, and Cisco came in with Constantine. "Thought I had a bloody 'nough of you people during Battleworld."
Hunter then looked to Fitz with wide eyes and looked back to Constantine. "As I said."
"Okay, maybe a little less insane." Fitz guessed, seeing there are a lot of things lining up.
"So...back together again." Barry said with a smile.
"Bloody hell." Constantine sighed.
Constantine took a few moments to look over everything that they found on the, as Hunter has been referring it as, portal to hell.
"Okay, this thing is something I'm happy with the fact you brought me in for." Constantine was actually happy about being called, something they never thought he could be. "This thing is...basically Hell."
"Told you." Hunter tells them.
"Is there a way to close it?" Coulson asked.
"Not sure." Constantine admitted. "But I think we're in more trouble than we think."
"How so?" May asked.
Constantine brought his hands to his mouth and puffed out a bunch of red smoke that showed the entire globe in the middle of the room.
"Could've just activated the holo-table." Barry muttered.
"After Battleworld, I was worried we would have to deal with threats from other dimensions." Constantine said and they watched as tears were starting to form around the world. "And I was right. Battleworld left cracks around the world. Allowing demons from other universes to enter our realm."
"Should w be concerned?" Simmons wondered, thinking of that creature that sent her to the Upside Down.
"No. I've been spending the past few weeks shutting them down and sending the creatures back. I've been looking for the source, but it seems you beat me to it."
"And you have no idea how to close it?" Fitz asked.
"Well, I didn't exactly go to school of paranormal and scientifically created experimental wormholes, did I?" Constantine asked sarcastically.
Caitlin then started to think of something and raised her hand. "What if I closed it?"
That got the group's attention as they looked to face her, wanting her to elaborate exactly what she means.
"My powers came from this place. The government experimented on my family." Caitlin explained, looking to Fitz.
"She's right." Fitz concurred.
"And her powers have been growing." Barry nodded. "Saw her take down a bunch of monsters and fought in the war to save the multiverse."
"John, what do you think?" Coulson asked and looked to him.
Constantine thought for a moment and started to think it's possible. "If I used my spell, combined with her power, it's a chance. But...do it wrong, we could rip a hole even bigger in the fabric of reality."
"And...what exact would that imply?" Mack asked.
"Think of your worst nightmares and think something even worse than that." Constantine did his best to explain. "They would be a dream compared to what's in there."
"Okay, so let's not let that happen." Coulson stated, not wanting to deal with any bigger nightmares. "Why haven't you gone in yet?"
"Easy." Constantine said and zoomed in on the base and showed HYDRA already set up base.
"Oh, boy." Fitz sighed.
"So, there's something there that they want now." Mack sighed and was getting sick of these guys.
"We need to deal with these HYDRA guys now." Barry groaned.
"Caitlin can't use her powers for a long time, which means we can't just use her to take them down." Cisco warned them.
"And they have power dampeners." Simmons recognized.
"Seems they don't want certain someone ruining things again." May said and eyed Barry.
"Cait's and Constantine power will still be able to work in there, but we can't rely on our abilities in there until we shut down those dampeners." Daisy said as she was talking to mostly Barry rather than the group as a whole.
"Get the Zephyr ready." Coulson tells May. "We're going in, gonna save Garrick, learn what HYDRA's after, and close that breach for good."
"Sounds like a plan." Hunter said as they all got their gear and equipment ready to close the portal, stop HYDRA, and be the unsung heroes of the world again.
